:00:24. > :00:27.Good evening. Conservative MPs have criticised David Cameron for ruling

:00:27. > :00:32.out tax breaks for married couples in the Budget next month. There

:00:32. > :00:34.were reports that the measure would be brought forward to placate

:00:34. > :00:39.backbenchers opposed to the introduction of same-sex marriage

:00:39. > :00:41.in England and Wales. That will be voted on next week. Political

:00:41. > :00:45.correspondent Carole Walker has more.

:00:45. > :00:48.The Prime Minister believes marriage helps to bind families and

:00:48. > :00:53.communities together, but his plan to extend it to gay couples is

:00:54. > :00:57.proving hugely divisive for his party. Many opponents of the idea

:00:57. > :01:01.of wanting to do more to support traditional marriages and are

:01:01. > :01:06.disappointed that a commitment to introduce tax breaks for married

:01:06. > :01:09.couples will not be delivered in the coming Budget. On Tuesday, when

:01:09. > :01:14.the vote comes forward for the redefinition of marriage, I would

:01:14. > :01:18.rather be voting for a tax measure to put extra money in the pockets

:01:18. > :01:23.of those who need it most, rather than voting for something that was

:01:23. > :01:28.not in the manifesto, which is a redefinition of marriage. It is not

:01:28. > :01:32.the priority, the economy is the priority. Edmond Costello resigned

:01:32. > :01:37.as chairman of Somerset and from Conservatives over the issue last

:01:37. > :01:40.month and has warned that others will follow suit. What to me is

:01:40. > :01:46.being proposed is something that the Conservative Party would never

:01:46. > :01:50.have considered in years gone by. And indeed the feeling within the

:01:50. > :01:56.party, its grass roots and amongst many MPs and officers, it has not

:01:57. > :01:59.changed, I think. They are very, very upset. Some in his party

:01:59. > :02:04.believed David Cameron is being swayed by another relationship,

:02:04. > :02:06.with his coalition partner. Nick Clegg opposes the idea of tax

:02:07. > :02:10.breaks for marriage, but sources say the Prime Minister will deliver

:02:10. > :02:15.that pledge later in this Parliament and believes gay people

:02:15. > :02:18.should have the same rights as others to get married. If we can

:02:18. > :02:21.deliver a bill which allows people who love each other are the same

:02:21. > :02:25.sex to get married whilst protecting the freedoms of

:02:25. > :02:29.religious organisations, it is a good thing to do and there is room

:02:29. > :02:32.in the timetable for it. When the legislation to allow gay couples to

:02:32. > :02:37.marry comes before Parliament on Tuesday, David Cameron is likely to

:02:37. > :02:41.win the day with the support of most Labour and Liberal Democrat

:02:41. > :02:46.MPs, but dozens in his own party are poised to vote against the

:02:46. > :02:49.proposals or abstain. It is a free vote, so technically it will not be

:02:49. > :02:54.a rebellion, but it could further undermine his authority over his

:02:54. > :02:57.party. The French President, Francois

:02:57. > :03:02.Hollande, has received an enthusiastic welcome in Timbuktu.

:03:02. > :03:06.French troops helped recapture the northern Mali town from Islamist

:03:06. > :03:10.militants six days ago, but Mr Hollande warned it would be wrong

:03:10. > :03:19.to assume that the conflict against the militants was over. Africa

:03:20. > :03:25.correspondent Andrew Harding has Quite a convoy, for the French

:03:25. > :03:29.president arriving here in Timbuktu this morning. First stop, the

:03:29. > :03:34.ancient mosque. Local dignitaries lined up to thank the man whose

:03:34. > :03:42.Army liberated their town from months of brutal occupation. Then

:03:42. > :03:46.it is the public's turn. Hollande, they shout, President Francois

:03:47. > :03:51.Hollande is our hero. Just one week ago, no dancing was allowed here,

:03:51. > :03:57.no music. The Islamist militants forced women to clothe all but

:03:57. > :04:04.their eyes in black. Look at them now. Aren't I beautiful? This woman

:04:04. > :04:10.asks. Before, we had to do this. We are free, we are proud of France.

:04:10. > :04:15.It has been an emotional day in his desert town. Mr Hollande plunged

:04:15. > :04:20.into the crowds. The war has been good for his ratings back home, but

:04:20. > :04:23.there are risks ahead here in Mali. The French campaign here has been

:04:23. > :04:29.quick, successful and wildly popular, but for President Hollande

:04:29. > :04:34.this could be as good as it gets. He now needs an exit strategy. A

:04:34. > :04:38.penis handles that, Mali could be plunged back into chaos. -- if he

:04:38. > :04:42.miss handles that. Today Mr Hollande tried to strike a

:04:42. > :04:48.balance. He told his troops their job was not yet done, but he also

:04:48. > :04:52.urged Mali and its neighbours to step up and take a much bigger role.

