:01:55. > :02:00.According to the prosecution Gordon Dyche took a dangerous gamble on

:02:00. > :02:04.April 20 last year. He clipped Denise Griffith's car, and the

:02:04. > :02:12.prosecution claim he accepted responsibility immediately after

:02:42. > :02:49.asked another driver shortly after the accident whether her lights

:02:49. > :02:55.were on. She said, "I was trying to come to terms with the possibility

:03:33. > :03:36.What's the latest? The fire crews have left the site. There are some

:03:36. > :03:41.officers who will be on duty at the site overnight to make sure the

:03:41. > :03:47.fire doesn't restart. The road in front of the factory has also

:03:47. > :03:51.reopened after being closed this afternoon. The emergency services

:03:51. > :03:58.were called shortly before 1.00pm this afternoon. The factory was

:03:58. > :04:07.evacuated. The food processing factory next door was also

:04:07. > :04:14.evacuated. Two fire engines were originally called, but it soon

:04:14. > :04:19.became clear that the fire was too intense, and so further engines

:04:47. > :04:57.They will be working with the Fire Service as the investigation goes

:04:57. > :05:02.ahead. Experts are expected to arrive tomorrow morning. There will

:05:02. > :05:05.be an assessment of the site and the nature of the fire. It is too

:05:05. > :05:11.early to tell how much damage has been caused and how much it will

:09:38. > :09:45.people who cannot use their legs. We have a hand bike if someone just

:09:45. > :09:51.wants to use their arms. Among the people who appreciate how important

:09:51. > :09:56.opportunities like these are to disabled athletes is John Jones,

:09:56. > :09:59.who suffered a serious injury in a motorbike accident in Germany.

:09:59. > :10:09.Since then, he has cycled from one end of Britain to the other. He

:11:27. > :11:31...after he got into difficulty with a team of walkers.

:11:31. > :11:34.But BBC Wales reporters found him...

:11:34. > :11:42...near the waterfalls in Pontneddfechan this afternoon.

:11:47. > :11:52.It's a popular area for walkers, but there are clear signs warning

:11:53. > :11:55.of the dangers. There were volunteers from four rescue teams

:11:55. > :12:03.searching for Steve Walker as well as specialist police officers,

:12:03. > :12:08.helicopters and dogs. But shortly after 2.00pm, he walked out along

:12:08. > :12:14.this path and asked the DVT team for help. The fitness instructor

:12:14. > :12:17.from Romford told me he had been missing since yesterday lunch time.

:12:17. > :12:22.He was on an adventure weekend, and after being separated from his

:12:22. > :12:30.group, the former soldier fell down a steep cliff into a river. He was

:13:44. > :13:49.the residents here were preparing for the arrival of Hurricane

:13:49. > :13:53.Hurricane Katrina which destroyed parts of the city. Hurricane Isaac

:13:53. > :13:58.has already killed 24 people on its way through Haiti. The storm has

:15:38. > :15:42.Many of those in the tourism industry had been hoping for a much

:15:42. > :15:48.better summer this year, and although the sun is shining on

:15:48. > :15:53.Glamorous Night -- Glanllyn today, it has been a difficult season for

:15:53. > :15:57.the owners of this caravan park near Llyn Tegid with the bad

:15:57. > :16:01.weather, meaning many have cancelled their holidays. It's the

:16:01. > :16:10.most difficult summer I can remember. The weather has been the

:16:10. > :16:15.main problem this year. With the rain forcing people to find shelter,

:16:15. > :16:22.indoor attractions have benefited, and some have seen an increase of

:16:22. > :16:31.15% in business, but on the whole, businesses have suffered. Outdoor

:16:31. > :16:38.attractions have seen a fall of around 15% in business. Hotels have

:16:38. > :16:43.also seen a fall in the number of guests. As well as the weather, the

:16:43. > :16:53.economic climate hasn't helped, and business has been forced to adapt

:16:53. > :16:57.and offer bargains to attract customers. We have been forced to

:18:20. > :18:33...in what would become the Paralympics.

:18:33. > :18:33.In

:18:33. > :18:34.In terms

:18:34. > :18:40.In terms of

:18:40. > :18:44.In terms of size, only the Olympic Games are bigger. In Beijing,

:18:44. > :18:48.almost 4,000 athletes from 146 countries competed at the

:18:48. > :18:56.Paralympics. It has seen significant growth since the first

:18:56. > :19:01.Games. Towards the end of the 1940s, Dr Ludwig Guttmann started using

:19:01. > :19:09.sport to treat patients with back injuries. Within a few years, there

:19:09. > :19:13.were 13 0 international competitors at the Stoke Mandeville Games,

:19:13. > :19:18.which were named after the hospital are the doctor worked. Basketball

:19:18. > :19:24.was one of the first sports. In 1952, the photographer Ron Davies

:19:24. > :19:31.was a member of the Southport Hospital team.

:19:31. > :19:40.It was quite rough in those days. You charged at them like a bull

:19:40. > :19:54.elephant. You tried to push them out of the way. We lost in the

:19:54. > :20:03.first round. We didn't want to play all week. We could lose in the

:20:03. > :20:09.first round and then go down the pub. Ron tried some other sports,

:20:09. > :20:15.including the javelin, but he was forced to retire. I could feel a

:20:15. > :20:24.spasm in my back. I put the javelin down, and it went through my toe. I

:20:24. > :20:30.gave up after that. In a recent film, Ron saw footage of himself

:20:30. > :20:42.competing in one of the first Paralympic Games. He thinks he's

:20:42. > :20:51.the only surviving athlete from the I don't think there are many left

:20:51. > :20:56.who took part in those first Games. Ron still follows the Games and

:20:56. > :21:01.will enjoy this year's event in London, but says it's very

:21:01. > :21:11.different to its humble beginnings. It's all about winning these days.

:21:11. > :21:14.When I took part, we were playing for ourselves and trying to enjoy

:21:14. > :21:27.ourselves. As long as we were taking part, we were fine. We

:21:27. > :21:31.usually lost anyway. But we had a lot of fun. The flame is about to

:21:31. > :21:39.start its journey to the stadium for the Opening Ceremony which

:21:39. > :21:45.promises to be an electrifying celebration. The competing will

:21:45. > :21:51.start on Thursday. The organisers have revealed that there will be

:21:51. > :21:56.10,000 tickets available each day, but there is pressure on the

:21:56. > :22:01.shoulders of Welsh athletes. There are 38 in all, which is the biggest

:22:01. > :22:07.ever representation from Wales. They will be hoping to build on the

:22:07. > :22:12.scuk sense -- success of Beijing when Wales won 14 medals, ten of

:22:13. > :22:25.which were gold. We will bring you the latest over

:22:25. > :22:35.the next 12 days from the The flame is on its way, and we're

:22:35. > :22:38.Rugby, and at a press conference ..it was announced

:22:38. > :22:42...will take place on the same day in the stadium next March.

:22:42. > :22:46.The Dragons will play the Scarlets before the Blues play the Ospreys.
