:00:30. > :00:41.the best stories from around the globe. In this week's programme,

:00:42. > :00:47.Iraq's forgotten people. Every day or two, men would come in and make

:00:48. > :00:51.us take off our headscarves though `` so they could choose which one of

:00:52. > :00:58.us they wanted. Many of them were raped. Will America's tunnels ever

:00:59. > :01:05.hit their targets? We visit Colorado, scene of one of

:01:06. > :01:17.the worst mass shootings in the US, to find little has changed. This is

:01:18. > :01:23.what sets next to my bed at night. And as the Lions of Afghanistan face

:01:24. > :01:27.the Lions of England, Dan Walker joins the Afghan National Football

:01:28. > :01:31.League team on tour. A small country and a big dream, a big achievement

:01:32. > :01:54.for us. Today, we came here and what England. They fled in their

:01:55. > :02:20.thousands. There is evidence the Yezeedi are having great used as a

:02:21. > :02:24.weapon of war against them. They know the full horrors of Islamic

:02:25. > :02:34.State. The worst fate was for those who fell into IS hands. This woman

:02:35. > :02:40.and her son tried to defend their village. The balls badly will time

:02:41. > :02:46.for others to escape. But they could not help their married daughter. She

:02:47. > :02:53.was held captive with other women and girls and she is haunted by what

:02:54. > :02:57.she went through. Every day or two, men would come in and make us take

:02:58. > :03:02.off our headscarves so they could choose which of us they wanted. Many

:03:03. > :03:07.were raped, they were dragged out of their house by their hair. We don't

:03:08. > :03:12.know what became of them. Now, the Yezidi up asking for support to

:03:13. > :03:17.bring back their missing loved ones. Families have drawn up lists of

:03:18. > :03:21.those those `` they are searching for. Human rights activists know of

:03:22. > :03:28.over 5000 men, women and children who were taken. This young woman was

:03:29. > :03:33.tortured and starved. She got away during air strikes targeting IS and

:03:34. > :03:41.walked for three days to find safety. They sell girls as young as

:03:42. > :03:45.nine, she says. Some men bought many at once. Two of my friends hanged

:03:46. > :03:52.themselves from the ceiling fans and one slit her wrists rather than be

:03:53. > :04:01.sold for sex. And that is too much for her lord to bear. But other two

:04:02. > :04:14.daughters still missing. They took all our girls. It is will care

:04:15. > :04:19.about. The world must help us. Islamic State fighters are trading

:04:20. > :04:22.in people. Young girls are treated as spoils of war and scattered

:04:23. > :04:29.across the region. Families here worried that if they are not found

:04:30. > :04:35.soon, they may never see them again. A study released this week by the

:04:36. > :04:39.FBI confirmed what many Americans know already, the number of people

:04:40. > :04:42.killed in mass shootings in the US has risen dramatically in recent

:04:43. > :04:46.years. The study was commissioned in the wake of the shootings at this

:04:47. > :04:51.and if a school in Connecticut and the Aurora Cinema in Colorado which

:04:52. > :04:56.prompted President Obama to call for tougher gun controls. Corrado has

:04:57. > :05:01.now imposed bans on some high`powered weapons but the law

:05:02. > :05:06.isn't being enforced by police and most voters don't care about the

:05:07. > :05:18.issue. This would be my go to gun if things

:05:19. > :05:22.got really bad. If we think that reducing the numbers of rounds in a

:05:23. > :05:29.magazine in a gun is going to change anything, we are fooling ourselves.

:05:30. > :05:35.He was watching a movie one second, the next second he was dead. The

:05:36. > :05:42.shooting was all over in 72 seconds. So, it makes a difference. People

:05:43. > :05:46.grew up with them. What would their father, their grandfather, those are

:05:47. > :05:52.good stories. I don't have a good story. I someone to the movies, like

:05:53. > :05:56.we always went on his birthday, and he didn't come out of the movie

:05:57. > :06:03.theatre because of the availability of the weapons that are out here.

