:00:13. > :00:16.Welcome back to Outside Source. Let's look through the top stories
:00:17. > :00:21.here in the BBC newsroom at the moment. Flights from Sharm el-Sheikh
:00:22. > :00:25.to the UK will resume tomorrow morning, good news for the tourists
:00:26. > :00:31.currently stuck there. Russia and Egypt are urging patients in
:00:32. > :00:36.response to UK claims that a bomb brought the plane down. They are
:00:37. > :00:40.saying, don't draw conclusions too quickly. We're also going to play a
:00:41. > :00:43.very interesting report looking at the spike in violence between
:00:44. > :00:50.Israelis and Palestinians and how that is affecting the day-to-day
:00:51. > :00:56.lives of people on both sides. Also, look who BBC Sport has been speaking
:00:57. > :00:58.to. Are you the best footballer in the world right now? I think so,
:00:59. > :01:22.yes. In my mind I'm always the best. It feels good to be saying that we
:01:23. > :01:33.have better news from Sierra Leone. It will be cleared Ebola FDDI by
:01:34. > :01:46.Saturday. -- it will be the cleared three of Ebola.
:01:47. > :01:57.To get to this point a country must record now cases for 42 days. It has
:01:58. > :02:02.people have died. Our global health people have died. Our global health
:02:03. > :02:19.reporter has been reporting throughout, often from the capital
:02:20. > :02:26.of Sierra Leone. Celebrating life. These women are
:02:27. > :02:50.survivors. But the carriage marks enormous loss. Three brothers died.
:02:51. > :02:55.Yes. I am sorry. These women come together regularly
:02:56. > :03:02.to shear the experiences of life after Ebola. All of them have
:03:03. > :03:07.suffered unimaginable trauma. Most are now suffering physical pain as
:03:08. > :03:26.well. I go shopping early in the morning. I get pains on my eye. I am
:03:27. > :03:32.worried. Many survivors are porting problems with joint pains and
:03:33. > :03:45.fatigue. This person's eyesight was fine
:03:46. > :03:56.before she was infected. We have seen quite a handful of them with
:03:57. > :04:01.this condition. This person has all but lost her sight now sought the
:04:02. > :04:05.emergency to a nearby eye clinic to emergency to a nearby eye clinic to
:04:06. > :04:12.do what they can at this late stage.
:04:13. > :04:21.How are you feeling today? I do not feel fine at all, she tells me. I
:04:22. > :04:25.have great pain in my eyes. It is not clear why so many people are
:04:26. > :04:32.reporting these kinds of problems but it is known that traces of the
:04:33. > :04:47.Ebola by this can remain in the eyeball.
:04:48. > :04:53.If she does not comply with treatment, it is likely to get
:04:54. > :04:55.worse. Treatment is not cheap. Most survivors do not have access to this
:04:56. > :05:19.kind of clear. to go 42 days without infection to
:05:20. > :05:28.be declared Ebola free. That is because that is twice the incubation
:05:29. > :05:36.time of the virus. I have got a BBC interview with
:05:37. > :05:42.Ronaldo in a moment. First, let us go to the sports centre. The Europa
:05:43. > :05:44.League is in full swing. I am not win to ask you
:05:45. > :05:46.games but perhaps pick out a games but perhaps pick out
:05:47. > :05:49.couple. We would be here all night if we had
:05:50. > :05:58.to mention all of them. A big result in group A. Celtic lost
:05:59. > :06:06.2-1. That is to defeats in for. It will be very hard for them now to
:06:07. > :06:25.qualify for the knockout stages. Ajax are now third, behind Fenner
:06:26. > :06:32.back it. Molde are now through. Liverpool got there first win of the
:06:33. > :06:43.tournament. It is also their first away win in Europe for nearly three
:06:44. > :06:50.years. That group is still open. Tottenham were top of their group.
:06:51. > :06:56.They were leading Anderlecht 1-0. Harry Kane. But Anderlecht have just
:06:57. > :07:13.equalised in the last few minutes. They are second in that group behind
:07:14. > :07:22.Michael who do 1-1 in the game. Thank you.
:07:23. > :07:42.This from mortal GP. talk about Ronaldo. In a few days'
:07:43. > :07:47.time there is all about him. Pit crew followed him for over a year.
:07:48. > :07:52.He has given an interview to the BBC.
:07:53. > :08:04.This has given me a motivation to still work hard and better. But to
:08:05. > :08:14.be in my shoes is not easy. But I am not complaining. I just want to say
:08:15. > :08:21.that I feel happy. All this happened because of a reason. The reason is
:08:22. > :08:27.that I am unbelievable on the pitch. Are you the best footballer in the
:08:28. > :08:33.world right now? I think so yes. In my mind, not just this year, but
:08:34. > :08:42.always, I am the best. I am always going to say that. In my area I
:08:43. > :08:52.think I am the best. But is there anything that Lionel Messi is better
:08:53. > :08:57.at? I respect other opinions. But in my mind I am better than him. Is
:08:58. > :09:06.that rivalry a good thing? For me, rivalry does not exist. Rivals as in
:09:07. > :09:18.war. In football, it is just a game. The numbers say everything.
