:01:25. > :01:28.Bin Laden agrees to repay millions It's been another golden day

:01:29. > :01:50.for Team GB at the Rio Olympics with Nicola Adams claiming

:01:51. > :01:51.Great Britain's 26th She becomes the first British boxer

:01:52. > :01:57.to successfully defend an Olympic She is now our most successful

:01:58. > :02:02.Olympic amateur boxer. Liam Heath stormed to victory

:02:03. > :02:08.in the men's 200m kayak, taking his But the day has not been

:02:09. > :02:17.without disappointments, with Tom Daley failing to make

:02:18. > :02:20.the final in the diving, despite having been top

:02:21. > :02:21.of the leader board yesterday. Natalie Pirks has a round-up

:02:22. > :02:24.of all the day's events, starting She said she was a bundle

:02:25. > :02:30.of nervous energy. Relaxed and confident,

:02:31. > :02:38.Nicola Adams bounded into the ring with scant regard for the history

:02:39. > :02:44.she was about to make. She had met her opponent,

:02:45. > :02:45.Sarah Ourahmoune four times before In a fast and classy start

:02:46. > :02:54.to the opening rounds, that statistic didn't look

:02:55. > :02:56.much like changing. But the judges gave the third

:02:57. > :03:00.to Ourahmoune and the final round COMMENTATOR: An incredibly

:03:01. > :03:05.tight gold-medal bout. Nicola Adams took the first two

:03:06. > :03:07.rounds easily but after Has she done enough to become

:03:08. > :03:14.the first British boxer since 1924 Ecstatic British celebrations

:03:15. > :03:24.were followed by the Ali shuffle. Star quality to go

:03:25. > :03:29.with the Yorkshire grit. European, world and double Olympic

:03:30. > :03:32.champion, Nicola Adams is now the most accomplished amateur boxer

:03:33. > :03:35.Great Britain has ever had. The last four years of hard week,

:03:36. > :03:38.I have been overwhelmed. Those who have been in her shoes say

:03:39. > :03:52.Adams has written her She did it in 2012 and cemented it

:03:53. > :03:59.here, she can write Her career doesn't stop,

:04:00. > :04:04.it keeps on going. On the podium, a rare

:04:05. > :04:06.display of emotion. The trademark smile

:04:07. > :04:10.replaced with tears. She won't confirm whether this

:04:11. > :04:15.was her last Olympics. But if it was goodbye her

:04:16. > :04:17.legacy will remain. With just one day of action left

:04:18. > :04:22.before the closing ceremony, Team GB have been aiming

:04:23. > :04:25.to match their medal A bronze in the triathlon

:04:26. > :04:29.for Vicky Holland has Andy Swiss reports on another busy

:04:30. > :04:37.day of Olympic action. Britain's golds have come

:04:38. > :04:38.in many different ways. In lane five, Liam Heath,

:04:39. > :04:46.a whirlwind of arms, and over 200 metres he timed

:04:47. > :04:50.it to perfection. After silver in the double,

:04:51. > :04:53.gold in the single. It has been on my mind every single

:04:54. > :05:04.day for the last four years. And then, it is like

:05:05. > :05:11.I switched on to automatic. Also a medal in the women's

:05:12. > :05:12.triathlon, Vicky Holland pipping team-mate Non

:05:13. > :05:17.Stanford to the bronze. Others though were trying to come

:05:18. > :05:19.to terms with success. The women's hockey team,

:05:20. > :05:22.Olympic champions for the first time, after the most dramatic

:05:23. > :05:29.of penalty shootouts. And today their captain told me

:05:30. > :05:33.just how much it meant. To finally stand on top

:05:34. > :05:36.of the podium and sing the national anthem,

:05:37. > :05:38.it is something I have dreamed And it's still going to make me

:05:39. > :05:48.emotional now and forever. But from the ecstasy to the agony,

:05:49. > :05:51.as Tom Daley's hopes That was his lowest scoring

:05:52. > :06:01.dive for eight years. As he finished last

:06:02. > :06:06.in the semifinal. I truly am heartbroken

:06:07. > :06:10.because I really do feel like I am in peak physical condition

:06:11. > :06:12.and I could really go out It is really hard to accept how

:06:13. > :06:17.it went today. If that was painful,

:06:18. > :06:20.though, just watch this. Lutalo Muhammad, one second

:06:21. > :06:27.from gold, before the unthinkable. COMMENTATOR: A headshot in the last

