:00:11. > :00:17.This is Outside Source. The battle for Mosul steps up a gear

:00:18. > :00:19.as the Inaki Army retakes the City Airport. The BBC is on the front

:00:20. > :00:24.line. In the last few minutes so called

:00:25. > :00:30.Islamic State have been watering disposition just further ahead.

:00:31. > :00:34.Just over nine months after one of the greatest triumphs in footballing

:00:35. > :00:38.history, Leicester City have fired their manager, Claudio Ranieri.

:00:39. > :00:44.America's top diplomat is in Mexico at a time of high tension between

:00:45. > :01:00.the two over the board and the flow of migrants Republican members are

:01:01. > :01:06.coming together. Alan has been speaking. Just like

:01:07. > :01:13.they were wrong before, they are absolutely wrong today. -- Bannon.

:01:14. > :01:16.The latest research is that we should be eating ten portions of

:01:17. > :01:33.fruit and vegetables a day to stay healthy.

:01:34. > :01:40.Iraqi security forces have recaptured Mosul airport. Let's

:01:41. > :01:46.remind you where the second city is. We can bring up a map showing the

:01:47. > :01:49.airport. Our map is out of date after today's offensive because the

:01:50. > :01:54.Army has swept over to that key target. Quentin Somerville is with

:01:55. > :01:58.the Iraqi forces fighting the self-styled Islamic State. He has

:01:59. > :02:07.been posting videos on Twitter, showing us how today unfolded.

:02:08. > :02:17.You can hear gunfire. This is one of the last remaining villagers near to

:02:18. > :02:22.the City Airport. They are moving from multiple directions. Above you

:02:23. > :02:32.can hear coalition aircraft. Those aircraft have been hammering this

:02:33. > :02:35.area and -- in preparation of this attack. The Iraqi army have been

:02:36. > :02:42.telling people to stay in their homes. Yesterday we were able to see

:02:43. > :02:45.it in the areas to the north of here IS flag still flying. They will try

:02:46. > :02:51.and change that because the attack on the airport is now underway.

:02:52. > :02:58.Iraqi forces have made it to the perimeter of Mosul's airport. Just

:02:59. > :03:05.over here we can see the airport stretching out four kilometres wide,

:03:06. > :03:10.apparently. That sugar factory, just to the left of the picture,

:03:11. > :03:15.yesterday the IS flag was coming from -- hanging from there. No

:03:16. > :03:24.longer. All around this area there have been heavy air strikes. There

:03:25. > :03:30.been moving slowly forward through been moving slowly forward through

:03:31. > :03:34.the last village taking, which was captured last night. You can just

:03:35. > :03:37.see it there. We are now on the airfield of Mosul airport. That is

:03:38. > :03:42.the Iraqi flag flying. Those are Federal police units. In the

:03:43. > :03:47.distance you can see burning and smoke from some of the buildings.

:03:48. > :03:50.The last few minutes, so-called IS have been monitoring this position

:03:51. > :03:56.just a little bit further ahead. An armoured column of Iraqi security

:03:57. > :04:01.forces were going down the road towards the airport when one of them

:04:02. > :04:04.hit a roadside bomb, an IED, a lieutenant was killed, and we

:04:05. > :04:09.believe there were other casualties. You might be able to hear

:04:10. > :04:13.helicopters still up ahead. -- overhead. They will press on with

:04:14. > :04:20.their attack to make it to the terminal building. That is the

:04:21. > :04:24.target Iraqi forces are now inside. Practically showing every step of

:04:25. > :04:28.the Army. But a warning from Quentin on Twitter that the attack its more

:04:29. > :04:30.collocated because they are in IS mortar range, there are more

:04:31. > :04:38.civilians around, but they, the Army, press on. As that is going on

:04:39. > :04:43.in the West. Let's get back to the map. To the Eastern area.

:04:44. > :04:48.Authorities say IS sleeper cells are a constant and serious threat. Our

:04:49. > :04:52.BBC Arabic correspondent has been given a rare access to the raids on

:04:53. > :04:56.those sleeper cells. Here is his report.

