:00:16. > :00:19.Welcome to Wednesday's Reporting Scotland. Tonight on your national

:00:19. > :00:22.news: There are calls to investigate whether former News of

:00:22. > :00:32.the World editor Andy Coulson lied during the Tommy Sheridan perjury

:00:32. > :00:33.

:00:33. > :00:38.trial. A senior MP says the verdict needs to be reconsidered. I think

:00:38. > :00:41.the Sheridan trial was unsound and may need revisited.

:00:41. > :00:45.The calls come amid fresh claims over phone hacking at the newspaper.

:00:45. > :00:48.Also coming up tonight: A man who stabbed a 21 year-old cleaner to

:00:48. > :00:57.death in a random attack is found not guilty of murder by reason of

:00:57. > :01:02.insanity. Welcome to the Moray Firth where

:01:02. > :01:06.the Scottish Open is due to start tomorrow. The rain is likely to

:01:06. > :01:10.ease off a bit. And Rangers land there man - Juan

:01:10. > :01:13.Manuel Ortiz becomes Alan McCoist's first new signing.

:01:13. > :01:16.Strathclyde Police will be asked to investigate whether the former News

:01:16. > :01:20.of the World editor Andy Coulson lied during the Tommy Sheridan

:01:20. > :01:22.perjury trial. In the witness box Mr Coulson denied he knew anything

:01:22. > :01:27.about payments to police officers by the newspaper. But new

:01:27. > :01:30.revelations questioned that statement. This afternoon a senior

:01:30. > :01:40.Labour MP told the Commons that he believed the trial had been unsound.

:01:40. > :01:45.

:01:45. > :01:50.Here is our correspondent, Raymond Buchanan. This was a December day

:01:50. > :01:54.when Tommy Sheridan summoned Andy Coulson to Glasgow's High Court. He

:01:54. > :01:59.was in Scotland to answer questions about his time as editor of the

:01:59. > :02:04.News of the World. He was asked if the News of the World paid corrupt

:02:04. > :02:09.police officers. Not to my knowledge was the reply. But now it

:02:09. > :02:13.has been reported that e-mail sit - - exist which suggests Mr Coulson

:02:13. > :02:19.of rows payments to police. This afternoon that this evidence was

:02:19. > :02:24.raised in the Commons. They are currently people serving prison

:02:24. > :02:29.sentences in this country, like Tommy Sheridan, that successful

:02:29. > :02:33.prosecution was based on evidence from Andy Coulson. Now it seems

:02:34. > :02:37.that the jury did not get all the emails pertinent to that case. If

:02:38. > :02:42.that is the case, surely the appropriate authorities should

:02:42. > :02:48.revisit this case and ask Mr Coulson whether this invitation --

:02:48. > :02:53.this information was withheld deliberately. I think the Sheridan

:02:53. > :02:58.trial was unsound and may need revisited. Tommy Sheridan was

:02:58. > :03:02.convicted and sentenced to three years in prison. I have fought the

:03:02. > :03:07.power of News International all my political life and I make no

:03:07. > :03:10.apologies for taking on the might of Rupert Murdoch. Tomorrow Tommy

:03:10. > :03:15.Sheridan's lawyer will call for it Strathclyde Police to investigate

:03:15. > :03:20.whether Andy Coulson committed perjury. Mr Coulson has always

:03:20. > :03:25.denied he paid Police Board approved phones to be hacked.

:03:25. > :03:29.Raymond Buchanan is outside the High Court tonight. Art Tommy

:03:29. > :03:35.Sheridan's lawyers interested only in Mr Coulson or in questioning

:03:35. > :03:40.others as well? They are interested in questioning others as well. Tom

:03:40. > :03:44.Watson and his other lawyer, both of whom you saw in my report, will

:03:44. > :03:49.be in Glasgow tomorrow where they will hold a press conference at

:03:49. > :03:55.which they say they will release new information about the contact

:03:55. > :03:59.of other News International executives, including the chief

:03:59. > :04:02.executive - Rebekah Brooks. She has been under significant pressure in

:04:02. > :04:07.recent days since it was revealed that the newspaper had hacked into

:04:07. > :04:10.the telephone of the murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler. Lots of

:04:10. > :04:14.questions about phone hacking scandal and lots of questions for

:04:14. > :04:21.those who would like to see the paper punished. We will find out

:04:21. > :04:24.more tomorrow. Many thanks, Raymond. There will be more on that story

:04:24. > :04:27.tonight on the Newsnight Scotland tonight.

