:00:00. > :00:08.Hello, I'm Ros Atkins, and this is Outside Source.
:00:09. > :00:20.Blink and you'll miss it at the White House.
:00:21. > :00:28.The New York Times is reporting that the president has fired Anthony
:00:29. > :00:32.Scaramucci, his new director of indications who was only hard ten
:00:33. > :00:38.days ago. The Islamic State group has launched an -- on the Iraqi
:00:39. > :00:47.embassy on Kabul. We will look at the -- and where it leaves America's
:00:48. > :00:53.position in Afghanistan. This is Venezuela, the fallout from the
:00:54. > :01:00.weekend's election which was to elect a constituent to the assembly.
:01:01. > :01:04.Here is the president. With the hurricane example you have set
:01:05. > :01:10.today, more than 8 million votes by the sovereign people of Venezuela.
:01:11. > :01:15.We will also talk about Apple getting caught up in an argument
:01:16. > :01:23.around censorship in China. It is polled various VPNs, facilities that
:01:24. > :01:47.help people get around censorship in China. We will explain that as well.
:01:48. > :01:50.Things are moving at speed in Washington, DC.
:01:51. > :01:52.In the past hour the White House confirmed Anthony Scaramucci
:01:53. > :01:54.will leave role as White House communications director
:01:55. > :01:58.to give chief of staff John Kelly a "Clean Slate".
:01:59. > :02:09.Bear in mind he hasn't officially started the job. That was slated to
:02:10. > :02:17.happen in August. This was the first we've heard of this story in the New
:02:18. > :02:23.York Times. All this means we are paying very close attention to this
:02:24. > :02:29.feed coming in from Washington, and this is where Sarah Huckerby
:02:30. > :02:36.Sanders, the White House spokesperson will be. Here she is.
:02:37. > :02:42.Let's listen to what she has to say. Good afternoon, everyone. I would
:02:43. > :02:50.like to bring out a national security adviser and Treasury
:02:51. > :03:01.Secretary to discuss their response to Nicolas Maduro's regimes actions
:03:02. > :03:09.in Venezuela. As always, your favourite time of day, I will come
:03:10. > :03:17.back and take your questions. I thought it might be best to read the
:03:18. > :03:21.President's statement. The Trump administration has called on
:03:22. > :03:25.Venezuela to respect... We will keep an eye on that but the person we
:03:26. > :03:31.really want to hear from is Sarah Sanders, not speaking yet so as soon
:03:32. > :03:37.as she does we will turn to that. Let's bring in Barbara Platt Usher,
:03:38. > :03:41.live from Washington. I guess if we have learnt anything from the
:03:42. > :03:46.statement from the White House, it is that when Mr Apple was hired, Mr
:03:47. > :03:53.Trump didn't intend to get rid of his previous chief of staff. Either
:03:54. > :03:58.that or he didn't tend to get rid of him in the way it happened because
:03:59. > :04:05.Mr Trump has not said anything about the way Mr Scaramucci handled that.
