:00:09. > :00:14.Two stories from Orlando in Florida to update you on this evening,

:00:15. > :00:17.starting with the latest on the shooting at a night club

:00:18. > :00:21.Now Donald Trump says he thinks gun laws should be tightened

:00:22. > :00:27.to restrict the sale of weapons to terror suspects.

:00:28. > :00:30.Also in Orlando, police say it's now certain a two-year-old boy

:00:31. > :00:33.who was dragged into water by an alligator at a Disney

:00:34. > :00:40.Oscar Pistorius walks without his prosthetic legs

:00:41. > :00:42.during his sentencing hearing for murdering his girlfriend Reeva

:00:43. > :00:49.There's been trouble between England football fans and police in France -

:00:50. > :00:51.we'll hear from our correspondent in Lille where that

:00:52. > :01:08.We will also be live in Paris for a full update from today's Euro 2016

:01:09. > :01:20.matches. As Orlando continues to grieve

:01:21. > :01:22.the loss of 49 people killed at a gay club on Sunday,

:01:23. > :01:25.Donald Trump tweeted that he's "I will be meeting with the NRA

:01:26. > :01:37.about not allowing people on the terrorist watch list

:01:38. > :01:42.or the no fly list to buy guns." The National Rifle Association

:01:43. > :01:44.is America's powerful gun lobby, Then the NRA released

:01:45. > :01:52.a statement, saying... "The NRA believes that terrorists

:01:53. > :01:54.should not be allowed to purchase Anyone on a terror watch list

:01:55. > :01:59.who tries to buy a gun should be thoroughly investigated by the FBI

:02:00. > :02:01.and the sale delayed In other developments, the wife

:02:02. > :02:11.of the gunman may face charges of being an accessory

:02:12. > :02:13.to murder in connection Noor Salman is reported to have told

:02:14. > :02:17.police she tried to talk Omar Mateen out of attacking the Pulse

:02:18. > :02:27.nightclub. The gunman's father said his son and

:02:28. > :02:31.those killed are victims of terrorism.

:02:32. > :02:42.In the past few days I have been talking to all of you guys. I was

:02:43. > :02:47.shocked, I was mad and salads through these few days -- mad and

:02:48. > :02:56.side. Today I was thinking why this happened, and for what reason this

:02:57. > :03:06.happened. Some I thought is that my son -- so my thought is that my son

:03:07. > :03:10.and the 50 people that passed away, and the other 52 people that got

:03:11. > :03:19.injured, we all the victim of terrorism. Michelle Fleury is in

:03:20. > :03:22.Orlando. Those comments were perhaps surprisingly from Donald Trump about

:03:23. > :03:28.gun control. What might surprise many people outside of the US, even

:03:29. > :03:32.if you are on a terrorist watch list you can legally buy a gun in the US?

:03:33. > :03:37.You can be on a terrorist watch list aren't on the no-fly list, and in

:03:38. > :03:43.both instances that does not stop anyone from going in and potentially

:03:44. > :03:48.legally buying a gun. It's is now become an issue. Boot Room says he

:03:49. > :03:54.would like to see gun sales to those on those lists and -- Donald Trump

:03:55. > :03:58.says. He would like to meet with the NRA later this week. You mentioned

:03:59. > :04:01.that statement from the National Rifle Association in America, they

:04:02. > :04:05.said they don't support terrorists having possession of a gun, and, in

:04:06. > :04:11.fact, I think you'll find that most will agree. Where the divide falls

:04:12. > :04:16.along political lines in the United States is what do you mean by that?