:04:27. > :04:30.It was a random, unprovoked and frenzied attack on the young

:04:30. > :04:32.cleaner as he made his way between jobs in the centre of Glasgow. 21

:04:32. > :04:35.year-old Michael Davis was stabbed to death by nineteen-year-old

:04:35. > :04:38.Tianhui Zhan, a paranoid schizophrenic who has come to

:04:38. > :04:48.Glasgow from Canada because he said voices had told him to. Today

:04:48. > :04:52.Tianhui Zhan was found not guilty by reason of insanity. He will be

:04:52. > :04:58.held at a maximum security psychiatric unit. Tianhui Zhan,

:04:58. > :05:03.captured on CCTV pictures, buying a knife from the lake and store in

:05:03. > :05:08.the Canning galleries. It was just days before he used it to kill this

:05:08. > :05:13.man... His 21-year-old victim was chosen completely at random.

:05:13. > :05:18.Tianhui Zhan told a psychiatrist he started seeing blood over the faces

:05:18. > :05:23.of people and was convinced they were zombies. Michael Davis was

:05:23. > :05:29.walking along West Campbell Street in the city centre. He had left one

:05:29. > :05:33.cleaning job and was on the way to another, he was on his mobile phone,

:05:33. > :05:39.minding his own business. He was completely innocent. Tianhui Zhan

:05:39. > :05:43.attacked him with the knife, stabbing him three-time. Michael

:05:43. > :05:49.Davis's and cradled her nephew in her arms. He died the next day in

:05:49. > :05:53.hospital. Tianhui Zhan carried out the attack after flying from his

:05:53. > :05:59.home in Canada and flying to Scotland after hearing voices.

:05:59. > :06:03.After stabbing Michael Davis he fled to Amsterdam. Today a jury

:06:03. > :06:07.found him not guilty of murder by reason of insanity - a verdict

:06:07. > :06:12.which has upset his family. I would not like to see another family

:06:12. > :06:21.going through what happened to us. It would be a hard thing to see

:06:21. > :06:26.anybody going through this. Especially, you boy just walking to

:06:26. > :06:34.one job from another. Then something happens. It has destroyed

:06:34. > :06:41.the family. It is hard to say that the court has let us down. This guy

:06:41. > :06:46.should have been put away for life. To me is not insane. Everything was

:06:47. > :06:53.all about him, all about 10, saying zombies and doing this and that, at

:06:53. > :06:58.total rubbish. 19-year-old Tianhui Zhan is receiving treatment at the

:06:58. > :07:02.hospital in Carstairs for paranoid schizophrenia. It is likely he will

:07:02. > :07:06.never be released. You're watching Reporting Scotland.

:07:06. > :07:09.Still to come before seven: The royal visitor - the Queen is in

:07:09. > :07:12.Larbert to open the new Forth Valley Royal Hospital. And head

:07:12. > :07:18.over heels in - we speak to Scotland's first freestyle and ski

:07:18. > :07:21.snowboard teams. In sport - we hear from the Rangers

:07:21. > :07:28.manager Alan McCoist on who he has signed and two he still hopes to

:07:28. > :07:36.sign. And an outbreak of Murray mania - but the world No. Four has

:07:36. > :07:39.some harsh words for some of his critics. All that to come.

:07:39. > :07:42.The Prime Minister has paid tribute to a young Scots soldier who was

:07:42. > :07:44.found dead with gunshot wounds 17 hours after he disappeared from his

:07:44. > :07:47.base in Afghanistan. An investigation has been launched

:07:47. > :07:56.into why 20 year-old Scott McLaren of the Royal Regiment of Scotland

:07:56. > :08:01.left a Nato checkpoint in Helmand sparking a major search operation.