:09:19. > :09:24.The numbers say everything. What possibility of you going back to
:09:25. > :09:31.Manchester United won the? Nobody knows the future. At this moment I
:09:32. > :09:37.am glad and happy at real Madrid. How has Manchester United changed
:09:38. > :09:47.from when you were there to know? Not just when I moved, I think it is
:09:48. > :09:56.different. I do not see it is better or worse. It's changed a lot. Many
:09:57. > :10:05.great players retired. Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville. I moved
:10:06. > :10:12.to Real Madrid. Sir Alex Ferguson has gone. The structure changed.
:10:13. > :10:20.This is why it is not the same Manchester that it was six years
:10:21. > :10:26.ago. This is a fact. Is that sad for you to see them not quite at the
:10:27. > :10:33.level they were? For me it is hard to say that because it is a club
:10:34. > :10:38.to see Manchester United in the to see Manchester United in the
:10:39. > :10:45.level that it was in the past. I think Manchester this season is
:10:46. > :10:51.better but they still have work to do to be on the level of six years
:10:52. > :10:55.ago. You said anything is possible ago. You said anything is possible
:10:56. > :11:00.in football. The real power in Manchester now as Manchester city.
:11:01. > :11:02.They have more money. Is it possible that one day if they gave you the
:11:03. > :11:11.right offer you could play for them? Am I going to change my mind
:11:12. > :11:19.now? I do not think so. If you speak about the money I will go to Qatar.
:11:20. > :11:24.It is not about the money. That is about the Passion. You played for
:11:25. > :11:33.Jose Mourinho. He is going to a tough spell. Are you surprised about
:11:34. > :11:45.that? I am not surprised. He is the manager that I worked with for two
:11:46. > :11:52.years. I know his potential. As a Portuguese man of course I want to
:11:53. > :11:57.see the Portuguese in the top level all the time. I hope he can go
:11:58. > :12:00.through this bad situation and make through this bad situation and make
:12:01. > :12:08.Chelsea fans happy because they deserve it. If you want to watch
:12:09. > :12:14.that again or she let it is on the BBC sport website.
:12:15. > :12:19.In a couple of moments we will play this extended video from Jerusalem
:12:20. > :12:25.looking at how the spike in violence between Israelis and Palestinians is
:12:26. > :12:34.affecting everyday lives on each side of the conflict.
:12:35. > :12:36.the first person in the world to the first person in the world to
:12:37. > :12:43.receive a revolutionary genetic treatment. She was diagnosed with an
:12:44. > :12:50.aggressive form of leukaemia. After conventional treatment had failed
:12:51. > :12:53.doctors decided her only option was to try this experimental technique.
:12:54. > :12:59.Here is our health editor to tell us about it.
:13:00. > :13:05.She is happy and lively now. But she is likely to be here. Diagnosed with
:13:06. > :13:09.leukaemia all available treatments failed. The hospital said her
:13:10. > :13:14.parents should prepare for the parents should prepare for the
:13:15. > :13:18.worst. But they refused to give up. Doctors agreed to use an
:13:19. > :13:25.experimental treatment never before tried on a human. It was risky but
:13:26. > :13:29.it worked. Doctors used a genetic tool to re-engineer white blood
:13:30. > :13:36.cells and create a designer immune system. They used a technique called
:13:37. > :13:42.gene editing. Immune cells were taken from a healthy donor. They
:13:43. > :13:52.used a new precise genetic tool to cut through the DNA. One snip made
:13:53. > :13:58.the sales in visible, the second cat neutered the cells, so they did not
:13:59. > :14:02.attack healthy tissue. They then added a synthetic gene which aren't
:14:03. > :14:09.the sales to seek out and destroy the leukaemia. The modified cells
:14:10. > :14:12.Doctors are amazed at how well the Doctors are amazed at how well the
:14:13. > :14:19.treatment of worked. They are hopeful that it could be
:14:20. > :14:23.effective for other children with aggressive forms of Kenya but they
:14:24. > :14:34.stress it is early days. She is tough. It might not work so
:14:35. > :14:38.well for her but it does not mean it well for her but it does not mean it
:14:39. > :14:43.will work for the next five or ten children. We need to do some more
:14:44. > :14:48.Two months on from the end of the Two months on from the end of the
:14:49. > :14:54.treatment she is doing well. Her family do not know what the future
:14:55. > :14:59.well holed. She will have monthly bone marrow checks and could be on
:15:00. > :15:14.medication for the rest of her life. But they are overjoyed.
:15:15. > :15:18.This is our lead story. Several airlines have announced flights to
:15:19. > :15:25.return British tourists from Sharm el-Sheikh to the UK. David Cameron
:15:26. > :15:32.said it is likely that a bomb brought down the Russian aircraft on
:15:33. > :15:39.Saturday. And we are looking at the ongoing
:15:40. > :15:44.release of the Bond film. And at ten o'clock we are looking at
:15:45. > :15:50.the tourists still stranded in Sharm el-Sheikh.