:04:57. > :05:06.On the hunt for sleeper cells. These agents from the National Security

:05:07. > :05:08.service are on the way to addresses across eastern Mosul. Chasing those

:05:09. > :05:19.who fight for the so-called Islamic State. And it isn't long before they

:05:20. > :05:39.tracked down their first suspect. After his arrest he was questioned

:05:40. > :05:47.about other suspects. The agents learn there are more men

:05:48. > :06:15.in the house. Three suspects are rounded up.

:06:16. > :06:23.Including a teenager. This man claims he is innocent. A warning

:06:24. > :06:29.shot. In this area everyone is treated

:06:30. > :06:40.with suspicion. Security is so important in Mosul at

:06:41. > :06:44.the moment. It is a big concern. Raids on sleeper cells are

:06:45. > :06:49.continuing. They are so vital to security. However, it is not known

:06:50. > :06:54.how long that will take. Of the nine suspects on the wanted list, only

:06:55. > :06:58.six were found. The security services say it took four months to

:06:59. > :07:06.gather enough evidence to conduct this rate. And the men will face

:07:07. > :07:11.terrorism charges in court. So far the security forces have rounded up

:07:12. > :07:17.well over 1000 suspects. Which has made these men a target for IS.

:07:18. > :07:22.Their commander, who does not want to reveal his identity, says they

:07:23. > :07:25.need to expand their search. TRANSLATION: There are many

:07:26. > :07:30.uninhabited neighbourhoods. At the same time we needed big security and

:07:31. > :07:34.intelligence effort so we can cordon off some areas and search them.

:07:35. > :07:40.Restoring security in Mosul is a delicate task. The past, some Iraqi

:07:41. > :07:46.security forces have been accused of abuse and sectarianism. The approach

:07:47. > :07:48.taken over the coming months will have a big impact on the future of

:07:49. > :08:01.the city. This is Claudio Ranieri. Look at the

:08:02. > :08:05.joy on his face. He had just met Leicester City to their greatest

:08:06. > :08:08.triumph in 133 years. The team won the Premier League for the first

:08:09. > :08:13.time. Fast forward nine months, he has been sacked. The Leicester City

:08:14. > :08:16.bought a night announcing they have parted ways with Claudio Ranieri

:08:17. > :08:20.after a string of poor form. There has been a lot of reaction to this.

:08:21. > :08:28.Gary Lineker, for example. This is his tweet:

:08:29. > :08:37.Let's go to the BBC sport centre. Mike is there standing by. What a

:08:38. > :08:42.fall from grace. How do you explain it to fans, or

:08:43. > :08:47.people outside football? My children, you don't follow sport,

:08:48. > :08:50.will see this on the news. It is like a fairy princess, marries a

:08:51. > :08:53.prince, it is a fairy tale, they are about to live happily ever after,

:08:54. > :08:57.yet six months later the honeymoon is over, they are both working hard,

:08:58. > :09:01.maybe the magic isn't quite the same, and they are filing for

:09:02. > :09:05.divorce. What's going on? Leicester and Claudio Ranieri are over. It

:09:06. > :09:08.might sound crazy. But that is how it feels to Leicester City fans.

:09:09. > :09:14.Getting rid of the man who made their dreams come true. Some people

:09:15. > :09:20.thought it was a joke on social media that broke. 5000 to one where

:09:21. > :09:24.the odds for them last year, but Claudio Ranieri took them to being

:09:25. > :09:41.Premier League champions. The club have said:

:09:42. > :09:45.They say that he has brought outstanding qualities. They

:09:46. > :09:51.recognise his management skills. And his measured approach. Leicester

:09:52. > :09:55.always knew that he would bring that the club. They also mention his

:09:56. > :09:59.warmth, charm and charisma. They've already transformed perceptions of

:10:00. > :10:05.the club. They have been profiled on a global scale. They have thanked

:10:06. > :10:09.him. Many fans didn't expect this. Especially after last night. They

:10:10. > :10:16.got through to the knockout phase of the Champions League. They played in

:10:17. > :10:19.Sevilla last night. They scored. Jamie Vardy scored. They seemed

:10:20. > :10:24.favourites to win the second leg and go through. However, despite that

:10:25. > :10:28.spirit shining through, just for that night, you have to look at

:10:29. > :10:33.their form. No away wins in the Premier League this season. And no

:10:34. > :10:40.goals in the Premier League at all in 2017. That is what has cost

:10:41. > :10:43.Claudio Ranieri his job tonight. Thank you. More reaction later.