:08:01. > :08:04.Highlander Scott McLaren was on the 20 years old. 12 weeks ago he was

:08:04. > :08:10.sent to serve in Afghanistan but, early on Monday morning he

:08:10. > :08:15.disappeared on his own from a NATO checkpoint in Helmand, sparking a

:08:15. > :08:19.17 hour search. He was found dead with gunshot wounds. Today the

:08:19. > :08:24.Prime Minister led the tributes. This week I witnessed at first hand

:08:24. > :08:27.the sacrifice of our soldiers. I pay tribute to their bravery and

:08:27. > :08:32.dedication of this particular soldier who was lost in such tragic

:08:32. > :08:37.circumstances. It is unclear how he was killed and why he left his post

:08:37. > :08:41.alone. One report said he left to go swimming with Afghan soldiers

:08:41. > :08:47.but the Ministry of Defence says this is speculation. Our

:08:47. > :08:52.correspondent in Kabul says new information is coming forward.

:08:52. > :08:58.footage has emerged which shows him leaving the base. He was not under

:08:58. > :09:02.duress or pressure. He does not seem to be in a distressed state

:09:02. > :09:07.but there is confusion here as to why he took that action and a hat -

:09:07. > :09:14.- why it led to his death. Private Scott McLaren grew up here in the

:09:14. > :09:18.park Keddy area of the capital. He lived with his family. -- Park head

:09:18. > :09:22.area. The family are too upset to speak at the moment but they have

:09:22. > :09:28.issued a statement saying how proud they are of their dear son. They

:09:28. > :09:33.said he loved the Army. He made many friends in the army. Family

:09:33. > :09:37.and friends will always remember him. It is less than two years

:09:37. > :09:42.since he joined the Army. In that time colleagues said he had shown

:09:42. > :09:50.it true grit and determination. A full investigation is now being

:09:50. > :09:55.carried out to establish how and why he died.

:09:55. > :09:59.The Scottish Open gets underway tomorrow at the new Castle Stuart

:09:59. > :10:06.course in Inverness. Their event is expected to give their it Highland

:10:06. > :10:11.capital a major boost. Our reporter is there this evening.

:10:11. > :10:17.It doesn't read like a Who's Who of the top flight of golf. We have

:10:17. > :10:23.Luke Donald, Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy - all he get this new

:10:23. > :10:30.course. It is winning rave reviews. People locally have taken this

:10:30. > :10:36.event to their Hearts. You cannot go anywhere in Inverness without

:10:36. > :10:41.realising this is a special week. If you cannot play like it two-

:10:41. > :10:48.times champion Ernie Els, at least you can enjoy his wine - specially

:10:48. > :10:53.shipped 10. I would not expect to sell a lot of it. I will not be

:10:53. > :10:58.disappointed to be left with some. It represents value in that it is

:10:58. > :11:04.quite unique. They do not make a lot of it and it is not regularly

:11:04. > :11:09.seen. You were getting more than just a Gatt # Glass of wine. There

:11:10. > :11:14.has never been such an array of golfing talent. There were some

:11:14. > :11:20.raised eyebrows when the European Tour chose this course to host such

:11:20. > :11:25.a huge event. They were slightly concerned about the potential lack

:11:25. > :11:30.of spectators. That has been mitigated because advance ticket

:11:30. > :11:37.sales have been phenomenal. If the weather holds up, we could see some

:11:37. > :11:42.fantastic crowds. The whole area is getting behind this event. When the

:11:42. > :11:47.competition starts for real tomorrow, the organisers expect up

:11:48. > :11:52.to 25,000 spectators a day. This be enough for the local economy is

:11:52. > :11:59.estimated at several million pounds. There is a real buzz in Inverness.

