:00:25. > :00:28.mourning for the victims of Wednesday's earthquake.

:00:29. > :00:32.Italy's Prime Minister and President were among those who attended

:00:33. > :00:40.the service for 34 victims in the town of Ascoli Piceno.

:00:41. > :00:43.The number of people killed has risen to more than 280

:00:44. > :00:45.after more bodies were recovered overnight.

:00:46. > :00:52.34 coffins lined up in the sports hall of Ascoli Piceno,

:00:53. > :00:54.victims of Wednesday's devastating earthquake.

:00:55. > :00:59.And the number of dead is still rising.

:01:00. > :01:02.Relatives sit next to the coffins and flowers, staring at photos

:01:03. > :01:09.A moment to come together for comfort.

:01:10. > :01:13.Among the families, the emergency services who pulled so many people

:01:14. > :01:16.alive from the rubble in the hours after the quake struck said

:01:17. > :01:25.TRANSLATION: All the firefighters who are here today are the ones

:01:26. > :01:28.who found the people alive straight after the earthquake and pulled them

:01:29. > :01:31.We felt that we wanted to be here for them.

:01:32. > :01:34.Other rescue teams are still looking for people under the rubble,

:01:35. > :01:39.and we will join them as soon as the ceremony ends.

:01:40. > :01:42.Security is tight, as the President, Sergio Mattarella,

:01:43. > :01:49.and Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, joined the congregation.

:01:50. > :01:54.They're all here to pay tribute to those who died in the towns

:01:55. > :02:00.villages that some are saying simply don't exist any more.

:02:01. > :02:03.Meanwhile, the rescue workers continue their search of the rubble.

:02:04. > :02:09.Their grim task is to recover all the victims of the earthquake.

:02:10. > :02:12.Lucy Grey is in Ascoli Piceno, where the funeral ceremony

:02:13. > :02:25.She joins us now. Yes, there has just been a round of

:02:26. > :02:29.applause here as they brought out one of the coffins of one of the

:02:30. > :02:33.victims of this earthquake that struck on Wednesday morning, it was

:02:34. > :02:37.the small white coffin of a little dull. It has been a very emotional

:02:38. > :02:42.service here with the local bishop telling people not to be afraid to

:02:43. > :02:47.cry out in their suffering, he urged them to find the strength to rebuild

:02:48. > :02:50.their homes and communities. The 34 coffins were lined up at the front

:02:51. > :02:54.of the sports hall, the family members sat next to them holding

:02:55. > :02:59.photos of the loved ones they lost. Alongside them was the Prime

:03:00. > :03:03.Minister, Matteo Renzi, and the president, Sergio Mattarella. He was

:03:04. > :03:07.seen afterwards talking to a lot of the relatives and hugging some of

:03:08. > :03:11.them at times. As you heard, there were members of the emergency

:03:12. > :03:14.services here as well who will now go out and read join their

:03:15. > :03:18.colleagues, thousands of them, who are still picking their way through

:03:19. > :03:19.the dusty rocks and ribbons of people's homes.

:03:20. > :03:24.Lucy, thank you. A footbridge has collapsed

:03:25. > :03:26.on the M20 in Kent, It happened between junctions 3

:03:27. > :03:32.and 4 - the motorway Emergency services, included police

:03:33. > :03:37.and Kent Fire and Rescue Service, are on the scene and it is not yet

:03:38. > :03:48.known if anyone has been injured. Amy Cole is with us, what more could

:03:49. > :03:58.you tell others? This information is just coming into

:03:59. > :04:02.us now, developing situation. As you the M20 is closed after the

:04:03. > :04:05.pedestrian bridge crashed onto the motorway between junction three and

:04:06. > :04:09.junction four. It has partly crushed a lorry and possibly another lorry

:04:10. > :04:13.as well. Emergency services including police and Kent Fire and

:04:14. > :04:20.rescue are on the scene as we speak. As you can imagine, social media is

:04:21. > :04:26.having a lot of comments coming through. One has come through from

:04:27. > :04:30.one user, a witness, saying a lorry carrying heavy machinery including a

:04:31. > :04:35.digger seemed to have been driving up the hard shoulder and struck the

:04:36. > :04:43.concrete bridge, which then collapsed. The bridge collapsed,

:04:44. > :04:48.came down on the lorry with heavy machinery and an articulated lorry

:04:49. > :04:50.as well. This person understands the lorry drivers are OK but at this

:04:51. > :04:53.point we don't know what the injuries and casualties are like.

:04:54. > :04:56.The Prime Minister has called for a review of public services

:04:57. > :04:58.as part of a drive to tackle inequality in society.

:04:59. > :05:01.Theresa May said it will look at how ethnic minorities and white working

:05:02. > :05:05.class people are treated in public services.

:05:06. > :05:07.The study, into whether people are treated differently in schools,

:05:08. > :05:10.hospitals and the criminal justice system because of their racial

:05:11. > :05:16.background, will be published next year.

:05:17. > :05:19.The BBC show Casualty celebrates its 30th birthday tonight with a special

:05:20. > :05:25.It's the longest-running British television series of its kind,

:05:26. > :05:28.but the programme has evolved with the times, as our Wales

:05:29. > :05:30.correspondent Tomos Morgan found out when he spent the day on set

:05:31. > :05:38.If the cameras weren't here, you'd be forgiven for thinking this was,

:05:39. > :05:44.on first appearances, a real 21st-century hospital.

:05:45. > :05:48.Over the past 30 years, Casualty has cemented itself

:05:49. > :05:52.as a much-loved BAFTA award-winning BBC drama.

:05:53. > :05:55.The template for the show was put in place by its original producer,

:05:56. > :06:03.Since its first programme in 1986, it struck a chord with the audience,

:06:04. > :06:06.aiming to blend current issues within a hospital environment,

:06:07. > :06:11.a vision that's still being put in practice today.

:06:12. > :06:13.With each new series, the ideas for those accidents have

:06:14. > :06:21.become bigger, culminating in a season finale five years ago

:06:22. > :06:23.with the hospital in ruins - a theatrical end to Casualty's time

:06:24. > :06:30.Five years ago, Casualty moved here to its new studios

:06:31. > :06:33.in Cardiff Bay, a more realistic hospital environment.

:06:34. > :06:37.Over the years, they've had big-name stars working on the programme

:06:38. > :06:43.But many have been here since the programme began.

:06:44. > :06:45.Oscar is one of those, an extra that has seen

:06:46. > :06:50.But why has he stuck with the same old programme

:06:51. > :07:03.The reason why I have stuck with them is because I just love

:07:04. > :07:05.working on Casualty, like I've always done.

:07:06. > :07:08.As it holds on to an audience of over 5 million, Casualty

:07:09. > :07:11.aired its 1000th episode in June - a huge achievement for

:07:12. > :07:15.The 30th anniversary programme, titled Too Old For This Shift,

:07:16. > :07:17.is in its usual slot tonight, with producers promising viewers

:07:18. > :07:29.And you can see that special 30th anniversary episode