:06:04. > :06:07.The changes after the mass shootings came last year. Colorado politicians

:06:08. > :06:19.passed a law banning the future sale of earning initial magazines of more

:06:20. > :06:24.than 15 rounds. I just grew up this way. I can have horses, I can shoot,

:06:25. > :06:29.I can let the dogs run out in the backyard. It gives me the freedom I

:06:30. > :06:34.like. As a law`abiding citizen, I should be able to have as many

:06:35. > :06:39.rounds as it takes. This is what's it specs to my bed and mud for self

:06:40. > :06:43.defence. It doesn't seem like anyone is going to come over these hills

:06:44. > :06:50.and jump in your house for you to have to use this gum. Possibly not.

:06:51. > :06:56.If somebody did come to harm me, I am 30 minutes away from police

:06:57. > :07:00.response. Criminals end up with weapons and so I think a member of

:07:01. > :07:06.the public should have at least the same ability to protect themselves.

:07:07. > :07:10.The county sheriffs of Colorado required and failed to overturn the

:07:11. > :07:13.law in court. They argued the law is impossible to enforce because so

:07:14. > :07:18.mini magazines are already in circulation. Worse, they can also be

:07:19. > :07:24.bought legally in neighbouring states. My deputies could pull over

:07:25. > :07:27.an individual in a car with a box of 100 of those magazines in the back

:07:28. > :07:32.seat but there is no way to prove they had them before like the first

:07:33. > :07:37.of 2013 or did they come up with them after. The reality is we have

:07:38. > :07:44.other things we have to do, and chasing after law`abiding gun owners

:07:45. > :07:47.really wasn't of `` of value. In the aftermath of Aurora, gun campaigners

:07:48. > :07:52.hope to Colorado would lead the way. It is now clear that the state's

:07:53. > :08:00.enduring love affair with guns is set to go on.

:08:01. > :08:03.It is a sign of Afghanistan's return to normality after decades of war

:08:04. > :08:08.that football fever has gripped the nation. The country now has its own

:08:09. > :08:13.Premier League which kicked off this year. And the Lions of Afghanistan,

:08:14. > :08:17.the national team, got a chance to meet and train with the English

:08:18. > :08:21.national side last week. Dan Walker went along to watch the Afghans on

:08:22. > :08:27.top. The Afghans, the literary prize,

:08:28. > :08:28.they are dead in future stick, and they love the game just as much as

:08:29. > :08:45.we do. We hope we can make it and do our

:08:46. > :09:02.best for Afghanistan. Now, 4500 miles west, the English

:09:03. > :09:09.and Afghan essays are reunited at St George 's Park. It is great to keep

:09:10. > :09:15.the promises and invite the Afghan FA. They look a bit starstruck with

:09:16. > :09:22.the England team and in such a great venue so it is great to welcome them

:09:23. > :09:31.into our own backyard. It is lovely to see them. How have things changed

:09:32. > :09:37.since we spoke in Camp Bastion? In all the areas in Afghanistan, even

:09:38. > :09:40.in areas where security is bad, kids are playing football. You are a

:09:41. > :09:48.great Manchester United fan, is ruining your favourite player? We

:09:49. > :09:53.are from a small country and it is a big dream, a big achievement for us

:09:54. > :10:02.and today, we sold the English team and especially Rooney. It is not

:10:03. > :10:05.easy to form an FA and former real structure in football and certainly,

:10:06. > :10:14.even harder in a place like Afghanistan. What we have seen so

:10:15. > :10:19.far in our trip, we learnt a lot and we can take a lot of ideas which

:10:20. > :10:26.also encourages us to do more for the development of football. It is a

:10:27. > :10:32.long, long road that they will be on but they certainly have the

:10:33. > :10:34.appetite, the infuse you some. What is the one thing you will remember

:10:35. > :10:39.and tell your friends and family about in Afghanistan? Everything is

:10:40. > :10:44.a dream come true. When will never forget. Wembley and today we are

:10:45. > :10:50.here. So, everything is unbelievable.

:10:51. > :10:56.Dan Walker with the Lions of Afghanistan there. That is all from

:10:57. > :11:15.us this week. Goodbye for now. Good evening. It has been settled

:11:16. > :11:18.September and as we approach the final few days, there has been

:11:19. > :11:19.little change in the