:11:59. > :12:04.People are excited about it and everyone has got behind it. We have

:12:04. > :12:10.all the hotel owners, taxi drivers involved in this. There is real

:12:10. > :12:14.ownership which you would not get elsewhere. World No. 1 Luke Donald

:12:14. > :12:20.and the West would have already been in action in an event today. A

:12:20. > :12:24.curtain raiser of what promises to be fantastic golf.

:12:24. > :12:28.The good news is that the forecast is that the torrential rain of

:12:29. > :12:35.today should ease off. Earlier today Colin Montgomery admitted

:12:35. > :12:39.this was his last chance saloon in terms of getting a place at the

:12:39. > :12:44.Open in England next week. He is hoping for a top-five finish and

:12:44. > :12:51.there will be a big home supporters hoping that he makes it.

:12:51. > :12:58.Thank you very much. You can see what the top golfers think of the

:12:58. > :13:04.event later in sport today. New figures show the value of

:13:04. > :13:13.Scottish exports grew. They were up two. 2% on the same time last year.

:13:13. > :13:16.Metals and metal products show the The driver of a lorry killed in

:13:16. > :13:19.yesterday's accident on the M8 has been named as Hugh McKenna from

:13:19. > :13:22.Belshill. It is thought the 68- year-old became ill in the cab of

:13:22. > :13:24.his lorry, which crossed the central reservation near Harthill

:13:24. > :13:27.services and crashed into a car. A 33-year-old woman has been

:13:27. > :13:30.charged with wasting police time, after claims a syringe was found in

:13:30. > :13:34.baby food bought at an Asda store in Elgin. An investigation was

:13:34. > :13:38.launched after it was alleged the syringe was found in a jar bought

:13:38. > :13:41.in May. The Queen has officially opened the

:13:41. > :13:44.new Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert. Her Majesty and the Duke

:13:44. > :13:47.of Edinburgh toured the new building which is one of the most

:13:47. > :13:50.modern in Europe. The facility boasts the first robotic system in

:13:50. > :14:00.the UK to deliver supplies such as linen and food, and an automated

:14:00. > :14:01.

:14:01. > :14:07.robotic pharmacy. Aileen Clarke reports.

:14:07. > :14:12.There was much excitement about a very special hospital visitor today.

:14:12. > :14:16.The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh meets Bath and patients before

:14:16. > :14:19.performing the official opening ceremony. The Queen stopped off at

:14:19. > :14:27.the oncology unit is chat with those having chemotherapy and other

:14:27. > :14:32.cancer treatments. It's very nice. This is one treatment you would

:14:32. > :14:36.like to remember? Yes, I will remember this one. It is not just

:14:36. > :14:46.royalty popping in that patients appreciating. It is certainly more

:14:46. > :14:51.up-to-date. It is cleaner and more efficient. The treatment is a bit

:14:51. > :14:55.quicker but it is just so lovely, it is pleasant. That is perhaps

:14:55. > :14:59.partly because staff had an input into the design of the building.

:14:59. > :15:05.When we moved to Larbert, there is more petition the areas and that

:15:05. > :15:11.has created more privacy for patients, and it creates a sense of

:15:11. > :15:16.Cammack even when the unit is quite busy and active. The hospital was

:15:16. > :15:20.pioneering the use of robots to deliver food and living around the

:15:20. > :15:24.wards, and the automated pharmacy is running too. There has been a

:15:24. > :15:30.lot of talk about all the robot sat there used in this hospital, but

:15:30. > :15:35.they are simpler ideas too. This light is inside the glass, much

:15:35. > :15:39.easier to keep clean. This may be one of Europe's modern hospitals,

:15:39. > :15:46.but the royal party were shown how old-fashioned exercise as an

:15:46. > :15:50.important part to play. The Duke of Edinburgh may take some convincing.

:15:50. > :15:53.How would you feel if everything you wrote down at work was being

:15:53. > :15:57.analysed to gauge your emotional state of mind? A Scottish company

:15:57. > :16:00.has developed software which does just that. It's attracting interest

:16:00. > :16:09.from big business who want to know how happy and motivated their staff

:16:09. > :16:13.are. Our health correspondent Eleanor Bradford reports.

