:02:08. > :02:14.It's our duty to establish what happened.

:02:15. > :02:21.The M1 motorway, one of Britain's busiest sections of road,

:02:22. > :02:23.was closed here for ten hours on a bank holiday weekend

:02:24. > :02:26.that was always going to see high levels of traffic with people

:02:38. > :02:45.Exactly what caused this devastating crash remains under investigation.

:02:46. > :02:54.This evening the two lorry drivers remain in custody while doctors will

:02:55. > :02:57.be fighting to save the lives of those including the little girl with

:02:58. > :03:03.life-threatening injuries. The police investigation is likely to

:03:04. > :03:06.focus on ---cam evidence, talking to witnesses, possibly even mobile

:03:07. > :03:12.phone records and markings on the road. That evidence is unlikely to

:03:13. > :03:13.emerge for quite some time, possibly until court proceedings are

:03:14. > :03:16.completed. Scotland Yard says a man

:03:17. > :03:18.who attacked police officers close to Buckingham Palace last night

:03:19. > :03:21.drove directly at a police car before reaching

:03:22. > :03:24.for a four-foot sword. The 26-year-old man

:03:25. > :03:26.from Luton, is said to have shouted "God is great"

:03:27. > :03:28.as he launched his assault, Concerned tourists looked

:03:29. > :03:36.on after reports of a terror incident at one of the country's

:03:37. > :03:43.most high-profile destinations. London's Metropolitan Police say

:03:44. > :03:46.that around 8:30pm last night a blue Toyota Prius was deliberately driven

:03:47. > :03:48.into a marked police car in a restricted area

:03:49. > :03:50.near Buckingham Palace. The car stopped and when officers

:03:51. > :03:52.went to investigate they were attacked by a suspect

:03:53. > :03:55.with a four foot sword. CS gas was used as

:03:56. > :03:57.part of the arrest. And during the struggle

:03:58. > :04:00.the individual repeatedly shouted The individual was quickly

:04:01. > :04:05.brought under control. He's a 26-year-old male

:04:06. > :04:08.from the Luton area. I'm glad to say he is now in custody

:04:09. > :04:12.at a central London police station. Detectives believe this

:04:13. > :04:13.was an isolated incident, but confirmed there are searches

:04:14. > :04:16.going on at an address We now know that three police

:04:17. > :04:19.officers were injured No members of the Royal Family

:04:20. > :04:26.were present in the palace at the time, and an official has

:04:27. > :04:29.confirmed it is business as usual Two of the officers involved have

:04:30. > :04:35.been treated in hospital and have There is heightened security

:04:36. > :04:38.across the capital over the bank holiday weekend,

:04:39. > :04:41.particularly for events like the Notting Hill Carnival,

:04:42. > :04:45.where a ring of steel has been promised to protect people

:04:46. > :04:48.from a Barcelona style attack. Meanwhile, police are still

:04:49. > :04:49.appealing for information Spain's King Felipe has joined

:04:50. > :05:03.a march in Barcelona to denounce last week's terror attacks that left

:05:04. > :05:05.15 people dead. He joined thousands of demonstrators

:05:06. > :05:07.who carried banners with the slogan They held yellow and red flowers -

:05:08. > :05:13.the colours of Barcelona. The King's the first Spanish

:05:14. > :05:15.sovereign to take part in a rally since the monarchy

:05:16. > :05:22.was re-established in 1975. Two men have died after their tiger

:05:23. > :05:24.moth biplane crashed The historic plane came

:05:25. > :05:27.down near Compton Abbas Police said the pilot

:05:28. > :05:32.and his passenger were The Air Accident Investigation

:05:33. > :05:39.Branch has been informed. Hurricane Harvey has hit the Texas

:05:40. > :05:41.coastline with winds It's the most powerful storm

:05:42. > :05:45.to hit the US mainland The high winds have caused dozens

:05:46. > :05:49.of injuries with some residents feared to be trapped

:05:50. > :05:51.in collapsed buildings. Tens of thousands of homes

:05:52. > :05:53.are without power and there are warnings of flooding

:05:54. > :05:55.in several areas. Our correspondent James Cook

:05:56. > :06:07.is in the city of Corpus Christi. He has an update for us. We're only

:06:08. > :06:12.just beginning to understand the impact of hurricane Harvey. So far

