:00:25. > :00:28.Good evening. Millions of people have been voting

:00:28. > :00:32.in Pakistan's general election, despite a series of bomb attacks by

:00:32. > :00:36.the Taliban. At least 17 people have been killed today, bringing the

:00:36. > :00:40.total number of those who 've died in the whole campaign to around 130.

:00:40. > :00:43.It's the first time in the country's history that an elected civilian

:00:43. > :00:46.Government will be followed by another. Our correspondent, Orla

:00:46. > :00:51.Gearin, is in Islamabad for us tonight.

:00:51. > :00:56.Orla. Well, the count is under way now

:00:56. > :01:01.after a landmark election. There was less violence than many had feared.

:01:01. > :01:04.In one sense, democracy was the winner, but hue map right rights

:01:04. > :01:09.campaigners insist the election was anything but free and fair because

:01:09. > :01:13.of the killings and intimidation by the Taliban in the run-up to polling

:01:13. > :01:19.day -- human. Our report contains flash photography.

:01:19. > :01:24.A violent start to a historic day. Survivors rushed to hospital in

:01:24. > :01:29.Karachi after a bomb targeting a secular candidate. He survived but a

:01:29. > :01:36.young child is among the dead. The Taliban have been attacking the

:01:36. > :01:39.three main Liberal Parties throughout the campaign.

:01:39. > :01:45.They've been trying to scare away the voters. But this was the

:01:45. > :01:49.response. Long queues and a spirit of quiet defiance.

:01:49. > :01:53.The front runner, Nawaz Sharif, looking confident before casting his

:01:53. > :02:01.vote. The opposition leader has already been Prime Minister twice,

:02:01. > :02:04.but he's in a tight race. His main rival, Imran Khan, was last

:02:04. > :02:10.seen addressing supporters on Thursday from a hospital bed. His

:02:10. > :02:15.recent fall could boost his support, but he's not expected to win.

:02:15. > :02:20.At this polling station, it was hard to find anyone not voting for Imran

:02:20. > :02:25.Khan. The former cricket star has energised the youth. It's very

:02:25. > :02:28.exciting. It's my first time. Right now, I think it's exciting because

:02:28. > :02:34.the vote matters a lot. Everyone is looking for change. Everyone is

:02:35. > :02:38.tired for the old parties coming back again and again. This polling

:02:38. > :02:41.station has busy since early this morning. There is a steady stream of

:02:41. > :02:47.people coming to vote. They are making history here today for the

:02:47. > :02:52.first time in Pakistan. A democratic Government has completed a full term

:02:52. > :02:57.and its successor is being chosen at the ballot box.

:02:57. > :03:03.There are complaints about alleged irregularities, mainly in southern

:03:03. > :03:06.Pakistan. This amateur video, posted online, appears to show braze brazen

:03:06. > :03:11.ballot stuffing. We can't independently verify its

:03:11. > :03:17.authenticity, but the message seems clear.

:03:17. > :03:21.Overall, voting seems to have gone smoothly in Pakistan's most

:03:21. > :03:29.unpredictable election. The west is watching closely, stability here is

:03:29. > :03:32.crucial for the region. Finance Ministers from the world's

:03:32. > :03:36.seven leading economies have agreed there needs to be collective action

:03:36. > :03:40.to target tax evasion and aggressive tax avoidance.

:03:40. > :03:43.Speaking at the end of a two-day meeting in Buckinghamshire, the

:03:43. > :03:46.Chancellor, George Osborne, said it was incredibly important that

:03:46. > :03:51.international tax rules were fit for a modern economy. Our business

:03:51. > :03:55.correspondent, Joe Lynam, is at the meeting. What kind of action

:03:55. > :03:59.concerning tax avoidance and evasion can we expect?

:03:59. > :04:03.Well, they've agreed to step up information-sharing. Britain's

:04:03. > :04:06.already in a pilot scheme with the States, Germany, Italy, France and

:04:06. > :04:10.Spain and whereby if the tax authorities there suspect aggressive

:04:10. > :04:14.tax avoidance by one or two companies, they can swap data with

:04:14. > :04:20.each other and clamp down even on that company. They've agreed to step

:04:20. > :04:24.up that with the goal of having a global deal, a global tax framework

:04:24. > :04:27.which would prevent this happening in future. Britain can't act alone

:04:27. > :04:36.though, it can't just clamp down on one company and hope that will work.

:04:36. > :04:41.It needs a deal at a super national level, G7, G8 or G20, as the

:04:41. > :04:46.Chancellor alluded to today. We all agreed on collective action to

:04:46. > :04:49.tackle tax avoidance and evasion. This is a key priority for David

:04:49. > :04:55.Cameron and myself and we are absolutely determined to make

:04:55. > :04:59.progress this year with the British presidencies of the G7 and the G8.

:04:59. > :05:02.Tax is a fiendishly complex business. There are thousands of

:05:02. > :05:06.bilateral deals. This is where the OECD comes in, the global think

:05:07. > :05:12.tamp. They oversee a lot of the tax rules. They are presenting findings

:05:12. > :05:15.next month in Fermanagh at the G 8, but crucially at the G20 in St

:05:15. > :05:18.Petersburg. Thanks, Joe.