:10:44. > :10:52.We will now move on to Mexico. Trump wants to build a bigger border war.

:10:53. > :10:56.His secretary of state Rex Tillerson has gone today to Mexico City to

:10:57. > :11:05.mend fences. He was expected to meet the Mexican president this evening,

:11:06. > :11:08.on the table that wall, and the administration's controversial new

:11:09. > :11:10.deportation guidelines for illegal immigrants. Rex Tillerson speaking

:11:11. > :11:16.at an earlier news conference had this to say.

:11:17. > :11:20.In our meetings we acknowledge that a relationship filled with vibrant

:11:21. > :11:25.colours, two strong sovereign countries from time to time will

:11:26. > :11:31.have differences. We listened closely. And carefully to each other

:11:32. > :11:33.as we respectfully and patiently raised our respective concerns. Our

:11:34. > :11:39.conversations covered the full range of bilateral issues. We reaffirmed

:11:40. > :11:45.our close cooperation on economic and commercial issues such as

:11:46. > :11:49.energy, legal migration, security, educational exchanges, and people to

:11:50. > :11:54.people ties. Perhaps the first steps towards a

:11:55. > :11:58.better relationship, but the Mexican president is yet to meet Trump after

:11:59. > :12:01.cancelling a trip to Washington last month. And former Mexican leaders

:12:02. > :12:08.have been weighing in on the current tensions. A prolific tweeter, like

:12:09. > :12:17.Trump, and a fierce critic, let me show you what he has had to say :

:12:18. > :12:28.Here is another former president, Calderon, on the need for a rational

:12:29. > :12:31.discussion. You cannot govern a country, and you cannot establish a

:12:32. > :12:36.relationship with such an important neighbour such as Mexico through

:12:37. > :12:41.your twitter account. That is the reason why I believe it is important

:12:42. > :12:44.to keep and preserve a dialogue with the secretary of State and the

:12:45. > :12:50.secretary of internal security, coming to Mexico today, but not at

:12:51. > :12:57.any price will stop and if the president of the United States wants

:12:58. > :13:02.to play with Mexico, Mexico needs to put on the table all of the issues

:13:03. > :13:07.related to bilateral cooperation. -- but not at any price. Including

:13:08. > :13:10.national security with the US. We should not cooperate with the

:13:11. > :13:14.country that is threatening Mexico and talking about us in such an

:13:15. > :13:20.offensive way. Trump cannot take Mexico for granted. We can speak to

:13:21. > :13:26.will grant who is in Mexico City. We can tell there are a lot of bruised

:13:27. > :13:30.feelings among senior Mexicans. There are. It's been interesting to

:13:31. > :13:36.watch the Mexican political elite rally around a flag, even rally

:13:37. > :13:40.around the Mexican president who is not popular with the electorate.

:13:41. > :13:47.When it comes to Trump, most Mexicans are on the same page, that

:13:48. > :13:56.they are unified in their voice against his what they described as

:13:57. > :14:00.offensive position against Mexico. This is partly what this strip is

:14:01. > :14:08.about. A mixture of a charm offensive and a clean-up operation.

:14:09. > :14:13.-- trip. Trying to build bridges. Trying to put out, kind of, a better

:14:14. > :14:17.relationship, a better sense of the bilateral conversation between the

:14:18. > :14:21.Mexican government and the Trump administration. Because, to get in

:14:22. > :14:23.the worst state it has been in for decades.

:14:24. > :14:27.Something of a clean-up operation. Aren't the missile still coming?

:14:28. > :14:31.Trump seemed to him today he is prepared to use the military to

:14:32. > :14:37.throw illegal Mexican immigrants out of the country.

