:00:00. > :00:36.If you're driving, and especially if you're parking, it's not

:00:37. > :00:40.difficult to put a wheel wrong and end up with a parking ticket.

:00:41. > :00:45.Now, it is possible to appeal a ticket and many appeals

:00:46. > :00:48.are successful, but you've got to know what your rights are and how

:00:49. > :00:55.Now, personally I don't, but this chap does.

:00:56. > :00:59.The DoNotPay robot lawyer is a chat bot that can write you an appeal

:01:00. > :01:03.letter in the time it takes you to answer its questions.

:01:04. > :01:05.Were you or someone you know driving?

:01:06. > :01:08.It starts by asking about the circumstances

:01:09. > :01:25.In this case you can say, "Yes, it was."

:01:26. > :01:29.Then it immediately understands the problem with your ticket

:01:30. > :01:34.and the great thing is it will actually get evidence

:01:35. > :01:43.from Google StreetView if it's relevant to support your claim.

:01:44. > :01:47.Also include relevant previous cases where they have been successful in

:01:48. > :01:49.getting their tickets dismissed. The appeals letter it produces

:01:50. > :01:52.is based on actual successful claim letters that covered the same

:01:53. > :01:55.criteria, be they confusing signage What was your inspiration

:01:56. > :02:06.then for creating this? With the help of some lawyer friends

:02:07. > :02:10.this artificially intelligent chat bot was created last year by

:02:11. > :02:17.19-year-old computer science student Joshua. I really think market

:02:18. > :02:22.tickets are like an arbitrary final on people, you have elderly people

:02:23. > :02:27.and the disabled getting really expensive tickets and I see it as a

:02:28. > :02:30.public service. If people get them legitimately they should pay them

:02:31. > :02:32.but I think councils are using them to raise money so it's good to help

:02:33. > :02:35.them. What was your inspiration

:02:36. > :02:43.then for creating this? Well, it was quite

:02:44. > :02:45.embarrassing actually. I got a large number

:02:46. > :02:47.of parking tickets myself and after about the fourth

:02:48. > :02:50.ticket my parents said you're on your own, you have to pay

:02:51. > :02:53.for your own tickets. Out of necessity I had to become

:02:54. > :02:57.a local parking guru and it wasn't long before I was hoping my family

:02:58. > :03:04.and friends with their tickets. Joshua estimates that almost ?4

:03:05. > :03:07.million in parking fines has been successfully appealed since the bot

:03:08. > :03:11.launched in the UK, Seattle and New York. And it doesn't stop at parking

:03:12. > :03:14.tickets. It can also help you claim compensation for delayed flights,

:03:15. > :03:15.apply for council housing in the UK and fight landlords for property

:03:16. > :03:25.repairs. And Joshua has decided not

:03:26. > :03:27.to charge for its services. I promised

:03:28. > :03:31.from the beginning it would be free I think people who need free legal

:03:32. > :03:36.help are some of the most vulnerable in society and it would be morally

:03:37. > :03:39.wrong to charge them, so I'm not making money and it's

:03:40. > :03:42.a pure public service. Now we're off to Amsterdam

:03:43. > :03:48.to the International Broadcasting If you're a content creator, and,

:03:49. > :03:53.let's face it, aren't we all these days, if you make videos,

:03:54. > :03:55.upload stuff or broadcast stuff, this is the place to see the latest

:03:56. > :03:59.high-end kit that's available. Dan Simmons is there at IBC and this

:04:00. > :04:05.is what he has found. Fancy an all-terrain 4x4

:04:06. > :04:10.with 240-degree rotating camera and lightning fast tracking built

:04:11. > :04:13.by former Russian engineers? And that's the cost

:04:14. > :04:21.without the car, just an arm. And how about an electric

:04:22. > :04:27.copter with 4K camera Released only last month,

:04:28. > :04:32.it's a quarter of the price of a standard chopper,

:04:33. > :04:39.but it does look to be Surely with drones everywhere

:04:40. > :04:43.a ?400,000 chopper isn't The big problem with drones

:04:44. > :04:47.is they are very restricted in terms If you're in the right air space

:04:48. > :04:52.then a drone is fantastic. But if you need to cross a road

:04:53. > :04:56.or get near to people or buildings or things you don't have control

:04:57. > :05:04.over then you start running into lots of regulatory

:05:05. > :05:05.problems with drones. This is Amsterdam's IBC expo

:05:06. > :05:09.and is where the TV and film industry meet to show off

:05:10. > :05:11.the next building blocks 360 video is on many

:05:12. > :05:14.executives' minds here, The Globe is live streaming the feed

:05:15. > :05:21.from the six GoPro cameras that make That offers viewers the chance

:05:22. > :05:30.to peer into and explore the content without the dizziness sometimes

:05:31. > :05:34.experienced through a VR headset. The clever bit is that it is

:05:35. > :05:38.stitching all of this on the fly, but also it is putting it

:05:39. > :05:42.onto a piece of hardware. Something that could become

:05:43. > :05:50.the TV of the future. Postproduction for films shot in 360

:05:51. > :05:54.is challenging because of the way the multiple camera shots

:05:55. > :06:02.are stitched together. The final bit of future TV that

:06:03. > :06:05.caught my eye was this from Auntie Beeb, which is cutting

:06:06. > :06:09.up its own shows so you can pick It could mean cookery programmes

:06:10. > :06:13.that avoid ingredients Comedy shows that cut out the kind

:06:14. > :06:18.of jokes you don't want to hear. Or Click without, say,

:06:19. > :06:20.pieces on the future of TV. So before I get swept up its back

:06:21. > :06:25.to the electric chopper This prototype may only have 15

:06:26. > :06:30.minutes of flight time but that's enough to get to Schipol Airport

:06:31. > :06:33.in my very own Lamborghini Just one small problem that

:06:34. > :06:36.shouldn't be left to postproduction. Keith...