:04:06. > :04:11.Mr Scaramucci was quite upfront and abrasive about that relationship and
:04:12. > :04:16.ultimately gave an interview to the New Yorker where he spoke about the
:04:17. > :04:22.former chief of staff, Reince Priebus, with very vulgar language
:04:23. > :04:29.full of profanities and that became the big story, ultimately leading to
:04:30. > :04:33.Reince Priebus's departure. We knew Mr Trump might have wanted him to
:04:34. > :04:43.depart anyway but perhaps not in that way. What we understand from
:04:44. > :04:49.some American media is that the new chief of staff, John Kelly, who is
:04:50. > :04:52.hoping to impose more discipline on the White House, so that may be one
:04:53. > :05:02.of the main factors in terms of white mistress Scaramucci is leaving
:05:03. > :05:05.now. Let's try to push the colourful characters to one side, what are the
:05:06. > :05:10.practical consequences of having this much chopping and changing
:05:11. > :05:18.within the President's working environment? The big answer to that,
:05:19. > :05:24.it means things cannot get done. You have the White House working with
:05:25. > :05:31.Congress to pass legislation and execute policy in agencies but the
:05:32. > :05:35.team in the White House, the staff and the National Security Council,
:05:36. > :05:39.are the ones who helped to push it forward and coordinate it and that
:05:40. > :05:44.needs some clear direction from the White House, it means everybody
:05:45. > :05:48.should be speaking from the same page and have a tour here in message
:05:49. > :05:56.and it needs a strong chief of staff. If the West Wing is riven by
:05:57. > :06:01.factional fighting and different ideologies and people who can speak
:06:02. > :06:04.their minds freely and wander into the oval office and tell the
:06:05. > :06:10.president what they think without going through a chain of command, it
:06:11. > :06:15.becomes difficult to do that and we saw last week the most chaotic
:06:16. > :06:20.example when that kind of infighting which had been widely reported not
:06:21. > :06:26.just between Anthony Scaramucci and Reince Priebus but between other
:06:27. > :06:31.factions, nursed out into the open. The story was broken by the New York
:06:32. > :06:37.Times. I want to pull off a tweet from a couple of hours ago, there
:06:38. > :06:41.are two types of nonfamily members entrance word, permanent and
:06:42. > :06:47.instruments. Sometimes instruments think they are permanent. There was
:06:48. > :06:53.no questioning Mr Scaramucci's commitment to Mr Trump yet it has
:06:54. > :06:58.come to nothing. It's interesting, we understand he was brought in
:06:59. > :07:03.because Mr Trump liked his style, he comes from the same rough-and-tumble
:07:04. > :07:09.New York culture that Mr Trump comes from, he called himself a front
:07:10. > :07:14.stabber rather than a backstabber and we were told Mr Trump believed
:07:15. > :07:18.he would do a better job than his then spokesman of defending him and
:07:19. > :07:24.promoting him and trying to get him good press and he liked that attack
:07:25. > :07:29.dog starts that Mr Scaramucci had, but it seems like Mr Scaramucci went
:07:30. > :07:34.too far. Mr Trump didn't say anything about his tie rate but
:07:35. > :07:39.sources were reported saying he wasn't happy to be associated with
:07:40. > :07:45.the vulgarity, but there is also speculation among reporters that he
:07:46. > :07:49.had an Icarus syndrome, flew too close to the son and his wings
:07:50. > :07:59.melted, he became the story rather than the President. You never want
:08:00. > :08:03.to do that. Barbara, keep us posted. We will turn back to Washington when
:08:04. > :08:04.the press briefing turns to Sarah Sanders.
:08:05. > :08:07.It was inevitable there would be fall-out from Venezuela's election.
:08:08. > :08:15.At stake was the make up of the constituent assembly.
