:00:58. > :00:57.clean" and promised to do everything he could to unite the party.

:00:58. > :00:58.Here's our Political Correspondent, Tom Bateman.

:00:59. > :01:27.divided party. They want the endgame to this challenge to Mr

:01:28. > :01:27.divided party. They want the endgame turmoil and a mass exodus of MPs

:01:28. > :01:49.from his top turmoil and a mass exodus of MPs

:01:50. > :01:53.Owen Smith failed and Jeremy Corbyn increased his mandate. I want to

:01:54. > :01:56.thank the more than 300,000 supporters who have given me their

:01:57. > :02:02.support and trust in this labour should leader -- Labour leadership

:02:03. > :02:06.election. I am honoured to have won the majority vote of members,

:02:07. > :02:11.affiliated supporters and registered supporters, who have given me the

:02:12. > :02:15.second mandate in a year to lead our party. This was the victory of the

:02:16. > :02:20.party's huge new membership over the MPs who tried to oust their leader.

:02:21. > :02:25.From a now strengthened Jeremy Corbyn, the call for unity.

:02:26. > :02:29.Elections are passionate and often partisan affairs and things are

:02:30. > :02:35.often sometimes said in the heat of the debate on all sides which we

:02:36. > :02:40.sometimes later come to regret. But always remember in our party, we

:02:41. > :02:47.have much more in common than that which divides us. As far as I'm

:02:48. > :02:52.concerned, let's wipe that slate clean from today and get on with the

:02:53. > :02:59.work that we've got to do as a party, together. Mr Corbyn called

:03:00. > :03:03.for the party to unite in attacking new government policies, in

:03:04. > :03:06.particular calls for more grammar schools. This time next week, we're

:03:07. > :03:09.all going to hit the streets united as a party. I'm calling on Labour

:03:10. > :03:14.Party members all over the country to join us in a national campaign

:03:15. > :03:24.for inclusive education for all, next Saturday. And there was a

:03:25. > :03:34.rallying cry to the membership. Labour is a party brimming full of

:03:35. > :03:53.ideas, of talent, of creativity. And so is this country. Unleashing

:03:54. > :04:01.that potential is the job of all of us. Let us work together for real

:04:02. > :04:09.change in Britain. Thank you very much. The leader's team has said it

:04:10. > :04:14.is prepared to speak to any MP who walked out, offering a cup of tea

:04:15. > :04:20.offensive at the conference. But it may take more than that to win back

:04:21. > :04:25.some of those who want the right to elect Mr Corbyn's top team. In the

:04:26. > :04:29.end understanding comes about through understanding, solidarity.

:04:30. > :04:34.When you hear this talk about the selection of good, hard-working,

:04:35. > :04:36.popular local Labour MPs, I think that is completely

:04:37. > :04:38.counter-productive. So can this party now reunite? That will be a

:04:39. > :04:41.matter of discussion for the delegates in Liverpool. I think the

:04:42. > :04:43.over 500,000 members, anything is possible really. I think the MPs

:04:44. > :04:46.just need to listen to the membership and take note and fight

:04:47. > :04:49.against the Tories. We were talking on the train on the way over from

:04:50. > :04:51.Bradford about what Labour Party values are and one of them is

:04:52. > :04:54.decency and I don't think you could find a more decent person anywhere.

:04:55. > :04:56.The parliamentary Labour Party must get behind him now. Bringing

:04:57. > :05:00.together his MPs with an increasingly left-wing membership...

:05:01. > :05:03.Live now to our Assistant Political Editor, Norman Smith, in Liverpool.