:04:52. > :05:01.The Islamist militants have withdrawn for now, but this remains

:05:01. > :05:05.a dangerously fragile nation. A postmortem examination on a 16-

:05:05. > :05:08.year-old girl was murdered in Blackpool has found she died as a

:05:08. > :05:11.result of significant stab wounds. Sasha Marsden was found in an

:05:11. > :05:15.alleyway in the South Shore area on Thursday. Police are questioning a

:05:15. > :05:18.22-year-old man, as Ben Ando reports.

:05:18. > :05:23.The alarm was raised when flames were spotted in an alleyway behind

:05:23. > :05:27.a row of hotels and guest houses just off Blackpool's well-known

:05:27. > :05:32.seafront. When residents had put out the fire, they realised they

:05:32. > :05:36.had found a body and call the police. The victim was identified

:05:36. > :05:41.as 16-year-old Sasha Marsden, who was studying childcare at a local

:05:41. > :05:44.college. A specialist crime scene investigators continue their work

:05:44. > :05:49.at the scene, a postmortem examination has revealed that she

:05:49. > :05:52.died as a result of serious stab wounds to her head and fees. Police

:05:53. > :05:57.said today that attempts were made to set the body on fire and this

:05:57. > :06:01.was after she died. The results have been shared with the family,

:06:01. > :06:06.and specially trained officers are continuing to support them. Shortly

:06:06. > :06:10.after the body was found, a man aged 22 and a woman of 20 were

:06:10. > :06:19.arrested nearby. The woman has now been released without charge, while

:06:19. > :06:22.detectives have been given more A quarter of a million Twitter

:06:22. > :06:26.users have had their accounts hacked in the latest high-profile

:06:26. > :06:28.internet security breach. The social networking site is warning

:06:29. > :06:33.users that e-mail addresses and other information could have been

:06:33. > :06:39.accessed. Those affected will be sent an e-mail telling them to

:06:39. > :06:43.change their password. Now to sport, rugby union's Six

:06:43. > :06:45.Nations is under way with Wales losing at home to Ireland in a

:06:45. > :06:49.hard-fought opening match, one at Twickenham there were plenty of

:06:49. > :06:55.tries as England beat Scotland. Sports correspondent Joe Wilson is

:06:55. > :06:58.there now. We know the Six Nations is about

:06:58. > :07:02.commitment and passion, all those lovely traditional rivalries. It

:07:02. > :07:07.does not always translate into thrilling rugby, but today we got

:07:07. > :07:12.some great action. At Twickenham, England beat Scotland 38-18, but

:07:12. > :07:17.even more so in Cardiff where Wales scored 22 points and lost.

:07:17. > :07:22.From champions in 2012 to wear for Wales? The journey can be rapid

:07:22. > :07:26.from hero to zero, and all it took four Ireland was to get the ball to

:07:26. > :07:30.Simon Zebo. Wales were 20 points down at half-time, and it got worse

:07:30. > :07:35.for them. This may be the last Six Nations for Brian O'Driscoll. He

:07:35. > :07:39.remains the king of being in the right place at the right time, his

:07:39. > :07:43.46th Ireland try meant Wales needed something extraordinary. There was

:07:43. > :07:50.a glimmer when Alex Scott put burst through, nothing for it but to

:07:50. > :07:57.throw the dice. -- Alex Cuthbert. The touchdown was good, 30-15 was

:07:57. > :08:03.the score. Then it was all Wales, short range lunch, try given. Wales

:08:03. > :08:06.took some pride in the fight but and nothing in another defeat. And

:08:06. > :08:12.so to Twickenham, where Scotland were trying to defy England and

:08:12. > :08:15.history. Decades passed between Scottish wins here, and in the

:08:15. > :08:22.current era Scottish reason they lost to Tonga, but there is a new

:08:22. > :08:28.coach and new talent, like Sean Maitland. -- recently. England kept

:08:28. > :08:34.their fluency. After 30 minutes, Ashton squeezed over, England ahead

:08:34. > :08:39.by eight at half-time. And here came an England debutant, a man

:08:39. > :08:46.named 12 trees, and no crashing to earth. England turned on the style,

:08:46. > :08:50.a floating pass was perfection, victory and a flying start.

:08:50. > :08:53.Well, England definitely enhance their reputation here, so are they