:08:16. > :08:22.This body isn't a permanent body, it doesn't always exist within
:08:23. > :08:29.Venezuela but it does exist if changes to the Constitution are
:08:30. > :08:36.needed. Officials in Venezuela voter -- will tell you the turnout was
:08:37. > :08:44.over 42%, the opposition says 90% abstaining. We know voters were
:08:45. > :08:48.choosing members of a joint assembly, this assembly will look
:08:49. > :08:54.into the government's adding to the current constitution. Opposition
:08:55. > :08:59.groups fear this could mean Nicolas Maduro trying to extend his time as
:09:00. > :09:05.president and this is what we are seeing in Caracas, significant
:09:06. > :09:11.violence, ten people died and the presence of the authorities on the
:09:12. > :09:15.street was very visible. Nicolas Maduro was delighted, there he is
:09:16. > :09:20.celebrating with his supporters and we will look in a minute at his
:09:21. > :09:25.position but this is interesting, in the last few minutes we have heard
:09:26. > :09:30.the US Treasury Department would designate Nicolas Maduro for
:09:31. > :09:36.sanctions for undermining democracy. That is a congressional source
:09:37. > :09:41.talking to Reuters, saying the Treasury may look to target the
:09:42. > :09:47.president himself with sanctions. Let's talk to will ground, live in
:09:48. > :09:52.Caracas. If that report proves to be true, it's another piece of evidence
:09:53. > :09:58.of how Venezuela or its president is becoming a united front huge swathes
:09:59. > :10:04.of the international community. -- a united. The US said it would take
:10:05. > :10:11.swift and strong action in the wake of the vote and this would appear to
:10:12. > :10:16.be targeted action against top members of the administration, in
:10:17. > :10:22.this case Nicolas Maduro himself. They have already taken sanctions
:10:23. > :10:26.against 13 members of feathers ministration and the US Treasury
:10:27. > :10:32.Secretary described him as a dictator, saying yesterday's
:10:33. > :10:37.illegitimate elections confirm he is a dictator who disregards the will
:10:38. > :10:41.of the people, so they are not brokering any kind of dissent on
:10:42. > :10:45.this, they are clear this is a step towards dictator ship and they will
:10:46. > :10:50.be taking actions against him personally in terms of freezing his
:10:51. > :10:56.assets or any assets he has in the US. We should point out that America
:10:57. > :11:02.has a long history of interfering in democracies in Latin America and has
:11:03. > :11:07.not quite such a long history of opposing not just Nicolas Maduro but
:11:08. > :11:18.his predecessor, Hugo Chavez. Mr Chavez and US, and President Obama
:11:19. > :11:23.and George Bush Junior, were at loggerheads through his time in
:11:24. > :11:29.office, Washington has a long and bloody and shameful history in Latin
:11:30. > :11:37.America, the involvement of the CAA in and doing democratic elections
:11:38. > :11:43.from 1954 in court mother right through until Cuba, who has felt the
:11:44. > :11:52.brunt of Washington policies towards it over the decades. On this, I feel
:11:53. > :11:56.like the vast majority of Venezuelans are internally moving
:11:57. > :12:02.against the government now because they are tired of his policies they
:12:03. > :12:07.don't think they are working, they are experiencing long queues,
:12:08. > :12:14.rampant inflation, rising crime, he is no Hugo Chavis but that
:12:15. > :12:21.traditional supporters of travellers are also rejecting him. If I were
:12:22. > :12:25.with you in Caracas, would I be aware of the unrest or visit quite
:12:26. > :12:32.localised? You probably would. You have to be just around by motor bike
:12:33. > :12:37.a lot because barricades are set up on street corners, a lot of people
:12:38. > :12:45.are not going out so there is an eerie calm quite often. I lived in
:12:46. > :12:49.Caracas for several years and it is a choking, chaotic, traffic ridden
:12:50. > :12:54.city but not at the moment, you can barely see any cars and the country
:12:55. > :13:01.feels like it's in a strange limbo as everyone waits to see what the
:13:02. > :13:04.next step is. Well, thank you. We have also be live in Washington, but
:13:05. > :13:06.next we will stay here in London. The British Prime Minister's
:13:07. > :13:10.spokesperson has insisted that the free movement of people