:04:17. > :04:20.How do you prevent someone from illegally acquiring a gun. Do you

:04:21. > :04:25.define that as someone on the terrorist watch list, the no-fly

:04:26. > :04:37.list? Those who are less cannot -- keen on seeing a bad will argue --

:04:38. > :04:42.on a bad will argue that Google accidentally get on those lists. To

:04:43. > :04:45.what is happening in Orlando, what are we hearing from the authorities

:04:46. > :04:52.about whether investigation is focusing? I am about a block away

:04:53. > :04:56.from Pulse, the gay nightclub where the attack occurred. There are still

:04:57. > :05:02.plenty of law enforcement vehicles behind me, this is still very much

:05:03. > :05:05.an active crime scene, as one law-enforcement officials said they

:05:06. > :05:09.were methodically going to the crime scene, trying to gather as much

:05:10. > :05:15.evidence as they can. We heard from the FBI a short while ago, they

:05:16. > :05:20.appealed for any information that people had on Omar Mateen, they

:05:21. > :05:23.asked for them to come forward. As for giving any more details about

:05:24. > :05:29.where they are, they said it was premature at this stage to talk

:05:30. > :05:35.about the investigation, they said it was still in the early stages. As

:05:36. > :05:40.for his wife, questions have circled about how much she knew when and

:05:41. > :05:43.whether or not charges will be brought against her. Law-enforcement

:05:44. > :05:53.officials say it was premature to discuss criminal charges against his

:05:54. > :05:56.wife. Thank you, Michelle Fleury. Police in Orlando say it is certain

:05:57. > :06:00.that to-year-old boy who dragged into the water by an alligator near

:06:01. > :06:02.a Disney resort has died. Parts of Disney World

:06:03. > :06:04.have been sealed off. All beaches in the resort

:06:05. > :06:06.have been closed. It follows the dramatic

:06:07. > :06:08.disappearance of a two-year-old boy as his family were relaxing

:06:09. > :06:10.by a lake here. The child was in the water,

:06:11. > :06:13.about a foot in the water, Father hears what is

:06:14. > :06:17.categorised as a splash. He goes and sees what is happening

:06:18. > :06:20.and he finds that his child basically is in the mouth

:06:21. > :06:25.of an alligator. The father goes to try to grab

:06:26. > :06:28.the child but the alligator gets the child, takes the child off

:06:29. > :06:31.into the water. Search and Rescue teams have been

:06:32. > :06:37.at work both in the air Trappers have caught and killed

:06:38. > :06:41.several alligators but have so far Well, they first said

:06:42. > :06:48.they were optimistic, but police now admit this is aobut

:06:49. > :06:52.finding a body. To at least give a devastated

:06:53. > :06:54.family the beginnings Aleem Maqbool, BBC News,

:06:55. > :07:05.in Orlando, Florida. Earlier Lauren Lyster from ABC News

:07:06. > :07:16.told the BBC how common Allocators are a part of Florida,

:07:17. > :07:21.they are here, they are prevalent, they are part of the habitat here.

:07:22. > :07:24.But there are questions about the concern over these alligators. There

:07:25. > :07:28.are some high-profile incidents where people have been injured or

:07:29. > :07:32.attacked by alligators. Looking at the statistics, the attacks are

:07:33. > :07:37.quite right, but at the same time Orlando is one of the most popular

:07:38. > :07:40.tourist destinations in the world, with an estimated 52 million

:07:41. > :07:44.visitors each year, so I'm sure we will have the conversation more. We

:07:45. > :07:50.do not how many gators are in this lagoon at the Disney World resort,

:07:51. > :07:52.but we heard from authorities that they work with Disney all the time

:07:53. > :07:55.to remove these gators. Oscar Pistorius has appeared

:07:56. > :07:58.in court without his prosthetic legs during a hearing

:07:59. > :08:00.to decide his sentence for murdering The sentence will be handed down

:08:01. > :08:03.on July sixth. Oscar Pistorius arrived in court

:08:04. > :08:08.knowing he could be just In a highly charged hearing,

:08:09. > :08:12.both sides pulled out The defence going to

:08:13. > :08:15.great lengths to show Prison, they say,

:08:16. > :08:21.would simply break him. In a carefully choreographed move,

:08:22. > :08:25.in front of a packed courtroom, Oscar Pistorius is asked

:08:26. > :08:29.to remove his prosthetic legs. He is very embarrassed

:08:30. > :08:31.but he understands it is As he shuffles around the court,

:08:32. > :08:40.his stumps exposed, gasps Then tears as Oscar Pistorius,

:08:41. > :08:47.his head bowed low, is positioned in front of the judge in what seems

