:00:11. > :00:13.Malaysia Airlines flight MH370. It's the third possible identification of

:00:14. > :00:18.wreckage, as the search for the plane enters its third week.

:00:19. > :00:24.A 15-year-old girl shot dead at a house in East London has been named

:00:25. > :00:27.as Shereka Marsh. More than 17,000 people have used

:00:28. > :00:34.the Government's Help to Buy scheme to purchase their own home.

:00:35. > :00:36.And a late goal clinches victory for Spurs against Southampton at White

:00:37. > :00:59.Hart Lane. Good evening. The authorities in

:01:00. > :01:01.Malaysia say they've received more satellite information which may

:01:02. > :01:07.indicate possible debris from a missing passenger plane in the

:01:08. > :01:10.southern Indian Ocean. The data comes from a French satellite. But

:01:11. > :01:14.so far no details of the exact location or size of the debris have

:01:15. > :01:25.been released. Our correspondent Jonathan Head is in Perth where the

:01:26. > :01:33.search is being co-ordinated. Everyday these aircraft, a design

:01:34. > :01:41.dating back 50 years, leave a small airbase to join the search. More

:01:42. > :01:46.keep arriving. These are from Japan. China too is sending substantial

:01:47. > :01:51.forces. These jets are already in Australia and more will follow. All

:01:52. > :01:54.of this to maximise the chance of locating possible debris that has

:01:55. > :02:00.already been seen in satellite images. We have had a number of very

:02:01. > :02:09.credible leads and there is increasing hope, no more than hope,

:02:10. > :02:14.but we might be on the road to discovering what happened to the

:02:15. > :02:21.ill-fated aircraft. Satellite information from bursts hours after

:02:22. > :02:28.the last radio contact makes experts think it ended up in this area, in

:02:29. > :02:32.the southern Indian Ocean, some 1500 miles from Perth. American and

:02:33. > :02:36.Chinese satellites have spotted what could be sections of the plane. We

:02:37. > :02:43.are still awaiting details of the new sighting. But the only way to

:02:44. > :02:47.confirm this is to find it. That is what this New Zealand air force was

:02:48. > :02:51.trying to do when I flew with it yesterday. The plane is bristling

:02:52. > :02:55.with high-tech surveillance equipment. But this kind of

:02:56. > :03:01.searching relies on something more basic, the human eye. It is very

:03:02. > :03:09.tough. You are travelling in an aircraft doing 200mph. You could be

:03:10. > :03:12.as low as 200 feet above the water. The world is whistling past and you

:03:13. > :03:20.are looking for an object among the white capped waves. We have been

:03:21. > :03:23.flying for over three hours and the plane will shortly descend to a few

:03:24. > :03:28.hundred feet above the sea. The crew will move to the windows and start

:03:29. > :03:32.looking out as the aircraft zigzags backwards and forwards across some

:03:33. > :03:36.of the most remote patches of ocean you can find anywhere on this

:03:37. > :03:42.planet. We dropped down to just above the sea. The crew concentrates

:03:43. > :03:48.at the windows, looking for anything out of the ordinary among the waves.

:03:49. > :03:53.The families of those on board the ill-fated flight have an urgent need

:03:54. > :03:58.to know what happened. But so do the rest of us. Somewhere out in the

:03:59. > :04:07.Indian Ocean is the answer to this extraordinary mystery. But in all of

:04:08. > :04:14.the vast see, it may never be found. Jon Donnison is also in Perth for

:04:15. > :04:19.us. This is a huge international operation. It seems the Chinese are

:04:20. > :04:24.much more involved now. I think that is right. The two Chinese military

:04:25. > :04:29.aircraft are just on the Air Force Base behind me. They will fly for

:04:30. > :04:33.the first time in this operation when they take off in a few hours

:04:34. > :04:38.time. Chinese ships are on the way. While there is a lot of talk about

:04:39. > :04:42.the International Corporation in this operation, I think it is fair

:04:43. > :04:47.to say that the Chinese have the most riding on this. More than two

:04:48. > :04:50.thirds of the passengers on board the jet would Chinese and we have

:04:51. > :04:55.seen a lot of anger from the families of those passengers in

:04:56. > :05:02.China. The slowness of resolving this mystery so far. There will be

:05:03. > :05:06.ten planes or more in the air on Monday when the search resumes at

:05:07. > :05:16.dawn in three and a half hours time from now. Many thanks.