:13:11. > :13:14.will end in March 2019 when the UK It follows days of public
:13:15. > :13:16.disagreement between cabinet ministers over what immigration
:13:17. > :13:33.rules will be after Brexit. Some viewers might think, I thought
:13:34. > :13:40.we knew where the government stood on this. This is a familiar refrain
:13:41. > :13:45.from the Prime Minister, reaffirming the position that free movement will
:13:46. > :13:50.come to an end in March 2019, but this is a central issue and has been
:13:51. > :13:54.central in the referendum and in recent weeks we have had Cabinet
:13:55. > :13:59.ministers putting competing views about what they would like to see in
:14:00. > :14:05.the immediate aftermath of Brexit, there is now a consensus there will
:14:06. > :14:09.be some interim arrangement, some are calling it a transitional deal
:14:10. > :14:15.and what exactly happens in this implementation period is what has
:14:16. > :14:20.been up for discussion, various ministers taking to the airwaves to
:14:21. > :14:24.present their ideas, Philip Hammond suggesting nothing will really
:14:25. > :14:30.change on the day we leave and new migration rules might take some time
:14:31. > :14:35.to come into force but Theresa May's spokesperson says free movement is
:14:36. > :14:40.coming to an end, according to the government in March 2019. In
:14:41. > :14:44.different circumstances if ministers behave like this they might get
:14:45. > :14:52.their marching orders but these are not normal circumstances. No, there
:14:53. > :14:55.has been signs of Cabinet in discipline, Theresa May have to
:14:56. > :15:01.chastise ministers for leaking details of meetings to the press and
:15:02. > :15:06.has had to reassert authority after days of squabbles from competing
:15:07. > :15:11.camps in the Cabinet, from readers and Remainer is debating in public
:15:12. > :15:16.about what they would like to see in terms of the deal, whether it would
:15:17. > :15:21.defy the result of the referendum, so Theresa May trying to stamp
:15:22. > :15:27.authority and cite this is what is happening but whether ministers will
:15:28. > :15:33.pay attention, there are many weeks to go while Parliament is on
:15:34. > :15:38.holiday. Thank you, Leila. In the few minutes we will turn to
:15:39. > :15:43.Afghanistan because there is been a suicide attack outside the Iraqi
:15:44. > :15:48.embassy in Kabul. The Islamic State group is aiming responsibility. We
:15:49. > :15:50.will look at the consequences but also the broader issues it raises of
:15:51. > :16:10.how to take on IS. The government wants to recruit
:16:11. > :16:16.another 21,000 mental health workers. The Royal College of
:16:17. > :16:20.Nursing has questioned whether enough new staff can be trained in
:16:21. > :16:27.time that Jeremy Hunt says he is confident. There are people who were
:16:28. > :16:32.trained in mental health and psychiatrists who are not currently
:16:33. > :16:37.in the NHS and we have a programme to attract them back and we want to
:16:38. > :16:41.say to them, we probably have the biggest expansion in mental health
:16:42. > :16:48.provision at Europe, we are proud of what you're doing but we still have
:16:49. > :16:51.too many people in this country, where a jungle life is blighted
:16:52. > :16:53.because we're not getting them the mental health care they need quickly
:16:54. > :17:10.enough. The New York Times is reporting
:17:11. > :17:17.that the president has fired Anthony Scaramucci, his new director of
:17:18. > :17:27.indications who was only hired ten On that subject, we can guess what
:17:28. > :17:34.questions the White House spokesperson might get asked. Let's
:17:35. > :17:39.listen. He does not have a role at this time in the Trump
:17:40. > :17:46.Administration, we put out a statement earlier announcing that
:17:47. > :17:49.and I don't have much else to say. Did General Kelly ask him to leave
:17:50. > :17:58.or did the president asked him to leave? Did he volunteer? I will not
:17:59. > :18:02.get into the process. What matters most to us is not who was employed
:18:03. > :18:08.in the White House but he was employed in the rest of the country,
:18:09. > :18:15.we are focused on the President's agenda of growing the economy and
:18:16. > :18:20.creating jobs. Was it a chain of command issue because Scaramucci
:18:21. > :18:24.said he had a direct line of communication to the President?