:08:48. > :08:53.like a gesture of mercy. But the prosecution

:08:54. > :08:55.remained unmoved. His disability secondary,

:08:56. > :08:57.they say, given the gravity Gerrie Nel requesting permission

:08:58. > :09:04.for graphic photographs of Reeva Steenkamp after her death,

:09:05. > :09:06.never seen before, It is what her grieving father

:09:07. > :09:13.Barry Steenkamp said he wanted in his own testimony,

:09:14. > :09:18.as a deterrent to others. It is now more than three

:09:19. > :09:21.years since this couple's After the athlete fired four shots

:09:22. > :09:24.through a closed bathroom During the dramatic case

:09:25. > :09:28.which followed, Oscar Pistorius was found guilty of manslaughter

:09:29. > :09:31.but a year later, it was converted That carries a minimum sentence

:09:32. > :09:37.of 15 years, unless compelling The athlete has been portrayed

:09:38. > :09:44.as a trigger-happy bully It is now up to the judge to decide

:09:45. > :09:52.if she will exercise discretion Now the world's most famous athlete

:09:53. > :10:00.will learn of his fate Karen Allen, BBC News,

:10:01. > :10:07.Pretoria. The EU referendum is

:10:08. > :10:14.just over a week away. Today, pro-exit and Leave

:10:15. > :10:37.campaigners took their A generation of children are being

:10:38. > :10:40.stripped of their childhoods because of online pornography. The NSPCC

:10:41. > :10:45.found that more than 90% of teenagers had food does read review

:10:46. > :10:50.dispersant content online before the age of 14. John Brennan from the

:10:51. > :10:54.NSPCC said this could have damaging effects on young people. It is

:10:55. > :10:57.really important to recognise the type of imagery and pornography that

:10:58. > :11:02.children and young people have access to now. Really extreme,

:11:03. > :11:06.hard-core pornography, freely available, really easy to access

:11:07. > :11:12.with a couple of mouse clicks. It is really important to remember that.

:11:13. > :11:18.The notion that 11 and 12-year-olds are viewing this sort of material,

:11:19. > :11:21.getting access to it, sometimes mistakenly, by clicking on a link or

:11:22. > :11:25.something, then really getting quite disturbed and scared by what they

:11:26. > :11:27.see, can have quite profound and damaging effects for some children

:11:28. > :11:35.and young people. This is Outside Source live

:11:36. > :11:38.from the BBC newsroom. He says they would discuss possible

:11:39. > :11:44.restrictions on the sale of guns China has lodged a formal complaint

:11:45. > :11:54.with the United States over a planned meeting

:11:55. > :11:55.between President Obama The White House has barred media

:11:56. > :12:02.coverage of the meeting in an effort to preserve its diplomatic

:12:03. > :12:04.relationship with China. A special polio vaccination drive

:12:05. > :12:10.has been announced in the Indian It's because an active strain

:12:11. > :12:15.of the virus was found in sewage. Two years ago, it was formally

:12:19. > :12:27.of the July issue of He told the magazine that gay people

:12:28. > :12:34.should be proud of who they are. Lots of people looking at that story

:12:35. > :12:44.on the BBC News app. It's just over a week

:12:45. > :12:55.to go until the UK votes Some breaking news on the Egyptair

:12:56. > :12:58.crash back in May, the investigation committee into that plane crash has

:12:59. > :13:04.said it has spotted a plane wreckage. That was the Egyptair

:13:05. > :13:07.Abbas A320 flying overnight from Paris to Cairo, it crashed into the

:13:08. > :13:14.eastern Mediterranean Sea near Greece early on that morning. Flight

:13:15. > :13:19.MS804 had 66 passengers and crew on board. The water they work surging

:13:20. > :13:21.was thought to be about three kilometres deep. That announcement

:13:22. > :13:28.in the last few minutes that the investigation committee says it has

:13:29. > :13:30.spotted playing wreckage from Egyptair MS804. We will update you