:14:38. > :14:43.It is very complicated when we get these mixed messages. President

:14:44. > :14:49.strong made that comment to the panel of assorted manufacturing

:14:50. > :14:53.CEOs. At the same time, a couple of hours later, you have the Homeland

:14:54. > :14:59.security secretary saying that there will not be using the notary in

:15:00. > :15:07.immigration enforcement. Which is it? -- using military enforcement in

:15:08. > :15:14.immigration. A lot of Mexicans are wondering how this will play out. It

:15:15. > :15:19.is not just in terms of immigration. It's also trade, the future of the

:15:20. > :15:24.free trade agreement, the suggestion that taxes might be slapped on

:15:25. > :15:30.Mexican import. There is a whole lot of things, not to mention the wall

:15:31. > :15:34.itself, which is very controversial. When you get to the border will, it

:15:35. > :15:39.is not just at the Mexicans that are effective. So many nationalities

:15:40. > :15:45.tried the estates and that is how they there. That was raised pretty

:15:46. > :15:51.well right the Mexicans today. I wouldn't call it a press conference

:15:52. > :15:59.because there were not questions taken by the press. The Mexicans

:16:00. > :16:06.pointed out how difficult in El Salvador, Guatemala, these nations

:16:07. > :16:12.that are suffering in terms of their economies and the gang violence, how

:16:13. > :16:16.the United States has a duty of care, rather than constantly

:16:17. > :16:24.berating Mexico, Italy is to look at the broader picture and do more with

:16:25. > :16:31.Mexico and help. -- it needs to look at the broader picture. Still to

:16:32. > :16:34.come, Republicans are gathering to attend the Conservative political

:16:35. > :16:39.action conference. The president is set to speak tomorrow. We'll be live

:16:40. > :16:55.in Washington. Net migration to the UK has dropped

:16:56. > :17:00.to drudge and 73,000 in the year to September. That means that that

:17:01. > :17:12.40,000 fewer people came to the UK then left it. -- has dropped to

:17:13. > :17:16.273,000. There has been the highest number of Hungary and add remaining

:17:17. > :17:24.migrants ever. The Government is still far from reaching its

:17:25. > :17:28.migration target. I think it's part of a pattern that EU migration to

:17:29. > :17:33.the UK to look for work, that is what we continue to see from newer

:17:34. > :17:37.and older members, it is only when you leave the EU that we will have

:17:38. > :17:42.some control. Let's not be in any doubt that the UK will always be a

:17:43. > :17:45.welcoming place for those that want to contribute and working. There is

:17:46. > :17:53.no support for uncontrolled immigration.

:17:54. > :18:10.You are watching out side source, live from the BBC newsroom. Iraqi

:18:11. > :18:16.forces have taken Mosul airport. This is a key move. Elsewhere, BBC's

:18:17. > :18:22.Jennie 's reports that North Korea has accused militia of conspiring

:18:23. > :18:31.with South Korea over the death of Kim Jong owner's for them. State

:18:32. > :18:35.media simply as a citizen. Peace talks to end the fighting in Serbia

:18:36. > :18:45.are taking place in Geneva. Russia has asked the Government to halt its

:18:46. > :18:54.air attacks. -- the fighting in serve. These are rare Siberian

:18:55. > :19:00.tigers filmed in north-east China. It didn't take long for one of the

:19:01. > :19:05.Tigers to get to the device that was taking the shots and break it. In

:19:06. > :19:12.the meantime, the drone took some incredible pictures. Thousands of

:19:13. > :19:16.American Republicans have gathered for the annual Conservative

:19:17. > :19:23.political action conference that is held in the present, just outside

:19:24. > :19:28.the capital. It's attended by senior names including Donald Trump.

:19:29. > :19:35.Earlier we heard from Stephen Barron. He was energetically

:19:36. > :19:42.defending the President's record. That is where you've seen executive

:19:43. > :19:47.orders, the way he's gone through the Supreme Court, the other 102

:19:48. > :19:51.judges that people pick. That is what the mainstream media board

:19:52. > :19:57.report. Just like they were dead wrong on the chaos of the campaign,

:19:58. > :20:03.they are absolutely wrong about what is going on today. We have a team

:20:04. > :20:05.that is grinding it through. The mainstream media better understand

:20:06. > :20:11.something, all of these promises will be permitted. If you didn't

:20:12. > :20:19.make that message, that is Steve Banning making it clear. President

:20:20. > :20:26.strong will make good on promises. Here is Mr Bannon on why that

:20:27. > :20:32.matters. One of the most pivotal moment in modern American history

:20:33. > :20:36.was the immediate withdrawal from that. That got us out of a trade

:20:37. > :20:42.deal and got us back our sovereignty. We are already working

:20:43. > :20:45.in consultation with the help. We are thinking through a whole raft of

:20:46. > :20:51.amazing bilateral trading relationships. That will be

:20:52. > :20:55.positioned America in the world as if we are treating nation and start

:20:56. > :21:00.to bring jobs, high value-added manufacturing jobs, back to the USA.