:16:13. > :16:17.Many of us spend a lot of our time at work writing, but how would you

:16:17. > :16:22.feel if what you're writing was being analysed, to see how happy

:16:22. > :16:27.you are? That is what this financial company debt, to find out

:16:27. > :16:33.some basic facts about the mood of its staff. What people like about

:16:33. > :16:43.the business, what they liked about working here. What they felt we

:16:43. > :16:47.

:16:47. > :16:52.could do to make it a better place to work. Interest here, optimism,

:16:52. > :16:55.gratitude. Doing the analysis was a Scottish company. Its software can

:16:55. > :17:01.quickly pick out the emotions in our e-mails, messages and even

:17:01. > :17:05.tweets. The technology trawls over all the words they say and then

:17:05. > :17:14.looks at the emotions behind them, but also says, if their emotional

:17:14. > :17:19.about something, what is it? As a new a staff member it is

:17:19. > :17:24.interesting to see. I came from a company before and my mood it was

:17:24. > :17:30.like that slide there, the worst company to be wet. This definitely

:17:30. > :17:34.has to be the best company I have been with. Maintaining happiness

:17:34. > :17:37.and well this is big business. is a really good example of a

:17:37. > :17:41.company that has developed over the last few years and has grown

:17:41. > :17:45.through a recession. This is something that companies are

:17:45. > :17:49.catching on to, and in Scottish Enterprise in particular we want

:17:49. > :17:56.companies to be on the leading edge of the new Industry, and new

:17:56. > :17:59.markets. It is not just offices that are using this technology. The

:17:59. > :18:04.military has shown potential in it for monitoring the mood of

:18:04. > :18:10.potential terrorists. Health services are looking for it to be

:18:10. > :18:13.used with mental health services. A man who wears his heart on his

:18:13. > :18:17.sleeve: David Currie has the sport. The Rangers manager Ally McCoist

:18:17. > :18:21.has made his first new signing for the club and says he expects more

:18:21. > :18:23.new arrivals at Ibrox in the coming weeks. Spanish Midfield player Juan

:18:23. > :18:33.Manuel Ortiz joined the Premier League champions just in the nick

:18:33. > :18:34.

:18:34. > :18:40.of time to join them on their pre- season tour of Germany. And I do

:18:40. > :18:42.mean just a minute of time. We will ensure if Juan Manuel Ortiz

:18:42. > :18:49.with a sign for Rangers intend to make their pre-season trip to

:18:49. > :18:53.Germany. Our Cameron spotted him tried to keep a low profile. But to

:18:53. > :19:03.no of Vail, a Rangers media officer was lacking ready to cajole him

:19:03. > :19:10.into a photo opportunity. That is about the extent of his English.

:19:10. > :19:14.Luckily, his new manager has plenty to say. We're delighted, there were

:19:14. > :19:18.one or two hiccups along the road. Done and dusted, we are all pleased.

:19:18. > :19:23.Tell us about the Blair, what attracted you to him? The fact he

:19:23. > :19:27.can play a number of positions was a big thing. He runs Steven

:19:27. > :19:30.Whittaker Close, I am not sure if he can play left-back, but he can

:19:30. > :19:36.play a few possessions. He has played a number of games at the top

:19:36. > :19:43.level. McCoist revealed he still wants to sign David Goodwillie,

:19:43. > :19:47.despite having a 1 million offer turned down. I haven't given up.

:19:47. > :19:52.cash windfall of close to 1 million is heading the way of their

:19:52. > :19:56.Premier League champions, thanks to a clause in former Rangers player

:19:56. > :20:01.Charlie Adam's transferred to Liverpool. Could that be used to

:20:01. > :20:03.fund an improved offer for David Goodwillie? Something for Ally

:20:03. > :20:06.McCoist are considered during the trip to Germany.

