:00:21. > :00:25.The World Health Organisation has rejected a call by health experts

:00:26. > :00:28.for the Brazil Olympics to be postponed, in order to halt

:00:29. > :00:35.150 specialists have written to the WHO, warning that the Games

:00:36. > :00:41.may accelerate the transmission of Zika to tropical countries.

:00:42. > :00:44.The virus is carried by mosquitoes and linked to severe birth defects.

:00:45. > :00:46.Our correspondent Will Ross reports.

:00:47. > :00:49.In less than ten weeks, the Olympic Games are due to be

:00:50. > :00:53.There has already been political turmoil in the run-up

:00:54. > :00:57.to the great sporting event, but now the Zika virus is centre stage.

:00:58. > :01:02.The trigger to the latest controversy

:01:03. > :01:05.was a letter from more than 150 scientists and experts calling for

:01:06. > :01:11.They say the risk of infection from the Zika

:01:12. > :01:12.virus is too high for the

:01:13. > :01:15.Games to go ahead because half a million people are expected

:01:16. > :01:24.Some of those people who come will pick up the virus and

:01:25. > :01:27.they will go home to other countries where mosquitoes can pick

:01:28. > :01:35.and transfer it to the next person, the next person and the next person.

:01:36. > :01:40.Meaning the Olympics can make a global epidemic in many countries.

:01:41. > :01:43.Most people who get Zika only have mild symptoms, but it can cause

:01:44. > :01:48.babies to have abnormally small brains.

:01:49. > :01:51.And, can lead to possible nervous system disorders.

:01:52. > :01:53.In their letter, the scientists argue if the

:01:54. > :01:56.Games are postponed it will give a chance for the Zika carrying

:01:57. > :02:02.But the World Health Organisation says

:02:03. > :02:05.moving the date or The Games would do little to stop the spread of

:02:06. > :02:08.The disease is already spreading across the western

:02:09. > :02:15.It will be in the Gulf Coast of the United States.

:02:16. > :02:17.It has moved already into Africa and will

:02:18. > :02:22.possibly move into southern Europe and it will go to Asia.

:02:23. > :02:26.The Olympic torch is already on its journey

:02:27. > :02:29.around Brazil and it seems unlikely the Games would be halted at this

:02:30. > :02:36.The former Labour leader Ed Miliband has called on young people

:02:37. > :02:38.to register to vote in next month's EU referendum.

:02:39. > :02:40.He's warned that three-and-a-half million young voters are not

:02:41. > :02:43.on the electoral roll, and their absence could lead

:02:44. > :02:48.The Vote Leave campaign say Mr Miliband's comments are cynical

:02:49. > :02:59.Our political correspondent Chris Mason has more.

:03:00. > :03:06.Younger activists for Ukip meeting in London this morning. Three and a

:03:07. > :03:10.half million people under 35 are not currently registered to vote. The

:03:11. > :03:15.deadline to sign up to have a say in the referendum is a week on Tuesday.

:03:16. > :03:20.We need events like this to get young people out to campaign for us

:03:21. > :03:26.to leave the European Union and encourage people like myself to vote

:03:27. > :03:29.Leave on June the 23rd. We are trying to convince them it is the

:03:30. > :03:33.most important thing they can take part in because it determines the

:03:34. > :03:38.future of the country. Remember him? Ed Miliband is back and his plea for

:03:39. > :03:45.young people to vote is not merely public spirited. The polls suggest

:03:46. > :03:51.and I am sceptical about polls, but there is a clear pattern that young

:03:52. > :03:54.people by 3-1 are likely to vote Remain. I am saying today older

:03:55. > :04:01.people should heed the wisdom of the young. This Leave campaign is

:04:02. > :04:06.encouraging people to vote and said it makes sense to back Out.

:04:07. > :04:09.Because... It will slow down the massive growth in house price

:04:10. > :04:15.inflation. If I were young and looking to get a job and perhaps a

:04:16. > :04:19.home, voting for Brexit would seem the obvious choice. As the campaign

:04:20. > :04:21.rolls on, both sides know just how much is at stake and so every vote

:04:22. > :04:24.counts. Tony Blair has criticised

:04:25. > :04:26.the current Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, saying he doesn't

:04:27. > :04:28.provide any serious answers The former Prime Minister dismissed

:04:29. > :04:35.the idea that Mr Corbyn's election as party leader was a direct

:04:36. > :04:40.reaction to him and his policies. More than a quarter of children

:04:41. > :04:43.referred for mental health support in England last year were turned

:04:44. > :04:46.away, including some who had attempted suicide,

:04:47. > :04:48.according to a new report The review found huge variations

:04:49. > :04:54.in care across the country, with some young people having

:04:55. > :04:58.to wait months for an appointment. Our social affairs correspondent

:04:59. > :05:00.Michael Buchanan reports. Whitney Clark knows

:05:01. > :05:02.the frustrations of mental health The 17-year-old has ADHD but has

:05:03. > :05:09.consistently struggled to It is slow, and you end up

:05:10. > :05:15.seeing them when you So when I have been having problems

:05:16. > :05:22.you can't get an appointment, or it has been slow,

:05:23. > :05:25.or when I see them my problems have So the inconsistency in their

:05:26. > :05:30.systems I think needs addressing. Today's report says too many

:05:31. > :05:34.children are being let down. It found that 28% of young people

:05:35. > :05:37.referred to mental health In one area, 75% of referrals

:05:38. > :05:43.were not deemed to be And 13% with life-threatening

:05:44. > :06:09.conditions, including It cannot be right that children in

:06:10. > :06:14.different parts of the country are getting better support. Ministers

:06:15. > :06:17.say they will improve services by increasing investment and

:06:18. > :06:19.introducing waiting time standards for all children's mental health

:06:20. > :06:21.conditions. Some of the first paying passengers

:06:22. > :06:24.on the world's biggest cruise ship have described it as a construction

:06:25. > :06:26.site and a serious risk Harmony of the Seas left

:06:27. > :06:30.Southampton on Sunday. But a number of passengers have

:06:31. > :06:32.complained that attractions are closed and work

:06:33. > :06:35.on the vessel is still going on. Royal Caribbean Cruises

:06:36. > :06:37.say final finishing touches are being made,

:06:38. > :06:40.and described it as a You can see more on all of today's
