:00:13. > :00:20.Welcome back. The main stories and around the world. In Turkey nearly
:00:21. > :00:30.500 people have gone on trial, accused of taking part in last
:00:31. > :00:32.year's failed coup. This shows a prominent Venezuelan opposition
:00:33. > :00:37.figure being taken from his home by intelligence officers. He is now in
:00:38. > :00:47.a Venezuelan military prison. That is after days of protests connected
:00:48. > :00:51.to anti-government sentiment. As we have been hearing, this is the
:00:52. > :00:54.man who has been picked as the new Pakistani Prime Minister but he only
:00:55. > :01:01.may hold the job for a couple of weeks. The grander plan is for
:01:02. > :01:05.Sharif's brother to take over. This woman travelled 6000 miles and
:01:06. > :01:10.spent $20,000 to freeze her eggs in the US. It is because she is not
:01:11. > :01:15.able to do so in China. We will have the full report.
:01:16. > :01:17.We'll hear from Usain Bolt, who is looking ahead to his final races as
:01:18. > :01:40.a professional athlete. Lots of ways you could have
:01:41. > :01:44.described Monday in the White House. Trump took to Twitter to tell us it
:01:45. > :01:49.was a great day. One way of putting it. Another is it was the day where
:01:50. > :01:52.the new director of communications left ten days after being hired,
:01:53. > :02:01.several days before he actually had taken up the job formally. The New
:02:02. > :02:08.York Post put it this way, drawing comparisons with the Survivor
:02:09. > :02:16.television programme. Making the general point that this perhaps is a
:02:17. > :02:19.chaotic situation. We can speak to a conservative political commentator
:02:20. > :02:29.from Dallas, host on the digital TV network The Blaze. Great to have you
:02:30. > :02:32.on the programme. Thank you for having me. When you look at what
:02:33. > :02:37.happened yesterday in the White House and over the last week, is
:02:38. > :02:43.that what you voted for? Difficult to say. Part of me wants to trust
:02:44. > :02:46.what Trump says over Twitter. When he said it was a great day in the
:02:47. > :02:50.White House. Part of me also once to commend him for getting Anthony
:02:51. > :03:01.Scurry -- part of me also would like to
:03:02. > :03:05.commend him for getting rid of the press secretary. Maybe they are
:03:06. > :03:10.putting things into shape. If they truly are draining the swamp then
:03:11. > :03:15.maybe this is a good thing. However, as somebody who voted for Trump it
:03:16. > :03:18.is difficult to see the rules shifting so much. It seems like
:03:19. > :03:21.there is so much insecurity in the White House. You wonder how much he
:03:22. > :03:27.will be able to fill his promises and that is what I am concerned
:03:28. > :03:35.with. What did you vote for? What did you want from this president.
:03:36. > :03:39.What I think a lot of millennials voted for Trump for, well, we are
:03:40. > :03:43.entrepreneurial. He has promised to cut taxes for small businesses. The
:03:44. > :03:50.corporate tax. He plans to do that. The concern for me and millennials
:03:51. > :03:56.is to advance our freedom and keep us safe. Those things he has proven
:03:57. > :04:00.to. Promising to cut taxes for small business. And taking the threat of
:04:01. > :04:04.Isis and Islamic terrorism seriously. He's done those things
:04:05. > :04:08.very well. Despite the drama, despite the Russian inclusion
:04:09. > :04:13.series, despite the fact the media has been out to get him, he has done
:04:14. > :04:18.those things well. Looking at the job statistics for the US, almost
:04:19. > :04:22.600,000 new jobs since he came into office. But in the last four months
:04:23. > :04:29.of the Obama administration there were nearly 700,000. Are you
:04:30. > :04:33.convinced the president is really making a huge difference? I am
:04:34. > :04:38.hopeful. The stock market is at an all-time high. Unemployment is also
:04:39. > :04:43.at a low. We must look at that. Consumer confidence is high. Oil
:04:44. > :04:49.prices are looking to stay low. Overall the Morales something which
:04:50. > :04:53.should be accounted for. -- overall the morale of Americans is
:04:54. > :04:58.something. In the first few months of Trump's presidency he's
:04:59. > :05:03.accomplished a lot. Not just numbers wise by adding hundreds of thousands
:05:04. > :05:07.of jobs, but also boosting our confidence and morale. Making it
:05:08. > :05:12.easier for us to start businesses and be entrepreneurs. That needs to
:05:13. > :05:19.be accounted for. Help me with one thing. I have watched plenty of The
:05:20. > :05:23.Blaze clips. It seems to be separate from the Republican party. Clearly
:05:24. > :05:29.Trump has a strained relationship with some part of the Republican
:05:30. > :05:37.party, as well. Are you and your viewers on The Blaze supporters of
:05:38. > :05:43.Trump, the Republicans, is there a distinction? There is a distinction.
:05:44. > :05:47.There are several different facets of Republicans. Thereafter several
:05:48. > :05:53.different facets of our viewers. Just like there are different facets
:05:54. > :05:56.of Democrats. Not all Trump supporters would call themselves
:05:57. > :05:59.conservatives. Not all conservatives would say they support Trump. We
:06:00. > :06:04.have a wide range of viewers and commentators. We feel free to either
:06:05. > :06:09.support Trump and pledge our allegiance that way. We also feel
:06:10. > :06:13.free to criticise Trump. For the most part we really just believe in
:06:14. > :06:16.defending the constitution and defending liberty. If Trump goes in
:06:17. > :06:22.that direction we commend him for it. If he doesn't we criticise him.
:06:23. > :06:33.Perhaps we could check in in a couple of months' time. Thank you.
:06:34. > :06:34.You can see her on The Blaze and other conservative online
:06:35. > :06:39.broadcasters. Now, sport, and the Olympics. We
:06:40. > :06:49.know which cities will host the next three summer Olympics. 2020 is
:06:50. > :07:01.Tokyo. 2024, Paris. 2028 it will be Los Angeles Clippers Paris and Los
:07:02. > :07:06.Angeles both wanted to post 2024. -- it will be Los Angeles.
:07:07. > :07:17.To host the Olympic Games is considered a privilege but it is an
:07:18. > :07:21.expensive one. Paris, the city of lights... Paris campaigned hard for
:07:22. > :07:26.the 2024 games. But this success has been helped by the number of cities
:07:27. > :07:30.that dropped out. One by one, Rome, Budapest, and Hamburg withdrew.
:07:31. > :07:40.Fearful of gusts and a lack of public support. -- fearful of costs
:07:41. > :07:44.and a lack of public support. Pitching to host the Olympics for a
:07:45. > :07:49.third time, LA wanted to bring the summer games back to the US the
:07:50. > :07:53.first time since 1996. With most of its infrastructure already built it
:07:54. > :07:58.boasted it could host the games tomorrow. But now they have
:07:59. > :08:03.confirmed they are to wait. In 2028 we are bringing the games back to
:08:04. > :08:07.LA. One of the great capitals of this Olympic movement. A city that
:08:08. > :08:15.has always been a games changer. And will be again in 2028. In exchange
:08:16. > :08:18.for its patients, LA will get a financial sweetener from the
:08:19. > :08:23.International Olympic Committee. Extra funding for an extended
:08:24. > :08:28.planning period. The only championship in terms of
:08:29. > :08:31.athletics which competes with it, the world athletics Championships,
:08:32. > :08:36.which are about to take place in London. Usain Bolt will be the start
:08:37. > :08:40.of the show as always. It is his last professional outing. He has
:08:41. > :08:44.been described as the greatest sprinter of all time by the
:08:45. > :08:50.International Olympic Committee. He has eight Olympic golds. He gave a
:08:51. > :08:56.press conference earlier. Because I never thought I could beat a world
:08:57. > :09:00.record. That was my dream. That was my main dream growing up. Throughout
:09:01. > :09:07.everything that was going on I always wanted to become a 200 metres
:09:08. > :09:10.Olympic champion. I remember after the first Olympics, they were saying
:09:11. > :09:15.I'm a legend, nobody has done that, and I said it is my first Olympics.
:09:16. > :09:22.This does not mean much. The second one was, like, you are a legend. I
:09:23. > :09:28.was, like, OK, cool. But now I have got my goal, I can say I am because
:09:29. > :09:31.I have proven myself. If I am here at the championships you know I am
:09:32. > :09:37.fully confident and ready to go. As long as I show up for the
:09:38. > :09:41.championships my coach is happy, I am happy, I am happy with my
:09:42. > :09:45.abilities. I know when I go out there I am ready to go. Fully
:09:46. > :09:52.confident. 100%. I won't be betting against him. More information on the
:09:53. > :09:56.BBC sport app. Serena Williams isn't playing tennis
:09:57. > :09:58.at the moment. She is pregnant. She tweeted that it is black women's
:09:59. > :10:09.equal payday on the 31st of July. She wrote a much longer article on
:10:10. > :10:13.the same issue. She detailed how black women have to work on average
:10:14. > :10:20.eight months longer to earn the same as male counterparts for one year.
:10:21. > :10:24.We can speak to our correspondent who has been covering this story.
:10:25. > :10:31.She is right, isn't she, black women earn less? Absolutely. The 31st of
:10:32. > :10:35.July was black women's equal payday. That was on Monday in the US. It
:10:36. > :10:39.took black women nearly an extra eight months to earn as much as
:10:40. > :10:44.white males in 2016. Unbelievable. Given her position in the world in
:10:45. > :10:55.not just sport, but across society, what she has achieved, she feels she