:05:17. > :05:19.A 15-year-old girl has been shot dead in Hackney in East London.

:05:20. > :05:21.She's been named as Shereka Marsh. Three teenage boys have been

:05:22. > :05:34.arrested and remain in custody. Nick Beake is in East London for us.

:05:35. > :05:38.All-day Shereka Marsh's friends have been paying tribute to her. In terms

:05:39. > :05:42.of what has happened at this house yesterday, it is by no means clear.

:05:43. > :05:48.Lots of people living in this part of London believe it could have been

:05:49. > :05:54.some kind of accident. Shereka Marsh, a 15-year-old described as a

:05:55. > :05:58.beautiful bubbly girl. Shot at a friend's house after coming back

:05:59. > :06:02.from a shopping trip. Throughout the day in east London, her friends came

:06:03. > :06:09.to leave their tributes. One school friend spoke to Shereka Marsh an

:06:10. > :06:16.hour before she was killed. We were like sisters. We had our life

:06:17. > :06:22.planned together, to go to the same college, go to the same university.

:06:23. > :06:29.I love her and miss her. I can't believe she is gone. As the forensic

:06:30. > :06:35.teams continued their work, a gun was recovered from the house.

:06:36. > :06:40.Detectives were questioning two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old

:06:41. > :06:46.arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder. Her friends and family were

:06:47. > :06:50.looking for answers themselves, why such a bright young life had been

:06:51. > :06:56.taken away. In the past few hours, the police

:06:57. > :07:00.have said a postmortem examination showed Shereka Marsh was killed to a

:07:01. > :07:03.gunshot wound to the neck. As for the three boys arrested yesterday,

:07:04. > :07:12.they remain in police custody this evening.

:07:13. > :07:15.A spokesman for the South African government says a British man

:07:16. > :07:18.accused of arranging the murder of his wife during their honeymoon in

:07:19. > :07:21.Cape Town will be extradited from the UK to face trial next month.

:07:22. > :07:24.Shrien Dewani will arrive in South Africa at the beginning of April. He

:07:25. > :07:29.denies any involvement in the death of his wife Anni who was shot dead

:07:30. > :07:37.in November, 2010. Our correspondent Karen Allen is in Johannesburg. Do

:07:38. > :07:43.we know when a trial might begin? We do not. What I can tell you is that

:07:44. > :07:49.Shrien Dewani is expected in Cape Town on the 8th of April. He will

:07:50. > :07:52.have to be assessed and still formally charged in connection with

:07:53. > :07:57.the murder of Anni Dewani. He maintains that they were hijacked at

:07:58. > :08:04.their car was hijacked and she was shot. The prosecution maintained

:08:05. > :08:08.that he had hired a hit man to kill Anni Dewani. Three men already have

:08:09. > :08:13.been jailed for their part in the murder. What we understand is that

:08:14. > :08:18.it could be some time before there is a trial. They need to assess his

:08:19. > :08:21.fitness to stand trial will stop the South African authorities have

:08:22. > :08:26.maintained they are able to provide safe custody for Shrien Dewani. They

:08:27. > :08:31.have said they will oppose the bail hearing. Tonight I spoke to Anni

:08:32. > :08:37.Dewani's family. They have made it clear they have waited three and a

:08:38. > :08:40.half years for the extradition and they hope very much Shrien Dewani

:08:41. > :08:43.will be fit enough to stand trial and they would not have to wait

:08:44. > :08:54.another three and a half years to see him in the dock.

