:02:53. > :02:55.supremacists gathered for a Valley Dodt a rally. The group, which
:02:56. > :03:00.included members of the Klu Klux Klan said they wanted to take
:03:01. > :03:05.America back. Antiracism activists challenge them. Police tried to
:03:06. > :03:12.disperse the crowd but this day was not to end peacefully. A car, at
:03:13. > :03:17.speed, rammed into protesters. Shocked witnesses captured the
:03:18. > :03:21.aftermath. The crash killed 32-year-old Heather Hayek, who had
:03:22. > :03:25.fought races all her adult life. Many others are still being treated
:03:26. > :03:29.in hospital. Those who captured the scene on camera said they were not
:03:30. > :03:34.shocked the day ended in tragedy. The police have charged a
:03:35. > :03:39.20-year-old James Alex Field studio with second-degree murder. The Nazis
:03:40. > :03:43.who came to town yesterday clearly had the intent of causing violence.
:03:44. > :03:46.You don't come to town with shields and Helmut and weapons and have a
:03:47. > :03:51.militia with automatic or semiautomatic weapons around their
:03:52. > :03:57.shoulders if you are here to peacefully express an opinion.
:03:58. > :04:00.Others say the scenes do not represent Charlottesville, and they
:04:01. > :04:05.want politicians to challenge those responsible. It is important to call
:04:06. > :04:08.these people what they are, white supremacists. I don't understand why
:04:09. > :04:12.that is so difficult, that is what they are. They are not hiding this
:04:13. > :04:17.behind a statue, they didn't come here because of a statue, they came
:04:18. > :04:19.here because just as David Jukes said yesterday they came here to
:04:20. > :04:24.fulfil the promise of President Trump and take their country back.
:04:25. > :04:28.This city did not want bigotry on its streets. Its people and I want
:04:29. > :04:31.to remember those who died trying to challenge it and to keep the peace.

:04:49. > :04:53.being brought here, there is anger, as you have just heard. Many feel
:04:54. > :04:56.that Mr Trump's condemnation of the violence there yesterday did not go
:04:57. > :05:03.far enough. He did not explicitly named the old red groups. -- out
:05:04. > :05:07.right groups. Criticism has even come from within his own party, one
:05:08. > :05:13.Republican senator said that the president must call evil by its
:05:14. > :05:17.name. This was domestic terrorism. The White House has come back with a
:05:18. > :05:24.statement, they said that of course the president wanted to condemn all
:05:25. > :05:28.groups, including the KKK, neo-Nazis and white supremacists, and general

:06:24. > :06:27.in March 2019 have been clear. Today, though, a united front,
:06:28. > :06:30.writing a joint peace in the Sunday Telegraph, they say there must not
:06:31. > :06:35.be a cliff edge break when Britain leaves the EU in March 20 19. They
:06:36. > :06:40.will seek a time-limited transition period with the EU. A victory for
:06:41. > :06:44.Philip Hammond. But during this period, Britain will leave the EU
:06:45. > :06:48.single market and the customs union. A win from this the fox. I think it
:06:49. > :06:52.is actually very encouraging because of the last three or four weeks we

:07:54. > :07:57.publish its formal position paper on the issue, expected to give plans to