:11:18. > :11:21.In a few minutes we must turn back to Venezuela. Two Venezuelan
:11:22. > :11:25.opposition figures have been rearrested. They were already under
:11:26. > :11:29.house arrest. They have been taken to a military jail. This is in the
:11:30. > :11:31.aftermath of Sunday's controversial election. All the latest on a
:11:32. > :11:46.situation changing by the hour. 60 people have died in the UK in the
:11:47. > :11:50.past eight months after taking the painkiller fentanyl. It is 50 times
:11:51. > :11:55.more potent than heroin. It is linked to the death of the singer
:11:56. > :11:56.Prince. Two thirds of the known deaths have been in Yorkshire,
:11:57. > :12:04.Humberside, and Cleveland. The rock legend Prince died suddenly
:12:05. > :12:07.last year at the age of 57. Fans gathered near his home in
:12:08. > :12:09.Minnesota where his body was found. A year on, medical examiners
:12:10. > :12:19.concluded his death was due to an accidental overdose
:12:20. > :12:24.of the drug Fentanyl. It was unclear where he had
:12:25. > :12:26.got it from and no one Fentanyl is a drug used
:12:27. > :12:37.to treat cancer patients. But now police in the UK are
:12:38. > :12:39.becoming concerned at its growing It is said to be 50 times more

