:00:18. > :00:23.Intelligence sharing between the US and the UK has been resumed.
:00:24. > :00:25.British police investigating the Manchester bombing had stopped
:00:26. > :00:27.sharing information after these photos from the scene
:00:28. > :00:36.Earlier, the British prime minister spoke to the American president.
:00:37. > :00:39.I will be making clear to President Trump today that
:00:40. > :00:41.intelligence that is shared between law enforcement agencies
:00:42. > :00:44.The total number of people in custody after Monday night's
:00:45. > :00:47.As the police continue to hunt down the suicide bomber's
:00:48. > :00:49.network of associates, we'll bring you all
:00:50. > :00:53.We'll also talk to the only journalist allowed into the mosque
:00:54. > :00:56.that the attacker and his family regularly attended.
:00:57. > :00:59.In other news, President Trump has been meeting the leaders
:01:00. > :01:17.He left no doubt that America First remains his key priority.
:01:18. > :01:20.Someone has just asked if we are picking up tweets during the
:01:21. > :01:41.programme. We definitely are. We've been talking about Donald
:01:42. > :02:23.Trump's trip to Brussels today. Donald Trump will be flying to
:02:24. > :02:33.Sicily to model where there is a two day summit. How do you assess today?
:02:34. > :02:36.It was quite a strange day. You do not have to be a body language
:02:37. > :02:41.expert to feel that a lot of the Nato leaders, European leaders, were
:02:42. > :02:44.uncomfortable with Donald Trump standing up on the stage and
:02:45. > :02:52.harrying them about not paying their fair share for defence spending. The
:02:53. > :02:57.promised mark of 2% of GDP, the majority of Nato members do not do
:02:58. > :03:01.that and he essentially lectured them, it could I did me of
:03:02. > :03:05.inauguration day when Donald Trump stood up and talked about all of the
:03:06. > :03:10.politicians behind him saying they were benefiting the rest of the
:03:11. > :03:13.country was not. If we look at that in the context of America that is
:03:14. > :03:22.precisely what a lot of his supporters want him to do. Exactly.
:03:23. > :03:24.Making big European elite feel uncomfortable the same way he
:03:25. > :03:30.disrupted the US establishment during the presidential campaign. If
:03:31. > :03:34.nothing else it will help him a little bit, make him feel like he is
:03:35. > :03:38.living up to the campaign promises where he called me to obsolete and
:03:39. > :03:45.putting America first and having allies pay their fair share. Very
:03:46. > :03:47.different to what we saw in Israel and Saudi Arabia and Rome when he
:03:48. > :03:56.was much more accommodating to his host. He is off to the G7 next. What
:03:57. > :04:01.will his goals be? Other leaders will be talking about the
:04:02. > :04:09.environment and things, trying to back him down as far as immigration
:04:10. > :04:13.lows. He is going to push his line. Talking about enforcing borders,
:04:14. > :04:19.that was a strange thing to hear a nanny to speech. To deal with
:04:20. > :04:23.immigration. You will hear more of the same at this meeting and it will
:04:24. > :04:28.be an interesting thing to see how that resolved. A Republican
:04:29. > :04:35.candidate in Montana... A Republican candidate in a special
:04:36. > :04:38.congressional election in Montana has been charged for assaulting
:04:39. > :04:46.a British reporter. You were waiting to make a decision
:04:47. > :04:54.about health care... We will be talking about that later. Speak with
:04:55. > :04:59.Shane, please. I am sick and tired of you guys. The last time you did
:05:00. > :05:11.the same thing. Get the hail out of here. The last time you did the same
:05:12. > :05:17.thing. Fox news confirmed the account of the guardian reporter. It
:05:18. > :05:21.is not clever. No. The Republican candidate said he was assaulted by
:05:22. > :05:29.the guardian reporter. That is not held up by the teapot the eyewitness
:05:30. > :05:33.accounts. It is interesting to see the reaction. The way the Republican
:05:34. > :05:38.party is handling this, sitting on their hands, there was a release
:05:39. > :05:46.from the Senate committee saying that essentially this was not the
:05:47. > :05:52.man that we know, it was a mistake, but downplaying it. We have only had
:05:53. > :05:56.a few Republicans say that this was a reprehensible behaviour and not in
:05:57. > :06:00.keeping with traditional political norms and we have heard that a lot
:06:01. > :06:05.over the past year when politicians say something that does not keep
:06:06. > :06:10.with the norm and yet the party stands behind him for electoral
:06:11. > :06:14.gain. We are not going to prejudge what the police or a court might
:06:15. > :06:18.conclude but you can hear the animosity towards the poor to the
:06:19. > :06:23.media. It is hard not to see that in the product context of the general
:06:24. > :06:27.atmosphere between right of centre politicians and journalists. Donald
:06:28. > :06:32.Trump said that certain media outlets were enemies of the American
:06:33. > :06:38.people. The polar drying the line between that type of rhetoric and
:06:39. > :06:43.violence against reporters. He has been charged with a misdemeanour
:06:44. > :06:48.assault by the local Sheriff. He is supposed to have the hearing after
:06:49. > :06:54.the election. Upward of 60% may be of voters in Montana have already
:06:55. > :06:59.cast a ballot so he could go on to win. Republicans a little off the
:07:00. > :07:04.hook because if he loses they can say this is not representative of
:07:05. > :07:08.the mood of the nation, an anti-Trump groundswell, it is a
:07:09. > :07:14.one-off. Whereas if he wins he can say they won despite all of this.
