:03:00. > :03:03.new Playstation 4 and Microsoft with the Xbox One. There is also a
:03:03. > :03:07.third faction in this battle for gaming supremacy, Nintendo with its
:03:07. > :03:13.Wii U, which is currently being outsold by the Xbox 360, the PS3
:03:13. > :03:23.and the old Wii. Which clearly isn't good news for the house of

:03:26. > :03:28.Mario and Zelda. Nintendo's hasn't bothered with its usual flashy E3
:03:28. > :03:32.press conference, instead leaving press event preening to Microsoft
:03:32. > :03:35.and Sony, who, after all, have brand new consoles to show off. And
:03:36. > :03:38.first out of the gate was Microsoft. At its launch event last month,
:03:38. > :03:44.Microsoft waxed lyrical about the Xbox One's credentials as a
:03:44. > :03:47.multimedia device. But here at E3, far more attention was paid to
:03:47. > :03:50.slaying barbarians in a kind of Saving Centurion Ryan manner in
:03:50. > :03:53.third person actioner Ryse:Son of Rome, and engaging in martial arts
:03:53. > :04:01.mayhem with rebooted blast from the past Killer Instinct, and of course
:04:01. > :04:08.shooting lots and lots of guns in first person shooter Battle field 4.
:04:08. > :04:11.Games and more games was the order of the day. And driving franchise
:04:11. > :04:14.Forza rumbles on with this fifth instalment, adding cloud computing
:04:14. > :04:17.to its racing repertoire. The game can learn its players driving style
:04:18. > :04:21.using it to provide the AI for computer controlled opponents. It
:04:21. > :04:25.means the game can play by itself without the users input wracking up
:04:25. > :04:28.in game credits for its user. Quite how much fun getting a console to
:04:29. > :04:32.play a game for you is, well that's debatable, but Microsoft are
:04:32. > :04:42.confident that the cloud and consoles are a match made in
:04:42. > :04:42.
:04:42. > :04:45.computing heaven. Being connected to the cloud is going to allow
:04:45. > :04:48.creators to make worlds that are alive. They are gonna have
:04:48. > :04:56.communities you are going to be able to interact with your friends
:04:56. > :04:59.they are gonna be rich changing vibrant real time. And Microsoft
:04:59. > :05:04.raised eyebrows by announcing the Xbox One will cost $499 when it's
:05:04. > :05:14.released in November. Xbox One will launch this November in 21 markets

:06:52. > :06:55.conflict. A conflict centred around how next gen machines will deal
:06:56. > :07:00.with pre-owned or second hand games. And how often they need to be
:07:00. > :07:03.connected to the internet. Microsoft has publicly stated that
:07:03. > :07:07.it won't charge gamers an additional fee to play second hand
:07:07. > :07:10.games on its new console, it's leaving that decision up to games
:07:10. > :07:13.publishers, it's also said the Xbox one will need to connect the
:07:13. > :07:23.internet once every twenty four hours in order for single player
:07:23. > :07:24.
:07:24. > :07:27.games to work. Well look the world, it has changed from offline devices
:07:27. > :07:30.to online devices, if you think about how your tablet works, how
:07:30. > :07:34.your computer works, having an internet connection allows it to

:08:43. > :08:46.hardware, and we just unfortunately haven't been able to deliver a
:08:46. > :08:49.strong enough software line-up to really drive sales for launch,
:08:49. > :08:54.however the good news is that we are showcasing today an amazing
:08:54. > :08:56.line up of amazing software that you can only play on Wii-U. Ninty's
:08:56. > :09:00.strategy for success seems to involve launching fans favourite
:09:00. > :09:04.titles such as Mario Kart 8 and Donkey Kong tropical freeze for
:09:04. > :09:07.WiiU later this year. So all of the major players now their cards on
:09:07. > :09:15.the table, however in the battle for home console dominance it's
:09:15. > :09:19.still not completely clear which company will emerge victorious. All