:13:13. > :13:15.on heroin and other drugs, the lifestyle that they lead,
:13:16. > :13:17.nothing matters to them. Just getting away from the world
:13:18. > :13:22.for an hour or two. Fentanyl is so lethal that this

:14:35. > :14:35.of them have been marched into court while being heckled by government

:15:22. > :15:27.Apologies, I cannot bring you the images. This clip shows him being
:15:28. > :15:33.arrested, too. This has been posted on social media by his wife. You can

:15:48. > :15:52.military not far... I think this screen is playing me up. I wanted to
:15:53. > :15:55.show you Caracas, the capital of Venezuelan. We are told by the
:15:56. > :15:59.Supreme Court they have been arrested because they were planning
:16:00. > :16:03.to escape. No evidence has been offered to back up that claim. But
:16:04. > :16:11.what may well be relevant is this video. Posted online by Antonio
:16:12. > :16:17.Ledezma. He called Sunday's election a fraud. He accused the government
:16:18. > :16:24.of abusing public powers. That has not gone down well. He also urged
:16:25. > :16:28.people to take to the streets. I'm showing you these pictures time and
:16:29. > :16:31.time again over the last few months. Violent protests, violent clashes
:16:32. > :16:36.with the police. Just on election day on the day after at least ten
:16:37. > :16:41.people died in Venezuela. The vote on Sunday was for a constituent