:07:15. > :07:19.Republicans are not in peril. That is what people are watching with
:07:20. > :07:24.special elections, any sign of anti-republican groundswell going
:07:25. > :07:29.into next year's midterm elections. Is that it? I guess that is it. I am
:07:30. > :07:38.back to DC. Wayne Rooney came on at the end for
:07:39. > :07:51.Manchester United. Wayne Rooney's future as an England
:07:52. > :07:54.international is in doubt. He's been left out of the squad
:07:55. > :08:03.for its upcoming matches It is strange that this does not
:08:04. > :08:08.come as a surprise. Gareth Southgate realises that Wayne Rooney has not
:08:09. > :08:13.had a lot of game time so he is Manchester United's leading
:08:14. > :08:19.goal-scorer and England's leading goal-scorer with 53 and England's
:08:20. > :08:24.most capped outfield with 119 so he could play in a record-breaking
:08:25. > :08:31.fourth World Cup in 2018. He has made himself available. Is Gareth
:08:32. > :08:34.Southgate going to pick him? That will be the question because he has
:08:35. > :08:38.left out of a qualifier towards the end of last year and two games this
:08:39. > :08:44.year against Lithuania and Germany in March. For Wayne Rooney it is a
:08:45. > :08:49.case of he needs to be playing so does he play in the Premier League
:08:50. > :08:55.for Manchester United? Is it to Everton he goes or overseas? If he
:08:56. > :09:00.does that he will be only the second person to actually play for the
:09:01. > :09:10.English national side having played overseas after David Beckham. Played
:09:11. > :09:24.for two Premier League clubs, I will not be playing for anymore.

:13:34. > :13:38.we have spoken to who live here do not want to come on camera and you
:13:39. > :13:42.can see why. There is one thing that keeps coming up. Stopping
:13:43. > :13:46.radicalisation does not depend on Imam is that teachers it depends on
:13:47. > :13:52.opportunities for young people. As one dad said, why would you blow
:13:53. > :13:58.yourself up if you had enough to live for? They are worried there
:13:59. > :14:02.will be repercussions. How did you feel on Tuesday when you find out?
:14:03. > :14:07.How does that make people think of me or my brother or my father or my

:14:26. > :14:36.worried about her going to concerts. This is Outside Source live
:14:37. > :14:38.from the BBC newsroom. Our lead story is that intelligence
:14:39. > :14:58.sharing between the UK I have just had a message asking us
:14:59. > :15:08.to look at the connection between the UK and Libya. Police in Britain
:15:09. > :15:12.continued to investigate the Manchester bombing. They had stopped
:15:13. > :15:15.sharing information that they have said they have received fresh
:15:16. > :15:19.assurances and will continue to work with their US counterparts. We are
:15:20. > :15:28.learning more about the man who carried out that attack. One of his
:15:29. > :15:34.last things to do before the attack was to call his mother.
