:00:29. > :00:33.Sudan's Foreign Ministry says that a Christian woman sentenced to death

:00:34. > :00:36.for refusing to convert to Islam will be released from prison. The

:00:37. > :00:39.BBC has been told she could be freed within days. There has been

:00:40. > :00:44.widespread international condemnation of the treatment of

:00:45. > :00:45.Meriam Ibrahim, who gave birth to a daughter in her prison cell this

:00:46. > :00:54.week. From Sudan this afternoon, the first

:00:55. > :00:59.sign that international outrage may save the life of Meriam Ibrahim. Her

:01:00. > :01:03.husband, Dani Wani, a Christian and American citizen, is in the country

:01:04. > :01:08.to try to rescue her. The couple, here, on their wedding day. She was

:01:09. > :01:11.raised as a Christian, but her father was a Muslim. She has been

:01:12. > :01:19.sentenced to death for renouncing Islam. Dani Wani has recently been

:01:20. > :01:23.to visit her in jail. TRANSLATION: Her psychological condition seems to

:01:24. > :01:27.be slightly better. The girl, of course, she is still small but in

:01:28. > :01:34.good health. An image from inside the prison. Dani Wani, cradling his

:01:35. > :01:39.new daughter. She was born in the cell this week, while her mother was

:01:40. > :01:44.in chains. Earlier, protest outside the court were she was not only

:01:45. > :01:50.sentenced to death for renouncing Islam, but to 100 lashes for

:01:51. > :01:53.adultery, since her Christian marriage is not considered valid

:01:54. > :01:57.here. The case has prompted international condemnation. Britain

:01:58. > :02:03.cannot threaten to withdraw aid, because none of it goes directly to

:02:04. > :02:10.Sudan's authoritarian government it has been edging the leadership to

:02:11. > :02:12.show restraint. It does nothing for Sudan's International reputation, a

:02:13. > :02:18.reputation that needs to be rebuilt. They are holding a national

:02:19. > :02:20.dialogue, trying to engage with politicians to engage their

:02:21. > :02:25.political process. This could be a positive first step to ensure that

:02:26. > :02:30.she is released on humanitarian grounds and is allowed to have the

:02:31. > :02:34.religion she chooses. Sudan's Constitution guarantees religious

:02:35. > :02:37.freedom. Within the last few hours, a senior Sudanese official has told

:02:38. > :02:43.the BBC his government will overrule the sharia court and ensure that

:02:44. > :02:49.Meriam Ibrahim is released in the coming days. Encouraging news for

:02:50. > :02:50.one family. But in Sudan, women and religious minorities still face

:02:51. > :02:56.serious discrimination. Police in Dorset investigating

:02:57. > :02:58.the disappearance of a nurse, have found a body hidden

:02:59. > :03:00.in a car in Bournemouth. Rui Li was last seen

:03:01. > :03:03.after finishing work at Poole Two men have been arrested

:03:04. > :03:07.on suspicion of murder. From Bournemouth,

:03:08. > :03:18.here's Jannat Jalil. The body was found late last night,

:03:19. > :03:23.one week after Rui Li was last seen alive. It had been hidden in a Fiat

:03:24. > :03:27.punto, parked in a quiet residential street, around five miles from her

:03:28. > :03:32.home. Forensics officers had been examining the car and surrounding

:03:33. > :03:36.area. Colleagues describe the 44-year-old nurse as a conscientious

:03:37. > :03:42.professional with a gentle nature. Two men, a father and son, aged 60

:03:43. > :03:45.and 26, who detectives say new nurse, had been arrested on

:03:46. > :03:50.suspicion of murder and are being questioned. A CCTV image of Rui Li

:03:51. > :03:53.driving her Porsche, with personalised number plates, as she

:03:54. > :03:57.left work last week, has been released in the hope it will jog

:03:58. > :04:01.memories. We need to find out a lot about her life, her family,

:04:02. > :04:05.background and friends. Just because we found a body, does not mean that

:04:06. > :04:08.this investigation is anywhere near being over at this time. The body

:04:09. > :04:13.has not yet been identified, but Dorset Police say they believe it is

:04:14. > :04:18.that of the missing nurse. Although she was last seen alive on Friday,

:04:19. > :04:22.she was not reported missing until Tuesday. Officers say it is

:04:23. > :04:25.absolutely crucial to the investigation to establish where she

:04:26. > :04:30.was over the bank holiday weekend. The car where the body was found has

:04:31. > :04:33.now been taken away for further examination. Police have searched

:04:34. > :04:38.several addresses in Bournemouth and are appealing for anyone with

:04:39. > :04:39.information about either of the cars or Rui Li's personal life to contact

:04:40. > :04:43.them. There are reports that a number

:04:44. > :04:46.of people have been injured, after being struck by a vehicle at a rally

:04:47. > :04:49.car event in the Scottish Borders. Police and ambulance crews are

:04:50. > :04:51.at the scene.The accident happened during the

:04:52. > :04:53.Jim Clark Rally,at Little Swinton The family of a man from London