:06:13. > :06:15.thankfully no reports of deaths, but people are still going door to door

:06:16. > :06:19.and checking on friends and neighbours in damaged houses like

:06:20. > :06:22.this one. At the same time, the torrential rain is now moving

:06:23. > :06:26.inland, meaning the authorities are having to deal with the problem of

:06:27. > :06:35.flooding as well as the damage from vicious storm. Are you in here? This

:06:36. > :06:38.is what a category four hurricane means in reality. Searching in the

:06:39. > :06:44.wreckage to find out if your neighbour is dead or alive. It seems

:06:45. > :06:49.that Dan did get out in time. But others like Judy stayed to ride out

:06:50. > :06:55.the storm. Did you sleep? Know I sat there in my shaking bed waiting for

:06:56. > :07:00.my roof to come off. And then about 10:30pm or so it quietens down.

:07:01. > :07:04.There is a tree in my yard, and Betty's house is all gone. On the

:07:05. > :07:09.shore front of Rockport where the eye of this monster storm swept

:07:10. > :07:12.ashore, these men who live in their boats are lucky to be alive. Were

:07:13. > :07:18.you in your post last night during the storm? Yeah. How was that?

:07:19. > :07:24.LAUGHTER No brains! This is a really poor

:07:25. > :07:29.neighbourhood and a lot of people here say they simply don't know how

:07:30. > :07:35.they will now rebuild their lives. This is what they endure through the

:07:36. > :07:40.night, 130 mph winds that left nearly a quarter of a million homes

:07:41. > :07:46.and businesses without power. It was the strongest hurricane to strike

:07:47. > :07:50.Texas since 1961. It's still too early for a conference of assessment

:07:51. > :07:59.of the damage but it will be costly. What's your worst case scenario

:08:00. > :08:02.here? Harvey, that's about as worst-case scenario for a community

:08:03. > :08:06.the size of Victoria. We have never seen a forecast for that kind of

:08:07. > :08:11.localised brain. It is the most dangerous forecast we have ever

:08:12. > :08:16.seen. And the danger is not over yet. The storm is moving inland,

:08:17. > :08:20.dumping huge amounts of rain. In Houston the flooding has begun and

:08:21. > :08:25.the forecast is that it will get a lot worse. This disaster is still

:08:26. > :08:30.unfolding. James Cook, BBC News, Corpus Christi in Texas.

:08:31. > :08:34.Sport now - and in rugby league, Hull FC have won the Challenge Cup

:08:35. > :08:36.for the second successive season, after beating Wigan Warriors in

:08:37. > :08:42.In the Wembley sun, Rugby League's day to shine.

:08:43. > :08:45.No club has won the couple more times than Wigan, but it

:08:46. > :08:54.Cup holders against record holders, an intriguing contest. Again that

:08:55. > :08:58.could turn on something as small as the bounce of a ball. Wigan were the

:08:59. > :09:04.first to read it right, John Bateman with the opening score. The lesson

:09:05. > :09:07.then, don't let it bounce. Fetuli Talanoa didn't, and Hull were ahead

:09:08. > :09:12.at half-time. On the other wing, Mahe for no, he will leave Hull at

:09:13. > :09:16.the end of the season. Here he was leaving his legacy. The narrowest

:09:17. > :09:21.gap was all he needed for his second try. The gap on the scoreboard

:09:22. > :09:25.growing just a little wider. Still, Wigan have a proud Wembley heritage.

:09:26. > :09:28.Joe Burgess's try adding extraordinary late drama. Just a

:09:29. > :09:32.minute left and it was Burgess again who thought he had won it, only for

:09:33. > :09:37.the referee to call a forward pass. Inches in it, but for Hull it was

:09:38. > :09:40.enough. On Rugby league's biggest stage, once again it was the Black

:09:41. > :09:43.and Whites who shone the brightest. Adam wild, BBC News.

:09:44. > :09:50.Reigning World Champions England have the chance to win back to back

:09:51. > :09:53.women's rugby World Cups tonight - as they face New Zealand

:09:54. > :09:58.New Zealand are the number one ranked side in the World and have

:09:59. > :10:02.England go into the match this evening with just one change

:10:03. > :10:04.to the side that beat France in the semi-finals.

:10:05. > :10:07.There's more throughout the evening on the BBC News Channel,