:08:55. > :08:57.NATO's top military commander in Europe says the alliance is very

:08:58. > :08:59.concerned about the size of the Russian force massed on Ukraine's

:09:00. > :09:02.eastern border. General Philip Breedlove says Moscow is now acting

:09:03. > :09:04.more like an adversary than a partner. His comments came as

:09:05. > :09:07.thousands of people demonstrated in the capital Kiev in support of a

:09:08. > :09:09.united Ukraine. Russia says its troop numbers on the border are

:09:10. > :09:16.within internationally-agreed limits.

:09:17. > :09:19.Turkey has shot down a Syrian military jet close to its border.

:09:20. > :09:21.The Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan says it violated

:09:22. > :09:25.Turkish airspace. Pictures showed smoke rising from the area where the

:09:26. > :09:27.plane hit the ground. Damascus has accused Turkey of blatant

:09:28. > :09:36.aggression, saying the plane had been flying over Syrian territory at

:09:37. > :09:40.the time. A new report says thousands of girls

:09:41. > :09:43.and young women in England and Wales are trapped in gangs and living

:09:44. > :09:45.desperate lives. It comes from the right-leaning think- tank the Centre

:09:46. > :09:48.for Social Justice. Today, a Home Office minister said girls in gangs

:09:49. > :09:50.were being subjected to what he called appalling sexual

:09:51. > :09:57.exploitation. Daniel Boettcher has more.

:09:58. > :10:00.No one knows just how many girls are involved in gangs but this research

:10:01. > :10:08.pane said picture of thousands trapped in a world where some are

:10:09. > :10:14.controlled by sexual violence. The Centre for Social Justice says even

:10:15. > :10:19.the very young are being drawn in. We have had examples of girls as

:10:20. > :10:24.young as eight being dressed in school uniform and being driven

:10:25. > :10:30.along to make it look as though they are being taken to school. In actual

:10:31. > :10:35.fact, they have drugs inside of them and they are being used as careers.

:10:36. > :10:43.I needed somewhere to release my anger. This woman grew up on this

:10:44. > :10:46.estate in South London. She became a gang leader as a teenager and spent

:10:47. > :10:51.time in prison. She now campaigns to stop others following the same

:10:52. > :10:56.path. I have a daughter and I would not like to think her being involved

:10:57. > :11:01.in anything like that. But the way society is now, everything that is

:11:02. > :11:10.wrong and criminal minded seems to be a trend. A vibe kids are

:11:11. > :11:16.following. Following the riots in some cities in England in 2011, the

:11:17. > :11:20.government set up a new strategy to tackle youth and gang violence. The

:11:21. > :11:23.research published today says too little progress has been made over

:11:24. > :11:27.the past three years. With the budget we have got which is a new

:11:28. > :11:32.budget following on from the 2011 report, we are doing quite a lot,

:11:33. > :11:37.targeting very carefully, collecting information from different sources,

:11:38. > :11:42.working with other bodies and I think we are making inroads. There

:11:43. > :11:46.is a major problem which is that it is under the surface. The full

:11:47. > :11:49.extent of the problem is not clear and while the focus has been on

:11:50. > :11:59.young men in gangs, the roles of girls and young women have not been

:12:00. > :12:02.so visible. More than 17,000 people have bought

:12:03. > :12:05.properties using the Government's Help to Buy scheme over the past

:12:06. > :12:07.nine months. Most have been first-time buyers. Labour says

:12:08. > :12:12.rising demand needs to be met by building new homes. Judith Moritz

:12:13. > :12:16.reports. This couple moved into their five

:12:17. > :12:22.bedroom house at Christmas having bought it through the Help to Buy

:12:23. > :12:25.scheme. Their deposit was 5% of the ?300,000 asking price. The

:12:26. > :12:29.government has lent them 20% which the couple say has made the move

:12:30. > :12:34.possible. We probably would have been looking at a three-bedroom

:12:35. > :12:39.house, maybe taking the first step on the ladder before moving on. With

:12:40. > :12:43.the scheme, we have been able to jump straight into a house that we

:12:44. > :12:48.may well living for the rest of our lives. More than 17,000 homes have

:12:49. > :12:54.been purchased through the scheme since last spring. 114 properties a

:12:55. > :13:00.day are being bought this way will stop 88% of overall sales have been