:20:06. > :20:09.Andy Murray says he will not be taking advice from former British

:20:09. > :20:11.tennis players because he works harder than they ever did. The

:20:11. > :20:15.world number four was visiting tennis courts Paisley today ahead

:20:15. > :20:25.of his Davis Cup matches this weekend and after a bit of a scrum

:20:25. > :20:31.he hit back at his beard critics. Chris Mclaughlin reports.

:20:31. > :20:35.It was almost standing room only in Paisley this morning. Media, fans

:20:35. > :20:39.and even the police were caught in a muddy mayhem. Wimbledon may be

:20:39. > :20:45.over but the attention remains on the freshly shaven British No. 1,

:20:45. > :20:50.so what is his take from comments from former British player David

:20:50. > :20:55.Lloyd that is scruffier paeans may have affected his game. I am

:20:55. > :21:01.concentrating on working hard and not listening to what all the ex-

:21:01. > :21:07.British Blairs have to say about my game, because they know no more

:21:07. > :21:11.about tennis, and I practise much harder than the dead. Andy Murray

:21:11. > :21:16.is now a global superstar and used to the attention, but Paisley seems

:21:16. > :21:19.a little unprepared. It has been absolutely phenomenal. I could not

:21:19. > :21:24.believe how many people turned out because it was pouring with rain

:21:24. > :21:30.for most of the morning. Luckily, the rain stopped and the reception

:21:30. > :21:37.for the team has been incredible. What a be made of the Paisley

:21:37. > :21:43.welcomed? Unbelievable. Have you been surprised by the mayhem?

:21:43. > :21:49.surprised by just how many people are here. Did he expect so many

:21:49. > :21:53.people today? I don't think so. What did you make a money mania?

:21:53. > :21:59.It's fantastic. I can't believe he came to Paisley. The thing one day

:21:59. > :22:05.you may be as good as an? Yes. I still like him even if he didn't

:22:05. > :22:08.win the big Cup. No big Cup yet, but the crowds continue to follow,

:22:08. > :22:11.whether clean-shaven or not. As you may have seen earlier some

:22:12. > :22:15.of the best golfers in the world are in Inverness for the Scottish

:22:15. > :22:18.Open at Castle Stuart. It is a new venue after 15 years at Loch Lomond.

:22:19. > :22:26.The tournament starts tomorrow but it seems it is a hit already with

:22:26. > :22:32.some really big hitters. I've always felt that playing links golf

:22:32. > :22:38.and the lead-up to the it open is good. So I'm looking forward to

:22:38. > :22:41.getting that feel back. We're here head of Loch Lomond and it is

:22:41. > :22:44.amazing to think that we're not in the central belt of Scotland where

:22:44. > :22:51.the central belt is, so all credit to people for having the vision to

:22:51. > :22:54.bring it here. So please guarantee sunshine in

:22:54. > :22:57.Inverness tomorrow because I have thinking of going up.

:22:57. > :22:59.Now we're experiencing unseasonal weather so why not a story about an

:22:59. > :23:02.unseasonal sport? It has been announced that Scotland is to get

:23:02. > :23:12.its own freestyle ski and snowboard teams. But can we expect any

:23:12. > :23:12.

:23:13. > :23:22.international success? I'm 19 years old from Edinburgh and

:23:23. > :23:28.

:23:29. > :23:33.I'm ready to represent Great The inclusion this week a further

:23:33. > :23:36.freestyle events at the Winter Olympics in 2014 give Scottish

:23:36. > :23:44.prospects like Murray Buchan at target to help him rise to the top

:23:44. > :23:50.of the sport. He is already just outside the world's top 30, and he

:23:50. > :23:54.learned to ski and do tricks in Edinburgh. He says the trend of dry

:23:54. > :23:58.slopes across the country is transforming the sport. You can ski

:23:58. > :24:03.all year and that is exactly the same. The conditions are always the

:24:03. > :24:07.same. Since you get that from the dry slope, you can get more

:24:07. > :24:12.sponsors and get more support, which means you can then go out on

:24:12. > :24:15.to the snow. Once you're on the snow, it makes things much easier.