:16:54. > :16:58.the country's Constitution. They disagree on just about everything to
:16:59. > :17:03.do with it. In the last few hours the US has called for the release of
:17:04. > :17:06.these two opposition leaders. Will Grant is in Caracas. This is the
:17:07. > :17:13.latest. It looks like it came from the top.
:17:14. > :17:16.You mentioned the various elements that were explained by the
:17:17. > :17:23.government as their reasoning as to why Antonio Ledezma and Leonardo
:17:24. > :17:29.Lopez were arrested. They were already under house arrest.
:17:30. > :17:33.Specifically for an alleged plan to flee. They both released videos
:17:34. > :17:37.around that disputed poll and boycotted election by the
:17:38. > :17:42.opposition. The government says just by issuing those videos that breaks
:17:43. > :17:45.the rules of their house arrest. Their lawyer has told the BBC and

:17:50. > :17:58.Is the opposition a coherent entity in Venezuela?
:17:59. > :18:03.In recent years it has been more coherent and unified than it was
:18:04. > :18:08.during Chavez's time in power. There was a loose amalgam of different
:18:09. > :18:13.parties. Now they've come under a single umbrella. The Round Table of
:18:14. > :18:20.Democratic unity. There are so many conflicting interests and ways of
:18:21. > :18:26.dealing with the current political and economic situation. Some think
:18:27. > :18:28.it should be more radical. Some think it should be done
:18:29. > :18:32.democratically. Some think they should be on the street. Some think
:18:33. > :18:35.they should be in the National Assembly. It's a difficult situation
:18:36. > :18:44.with different interests and clashes going on.
:18:45. > :18:47.This is clearly a hugely political act and provocative act. What has
:18:48. > :18:54.the reaction been? What have the consequences been?
:18:55. > :19:00.The consequences in terms of what people on the streets are is that,
:19:01. > :19:12.depending on who you speak to, in this particular neighbourhood this
:19:13. > :19:17.is where Lopez was Mayor. Antonio Ledezma Was Mayor of the entire
:19:18. > :19:22.city. If you speak to people here, they feel the consequences are very
:19:23. > :19:26.serious. That they are not far from somehow knocking the government out
:19:27. > :19:30.of power. Of course, if you speak to people on the government supported
:19:31. > :19:36.areas, the shantytowns in particular, they are very sure that
:19:37. > :19:40.this is somehow an attempt by the opposition to, sort of, strangle
:19:41. > :19:45.their Democratic movement. This is still such a conflicted nation. It
:19:46. > :19:49.just depends on who you speak to. Lots of people concerned about the
:19:50. > :19:54.idea of opposition figures being picked up in the middle of the night
:19:55. > :19:58.and being taken off to prison. I want to play with report about a
:19:59. > :20:03.woman who has travelled from China to the US to have her eggs frozen.
:20:04. > :20:08.This process is illegal in China for unmarried women. So many people seek

:20:14. > :20:18.31-year-old photography studio owner. She travelled from Beijing to
:20:19. > :23:22.Los Angeles as you will see in this report from BBC Chinese.
:23:23. > :23:34.A lovely report. That was made by BBC Chinese.
:23:35. > :23:37.I would like to turn back to a story from 30 minutes ago. We are getting
:23:38. > :23:44.more information about an attack in Afghanistan. In a city in the west
:23:45. > :23:46.of the country. Around 30 people have been killed by a suicide
:23:47. > :23:53.attacker. We understand there have been many injuries, as well. This is
:23:54. > :23:58.where the attack took place, inside a mosque. This explosion coincided
:23:59. > :24:01.with evening prayers at around 8pm. Officials are saying there are at
:24:02. > :24:07.least two attackers, the suicide bomber, and another attacker who
:24:08. > :24:12.shot at worshippers with a firearm. No groups have taken responsibility.
:24:13. > :24:27.It is in a Shia Muslim area. Nobody has claimed responsibility. I would
:24:28. > :24:31.like to bring in the -- -- bring in Sameera. I understand the iPad is
:24:32. > :24:37.back. It is back. It has done really well. Sales have been blockbuster.
:24:38. > :24:40.Apple has said you can expect something similar for the next three
:24:41. > :24:46.months when it revealed its new iPhone from the tenth anniversary.
:24:47. > :24:52.Short and sweet. We are out of time. Thanks very much. If you would like