:05:04. > :05:11.Presumably now it is a massive rebuke for those rebellious MPs? I

:05:12. > :05:14.think what we've learned today is that Jeremy Corbyn is now

:05:15. > :05:18.politically bombproof until the next election. There is no realistic

:05:19. > :05:23.prospect of his critics being able to grow by him out. He won with a

:05:24. > :05:28.bigger mandate in every section of the party, amongst ordinary party

:05:29. > :05:33.members, trade unionists, registered supporters... He has increased the

:05:34. > :05:37.size of the party again and got 40,000 new volunteers. He thwarted

:05:38. > :05:42.efforts to keep him off the ballot paper, to stampede him into quitting

:05:43. > :05:45.with frontbenchers resigning. He is here to stay and will lead Labour

:05:46. > :05:51.into the next general election commission or of a political

:05:52. > :05:55.earthquake. But can he unite this party? They're the jury is still

:05:56. > :05:59.out. It does although we had the rhetorical pleas from Mr Corbyn,

:06:00. > :06:04.we've yet to see any bridges being built with his MPs and in particular

:06:05. > :06:08.this idea of allowing them to elect the Shadow Cabinet, which many view

:06:09. > :06:12.as a litmus test of his willingness to reach out. Those close to Mr

:06:13. > :06:15.Corbyn described that idea as a distraction. In other words, it's

:06:16. > :06:20.not going to happen and is probably going to be booted into the long

:06:21. > :06:24.grass, which means two things probably carry on, Jeremy Corbyn

:06:25. > :06:27.carries on and the feuding with his Parliamentary party carries on.

:06:28. > :06:30.Thanks very much. Government forces in Syria have

:06:31. > :06:33.carried out more air strikes on rebel-held areas

:06:34. > :06:35.of the city of Aleppo. The United Nations says nearly

:06:36. > :06:37.2 million people are now without drinking water,

:06:38. > :06:39.after shelling prevented repairs Hospitals are reported to be

:06:40. > :06:45.overwhelmed and aid workers say the city's facing the worst

:06:46. > :06:47.humanitarian crisis in five In America, four women and a man

:06:48. > :06:53.have been shot dead at a shopping centre in the town of Burlington

:06:54. > :06:55.in Washington State. A suspected gunman

:06:56. > :06:57.is still at large. Police have released a picture

:06:58. > :07:00.of a man armed with a rifle. The motive for the attack

:07:01. > :07:06.is not yet known. Here, police are investigating

:07:07. > :07:08.claims that hackers have stolen thousands of photos belonging

:07:09. > :07:10.to Pippa Middleton, the sister of the Duchess

:07:11. > :07:12.of Cambridge. They are said to include

:07:13. > :07:14.pictures of Prince George Our correspondent,

:07:15. > :07:26.Nick Higham, is here. Well, according to the sun, an

:07:27. > :07:30.anonymous seller has been contacting news organisations offering for sale

:07:31. > :07:36.3000 pictures which have been hacked from Pippa Middleton's iCloud

:07:37. > :07:41.account. They reportedly include pictures of Ms Middleton at a

:07:42. > :07:48.fitting for a wedding dress, naked pictures of her fiance, James

:07:49. > :07:52.Matthews, and pictures of her sister Kate and their children. Very

:07:53. > :07:56.unlikely anyone in this country is going to accept this offer, it would

:07:57. > :08:01.be a clear invasion of privacy. But they might sell them abroad and

:08:02. > :08:06.publish there. Not the first time that celebrities's iCloud accounts

:08:07. > :08:11.have been hacked. You may recall the actress Jennifer Lawrence, from the

:08:12. > :08:15.Hunger Games, explicit pictures of her circulating on the Internet and

:08:16. > :08:19.she condemned that. No comment as yet from Willie mon Kate, who are en

:08:20. > :08:21.route to Canada as we speak, to start a royal tour later today.

:08:22. > :08:24.Thanks very much. Now, let's have a look

:08:25. > :08:26.at what's been happening With the details, here's Mike

:08:27. > :08:30.Bushell at the BBC Sport Centre. Manchester United captain

:08:31. > :08:32.Wayne Rooney was dropped to the bench for today's early

:08:33. > :08:36.kick-off against Rooney's form has been called

:08:37. > :08:41.into question and manager Jose Mourinho said his place

:08:42. > :08:43.in the starting line-up So, Mourinho made eight changes

:08:44. > :08:52.to the side that beat Northampton In his bid to avoid a third straight