:13:31. > :13:32.with any more details. It's just over a week

:13:33. > :13:35.to go until the UK votes on whether to stay in or leave

:13:36. > :13:37.the European Union. The argument has now

:13:38. > :13:39.taken to the waters. Leave campaigners led a flotilla

:13:40. > :13:42.of fishing boats up the Thames to urge Parliament take back

:13:43. > :13:44.control of British waters. They were met by a rival Remain

:13:45. > :13:47.fleet led by pop star Bob Geldof. There were reports of brief,

:13:48. > :13:49.light-hearted skirmishes - including the exchange of hose fire

:13:50. > :13:52.- and a police launch got involved Britain's Chancellor says

:13:53. > :13:58.he will have to slash public spending and increase taxes

:13:59. > :14:11.in an emergency Budget This tweet comes from our economic

:14:12. > :14:19.editor Kamal Ahmed, who has seen the Budget. He has taken a picture of

:14:20. > :14:23.it. It outlines ?30 billion of cuts. George Osborne has also said the

:14:24. > :14:25.NHS, education and policing could be affected. Laura Kuenssberg has the

:14:26. > :14:28.story. On land and almost sea,

:14:29. > :14:30.the referendum clashes Bob Geldof taking Nigel

:14:31. > :14:44.Farage on the Thames! Crowds and campaigners

:14:45. > :14:52.shouting the odds, too. The Chancellor with the man who used

:14:53. > :14:58.to do his job for Labour, claiming if you voted to leave,

:14:59. > :15:00.a sudden deterioration in the country's bank balance

:15:01. > :15:02.would mean whopping You've got a situation today

:15:03. > :15:08.where you've got a Conservative Chancellor and a Labour Chancellor

:15:09. > :15:11.telling people there will be a big gap in the public finances,

:15:12. > :15:15.that you would have to raise taxes and cut spending,

:15:16. > :15:19.and I tell you, there's only one thing worse

:15:20. > :15:23.than passing a Budget like that, it's not passing a Budget to solve

:15:24. > :15:25.the situation and sending But there's been furious backlash

:15:26. > :15:31.from those wanting out. Of course I support all the opinions

:15:32. > :15:41.in this heartfelt campaign. When you have today even the Leave

:15:42. > :15:44.campaign saying there will be an economic consequence,

:15:45. > :15:46.people need to know that before He claims he would have no choice

:15:47. > :15:55.but to deliver such bad news. Because he would have to fill

:15:56. > :15:59.a ?30 billion hole in the books. But the chances of George Osborne

:16:00. > :16:05.standing on these steps It would be almost impossible

:16:06. > :16:10.to get the support. But the message that Number 11 wants

:16:11. > :16:13.to give is that if the country votes to leave the EU,

:16:14. > :16:17.we will all pay one way or another. There are nearly 70 Tories who want

:16:18. > :16:23.out of the EU and they have made plain

:16:24. > :16:25.they will defy him. One MP told me, smart

:16:26. > :16:26.guy, stupid move. The Leave campaigners haven't

:16:27. > :16:28.made their views public This is no longer just

:16:29. > :16:34.about the referendum You have a Chancellor coming out

:16:35. > :16:39.and irresponsibly trying to scare I've never seen anything like it

:16:40. > :16:47.in 24 years and he needs to think again and stop this

:16:48. > :16:51.nonsense at once. You are saying if he carried

:16:52. > :16:54.on like this, he would have to go? What is responsible

:16:55. > :16:58.is for a Chancellor to say, no matter what happens,

:16:59. > :17:00.Britain is good enough But there could be huge turbulence

:17:01. > :17:03.if we vote to leave. The Out campaign have

:17:04. > :17:17.talked about five new laws To end EU immigration, to abolish

:17:18. > :17:19.VAT on energy bills, to negotiate new trade deals.

:17:20. > :17:21.It's almost like an alternative mini manifesto.

:17:22. > :17:23.This campaign has gone way beyond the ordinary,

:17:24. > :17:25.far past the usual insults and intrigue of politics,

:17:26. > :17:28.and now with a significant chunk of Tory MPs saying if the country

:17:29. > :17:31.votes out, they would try to oust George Osborne, it feels

:17:32. > :17:35.The police even got involved as campaigners weren't just messing

:17:36. > :17:38.around on the river, but taking each other on.