:13:01. > :13:04.to first-time buyers. What it did do was brought confidence right back

:13:05. > :13:10.into the market. It has driven the whole of the property market. On

:13:11. > :13:14.this development in Lancashire, new houses stand alongside those still

:13:15. > :13:19.being built. Nationally the Labour Party says not enough new homes are

:13:20. > :13:25.being constructed. Critics of the scheme warning could lead to a

:13:26. > :13:29.housing bubble with increasingly odd affordable prices -- unaffordable

:13:30. > :13:35.prices. We asked seeing figures showing how successful it has been

:13:36. > :13:40.to getting people to buy houses for ?150,000, a real success for many

:13:41. > :13:46.people on low and middle incomes. 80% helping first-time buyers. An

:13:47. > :13:49.awful lot of it leading to new homes being constructed. Shares in

:13:50. > :13:53.house-building companies rose this week when the part of the scheme

:13:54. > :13:58.which deals with new homes was extended until 2020. The government

:13:59. > :14:07.says help to buy is a key part of its long-term economic plan.

:14:08. > :14:11.With all the sport, here's Katherine Downes at the BBC Sport Centre.

:14:12. > :14:16.Tottenham beat Southampton at White Hart Lane. Tim Sherwood watched the

:14:17. > :14:21.first half-hour from the directors box claiming it gave him a better

:14:22. > :14:27.view. At full-time, he could not contain his delight on the sideline

:14:28. > :14:30.after a testing time. After a brief honeymoon period,

:14:31. > :14:35.there are whispers Tim Sherwood's relationship with Spurs could break

:14:36. > :14:39.down. Tottenham's midweek exit from Europe followed two straight league

:14:40. > :14:43.defeats. Their start here suggested all is not well. Especially in

:14:44. > :14:50.defence. First Jay Rodriguez exploited a gaping chasm in the back

:14:51. > :14:55.four. Then an inept touch let in Adam Lallana. Both goals would have

:14:56. > :15:01.been noted by watching England's manager Roy Hodgson. Tottenham

:15:02. > :15:07.Claude a goal back through Christian Eriksen. Spurs made its letter of

:15:08. > :15:11.new signings. The acquisition of the Dane is one that seems to have

:15:12. > :15:23.worked. After the equaliser, the force was with Spurs. Spurs might

:15:24. > :15:29.still not be here next season. If Tottenham want passion, they

:15:30. > :15:33.properly have the right man. Five goals at Villa Park where Stoke City

:15:34. > :15:38.beat Aston Villa. Their first away win since August. Aston Villa took

:15:39. > :15:43.an early lead but Peter Crouch set up the equaliser for Stoke City.

:15:44. > :15:50.Three minutes later, he was on the scoresheet himself. It was a 4-1

:15:51. > :15:54.victory. Thousands of Aberdeen fans have lined the streets of the city

:15:55. > :15:59.to watch the Scottish league cup trophy paraded on an open top bus.

:16:00. > :16:04.Aberdeen beat Inverness in a penalty shoot out last weekend to win their

:16:05. > :16:07.first major trophy in 19 years. Leicester produced one of their best

:16:08. > :16:13.performances of the season in Rugby Union's premiership to beat Exeter

:16:14. > :16:18.45-15. England centre opened the scoring for Leicester. The pick of

:16:19. > :16:24.the second half tries was touched down by Adam Tolson. Leicester, the

:16:25. > :16:27.reigning premiership champions, are unbeaten in the league so far this

:16:28. > :16:31.season. Andy Murray has won his third round

:16:32. > :16:37.match in the Masters series in Miami. He beat Feliciano Lopez.

:16:38. > :16:44.Murray is the defending champion and he won in straight sets. He will

:16:45. > :16:48.play Jo-Wilfried Tsonga next. England's Laura Massaro is the new

:16:49. > :16:52.world Squash Champion. She won the title this morning in a dramatic

:16:53. > :16:59.final in Malaysia. She is the first artist champion for 15 years. --

:17:00. > :17:00.first British champion. That is it for