:18:25. > :18:28.There has been speculation that General Kelly may have tried to
:18:29. > :18:32.tighten up, so was it something about the chain of command or didn't
:18:33. > :18:38.have anything to do with the interview he gave last week? The
:18:39. > :18:43.president felt that Anthony's comments were inappropriate for a
:18:44. > :18:48.person in that position and he didn't want to burden General Kelly
:18:49. > :18:53.with that line of succession, as I think we have made clear over the
:18:54. > :18:58.course of the last few days, General Kelly has the full authority to
:18:59. > :19:03.operate within the White House and all staff report to him. When you
:19:04. > :19:09.say you didn't want to burden him with that line of succession, could
:19:10. > :19:14.you clarify one point about this chain of command, apparently Jarrod
:19:15. > :19:20.Kushner and Donald Trump said they look forward to following General
:19:21. > :19:24.Kelly's lead, will that conduit of people with access to the president
:19:25. > :19:29.been narrowed down or will everything flow through General
:19:30. > :19:37.Kelly? The president has given full authority to General Kelly. This
:19:38. > :19:42.statement about the White House says Mr Scaramucci felt it was best to
:19:43. > :19:46.give John Kelly a clean state to build his own team but you just said
:19:47. > :19:53.the president felt his comments were inappropriate. I don't see those as
:19:54. > :19:58.being mutually exclusive. Anthony once General Kelly to be able to
:19:59. > :20:03.operate with a clean slate grabbed the president felt his comments were
:20:04. > :20:07.inappropriate. With the new hierarchy with General Kelly, tell
:20:08. > :20:14.us what it looks like with this administration. General Kelly will
:20:15. > :20:19.bring a new structure to the White House and discipline and strength
:20:20. > :20:24.and we're all excited to work him and I will not draw a chart appear
:20:25. > :20:31.but we will keep you guys posted. Stephen Bannon, everyone reports to
:20:32. > :20:36.him rather than going to the press, does everyone go to General Kelly
:20:37. > :20:47.first? General Kelly has the full authority to carry out business. I
:20:48. > :20:51.have a real quick one regarding Sean Spicer, will he be in the
:20:52. > :20:56.administration in anyway now that Anthony Scaramucci will not be part
:20:57. > :21:05.of the administration? I'm not aware of any changes. Ten days ago Anthony
:21:06. > :21:08.Scaramucci was introduced as the new communications director and is now
:21:09. > :21:13.out of a job. The president announced there is no chaos at the
:21:14. > :21:20.White House. How would you describe what has happened over the past ten
:21:21. > :21:23.days? You agree with your boss the president there is no chaos but how
:21:24. > :21:32.would you explain that not to be the case? If you want to see chaos, come
:21:33. > :21:36.to my house with three preschoolers. Just to be clear, that is not an
:21:37. > :21:40.open invitation to my house but if you guys want to shed your
:21:41. > :21:50.baby-sitting time, I will be happy to work that out. Does the president
:21:51. > :21:56.regret hiring Anthony Scaramucci? I will not get into anything on that
:21:57. > :22:05.front. You said that Scaramucci felt so you are saying this was his
:22:06. > :22:09.decision. Was it? The president felt it was inappropriate, Anthony and
:22:10. > :22:16.General Kelly came to a mutual agreement and we are focusing on the
:22:17. > :22:21.jobs outside this building. Just to clarify because I want to make sure
:22:22. > :22:25.I understand the word he's here, he didn't want to burden General Kelly
:22:26. > :22:34.with that line of succession. The president. So it was the president
:22:35. > :22:41.deciding... We all serve at the pleasure of the president but this
:22:42. > :22:48.was a mutually agreed conversation. On Russia sanctions, did you know
:22:49. > :22:52.whether the president intends to sign the Russia sanctions bill and
:22:53. > :22:56.why hasn't the president taken the opportunities he has had today to
:22:57. > :23:08.say something in response to Vladimir Putin's retaliation with
:23:09. > :23:11.that 755. We put out a statement stating the President's intent to
:23:12. > :23:16.sign and we will let you know when that is going to take place. In
:23:17. > :23:24.terms of your second question, the follow-up? Why hasn't he taken the
:23:25. > :23:29.chance to say something to President Putin, it is striking the silence
:23:30. > :23:35.from the president with no response, he had a couple of chances to say
:23:36. > :23:39.something about it and didn't. We are reviewing our options and we
:23:40. > :23:46.have something to say on that, we will let you know. You said earlier
:23:47. > :23:52.all staff will report to the new chief of staff, does that include Mr