:17:39. > :17:41.There's little sign of apathy as this decision approaches.

:17:42. > :17:49.Every awareness of how much it counts.

:17:50. > :17:51.Here in the UK, voters are being told throughout

:17:52. > :17:54.the campaign that the European Union affects their everyday lives.

:17:55. > :17:57.Matthew Price has been looking at the costs and benefits of the EU

:17:58. > :18:00.by through the objects people encounter in their daily lives.

:18:01. > :18:18.What does an aeroplane tell you about the European Union? It all the

:18:19. > :18:22.very different 40 years ago. May I have your attention for a few

:18:23. > :18:29.moments, please? You may unfasten your seat belt... Ashtrays are

:18:30. > :18:33.provided in the arm of your chair. Reddish Airways flew the national

:18:34. > :18:37.flag, it was pretty much the only British airline that was allowed to

:18:38. > :18:41.fly in and out of the country -- reddish Airways. Our Government made

:18:42. > :18:45.an individual agreement with each and every country that we flew to.

:18:46. > :18:49.Only two outlines were allowed to fly any particular route. They

:18:50. > :18:55.limited the number of passengers that could fly every week and set

:18:56. > :18:59.the price. Written and the Dutch lead Britain in reducing these

:19:00. > :19:04.restrictions. The European community followed our lead, now any European

:19:05. > :19:08.airline can fly from any EU country to another one. We have cheaper

:19:09. > :19:12.flights, more choice and more pollution, and environmentalists

:19:13. > :19:15.say. We also have better compensation rights if and when our

:19:16. > :19:21.flights are delayed. With this change if we left the EU? That, I'm

:19:22. > :19:23.afraid, is yet another thing it is impossible to predict. -- would this

:19:24. > :19:34.change? Chinese authorities are launching

:19:35. > :19:36.a campaign to clean up counterfeit But the head of e-commerce giant

:19:37. > :19:41.Ali Baba says he thinks some counterfeit products are better

:19:42. > :19:44.than the originals. Jack Ma, China's second

:19:45. > :20:01.richest man said... Samira Hussain is in

:20:02. > :20:12.New York for us. Hello. What has been the reaction to

:20:13. > :20:17.what Jack Ma said about counterfeit goods? You can just imagine,

:20:18. > :20:24.considering just how much people have criticised Ali Baba and its

:20:25. > :20:28.marketplace for the number of counterfeit goods that it sells. So

:20:29. > :20:33.the fact you are hearing from Jack Ma, under an immense amount of

:20:34. > :20:36.pressure to crack down on those counterfeiters, basically saying

:20:37. > :20:41.that the products that are made by counterfeiters are often better than

:20:42. > :20:44.the original. There is certainly some swift comments coming from

:20:45. > :20:50.people, especially looking online. The criticism has been pretty harsh.

:20:51. > :20:55.How tough is that Chinese crackdown on and lots of good is going to be?

:20:56. > :21:00.It will be quite a challenge? There is certainly a lot of pressure

:21:01. > :21:07.growing. There is an international body with regards to counterfeiting.

:21:08. > :21:11.Because Ali Baba was a part of that, we saw the two big fashion retailers

:21:12. > :21:17.in the US withdrawing participation in this organisation in protest,

:21:18. > :21:21.because you have a company that just sells so much fake goods on its

:21:22. > :21:27.website. There is a lot of pressure on Ali Baba to do something about

:21:28. > :21:31.it. How much, exactly, is being done, is up for debate. But if you

:21:32. > :21:36.ask fashion retailers in the United States, they would certainly say,

:21:37. > :21:42.not enough. Thanks very much, Samir Hussein in New York.