:08:53. > :08:56.defeat in the league. So far so good for United. Captain for the day

:08:57. > :09:04.Chris Smalling put United 1-0 up from a corner after a cracking ball

:09:05. > :09:06.from Daley Blind. Juan Mata then started and finished Taylor of Lee

:09:07. > :09:09.moved to make it 2-0. Elsewhere this afternoon,

:09:10. > :09:11.leaders Manchester City are at Swansea for the second time

:09:12. > :09:14.in a week, this time The other stand-out game

:09:15. > :09:19.is at the Emirates, The Gunners' recent record

:09:20. > :09:23.against their London But Arsene Wenger says now is a good

:09:24. > :09:38.time for that to change. It is a good era but a bit more

:09:39. > :09:45.balanced against. We feel we are in good form and able to change what we

:09:46. > :09:49.call the inconvenient facts of recent years. It is now 3-0 to

:09:50. > :09:50.Manchester United at Old Trafford against Leicester, Marcus Rashford

:09:51. > :09:55.with the third goal. The trainer and uncle of British

:09:56. > :10:00.world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury says he will not,

:10:01. > :10:05.and should not, be stripped of his belts, after postponing his rematch

:10:06. > :10:07.with Wladimir Klitschko Peter Fury says a statement

:10:08. > :10:11.on the fighter's health would be coming soon,

:10:12. > :10:15.after his promoters declared he was "medically unfit"

:10:16. > :10:17.for the contest, at BBC boxing pundit Steve Bunce says

:10:18. > :10:24.he fears Fury may lose his belts. A great shame and I can see him

:10:25. > :10:29.being stripped because he won it in November and if he is injured, they

:10:30. > :10:39.could say OK, you become the recess champion, let Wladimir fight him in

:10:40. > :10:40.May. I can't see both of the sanctioning bodies not wanting to

:10:41. > :10:45.nick a feud with this year. For Great Britain, cycling

:10:46. > :10:47.on the track and the road has been hugely successful,

:10:48. > :10:49.in both the Olympic But there's another discipline

:10:50. > :10:52.that British riders are pretty good at,

:10:53. > :10:57.and that's yet to become an Olympic sport - I'm talking

:10:58. > :11:00.downhill mountain biking. Dan Atherton is one of three

:11:01. > :11:02.siblings who can boast OJ Borg went to see him

:11:03. > :11:14.and his challenging creation! When you find yourself Nehra mode

:11:15. > :11:18.Welsh mountainside for an event that calls itself the hardest in the

:11:19. > :11:22.world, you know you're about to witness something epic! This is the

:11:23. > :11:27.third running of the Red Bull Hardline. Riders approach with a

:11:28. > :11:34.heady mix of excitement and genuine apprehension. A bit of fear and

:11:35. > :11:38.nervousness is good sometimes. Hardline is the twisted fantasy of

:11:39. > :11:43.one of the UK's best riders, Dan Atherton. Why build a course so

:11:44. > :11:52.tough? I ask myself that every morning! This course is so gnarly.

:11:53. > :11:56.Last year over 50% who started managed to injure themselves in some

:11:57. > :12:00.way. The man who won last year had this crash on the way to winning the

:12:01. > :12:06.event. So why put their bodies on the line? Although it might look

:12:07. > :12:10.pretty terrifying as a spectator, it's amazing fun and something quite

:12:11. > :12:15.unique. If you lose focus going into it, you're toast. The person who

:12:16. > :12:22.built the course, Dan Atherton, could only finish 13th. So

:12:23. > :12:26.individual and a lot of people come out to watch, it's so awesome to

:12:27. > :12:34.win, the hardest downhill race in the world. If you fancy finding out

:12:35. > :12:38.more, you can see it on the get inspired website. Personally, I'm

:12:39. > :12:39.going to start with something just a little smaller. Now, how do I get

:12:40. > :12:41.down? Jeremy Corbyn has been re-elected

:12:42. > :12:47.Labour leader, and by a bigger The next news here

:12:48. > :12:52.on BBC One is at 5.20pm.
