:00:23. > :00:28.Good evening. Storms and high tides have left hundreds of homes flooded

:00:29. > :00:31.across the UK, from Cornwall to West Wales and Scotland. And there are

:00:32. > :00:34.warnings of more flooding in the coming days. The Environment Agency

:00:35. > :00:38.is advising people to avoid coastal paths and promenades. The search is

:00:39. > :00:41.continuing for a teenager who disappeared after going to take

:00:42. > :00:49.photos of the storm, as Jon Kay reports.

:00:50. > :00:55.For two days in terrible conditions, life boat crews have been set Ching.

:00:56. > :01:02.Looking for 18-year-old Harry Martin who went missing in a tidal surge.

:01:03. > :01:06.The photography student was last seen taking the Jews of the storm on

:01:07. > :01:13.a coastal path near Plymouth. -- pictures. We have been searching for

:01:14. > :01:21.quite a while and hopefully we'll have some good news. Prayers go out

:01:22. > :01:25.to his family. He is part of the community and this is when

:01:26. > :01:30.communities come together. The coastal clear up is going to take

:01:31. > :01:35.some time. This was Aberystwyth. Pounded again this morning. Tyrone

:01:36. > :01:39.Davis cannot leave what it has done to his beach-front gym. There are

:01:40. > :01:45.stones and seaweed amongst the running machines. It has ruined

:01:46. > :01:51.everything. It is the second time it has happened in the last three

:01:52. > :01:57.months. The power of the sea is so strong. This is not the sea but it

:01:58. > :02:02.is starting to look like it. Miles inland the Somerset levels are

:02:03. > :02:06.filling with water. This afternoon extra pumping equipment arrived.

:02:07. > :02:12.Once this kit is in place it should take about a tonne of water from the

:02:13. > :02:18.more every second and pump it into the river. But local people just

:02:19. > :02:23.wish it had happened sooner. On their farm close by the Sadler

:02:24. > :02:27.family feared that the pumps have got here too late. There are now

:02:28. > :02:35.taking precautions and are expecting to be flooded. It is coming in at

:02:36. > :02:39.about one metre per hour. This morning there was some green but now

:02:40. > :02:45.it is tracking closer to the house. Everyone panics. You cannot stop

:02:46. > :02:51.water. Once it is flowing you cannot stop it. The pumps may be on but

:02:52. > :02:54.some people here feel that this situation has been gnawed and the

:02:55. > :02:59.authorities are bogus too much on the coastline. -- been ignored. The

:03:00. > :03:05.Somerset levels might use to flooding but with more rain to come

:03:06. > :03:11.they are still nervous here tonight. Jon Kay reporting. And he joins us

:03:12. > :03:16.live now from Somerset. Stories today of people taking unnecessary

:03:17. > :03:22.risks in this terrible wet weather? Yes we heard this evening about

:03:23. > :03:26.lucky escapes, one in Aberystwyth where a man had to be rescued by

:03:27. > :03:31.lifeboat after being seen out on the harbour jetty during a storm taking

:03:32. > :03:36.photographs. The second in Cornwall, and swimming in the sea had to taken

:03:37. > :03:39.to hospital by the police. The warning is coming again tonight to

:03:40. > :03:46.take care especially around the coast. Tides have dropped a little

:03:47. > :03:51.but they say it is still a threat. Some severe warnings still in place.

:03:52. > :03:54.But on the coast and inland here in Somerset are looking at the latest

:03:55. > :03:59.weather forecast and it is not looking good. More rain coming in

:04:00. > :04:04.tonight. That Nick storm we have seen on the east coast of America is

:04:05. > :04:10.going to fall here as heavy rain tomorrow. So expect more warnings

:04:11. > :04:15.from the environment agency and more disruption in the days ahead.

:04:16. > :04:18.And you can follow the latest weather news at bbc.co.uk/news or

:04:19. > :04:25.for regular updates in your own area tune into BBC local radio.