:24:15. > :24:20.The principle is simple. Training to complete at the top of Alpine

:24:20. > :24:28.skiing requires mountains and season-long snow. In three sell,

:24:28. > :24:33.you can learn to do this here. You can do it first in the city. The

:24:34. > :24:36.popularity of the style is growing fast. Snow sports Scotland has

:24:36. > :24:41.announced it is setting up Scottish freestyle ski and snowboarding

:24:41. > :24:44.teams for the first time. We're looking at increases the numbers

:24:44. > :24:48.year on year at the moment. What we're doing in response to that is

:24:48. > :24:52.we are also setting up a Scottish snowboarding and the cell team, so

:24:52. > :24:58.that athletes and people who want to compete at a high-level, can see

:24:58. > :25:02.there is a pathway in place. Membership of Scotland's first

:25:02. > :25:05.freestyle teams around into -- expected to be announced in a

:25:05. > :25:08.fortnight. Now much of the country has endured

:25:08. > :25:13.heavy rain throughout the day. This was the scene in Montrose late this

:25:13. > :25:16.afternoon where at least one property was underwater. A flood

:25:16. > :25:26.warning has been issued for parts of Arbroath this evening and a

:25:26. > :25:27.

:25:27. > :25:32.stretch of the River Isla in A wet day today, we saw almost 50

:25:32. > :25:37.mm in Tayside, as much as was expected for the entire month. If

:25:37. > :25:42.you miss the end today, you were lucky to say the least. The end was

:25:42. > :25:45.perhaps further north than expected but a fairly wet day. The brighter

:25:45. > :25:49.colour for the heaviest of the downpour making the right across

:25:49. > :25:54.the country. That band of rain are still with us this evening, so

:25:54. > :25:58.continuing rain at times particularly in the north. There is

:25:58. > :26:01.that rain band continuing to make its way up to a north-west. A

:26:01. > :26:08.little bit of sky in between but then more rain pitches in from the

:26:08. > :26:14.south. With all that rain and cloud, temperatures no lower than around

:26:14. > :26:17.10 Celsius. In one or two spots as Lisette Celsius. Tomorrow will be a

:26:17. > :26:23.day of heavy showers across most parts of the country. With those

:26:23. > :26:27.heavy showers, the risk of under his will. Around 4pm tomorrow,

:26:27. > :26:32.particularly in the south-west, wins will be quite light and

:26:32. > :26:38.showers persistent here. In between the shower clouds, some brighter

:26:38. > :26:44.spells of sunshine, but you're more likely to see some showers. The

:26:44. > :26:48.further north you are, some sunshine and the dire picture. If

:26:48. > :26:53.you are off to the golf at Castle Stuart, probably some showers

:26:53. > :26:57.around but generally died with temperatures up to 18 Celsius. The

:26:57. > :27:03.rest of the afternoon and into the evening, we are still holding the

:27:03. > :27:06.showery picture. Walking into the pressure charge, no pressure

:27:06. > :27:11.angered over the British Isles and to Thursday and Friday, continuing

:27:11. > :27:15.the unsettled theme. A bright start on Friday morning but then showers

:27:15. > :27:21.that to get under way into the afternoon. They will not be his

:27:22. > :27:28.heavies tomorrow. Expect a heavy shower over the weekend for T in

:27:28. > :27:31.the Park. It will be in improving picture over the weekend. This

:27:32. > :27:34.picture over the weekend. This weekend, sunshine and showers.

:27:34. > :27:37.Now, just before 7pm, a summary of tonight's top stories:

:27:38. > :27:40.There's to be a public inquiry into the News of the World phone hacking

:27:40. > :27:42.scandal, though it won't start until the police investigation is

:27:42. > :27:45.completed. More companies are also withdrawing advertising from the

:27:45. > :27:48.paper and it has emerged relatives of victims of the London bombings

:27:48. > :27:51.may have had their phones hacked. Meanwhile, Strathclyde Police are

:27:51. > :27:53.being asked to investigate whether the former News of the World editor

:27:53. > :27:56.Andy Coulson lied during last year's Tommy Sheridan perjury trial.
