:00:20. > :00:23.The drivers of two lorries involved in a collision on the M1 motorway

:00:24. > :00:27.that killed eight people have been charged with causing death

:00:28. > :00:32.Four other passengers in the minibus that was crushed remain in hospital.

:00:33. > :00:39.The minibus involved in yesterday's crash was carrying 12 people

:00:40. > :00:41.from the Nottingham area down towards London.

:00:42. > :00:45.Police said some of its passengers were visiting from India.

:00:46. > :00:49.One of those who died has been identified as Cyriac Joseph,

:00:50. > :00:54.He was the owner of the minibus company, ABC Travels.

:00:55. > :00:57.He is understood to be a father of two from Nottingham.

:00:58. > :01:00.On Facebook, one friend paid tribute,

:01:01. > :01:03.saying "Words cannot describe how helpful you are.

:01:04. > :01:12.Today, police gave an update on the four

:01:13. > :01:15.They're still in hospital with serious injuries.

:01:16. > :01:17.Yesterday, police said three of them were in

:01:18. > :01:25.Both lorry drivers were arrested at the scene yesterday,

:01:26. > :01:28.and this morning they were charged, each of them with eight counts

:01:29. > :01:31.of causing death by dangerous driving, and four counts

:01:32. > :01:34.of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

:01:35. > :01:38.One of them, Ryszard Masierak, who's 31 and from Evesham, has also

:01:39. > :01:44.He's been remanded in custody to appear in court tomorrow.

:01:45. > :01:49.The other driver, David Wagstaff, who's 53 and from Stoke-on-Trent,

:01:50. > :01:52.has been bailed to appear before magistrates next month.

:01:53. > :02:04.Our correspondent, Spencer Stokes, is in Nottingham.

:02:05. > :02:15.That is where the minibus set off. What has been the reaction, Spencer?

:02:16. > :02:18.I have been on the street here in Nottingham, a small cul-de-sac where

:02:19. > :02:23.Cyriac Joseph lived. I've been talking to some of the neighbours.

:02:24. > :02:27.One of the neighbours at the top of the cul-de-sac told me they would

:02:28. > :02:32.often see Cyriac Joseph playing in his front garden with his two

:02:33. > :02:37.children, playing cricket with them. Another neighbour towards the bottom

:02:38. > :02:42.of the cul-de-sac was saying how his wife would speak with Mr Joseph's

:02:43. > :02:46.wife over the garden fence. He was aware he was a minibus driver

:02:47. > :02:52.because he would see the mini buses and taxis coming and going. He said

:02:53. > :02:58.he was a very nice man. Here in Nottingham a church service has been

:02:59. > :03:09.held this morning at the Roman Catholic St Paul's Church,

:03:10. > :03:12.advertised as being in memory of Cyriac Joseph. People knew he was a

:03:13. > :03:16.taxi driver locally, and people waking up to learn that he was the

:03:17. > :03:18.minibus driver who tragically died on the M1 yesterday. Spencer, thank

:03:19. > :03:20.you. For the first time, Labour has

:03:21. > :03:22.committed to keeping the UK in the single market and customs

:03:23. > :03:25.union during a transition period Writing in the Observer,

:03:26. > :03:28.the Shadow Brexit secretary, Sir Keir Starmer, said leaving both

:03:29. > :03:31.at once would be too risky. The shift in policy would mean

:03:32. > :03:34.continuing to accept the free Our political correspondent,

:03:35. > :03:41.Jonathan Blake, reports. But since the result

:03:42. > :03:45.of the EU referendum in favour of leaving,

:03:46. > :03:49.the party has faced criticism that its policy on

:03:50. > :03:51.Brexit was unclear. Now Jeremy Corbyn

:03:52. > :03:55.and his shadow Brexit Secretary, Keir Starmer, have agreed

:03:56. > :03:58.on their version of the way forward. A transitional period is,

:03:59. > :04:02.they say, essential. Writing in the Observer,

:04:03. > :04:05.Keir Starmer criticises the government's approach

:04:06. > :04:06.of constructive ambiguity and says A credible solution is needed to one

:04:07. > :04:12.of the most important issues facing That means, he says,

:04:13. > :04:17.we would seek to remain in a customs union with

:04:18. > :04:21.the EU and within the single market. It would mean we would abide

:04:22. > :04:25.by the common rules of both. Labour hasn't said

:04:26. > :04:33.how long the proposed leaves the EU, only

:04:34. > :04:35.that it should be as short as possible

:04:36. > :04:38.but as long as necessary. When many Labour MPs

:04:39. > :04:40.return here to Westminster in the next week or so,

:04:41. > :04:43.they may find themselves torn between supporting what many

:04:44. > :04:45.will see as a soft Brexit policy and representing their constituents, a

:04:46. > :04:48.lot of whom voted overwhelmingly to Long-term, Keir Starmer has

:04:49. > :04:54.suggested keeping the benefits of the single market

:04:55. > :04:56.with what he called more effective Some pro-Europe Labour MPs want