:05:18. > :05:22.Officials in Turkey say up to 40 people have been killed and more

:05:22. > :05:28.than 100 woupeded in two car bombings near the border with Syria.

:05:28. > :05:32.The blasts happened in the town of Reyhanli with many refugees from

:05:32. > :05:36.Syria fled. The Turkish Prime Minister said it could be related to

:05:36. > :05:39.the conflict across the border or to Turkey's peace process with the

:05:39. > :05:42.Kurds. Here, doctors are calling for those

:05:42. > :05:46.who work unpaid caring for relatives a t home to be screened more

:05:46. > :05:50.regularly for depression. The Royal College of GPs says

:05:50. > :05:55.careers save the country billions of pounds a year, but around 40%

:05:55. > :06:00.experience mental health problems. Danny savage reports.

:06:00. > :06:05.It's estimated that there are seven million people in the UK who provide

:06:05. > :06:09.unpaid care for a sick or disabled adult or child at home. .

:06:09. > :06:12.More than 2. 5 million are thought to be at risk of depression or

:06:12. > :06:16.stress as a result of their caring role.

:06:16. > :06:20.Careers should now be routinely screened for signs of depression, by

:06:20. > :06:24.being asked about their mood and mental well-being.

:06:24. > :06:28.Glen cares toer his wife Lisa who uses a wheelchair and has been in

:06:28. > :06:33.and out of hospital for months. He ended up off work with depression

:06:33. > :06:38.because of the responsibility. It wasn't something I really knew

:06:38. > :06:42.about until it hit me because you concentrate so much on the other

:06:42. > :06:45.person that you think, I'll be all right, I'll be all right. I suppose

:06:45. > :06:49.it's a stereotypical view that you should get through it and you

:06:49. > :06:53.shouldn't concentrate on yourself. To make life easier for those

:06:53. > :06:57.looking after others, doctors are being asked by the Royal College of

:06:57. > :07:03.GPs to allocate appointments and vaccinations at convenient times for

:07:03. > :07:08.careers and create a careers champion in all GP surgeries.

:07:08. > :07:12.Careers are the hidden heroes of the NHS, of social care and we cannot

:07:12. > :07:16.take that fror granted. It's important not only that GPs do their

:07:16. > :07:21.best for careers, but the Government and the state does as much as

:07:21. > :07:25.possible to support careers. Ministers admit that far too many

:07:25. > :07:30.careers can suffer from depression, but insist their care bill will

:07:30. > :07:34.improve knowledge about the support available.

:07:34. > :07:37.Now, in a significant boost for the British film industry, the latest

:07:37. > :07:42.instalment of the Star Wars franchise will be made here in the

:07:42. > :07:47.Producers have confirmed the seventh episode of the series will be shot

:07:47. > :07:54.in British studios next year. Our entertainment correspondent,

:07:54. > :07:59.Lizo Mzimba, has more. The sudden noo us that Star Wars was

:07:59. > :08:04.coming back caused an explosion of ecstasy from fans.

:08:04. > :08:08.-- news. Members of the original cast look to be returning. And

:08:08. > :08:14.that's not the only important element from the film's past being

:08:14. > :08:19.restored, with Lucasfilm confirming Star Wars episode VII will be shot

:08:19. > :08:23.here. It's been a successful few years for the industry, with Skyfall

:08:23. > :08:27.being one film made here at Pinewood. There is another welcome

:08:27. > :08:31.boost, not just for the industry but for fans who 'll be delighted about

:08:31. > :08:34.the announcement. That's because the expertise of British film crews is

:08:34. > :08:37.regarded as being a significant factor in the success of the

:08:37. > :08:44.original trilogy, all three of which were made here.

:08:44. > :08:48.One of the series' stars says he's not surprised. I think Britain has

:08:48. > :08:53.many of the Best Actors in the world, thank you very much, but also

:08:53. > :08:56.it has great film technicians here, you know, George Lucas himself has

:08:56. > :09:00.said the British crews are amongst the best in the world and I think

:09:00. > :09:06.that is good reason enough for films to come here.

:09:06. > :09:13.Uerks I'll give it a try... No.The famous anything is possible attitude

:09:13. > :09:16.of UK film workers on top of lucrative financial incentives has

:09:16. > :09:23.convinced Disney that once again the force is definitely with British

:09:23. > :09:27.film making. Sport now and the FA Cup final is

:09:27. > :09:30.well under way at Wembley with Manchester City battling it out

:09:30. > :09:33.against first-time finalists Wigan Athletic in front of a sell out

:09:33. > :09:38.crowd. The underdogs Wigan held their own in the goalless first half

:09:38. > :09:42.with their keeper making several impressive saves.

:09:42. > :09:48.Aguero came close for City after the break, but with only a few monies

:09:48. > :09:51.left, the score remains 0-0 and so it may be going to extra time.

:09:51. > :09:56.Celtic have been presented with the Scottish Premier League trophy after

:09:56. > :09:59.their final home game of the season against St Johnston. Neil Lennon's

:09:59. > :10:03.side retained the title last month and they played like champions