:06:37. > :06:44.How do you close the doors? Hello and welcome

:06:45. > :06:47.to the Week in Tech. It was the week Tesla boss Elon Musk

:06:48. > :06:51.announced safety updates to the driver assistance autopilot

:06:52. > :06:54.function on its cars. It said it would make greater use

:06:55. > :06:57.of the on-board radar A Tesla driver died

:06:58. > :07:02.in a collision earlier this year It was also the week

:07:03. > :07:10.that the director of the FBI advised that we should all cover our webcams

:07:11. > :07:13.like he does to protect yourselves Amazon announced its virtual

:07:14. > :07:17.assistant speakers are coming to the UK, complete

:07:18. > :07:20.with a British accent. It was also the week where the most

:07:21. > :07:26.amazing and also kind of creepiest Researchers at MIT Media Lab

:07:27. > :07:33.at Georgia Tech adapted radiation technology that could one day mean

:07:34. > :07:37.we could be able to read a book The system works by firing radiation

:07:38. > :07:45.pulses from a special camera and measuring just how long it takes

:07:46. > :07:48.for them to bounce back. At the moment, though,

:07:49. > :07:51.it can only see one hand-written And finally, our eyes almost fell

:07:52. > :07:57.out of our heads when we saw the most terrifying

:07:58. > :08:00.looking drone yet. Japan's latest Pro Drone comes

:08:01. > :08:03.with six spinning blades and a dextrous duo of very

:08:04. > :08:06.sinnister-looking robotic claws. useful in collecting dangerous

:08:07. > :08:12.materials. This is Bjork Digital,

:08:13. > :08:32.and inside these rooms at Somerset House are 100 Gear VR

:08:33. > :08:36.headsets and 20 HTC Vibes, music videos from Bjork's album,

:08:37. > :08:43.Vulnicura. The show has been touring the world

:08:44. > :08:47.and the promise is eventually to make a VR experience for each

:08:48. > :08:50.of the nine album tracks. Visitors to this location will be

:08:51. > :08:54.the first to see Quicksand, feautiring Bjork in her specially

:08:55. > :08:57.made facially tracked Yes, not for the first time

:08:58. > :09:04.Iceland's enigmatic imp has been dazzling and baffling

:09:05. > :09:07.us with her intriguing deliver her vision is Andrew

:09:08. > :09:13.Melchior. What was her motivation

:09:14. > :09:16.for trying VR? I think she has always been

:09:17. > :09:19.interested in technology, she was a bit of a geek,

:09:20. > :09:22.which we love. So I think virtual reality

:09:23. > :09:27.is the latest weapon in the arsenal with which to try and convey

:09:28. > :09:30.and have an intimate relationship with her listeners and people

:09:31. > :09:32.who like her work. In fact, Bjork is so keen on VR

:09:33. > :09:36.that she even appeared at her own press launch

:09:37. > :09:38.as a virtual avatar. There's something about when you put

:09:39. > :09:41.those goggles on your face, that you are just immediately in

:09:42. > :09:47.this kind of very theatrical world. But because you're the lone

:09:48. > :09:57.viewer in this VR world Oh, right, three now,

:09:58. > :10:11.now you're just driving me insane! The experience on the beach, tell me

:10:12. > :10:14.about the thinking behind that? Bjork's a bit of an old punk,

:10:15. > :10:18.she's a lot of an old punk, the approach of making do

:10:19. > :10:21.with what you've got and getting it out there is the thing she did

:10:22. > :10:24.for did for Stonemilker. It's a very honest, sort of,

:10:25. > :10:28.what you see is what you get. We will see what I get soon enough

:10:29. > :10:31.because if I know Bjork, which I now feel like I do,

:10:32. > :10:39.things are about to get weird. I'm pretty sure I'm

:10:40. > :10:41.in someone's mouth. Either that or I'm being attacked

:10:42. > :10:46.by a huge strawberry. So the original aspiration was to do

:10:47. > :10:49.something in her actual mouth, but unfortunately,

:10:50. > :10:51.that was a bit risky. It might have muffled

:10:52. > :10:53.the words as well. So we ended up making

:10:54. > :10:56.this animatronic head, which the camera was specially

:10:57. > :10:59.created for to be able to film All of these experiences feature

:11:00. > :11:18.dynamic binaural audio. All of this is of course pretty

:11:19. > :11:21.typical behaviour for one of the most atypical people

:11:22. > :11:24.in the music industry. Unnerving and uncomfortable,

:11:25. > :11:37.which is probably exactly as Bjork That's it for the shortcut of Click

:11:38. > :11:41.this week I'm afraid. Follow us on Twitter and BBC click for more of

:11:42. > :11:45.our escapades and you can enjoy the full version right now on iPlayer

:11:46. > :11:48.too. Thanks for watching and we'll see you soon.
