:00:22. > :00:25.President Obama has been taking questions from young people

:00:26. > :00:27.at an event in London as he continues his UK

:00:28. > :00:30.visit which has been dominated by his intervention

:00:31. > :00:35.He urged his audience to reject cynicism and calls to pull

:00:36. > :00:37.back from the world, and praised the special

:00:38. > :00:50.between the United States and Britain.

:00:51. > :00:53.There is not a challenge on this planet that our two countries don't

:00:54. > :00:56.And as long as your generation nurtures that

:00:57. > :00:58.special relationship and learns from one another

:00:59. > :01:00.and stands together, I'm confident the future is brighter

:01:01. > :01:03.than the past and that our best days are still ahead of us.

:01:04. > :01:05.Let's go now to our correspondent Christian Fraser.

:01:06. > :01:12.He was there. What has been the reaction to him today? This was a

:01:13. > :01:16.much more intimate affair than the press conference yesterday. What the

:01:17. > :01:20.Americans called a town hall meeting, 500 people sitting around

:01:21. > :01:24.the president freely asking whatever questions they wanted. He was at

:01:25. > :01:29.home in this setting, his shirt sleeves rolled up, his jacket off,

:01:30. > :01:33.listening intently to young people. Interesting that was not one

:01:34. > :01:37.question on the future of Britain in Europe. This audience was more

:01:38. > :01:42.focused on global issues, marriage equality, equal rights, civil rights

:01:43. > :01:46.movement in the US, climate change, these things. The nearest we got to

:01:47. > :01:50.the European debate was the president urging them to think

:01:51. > :02:02.globally, not parochially. He likes to listen to young people

:02:03. > :02:13.because he said yesterday about the EU. Very much so, the Times said it

:02:14. > :02:17.was laced with menace. We have seen an angry reaction from Brexit

:02:18. > :02:21.supporters about his involvement. Boris Johnson saying it was

:02:22. > :02:25.irrelevant, inconsistent, hypocritical. And Liam Fox on

:02:26. > :02:30.Newsnight last might saying he talked about the friendship between

:02:31. > :02:34.the two countries and then if we voted to leave the European Union

:02:35. > :02:41.we'd be taken out for, in his words, a punishment beating. Strong words.

:02:42. > :02:45.The Remain Campbell hope the president can energise their

:02:46. > :02:48.campaign. It suggests that the young people are much closer to Europe and

:02:49. > :02:51.feel part of it. If he can do that he'll have had a very good couple of

:02:52. > :02:54.days. Thank you, Christian. More than 100,000 patients

:02:55. > :02:56.are expected to have their treatment disrupted as a result of next week's

:02:57. > :02:59.strike by junior doctors, Tuesday and Wednesday will see

:03:00. > :03:02.the first full walkout in the history of the NHS by junior

:03:03. > :03:04.doctors including those working Our Health Correspondent

:03:05. > :03:10.Sophie Hutchinson reports. Junior doctors during

:03:11. > :03:14.the last strikes. Next week they will be joined

:03:15. > :03:17.by their colleagues who would have been working

:03:18. > :03:24.in areas of emergency care. But NHS England says

:03:25. > :03:26.all hospitals are now ready They say plans are in place

:03:27. > :03:31.to ensure the safety of services. It is concerning to have doctors

:03:32. > :03:35.withdraw urgent emergency care. Nevertheless, hospitals have put

:03:36. > :03:42.in place arrangements to make sure that A, intensive care,

:03:43. > :03:44.maternity, those critical Almost 113,000 outpatient

:03:45. > :04:02.appointments have been That is more than twice as many

:04:03. > :04:10.operations as for previous strikes, Sources close to the Government have

:04:11. > :04:12.said a longer planning process had been necessary because of

:04:13. > :04:14.the unprecedented nature The doctors' union, the BMA has said

:04:15. > :04:27.it regrets the disruption. At least eight people have been

:04:28. > :04:31.killed in rural Ohio It's believed the victims,

:04:32. > :04:33.seven adults and one teenager, Three young children

:04:34. > :04:36.survived the shootings. It's understood the suspect

:04:37. > :04:43.is still at large. The singer was found

:04:44. > :04:46.dead on his estate Events are being held

:04:47. > :05:00.across the UK and beyond to mark the death -