:15:51. > :15:55.We have reported many times on the recent spike in violence between
:15:56. > :16:03.Israelis and Palestinians. Much of the violence is in or near to
:16:04. > :16:13.Jerusalem. This report is on how everyday life
:16:14. > :16:18.on both sides is being affected. Jerusalem is my home, where I was
:16:19. > :16:25.born. It is the place where we live and learn. We cannot do without it.
:16:26. > :16:32.It is like a mother to us. Everybody just seems suspicious to
:16:33. > :16:36.where you always have to look over where you always have to look over
:16:37. > :17:20.your shoulder to make sure that you are oche.
:17:21. > :17:27.has been more scary. It has changed my daily routine. The things that I
:17:28. > :17:34.used to do, take the bus to work, go out with my friends, but does not
:17:35. > :17:39.happen as often. Not at all really. I do not think I am the only one
:17:40. > :17:44.that feels that way. I can see the streets. People do not go out as
:17:45. > :17:51.much. You can see that people are scared in their eyes. Today was the
:17:52. > :17:58.first time in a while that I took the bus. I was so where everything
:17:59. > :18:06.around me. You look to see who looks suspicious, or who has a look. And
:18:07. > :18:17.this is what we live right now in the city, everybody. I live here. We
:18:18. > :18:20.have the Jewish districts and on the have the Jewish districts and on the
:18:21. > :18:26.other side it is the Palestinian other side it is the Palestinian
:18:27. > :18:32.neighbourhoods where Arabs love. In the last three weeks when events
:18:33. > :18:35.have unfolded they have put checkpoints around this district. I
:18:36. > :18:41.felt scared at first. My family was scared for me. I was discriminated
:18:42. > :18:46.against at work and it is the first time I have ever felt that. I feel
:18:47. > :18:53.we do not care about my life or my safety. But you are in fact just an
:18:54. > :19:00.ordinary person going about your business. You are a normal person.
:19:01. > :19:04.It makes you sad. But mostly just angry that we'd be keep a distance
:19:05. > :19:11.from you. It makes you feel like you from you. It makes you feel like you
:19:12. > :19:17.are disgusting. These are two Arab neighbourhoods.
:19:18. > :19:25.They are bordering exactly with the Jewish neighbourhood. Despite the
:19:26. > :19:30.soldiers, that list just for security reasons, it is not a
:19:31. > :19:35.checkpoint. I can go in and they can come out as much as they want. But
:19:36. > :19:42.over the past few weeks we have had terrorists come and be a lot from
:19:43. > :19:47.these two neighbourhoods into the Jewish neighbourhood. I do not feel
:19:48. > :19:50.safe. Even though I worked here and everything is course I do not feel
:19:51. > :19:56.safe going into these neighbourhoods at any time of the day. In the past
:19:57. > :19:59.it has been more easy to move around.
:20:00. > :20:02.The Government has realised it is The Government has realised it is
:20:03. > :20:08.impossible to allow people to move in and out as much as they want if
:20:09. > :20:13.there can be danger in any way to people who are living in Jerusalem.
:20:14. > :20:21.Jews and Arabs, by the way. I know that they intend to build a fence
:20:22. > :20:31.restrict people from coming in and restrict people from coming in and
:20:32. > :20:37.out and I think that is a good idea. You can see the checkpoint that the
:20:38. > :20:49.Israeli army put. People are walking Israeli army put. People are walking
:20:50. > :21:00.on foot. They cannot go by car. They go to the bus to university or to do
:21:01. > :21:10.whatever they want to do. They are checked for their identities and in
:21:11. > :21:18.their bags. Many people are going out at the same time. But Israel is
:21:19. > :21:20.controlling, the occupation is controlling the movements and their
:21:21. > :21:26.lives stop there needs to be a lives stop there needs to be a
:21:27. > :21:31.firmer hand on terror. I do not see any justification for murder,
:21:32. > :21:36.stabbing people, throwing rocks, or any type of terror attacks. I do not
:21:37. > :21:43.have to do this. I want my have to do this. I want my
:21:44. > :21:48.Government to protect me. I do not understand much about security. But
:21:49. > :21:53.if there are more actions to be done my Government needs to take them and
:21:54. > :21:59.my Government is to keep me safe and keep everyone else safe. Three weeks
:22:00. > :22:03.ago I felt I could live in an occupied land but after I have seen
:22:04. > :22:08.the way they deal with Arabs I do not feel like living in an
:22:09. > :22:11.occupation anymore. Previously I used to believe in safety and peace
:22:12. > :22:16.but now I feel as long as there is but now I feel as long as there is
:22:17. > :22:22.an occupation you will never have a normal life. Every cycle of violence
:22:23. > :22:32.gets more people desperate, giving up the hope for peace. That is why I
:22:33. > :22:37.think that violence is not going to bring a revolution. Violence is not
:22:38. > :22:43.a revolutionary act. Coexistence is the revolutionary act. Here in
:22:44. > :22:52.Israel, and in general in the Middle East, this is what the Middle East
:22:53. > :22:58.needs. Call existence. That is it for this edition of