:15:35. > :15:39.He called him and asked can you give me my mum to call her. Something
:15:40. > :15:58.going on there. We also learned that Salman Abedi
:15:59. > :16:18.had been in Libya very recently. That means he returned from Libya
:16:19. > :16:19.this month. We learned that Libya had been monitoring his younger
:16:20. > :16:55.brother. Certainly while Libya is his
:16:56. > :17:00.original home country, he is Libyan, he has been travelling to Libya, we
:17:01. > :17:04.do not know how many times he has been to Libya but he kept relations
:17:05. > :17:10.with his original country because his father and brother are still
:17:11. > :17:16.there and they are in custody. On his way back he stopped in Istanbul
:17:17. > :17:22.in Germany but only on a transitional basis, he did not enter
:17:23. > :17:30.the country. It is hard to speculate whether he was radicalised in Libya
:17:31. > :17:36.or here in Manchester on in the UK because some of his neighbours are
:17:37. > :17:44.seeing that he was naive, he wanted to be in a gang, he did not sure a
:17:45. > :17:54.bright mind and others were saying he showed early signs of
:17:55. > :17:57.radicalisation and he still might be contacted the authorities. It is
:17:58. > :18:09.hard to know whether he was radicalised in Libya or Britain but
:18:10. > :18:13.certainly his brother is a member of Isis and some reports have indicated
:18:14. > :18:17.his father was part available in fighting group that had links to
:18:18. > :18:24.Al-Qaeda and was part of the uprising against Connacht Gaddafi in
:18:25. > :18:30.2011 and fought a long with more radical Islamist groups in the years
:18:31. > :18:35.that follow. We do not know exactly how his radicalisation process has
:18:36. > :18:43.evolved but certainly there are links to his home country and these
:18:44. > :18:48.will be found soon. We are increasingly sure that his father
:18:49. > :18:51.and many other people fled Libya because of Gaddafi and then returned
:18:52. > :18:59.relatively recently to fight Gaddafi. To fight Gedda fee and to
:19:00. > :19:04.visit Libya on a more sustained basis after the fall of the Gaddafi
:19:05. > :19:12.regime. We know that Tripoli is not necessarily the most of and place at
:19:13. > :19:17.least in Northern Africa and government as major difficulties in
:19:18. > :19:23.policing Tripoli and the country as a whole. Isis has a strong foothold
:19:24. > :19:32.in Libya and European countries and the US are linking efforts to try to
:19:33. > :19:37.fight Isis in Libya. How easy is it for the UK Government to get help
:19:38. > :19:43.from the government intra- bully? It is going to be very difficult. He is
:19:44. > :19:53.supported by the international community but he has negligible
:19:54. > :19:58.presence intra- bully. It is mainly policed by right colours Islamist
:19:59. > :20:05.movements spread Islamic fighting group as part of. The fact that
:20:06. > :20:08.Libya is unstable makes it harder for the US intelligence operations
:20:09. > :20:19.to communicate with intelligence operations in Libya.
:20:20. > :20:30.This is that Billy mosque where he and his family worshipped. You can
:20:31. > :20:34.see the family home is not far away. That home was raided on Tuesday.
:20:35. > :20:45.This statement was made by the mosque on Wednesday. Some media
:20:46. > :20:51.reports have reported that the bomber worked at the Manchester is
:20:52. > :21:01.Linux centre. Some media group ports have reported this. This is not
:21:02. > :21:06.true. I assure everyone, listeners, viewers in the UK, around the UK,
:21:07. > :21:22.this bomber has never worked in the centre. Thank you for attending a
:21:23. > :21:28.sling. Did Salman Abedi three here? He did attend this mosque. That was
:21:29. > :21:34.John Sweeney asking the question. We know that Salman Abedi at his family
:21:35. > :21:40.were regular attendees at this mosque. A BBC reporter got into the
:21:41. > :21:49.mosque yesterday, the only journalist to do so. I wanted to go
:21:50. > :21:54.inside and pray but I was stopped, by the police, you are a journalist,
:21:55. > :22:02.you are not allowed then. I explained I need to pray. We argued
:22:03. > :22:05.for about her 15 minutes, the mosque administration got involved and I
:22:06. > :22:12.said to him this is my right, it is the mosque. I was allowed in but
:22:13. > :22:22.with a very strict conditions, number one was that I would not be
:22:23. > :22:27.allowed to pray behind the rest of the worshippers so I was asked to
:22:28. > :22:33.pray in a separate corner, I was not allowed to go left-to-right, I was
:22:34. > :22:39.banned from speaking to any worshippers and the third condition
:22:40. > :22:43.was I was not to load my phone, taking pictures. I accepted all of
:22:44. > :22:48.these conditions which were really strange to me and never happen to me
:22:49. > :22:53.in any other mosque. You were not able to convert with any of the
:22:54. > :23:02.people inside? I was unable to speak to them, unable to find out what
:23:03. > :23:06.happened. It was one of those kind of mosques which was really
:23:07. > :23:15.organised and it seemed very well controlled. Most of the
:23:16. > :23:24.administration people belong to Arabic Muslim community and when the
:23:25. > :23:29.player finished when the Imam normally praise afterwards,
:23:30. > :23:36.collective prayers, but after the players finished the Imam announced
:23:37. > :23:42.that nobody, no worshippers, are allowed to speak to the media or
:23:43. > :23:45.talk about the attack. It sounds like inside and outside this mosque
:23:46. > :23:56.is feeling an extraordinary amount of pressure. Yes. Of course. It
:23:57. > :24:02.became centre of attention within seconds. At the same time they had
:24:03. > :24:10.the opportunity to open up to the media and address the questions that
:24:11. > :24:12.has been raised by the press or by the people. Yesterday in the press
:24:13. > :24:19.statement they said Salman Abedi did statement they said Salman Abedi did
:24:20. > :24:26.not work here. OK, but people want to know whether those reports that
:24:27. > :24:33.his younger brother was teaching the Koran in the same mosque and his
:24:34. > :24:41.father was well known to worshippers as well, they did not deny any of
:24:42. > :24:51.those reports. People wanted to know. This mosque in particular have
:24:52. > :24:56.lost an opportunity to explain how things work and what Islam and
:24:57. > :25:07.Muslims are about. We will see you next week.