:23:53. > :23:58.Kushner and Mr Bannon? That includes everyone at the White House. Will
:23:59. > :24:04.the administration support the tax overhaul that comes out of the ways
:24:05. > :24:09.and Means committee. We pitted a joint statement with the big six, we
:24:10. > :24:15.will continue working with them and announce details. When Sean Spicer
:24:16. > :24:21.resigned it was for a clean slate, now that Scaramucci has resigned, it
:24:22. > :24:29.is also for a clean slate. Is the slate completely clean or should we
:24:30. > :24:39.expect any more shake-ups? Is the staff settled? They are. Is there
:24:40. > :24:42.any chance you will leave the job of communications director alone,
:24:43. > :24:50.having had two people leave rather abruptly? We will let you know when
:24:51. > :24:55.we have any personnel announcements. When the president made his speech
:24:56. > :25:01.to police on Friday, within minutes statements came from police chiefs
:25:02. > :25:07.across the country criticising his remarks that seem to endorse the use
:25:08. > :25:12.of force by police in search arrests. Was the president joking
:25:13. > :25:16.when he said this or did he checked his remarks with the International
:25:17. > :25:24.Association of police chiefs or the Attorney General? I believe he was
:25:25. > :25:28.making a joke. The statement says Anthony Scaramucci is no longer with
:25:29. > :25:37.the Administration, was he fired by the president or asked to resign? I
:25:38. > :25:40.will not get into any more. You said this was back and forth
:25:41. > :25:45.conversation, can you take us through what the president is

:48:49. > :48:52.the outskirts of Nairobi there was a press conference later and his boss,
:48:53. > :48:56.the chair of the electoral body said there was no doubt that he had been
:48:57. > :49:00.tortured port so that he had had one of his arms cut off. What is very
:49:01. > :49:05.chilling about this is that there was no attempt to pretend this was
:49:06. > :49:12.an accident or hide the fact that this was a cold-blooded murder. Is
:49:13. > :49:17.electronic voting are politically potent issue? It is, it goes back to
:49:18. > :49:19.2007 when we have a devastating result of the post-election violence
:49:20. > :49:28.one thing that came out of that was a commission which found that in
:49:29. > :49:31.order to stop things like ballot stuffing and double registration of
:49:32. > :49:34.voters and some of the fraudulent activities that went on it was
:49:35. > :49:39.important to have more technology put into the mix to stop some of
:49:40. > :49:43.those things. This white Kenya has been pushing electronic voting since
:49:44. > :49:49.then. This was a disaster when they last tried to use it? Unfortunately
:49:50. > :49:53.power cuts made it difficult. Even simple things like mobile phone that
:49:54. > :49:57.was posed to transmit results were not charged. It did not go quite
:49:58. > :50:00.well and ended up in the Supreme Court where it was eventually
:50:01. > :50:04.established who won the election. Sometimes when I told the Kenyans
:50:05. > :50:07.about their election they say why do is the international media always
:50:08. > :50:12.want more back to 2007 would there will be problems coming you should
:50:13. > :50:16.be more positive? I guess events like this play into the narrative
:50:17. > :50:21.that this is a tense affair. There was one saying we can go to witches
:50:22. > :50:29.it is not the one who counts but the one count the votes. I think that is
:50:30. > :50:32.something a lot of Kenyans are thinking about, can we trust the
:50:33. > :50:35.bodies and the botanic offices there has been a lot of things going on
:50:36. > :50:39.whether it is amending the law to make sure you can have a manual
:50:40. > :50:43.voting system as a back-up there are a lot of things that have gone on
:50:44. > :50:45.the Kenyans are not so sure. There was definitely left to their winning
:50:46. > :50:50.to look forward and Stratford peeps but there was also bit of webby this
:50:51. > :50:53.people think about what is the best way to get there. Peace must be had
:50:54. > :50:57.but just as as well. A row involving Apple -
:50:58. > :50:59.and about internet censorship. This is about virtual
:51:00. > :51:02.private networks, or VPNs - and Apple's decision to remove them
:51:03. > :51:06.from its App store in China. VPNs allow you to access online
:51:07. > :51:09.material by directing your internet It means users can then access
:51:10. > :51:20.censored or blocked websites - without giving away their real
:51:21. > :51:29.location. If you can't get to a website of
:51:30. > :51:34.your government is stopping you. You can access website because you are
:51:35. > :51:34.not giving weight your real location.