:04:54. > :04:59.who's missing in Malaysia, have called for more to be done to

:05:00. > :05:02.help find him. Gareth Huntley who's 34,

:05:03. > :05:04.hasn't been seen since Tuesday. He disappeared while on a walk

:05:05. > :05:07.on the small island of Tioman, where he'd been working with

:05:08. > :05:22.a conservation group. His mother has urged David Cameron

:05:23. > :05:27.to intervene. If he could contact the Malaysian authorities, to ensure

:05:28. > :05:31.that everything possible is being done, any pressure, anything that

:05:32. > :05:33.will help to get people out there looking for Gareth. Anything he can

:05:34. > :05:39.do. Edinburgh's new tram service has

:05:40. > :05:41.finally opened for business, three years late

:05:42. > :05:48.and ?200 million over budget. At one stage, there were calls for

:05:49. > :05:49.the whole thing to be scrapped as the cost grew to more than ?770

:05:50. > :05:59.million. This is a day many in Edinburgh

:06:00. > :06:01.thought they would never see. For some, it was a celebration after

:06:02. > :06:11.years of controversy. It is here now, I think we have to

:06:12. > :06:16.embrace it and make the most of it. I don't think there is any debate if

:06:17. > :06:21.they are a good idea any more. The kids seem to enjoy going on them. It

:06:22. > :06:25.has taken six years of drilling, digging and disruption to build this

:06:26. > :06:30.tram network. A bitter dispute between the company in charge and

:06:31. > :06:35.the contractor caused delays. Costs doubled and businesses say they lost

:06:36. > :06:39.trade. The pain for some might not be over. If these trams proved

:06:40. > :06:44.popular, and they have already needed extra services today, there

:06:45. > :06:46.are plans to extend the line all the way to Leith on the outskirts of

:06:47. > :06:53.Edinburgh. That might prove controversial. I'm really concerned

:06:54. > :06:58.that the disruption, returns. Other people of Edinburgh, please don't

:06:59. > :07:03.let this happen again. Why is the City Council so determined to make

:07:04. > :07:08.this work? In a city that can't take any more cars, what we are trying to

:07:09. > :07:13.do is encourage people to use public transport. This is part of that

:07:14. > :07:17.package. On the first day, the new trams have proved to be very

:07:18. > :07:20.popular. The curious crammed on to see if the project had been worth

:07:21. > :07:31.the high price tag. Operators will hope that the novelty will not wear

:07:32. > :07:35.off. An American soldier held by the Taliban in Afghanistan for three

:07:36. > :07:39.years has been freed. Officials say Bowe Bergdahl was handed over in

:07:40. > :07:44.good health. He was freed in a deal that included the release of five

:07:45. > :07:50.Afghan detail is from Guantanamo Bay. They were handed over to A*,

:07:51. > :07:52.which mediated the transfer. He was the only US soldier being held by

:07:53. > :07:55.the Taliban in Afghanistan. There's been

:07:56. > :07:57.a dramatic conclusion to the A try in the very last minute

:07:58. > :08:01.of extra time saw Northampton crowned Champions,

:08:02. > :08:03.after victory over Saracens in the Premiership final at Twickenham.

:08:04. > :08:13.Here's Olly Foster. Saracens had been circling this

:08:14. > :08:17.trophy, topping the league in the regular season and favourites at

:08:18. > :08:21.Twickenham. With Northampton Saints more sinister begin with, Owen

:08:22. > :08:25.Farrell punish them. He scored from distance. Saints threatened the try

:08:26. > :08:29.line. Ben Foden gave them a half-time lead. Farrell briefly

:08:30. > :08:35.kicked Saracens back in front. But Stephen Myler's boot was more

:08:36. > :08:38.reductive, as he chipped through four George Pisi. Saracens were kept

:08:39. > :08:45.at bay with some big hits. At Saints really needed to bash and Bosch.

:08:46. > :08:50.Marcelo Bosch, with the try. This would have won it, but a long, hard

:08:51. > :08:56.season was stretched by another 20 minutes. Two successful Hodgson

:08:57. > :08:59.kicks butt Sarries ahead. But in the final minute, Alex Waller somehow

:09:00. > :09:04.grounded the ball on the line. Sarries were sunk. Northampton's

:09:05. > :09:05.first premiership title settled by no more than an inch with seconds to

:09:06. > :09:16.spare. In cricket, Sri Lanka have won

:09:17. > :09:19.the 4th One Day international Century from Kumar Sangakkara

:09:20. > :09:23.helped the tourists to 300 for 9. It leaves the sides even

:09:24. > :09:39.at 2-2 going into Tuesday's fifth The main news: Sudan's Foreign

:09:40. > :09:43.Ministry told the BBC that a woman sentenced to death for refusing to

:09:44. > :09:45.convert from Christianity to Islam will be released within days.

:09:46. > :09:48.There's more throughout the evening on the BBC News Channel.