:06:28. > :06:33.second from from Cheick Salla Cisse, His opponent could scarcely believe

:06:34. > :06:42.it and neither could Muhammad. I am so sorry for the people

:06:43. > :06:51.who have stayed up late There was rather more to smile

:06:52. > :07:02.about for Britain's women's sprint relay team, as they took bronze

:07:03. > :07:06.behind champions the USA. But there was only one

:07:07. > :07:11.centre of attention. Usain Bolt, as part of a Jamaican

:07:12. > :07:14.quartet, could he make it three sprint titles in three consecutive

:07:15. > :07:17.Games? The answer was as glorious

:07:18. > :07:19.as it was inevitable. Bolt called it the triple

:07:20. > :07:26.treble, the end of a The perfect finale from

:07:27. > :07:32.sport's ultimate showman. Andy Swiss, BBC News,

:07:33. > :07:37.Rio. So just to confirm the medal

:07:38. > :07:39.position following Team GB remain in second place

:07:40. > :07:46.behind the United States, but ahead of China, with 26 golds,

:07:47. > :07:49.22 silvers and 15 bronze medals. Our sports editor Dan Roan is in

:07:50. > :08:01.Rio tonight. Extraordinary success we have seen,

:08:02. > :08:07.how would you put it into context compared with previous Games?

:08:08. > :08:12.Quite simply, Team GB is on the verge of making history in Rio. We

:08:13. > :08:16.found out several days ago they had enjoyed their best ever away Games

:08:17. > :08:22.and within touching distance of their greatest Olympics ever, home

:08:23. > :08:27.or away, so much for the theory that London 2012's medals were down to

:08:28. > :08:33.home advantage. Proof that Britain is now an Olympic powerhouse and the

:08:34. > :08:39.prospect of more medals, not least Mo Farah in the 5,000 metres later

:08:40. > :08:42.this evening. Joe Joyce in the final of the boxing tomorrow, among

:08:43. > :08:50.others. 20 years ago, in Atlanta, Team GB

:08:51. > :08:56.finished with one gold medal. Whichever number they finish on this

:08:57. > :09:01.time it has been a triumph. They look like the best prepared, best

:09:02. > :09:08.motivated and best resourced of teams. Not everyone agrees with the

:09:09. > :09:13.way UK sport distributes the money to elite sport. There are winners

:09:14. > :09:19.and losers. No doubt it is effective. Andy Murray at Wimbledon,

:09:20. > :09:23.Chris Froome in the tour to France. Arguably Team GB surpasses them all.

:09:24. > :09:27.have died after getting into difficulties in

:09:28. > :09:31.The boy's brother and two adults who tried to help have

:09:32. > :09:38.The sea has also claimed the life of a man in his thirties from Surrey

:09:39. > :09:41.who had been holiday with his family in Cornwall.

:09:42. > :09:43.He and his wife and two-year-old daughter were caught in huge surf

:09:44. > :09:45.after being knocked from rocks at Fistral Beach.

:09:46. > :09:48.From Fistral Beach in Newquay, Andrew Plant, reports

:09:49. > :09:55.50 mile an hour winds make conditions appalling. The family of

:09:56. > :10:00.five from Surrey were fishing from these rocks when the force of the

:10:01. > :10:04.water swept them into the sea. Two children scrambled onto the rocks,

:10:05. > :10:09.the parents and their daughter were unable to swim back in. Horrified

:10:10. > :10:14.onlookers called the coastguard and a rescue helicopter was launched.