:51:35. > :51:37.Apple's removed 60 VPNs from its app store -
:51:38. > :51:39.that will make it much hard for Chinese users to get
:51:40. > :51:48.around China's tough restrictions on internet usage.
:51:49. > :51:56.VPNs are the way of life for a lot of internet uses in China. Anyone
:51:57. > :52:03.who wants to access the big sites that barred inside China, Facebook,
:52:04. > :52:06.Twitter, Google or a host of a new site about inside China will need a
:52:07. > :52:11.VPN in order to do that. Business people use them a lot in order to
:52:12. > :52:14.research products overseas or to market products overseas leaving
:52:15. > :52:22.just used things like Gmail, things are really common when doing
:52:23. > :52:25.business are lots of other places. The Chinese government is really
:52:26. > :52:31.cracking down on VPNs this year in particular because the political
:52:32. > :52:34.environment in China is quite tense at the moment, it the end of this
:52:35. > :52:38.year there was going to be a very important political conference in
:52:39. > :52:43.China with the next generation of Chinese leaders are expected to be
:52:44. > :52:46.unveiled. At the moment the Chinese government really is imposing even
:52:47. > :52:53.stricter centres and controls than it normally would. That is probably
:52:54. > :53:00.why Apple has finally given in to pressure to remove VPN apps from its
:53:01. > :53:07.App Store inside China. China is a really important market for Apple,
:53:08. > :53:12.it represents about 20% of all the companies's sales. It is also very
:53:13. > :53:17.important manufacturing base for Apple it gets a third company, Fox,,
:53:18. > :53:22.to manufacture many of its iPhones, iPods and other devices in militant
:53:23. > :53:28.China said the country is really important in maintaining good
:53:29. > :53:31.relations. -- in mainland China. We can see they value this relationship
:53:32. > :53:37.was over time Apple has been given to a lot of Chinese government laws
:53:38. > :53:40.and regulations on all sorts of things. For example start of the
:53:41. > :53:44.year Apple removed the New York Times at Comet Apple Store inside
:53:45. > :53:48.China, the New York Times is banned in China because of its reporting
:53:49. > :53:54.and now the New times app is longer available on the Apple App Store. It
:53:55. > :53:58.is also decided to allow or give in to the Chinese government's request
:53:59. > :54:03.to install data servers in the Chinese mainland. It is tried to
:54:04. > :54:06.reassure its government customers that it will keep data but many
:54:07. > :54:09.people think this will mean that Apple will hand over some of that
:54:10. > :54:15.data to the Chinese government when requested. Now we have Apple's
:54:16. > :54:23.announcement or its acknowledgement that VPN apps are also not on sale
:54:24. > :54:27.in the App Store so it just goes to underline this ongoing demand by the
:54:28. > :54:31.Chinese government for Apple to give in to certain laws and regulations
:54:32. > :54:32.and Apple says it simply is following the rules and regulations
:54:33. > :54:41.of the country in which it operates. Just the amount due in case you've
:54:42. > :54:47.been away from the television or your phone, Anthony Scaramucci the
:54:48. > :54:50.man who was going to reset the messaging coming out of the White
:54:51. > :54:56.House has been relieved of his duties ten days after he was offered
:54:57. > :54:57.them, he hadn't even formally taken up the job. I will see tomorrow,
:54:58. > :55:07.goodbye. Hello, this summer has delivered a
:55:08. > :55:15.huge variety of whether at times heart and others
:55:16. > :55:17.very wet. In the past couple of weeks you would be forgiven for
:55:18. > :55:18.feeling short-changed.