:04:57. > :05:03.the party to go further. What people would now like to see,

:05:04. > :05:06.building on this important step forward, is for the Labour Party

:05:07. > :05:09.to commit to single market membership and the customs union

:05:10. > :05:12.after the transition period, after the UK has left

:05:13. > :05:14.the European Union. The government has dismissed

:05:15. > :05:17.Labour's policy, saying the party has no vision

:05:18. > :05:20.for Britain post-Brexit. Their plan for a transitional period

:05:21. > :05:23.is now set, but the endgame for Britain outside the EU under

:05:24. > :05:26.Labour is still far from clear. The American boxer Floyd Mayweather

:05:27. > :05:36.says he's now retiring for good after stopping

:05:37. > :05:37.Ireland's Conor McGregor in the tenth round of

:05:38. > :05:39.their fight in Las Vegas. The former welterweight champion

:05:40. > :05:42.emerged from a two-year retirement to take on the Irish mixed

:05:43. > :05:45.martial arts star. Floyd Mayweather Junior

:05:46. > :05:53.confirmed his position as one of the all-time greats in a fight

:05:54. > :05:57.that surpassed expectations. With just over a minute

:05:58. > :06:00.remaining in the tenth round, the dominance of the man who refers

:06:01. > :06:03.to himself as "TBE", The Best Ever, proved too much

:06:04. > :06:06.for Conor McGregor, with the referee I told you guys there'd be blood,

:06:07. > :06:14.sweat and tears, and I told you... He was a hell of a

:06:15. > :06:16.fighter, standing up. A sense of hope, anticipation

:06:17. > :06:24.and excitement had built throughout the day, with Irish fans

:06:25. > :06:29.turning the desert city green. And Floyd Mayweather wasn't

:06:30. > :06:34.without support either. When the bell rang for the first

:06:35. > :06:42.round, McGregor emerged all guns blazing, catching Mayweather

:06:43. > :06:44.with a number of powerful shots. The Irishman had claimed for weeks

:06:45. > :06:47.that he was ready to shock the world, and with three rounds

:06:48. > :06:50.gone, some began to wonder But in his first professional boxing

:06:51. > :06:54.contest, the pace and skills of Mayweather ground the Irishman

:06:55. > :06:59.down, and he visibly tired. He came in hands up

:07:00. > :07:01.towards your forehead, dipped in the forehead on the chest,

:07:02. > :07:04.and started to fight By the ninth round, McGregor's

:07:05. > :07:12.legs began to wobble, clinging to his opponent

:07:13. > :07:15.and the ropes for survival. And the next round saw the end

:07:16. > :07:18.of a fight that has intrigued and repulsed in equal measure,

:07:19. > :07:21.with all its controversies A second man has been arrested

:07:22. > :07:31.by police investigating Friday's Detectives say they have detained

:07:32. > :07:37.a 30-year-old man in West London on suspicion of being involved

:07:38. > :07:40.in the alleged terror incident. Three police officers were injured

:07:41. > :07:44.on Friday as they arrested a 26-year-old man brandishing

:07:45. > :07:48.a four-foot sword, who repeatedly Emergency workers in Texas

:07:49. > :07:55.are trying to rescue hundreds of stranded people from rising

:07:56. > :07:59.floodwaters caused by Storm Harvey. The storm, which has been

:08:00. > :08:02.downgraded from a hurricane, killed two people and officials

:08:03. > :08:06.expect the death toll to rise. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has

:08:07. > :08:10.warned of severe flooding, with 40 inches of rain expected

:08:11. > :08:16.in the next few days. The victims of the Grenfell Tower

:08:17. > :08:19.tragedy have been remembered with prayers and the release

:08:20. > :08:22.of dozens of white doves Security for the event -

:08:23. > :08:26.due to be attended by tens of thousands of people -

:08:27. > :08:29.has also been reviewed in the wake Our correspondent,

:08:30. > :08:48.Chi Chi Izundu, is there. I assume a day of mixed emotions for

:08:49. > :08:53.some people? Indeed it is a day of mixed emotions. Organisers were very

:08:54. > :08:59.clear that they wanted this carnival to be marked and remembered as part

:09:00. > :09:03.of the victims of Grenfell Tower. 6000 to 7000 police officers are

:09:04. > :09:10.patrolling the site. Loads of people are going behind me because a

:09:11. > :09:14.million are expected to take part in Europe's biggest festival over the

:09:15. > :09:19.next two days. As well as police we have seen some steel barricades and

:09:20. > :09:23.concrete blocks to prevent any vehicles going down. Slow drivers

:09:24. > :09:28.have been told to make sure they lock their cabs in order to ensure

:09:29. > :09:34.there is no similar Barcelona style attack. As well as that, there has

:09:35. > :09:40.been a ring of care around the tower of Grenfell Tower by the police, who

:09:41. > :09:43.are encouraging people to leave tributes and handcrafted notes to

:09:44. > :09:48.any one of the victims that are remembered here today, as well as

:09:49. > :09:51.having fun at the carnival. Thank you very much indeed.