:04:26. > :04:28.The family of a British man found shot dead in Libya have said they

:04:29. > :04:32.are devastated by the news of his murder. Mark De Salis had been

:04:33. > :04:35.working for a power company in the capital Tripoli for the past six

:04:36. > :04:39.years. The bodies of Mr De Salis and a woman friend from New Zealand were

:04:40. > :04:46.discovered near the town of Zuwarah, 60 miles west of Tripoli. Nick

:04:47. > :04:50.Childs reports. It was on this beach in western

:04:51. > :04:53.Libya it seems with the bodies of Mark De Salis and New Zealand woman

:04:54. > :05:00.friend were discovered. According to his family he had been working for

:05:01. > :05:03.six years for an engineering company in Tripoli. His family said they

:05:04. > :05:09.were shocked and devastated by his death. The statement said he was a

:05:10. > :05:15.decent and loyal man and loved by many. He will be sadly missed. It is

:05:16. > :05:19.still far from clear why the two were in the area although it seems

:05:20. > :05:23.they were attacked whilst having a picnic. And why they were killed.

:05:24. > :05:28.Initial reports said their luggage was untouched. There is a major oil

:05:29. > :05:33.and gas complex just up the coast but also a world renowned heritage

:05:34. > :05:37.site nearby. The foreign office has said it is liaising closely with the

:05:38. > :07:00.Libyan authorities of what it is describing as a tragic incident. It

:07:01. > :07:06.rock bottom. This was no time for your first test innings. Gary

:07:07. > :07:12.Ballance introduced to the joys of facing Mitchell Johnson. But it was

:07:13. > :07:20.one again gone to the youngsters. Ben Stokes however merely delayed

:07:21. > :07:23.the inevitable. It was a small mercy of the follow-on was at least

:07:24. > :07:28.avoided thanks to some resistance. Boyd Rankin was bowled other

:07:29. > :07:35.wrestlers Johnson and England were all out for 155. With Chris Rogers

:07:36. > :07:41.extending the lead beyond 300, it all felt futile. The hosts already

:07:42. > :07:46.seemed way too far ahead. This broken England team are now almost

:07:47. > :07:49.certain to suffer at the shame of the shame of a series whitewash.

:07:50. > :07:54.Before the draw they were the favourites. Rarely has a sport which

:07:55. > :07:58.is such a reversal in fortunes. The only consolation is that it will

:07:59. > :08:01.soon be over. Football, and in the FA Cup third

:08:02. > :08:04.round, the shock of the day was Aston Villa being knocked out at

:08:05. > :08:06.home by the League One side Sheffield United. And Championship

:08:07. > :08:09.side Blackburn drew one-all with Premier League Manchester City at

:08:10. > :08:12.Ewood Park. City went ahead in the first half through Alvaro Negredo

:08:13. > :08:26.before Scott Dann equalised after 55 minutes to force a replay.

:08:27. > :08:32.And Arsenal lead by 1-yl in their cup game against Tottenham.

:08:33. > :08:36.Finally, friends and colleagues of Phil Everly - one half of The Everly

:08:37. > :08:40.Brothers - have paid tribute to the singer, who has died in California.

:08:41. > :08:43.He was 74. With his brother Don he rose to fame in the 1950s with hits

:08:44. > :08:46.like Wake Up Little Susie and Bye Bye Love. Together they influenced a

:08:47. > :08:49.generation of pop musicians, including The Beatles. David Sillito

:08:50. > :09:00.looks back at his life, and his music.

:09:01. > :09:10.Phil on the left was just six when he first performed with his brother.

:09:11. > :09:20.Harmony was the family business. What are you going to sing this time

:09:21. > :09:30.with Mike it is called Don't Let Love Die. There is nothing sweeter

:09:31. > :09:35.than families singing together. I don't think that two people who

:09:36. > :09:41.aren't related can sound the same. Their roots lay in the country music

:09:42. > :09:50.of their native Kentucky. Their sound was clean cut, sweet, sad

:09:51. > :09:56.innocence. But the Harmony came to an end in

:09:57. > :10:04.1973, midway through a concert. Don was drunk Phil smashed his guitar.

:10:05. > :10:08.Solo careers beckon. Ten years later they reunited, the tensions

:10:09. > :10:24.outweighed by what they could only do together. 50 years of heartache,

:10:25. > :10:27.happiness and harmony. Phil Everly, who has died at the age

:10:28. > :10:28.of
