:00:19. > :00:22.Good afternoon. The Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt,

:00:22. > :00:28.has said he's in favour of halving the time limit for abortions from

:00:28. > :00:31.24weeks to 12. But in a newspaper interview, Mr Hunt stressed that

:00:31. > :00:34.any change in the law was up to Parliament. Downing Street has said

:00:34. > :00:42.there are no plans to change the law, which applies to England,

:00:42. > :00:45.Wales and Scotland. Susanna Mendonca reports. It's a

:00:45. > :00:51.controversial issue that divides opinion. When should the cut-off

:00:51. > :00:57.point be for a woman to have an abortion? Now the Health Secretary

:00:57. > :01:00.in post for a few weeks weighed in expressing his own opinion that the

:01:00. > :01:04.limit should be halved. Jeremy Hunt said there was a

:01:04. > :01:08.difficult question about the moment we deem life it start. Everyone

:01:08. > :01:12.looks at the evidence and comes to a view about when the moment is.

:01:12. > :01:17.His view is that 12 weeks is the right point for it.

:01:17. > :01:25.At the moment abortion is legal in England and Wales and Wales up

:01:25. > :01:30.until 24 weeks of prek Nancy. The figures show that there were just

:01:30. > :01:35.over 190,000 abortions in England and Wales last year. Most are

:01:35. > :01:39.carried out before 14 weeks. The Health Secretary said he based his

:01:39. > :01:44.review on research, not on his beliefs as a Christian, but it is

:01:44. > :01:49.said there is no evidence to back up his point of view. Those who do

:01:49. > :01:55.have abortions after 12 weeks oft have been a good reason for it.

:01:55. > :01:59.This are a small number of women, but no less deserving of care. It

:01:59. > :02:03.is important that the Health Secretary recognises the reality

:02:03. > :02:06.and the needs of women's lives. That women will need access to

:02:06. > :02:10.later care. .Downing Street said Jeremy Hunt

:02:10. > :02:14.was expressing a personal view. There are no plans to change the

:02:14. > :02:18.law. Labour described the comments as an attack on science and the

:02:18. > :02:22.rights that women have fought for, but are likely to play well with

:02:22. > :02:30.some of the Tory faithful as they begin to gather in Birmingham ahead

:02:30. > :02:33.of the party conference. The extremist Muslim cleric, Abu

:02:33. > :02:36.Hamza, and four other men have arrived in the United States to

:02:36. > :02:38.face terrorism charges. They were flown out of Britain late last

:02:38. > :02:41.night, after the High Court rejected their final attempts to

:02:41. > :02:44.halt extradition. Today the Home Secretary, Theresa May, said the

:02:44. > :02:54.law should be changed to shorten the time it takes to extradite

:02:54. > :02:54.

:02:54. > :03:00.suspected terrorists. Abu Hamza was expected to be in front of a judge

:03:00. > :03:05.in America in hours. The radical preacher and two our suspects,

:03:05. > :03:12.extradited to the US, were thought to be on board of this, the second

:03:12. > :03:17.of two planes that left Mildenhall last night. The first plane flew to

:03:17. > :03:23.Mildenhall -- flew from Mildenhall to Connecticut. The other two

:03:23. > :03:28.suspects are expected to appear in court also. The five arrived at the

:03:28. > :03:31.Mildenhall air base from Long Lartin in Worcestershire.

:03:31. > :03:36.Abu Hamza battled against his extradition for eight years. The

:03:36. > :03:41.others for up to 14 years. The Home Secretary says she is investigating

:03:41. > :03:47.ways to shorten the process. This has been a deeply frustrating

:03:47. > :03:51.process. These individuals have been, are said to have undertaken

:03:51. > :03:55.very serious crimes. They are terrorist suspects. We should be

:03:55. > :03:57.able to, and most would say, that we should see them being removed

:03:57. > :04:02.from this country in a rather shorter process.

:04:02. > :04:10.It is likely to be some time before Abu Hamza and the others face full

:04:10. > :04:15.trials in the US. Under the terms of their extradition they must be

:04:15. > :04:17.tried in civilian courts and procures cannot seek the death pa

:04:17. > :04:20.pannality. Police in Mid Wales have resumed

:04:20. > :04:22.their search for the missing five- year-old girl April Jones after it

:04:22. > :04:25.was temporarily halted overnight. April was last seen getting into a

:04:25. > :04:28.Land Rover near her family home in Machynlleth last Monday evening.

:04:28. > :04:38.Detectives have until ten to 5pm this afternoon to charge or release

:04:38. > :04:43.the murder suspect, 46 year old Mark Bridger. Jon Brain reports.

:04:43. > :04:47.For the first time this week, the town in Machynlleth woke up without

:04:47. > :04:52.a realistic prospect of finding April Jones alive. The friends

:04:52. > :04:55.devoted to finding the activity, have seen the town replaced by a

:04:55. > :05:01.quiet sadness. I have been out for about half an

:05:01. > :05:06.hour. It seems sombre. There is nothing happening. It is on

:05:06. > :05:12.everyone's minds. There is an air of devastation, really. We are

:05:12. > :05:16.devastated. We really are. It is so sad. So sad.

:05:16. > :05:20.Mark Bridger, the man accused of April Jones's murder is being

:05:20. > :05:26.questioned by the detectives. They have until 5pm to either charge or

:05:26. > :05:30.to release him. The specialist teams that were

:05:30. > :05:34.stood down for the night have resumed the search for April's body

:05:34. > :05:38.and for forensic evidence. Tomorrow residents are to march from the

:05:38. > :05:42.estate where April was abducted to the church in the town. There will

:05:42. > :05:47.be a special service for the little girl whose disappearance has so

:05:47. > :05:50.moved her community. The Pope's former butler has been

:05:50. > :05:53.found guilty of stealing secret documents from the Pope's private

:05:53. > :05:56.office in the Vatican and sentenced to one and a half years in jail. In

:05:56. > :05:59.his final statement at his trial, Paolo Gabriele defended his action,

:05:59. > :06:05.saying he wanted to expose what he called evil and corruption at the

:06:05. > :06:08.heart of the Roman Catholic Church. Pakistan's cricketer-turned