:21:01. > :21:08.Well, we have a reporter standing by. Really interesting detour that

:21:09. > :21:13.point about economic nationalism. Not the kind of line you would

:21:14. > :21:21.appeared previously from conservatives. -- he would have

:21:22. > :21:25.heard previously. Yes, he was sitting next to a much more

:21:26. > :21:33.establishment Republican. When he was asked for his vision, he spoke

:21:34. > :21:36.about the most right... Steve Banning was talking about a new

:21:37. > :21:44.political order and splitting American priorities first. He wanted

:21:45. > :21:48.to start emphasising US culture as that were not some sort of vague

:21:49. > :21:53.notion of a open marketplace but to be have a reason for being. That is

:21:54. > :21:58.decidedly different from what you normally hear from Republicans but

:21:59. > :22:01.that is why he is considered to be the leading strategists and the mind

:22:02. > :22:08.behind Donald Trump. We got the chance to hear from him today. I

:22:09. > :22:11.will just show the viewer as the Tweet that says that the white

:22:12. > :22:25.supremacist was thrown out. He is one of the people considered a

:22:26. > :22:33.leader of the old thread. -- of the alt right. Inside the convention

:22:34. > :22:39.hall, the head of the American Conservative union, running this

:22:40. > :22:47.conference, whilst he is outside and drawing attention from the

:22:48. > :22:54.reporters. The mainstream is trying to distance itself from the white

:22:55. > :22:58.nationalists. Honestly, they supported the current president

:22:59. > :23:06.during the campaign, saying he had the same ideas of them. Let's start

:23:07. > :23:15.on the electric car maker and company. It's straight have been

:23:16. > :23:20.soaring. Yesterday, Tesla reported that it had better than expected

:23:21. > :23:28.results. Shares fell by 6% today. Time to go to New York and ask why.

:23:29. > :23:33.In part, if you look at yesterday, it doesn't tell the whole story. You

:23:34. > :23:39.go back a couple of months when shares had been on the rise. It's

:23:40. > :23:41.got to the point when it started to rival other car makers that have

:23:42. > :23:48.been in business for it a lot longer than Tesla. The reason for that is

:23:49. > :23:58.that investors are increasingly excited by the prospect of the Model

:23:59. > :24:03.three. They are hoping to have that on sale by July. If that is on

:24:04. > :24:09.track, the company says it will actually start to make a profit. It

:24:10. > :24:17.has only made a profit twice since it made itself public. A lot of hope

:24:18. > :24:20.is pinned on the next model. That is why you see some nerves starting to

:24:21. > :24:26.creep in and the share price falling back. As you talk about that model

:24:27. > :24:41.coming out, I will show you the creeps. -- I will show you the

:24:42. > :24:49.tweets. Tesla really wants to be the face of the future or to industry.

:24:50. > :24:53.It does and equally linchpin of that is getting the mass-market. It

:24:54. > :25:02.cannot just be a small, niche player. Having said that, $35,000 is

:25:03. > :25:09.still a bit richer than many other cars. But gibberish to other in the

:25:10. > :25:18.family of Tesla vehicles, it is aimed at a broader market. -- but

:25:19. > :25:23.gibberish to other in the family. You can expect to see the share

:25:24. > :25:29.price surge again. There has also been changed at the top. The Chief

:25:30. > :25:36.Executive has been with the company for 15 months and announced he was

:25:37. > :25:43.leaving. The former CFO role is coming back on. That has also

:25:44. > :25:49.unsettled investor. Much more to come including our look at what is

:25:50. > :25:50.happening in the French election campaigns and the German election

:25:51. > :25:53.campaigns.