:21:43. > :21:46.Let's return to breaking news in the last couple of minutes about the

:21:47. > :21:49.Egyptair flight, according to the Egyptian authorities the wreckage

:21:50. > :21:54.has been spotted, it was the plane that crashed into the Mediterranean

:21:55. > :21:59.last month near Greece, the Airbus A320 flying overnight from Paris to

:22:00. > :22:04.Cairo, crashing into the eastern Mediterranean Sea on the 19th of

:22:05. > :22:09.May. We hear a vassal contracted by the Egyptian government to join the

:22:10. > :22:14.search for the data recorders and the wreckage of the A320 have

:22:15. > :22:17.identified several main locations of the debris. Not saying any detail

:22:18. > :22:25.about whether the report -- recorders have been located or had

:22:26. > :22:31.signals heard. Flight MS804 had 66 passengers and crew on board. The

:22:32. > :22:35.CEO is up to three kilometres deep, still a very challenging task for

:22:36. > :22:39.investigators, but we hear they have located several main places where

:22:40. > :22:42.the wreckage is in the sea -- the sea is up to three kilometres deep.

:22:43. > :22:45.There's been some trouble in Lille in France between England football

:22:46. > :22:49.We saw riot police use tear gas to keep the crowd back.

:22:50. > :22:52.It came soon after the end of Russia's game against Slovakia.

:22:53. > :22:58.Danny Savage was nearby when it happened.

:22:59. > :23:06.-- Ben Brown was nearby. These are England fans who are singing and

:23:07. > :23:09.dancing in the street in the centre of Lille outside one of the bars

:23:10. > :23:14.here, drinking a lot, as you can see. There is a lot of French riot

:23:15. > :23:19.police standing guard here. They have got their helmets on, they have

:23:20. > :23:24.their shields and there batons as well in case there is any further

:23:25. > :23:28.trouble. There have been some isolated skirmishes in Lille today,

:23:29. > :23:33.the most serious was a few hours ago when there was a loud bang, some

:23:34. > :23:38.sort of thunder flash and being good fans ran towards it. It appears that

:23:39. > :23:42.that was when there were Russian fans in one of the side streets,

:23:43. > :23:48.they were being kept back by French riot police. England fans surged

:23:49. > :23:52.towards that area where the riot police work, the riot police seem to

:23:53. > :23:57.have fired tear gas and pepper spray at both the Russian fans and the

:23:58. > :24:01.England fans. It is not really clear whether there was any fighting

:24:02. > :24:04.between the two sets of fans, it seems there probably was not. Both

:24:05. > :24:08.the Russian fans are here because of their game against Slovakia today

:24:09. > :24:16.and the England fans I hear because of their game just down the road

:24:17. > :24:20.tomorrow, about 20 miles away in Lens. There is always going to be

:24:21. > :24:24.tension here, now there has been some trouble. Let me show you what

:24:25. > :24:29.is happening around here, you can see a line of police vehicles with

:24:30. > :24:35.their sirens on, and reinforcements coming in just in case there is any

:24:36. > :24:42.further trouble. Something like 4000 police, gendarme 's, riot police and

:24:43. > :24:49.emergency services have been brought into Lille, and also 2500, we're

:24:50. > :24:53.hearing, in Lens. So the French police every be ramped up their

:24:54. > :24:58.presence in this area of France. Ben Brown in Lille. We're hearing

:24:59. > :25:05.things have got considerably quieter. We saw fans contained in

:25:06. > :25:09.one place, lines of police but no episodes of violence visible, just

:25:10. > :25:13.police found stations, nothing to see in this particular shot, this is

:25:14. > :25:18.just one small part of the city, but there was a lot of focus on what

:25:19. > :25:24.could potentially happen in Lille because of England fans, a game in

:25:25. > :25:28.Lens tomorrow against Wales, then Russia in Lille playing Slovakia

:25:29. > :25:32.earlier, and potential clashes. There was a huge police presence. No

:25:33. > :25:41.further episode since the one Ben was talking about earlier.

:25:42. > :25:46.Bringing you up to date with some news we heard in the last few hours,

:25:47. > :25:50.international drugs testers were subjected to intimidation and

:25:51. > :25:55.threats of expulsion by Russian government agents when they

:25:56. > :25:56.attempted to carry out doping controls in military cities,

:25:57. > :26:01.according to the World Anti-Doping Agency. We will bring you more on

:26:02. > :26:09.that later in the programme. Stay with us.

:26:10. > :26:13.It is time to take a look at what the weather is doing elsewhere

:26:14. > :26:14.around the globe. Starting