:10:15. > :10:18.The mother was pulled from the sea. Her husband and two-year-old

:10:19. > :10:22.daughter pulled onto a lifeboat. The family were treated at dockside and

:10:23. > :10:33.flown to hospital where the dad died a short time later, the two-year-old

:10:34. > :10:35.is in critical condition. Brothers Jacob and were watched as

:10:36. > :10:38.the coastguard fought to save them. We saw the jet ski being launched

:10:39. > :10:41.from astral beach, we knew it wasn't normal because it had a crewman,

:10:42. > :10:45.they had to be going for a rescue. We heard a woman scream in the

:10:46. > :10:50.water. It was quite chilling. We get a lot of fish is on the

:10:51. > :10:56.rocks, so they sit on the rocks. The waves yesterday were really big,

:10:57. > :11:00.families were not expecting it. The coastguard described conditions

:11:01. > :11:04.is treacherous. When the lifeguards arrived, they

:11:05. > :11:10.were met with huge surf waves in the region of ten feet. Fortunately

:11:11. > :11:16.there were people on the headland who could direct them to whether

:11:17. > :11:20.people were in the water and they found the lady, and the man in the

:11:21. > :11:23.water. The lifeguards were able to recover them and administer first

:11:24. > :11:27.aid. The man has not been named, his wife

:11:28. > :11:35.and two other children have minor injuries. The coastguard is warning

:11:36. > :11:42.people not to take risks in stormy conditions.

:11:43. > :11:52.Our Scotland correspondent is in Aberdeen. What we know about this

:11:53. > :11:57.second incident. A mother and her children had been

:11:58. > :12:01.enjoying a reasonable day on the beach. The two boys seemingly

:12:02. > :12:07.playing happily in the water when it would appear the weather took a turn

:12:08. > :12:12.for the worse very quickly. We understand large waves were crashing

:12:13. > :12:17.down around and it was clear both boys got into difficulty. The mother

:12:18. > :12:22.and several people on the beach went in to try to help and several of

:12:23. > :12:25.them got into difficulty as well. A major rescue was launched and five

:12:26. > :12:31.people were pulled from the water, some dragged back to the beach and

:12:32. > :12:37.taken from the water by a lifeboat. They were taken to hospital where

:12:38. > :12:43.the mother and her youngest died, the boy's brother is still in

:12:44. > :12:46.hospital, his condition is being monitored.

:12:47. > :12:49.Thousands of civilians are said to be fleeing the city of Hasakah

:12:50. > :12:51.in north-east Syria as Government forces open up a new front

:12:52. > :12:56.over the city again, despite warnings from the Pentagon.

:12:57. > :13:07.Another exodus from another Syrian city.

:13:08. > :13:09.This is Hasakah where reports say thousands of people have

:13:10. > :13:17.Power supplies have been cut and bread is said to be running out.

:13:18. > :13:23.More than 40 people are believed to have died in the last few days.

:13:24. > :13:26.The war front opened up when Syrian government warplanes started

:13:27. > :13:28.attacking Kurdish forces for the first time.

:13:29. > :13:30.In other parts of Syria, the government and the Kurds

:13:31. > :13:32.are fighting together against Isis, but not here.

:13:33. > :13:35.A spokesman for the Syrian regime said Kurdish forces are trying

:13:36. > :13:37.to take control of the city so government forces had

:13:38. > :13:44.TRANSLATION: Despite all attempts to end the situation,

:13:45. > :13:48.the Syrian Arab Army has been forced to target the sources of gunfire

:13:49. > :13:53.and armed groups responsible for these criminal acts in the city.

:13:54. > :13:55.There were other air strikes in Syria today,

:13:56. > :14:00.believed to have been carried out by government forces.

:14:01. > :14:06.And the Russian military has released these images said to be

:14:07. > :14:08.of cruise missiles launched from ships in the Mediterranean,

:14:09. > :14:10.hitting what it called militant targets.

:14:11. > :14:18.A former member of the American special forces who wrote

:14:19. > :14:21.a bestseller about his role in the killing of Osama Bin Laden

:14:22. > :14:24.has agreed to hand all the profits to the US Government.

:14:25. > :14:25.Matthew Bissonnette, who wrote No Easy Day

:14:29. > :14:30.for clearance before publishing his memoir in 2012.
