:06:32. > :06:36.has not been seen since the middle of April. Her car was spotted in
:06:36. > :06:41.Ayrshire a week after she went missing and her mobile phone was
:06:41. > :06:48.found in a wheelie bin in June. Our reporter is in West Kilbride. What
:06:48. > :06:51.exactly is happening? What we have learnt is that a police
:06:51. > :06:56.investigation has been carried out in this street since Friday. As you
:06:56. > :07:03.can probably see, an incident unit has been set up. Across there There
:07:03. > :07:06.is a generator. Police officers are here in numbers. A fairly detailed
:07:06. > :07:10.forensic operation is being carried out on this property here, with
:07:10. > :07:17.lights out. There were uniformed police officers in the doorway a
:07:17. > :07:23.few moments ago and they have been coming and going over the course of
:07:23. > :07:28.the last hour also. We understand that Linda Spence did business in
:07:28. > :07:32.this part of Scotland. She lived in Glasgow but worked in part down
:07:32. > :07:37.here and she was a financial adviser, a mortgage provider, but
:07:37. > :07:42.when she disappear back in April, she owed money to several people.
:07:42. > :07:46.She told friends that. She told her family that she was going to London,
:07:46. > :07:51.but she never got there, and that is why police believe she has come
:07:51. > :07:54.to some harm. It did not stop her mother at that point in time
:07:54. > :07:59.issuing an emotional appeal for information about her daughter's
:07:59. > :08:05.disappearance. You have nothing to worry about whatever has happened.
:08:05. > :08:08.It can be sorted. We just need to know you are OK. Linda, it is
:08:08. > :08:12.Father's Day this Sunday, please let us know you are safe and well.
:08:12. > :08:18.If anyone has information that could help, please contact the
:08:18. > :08:22.police. So as you say, David, as Linda Spence did do business there,
:08:23. > :08:28.presumably that is why it is the focus of what has happened tonight?
:08:29. > :08:34.It is certainly the starting Kai Game. In addition, it is understood
:08:34. > :08:40.that she drove a silver Vauxhall car and in the weeks following her
:08:40. > :08:44.disappearance on or around April 13th, that car was seen in several
:08:44. > :08:49.locations in the North Ayrshire area. In addition to that, since
:08:49. > :08:53.then, a phone was handed in to the police. It was found in a wheelie
:08:53. > :08:57.bin outside a cafe in Kilbirnie, just a few miles from here. It
:08:58. > :09:03.turned out that was her phone. That would explain why this part of
:09:03. > :09:07.Scotland is the focus of this police investigation. Thank you.
:09:07. > :09:13.The children often have a love-hate relationship with their teachers.
:09:13. > :09:16.One little boy loved his so much he nominated her for the UK teacher of

:09:21. > :09:27.Christine Emerton beat thousands of other contenders to pick up the

:09:52. > :09:56.teepees and come across the problems that the Indians came
:09:56. > :10:00.across, like teams are not working together. They have learned all
:10:00. > :10:08.about the river and the Bison so they have lived as Indians and
:10:08. > :10:12.found it great fun. Sometimes in Spanish, sometimes in Scots,

:10:27. > :10:32.quibbles with that among pupils, staff and parents. She helps me.
:10:32. > :10:39.She makes learning really firm. does all the Fair Trading and helps

:10:46. > :10:55.said that. The children actually dance behind her at the disco. She
:10:55. > :10:59.is fantastic. They all love her. She has been phenomenal. It is not
:10:59. > :11:03.what the do, it is the way that you do it, and that is what gets
:11:03. > :11:13.results... Now officially Christine Emmett is the best teacher in the

:11:53. > :11:56.Charities and voluntary organisations in Scotland saw their
:11:56. > :12:00.income fall by nearly 100 million last year, according to new
:12:00. > :12:04.research. The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations says some
:12:04. > :12:11.groups are having to dip into their reserves to keep grips open. One
:12:11. > :12:15.reason is that councils are giving less to local groups.
:12:15. > :12:22.On Reporting Scotland we have told you how charities have faced the
:12:22. > :12:28.squeeze. Care partners in Ayrshire help look after children who need
:12:28. > :12:33.special attention. It lost most of its council funding and now it has
:12:33. > :12:37.closed down. And we told you how this group that provides transport
:12:37. > :12:43.for the elderly have worries, too. It now knows it will be getting
:12:43. > :12:47.less from the council next year. Research suggests these stories are
:12:47. > :12:51.widespread. We do not see a light at the end of the tunnel, or if we
:12:51. > :12:57.do, it is a train coming. I think many charities are facing real
:12:57. > :13:04.difficulties now. It is a tough world for them. They are expected
:13:04. > :13:11.to work harder with fewer resources. The company's research suggests
:13:11. > :13:16.four out of ten organisations had to kick the into their reserves.
:13:16. > :13:21.These are two sides of the same coin. Squeeze on public spending

:13:45. > :13:48.charities have been made locally by councils. Charities no money is

:13:55. > :13:57.how much cash they will get in the $$$NEWLINE Some of the other
:13:57. > :14:00.stories across Scotland this Monday. A murder investigation's underway
:14:00. > :14:04.in Glasgow following the death of a 41-year-old man. Kenneth Andrews
:14:04. > :14:07.was found by police in Dalmarnock Road in the east end of the city,

:14:11. > :14:14.The funeral of Thomas Sharkey, who was murdered in a house fire in
:14:14. > :14:16.Helensburgh, has taken place. He was killed with his two children,
:14:16. > :14:19.eight-year-old Bridget and 21-year- old Thomas Junior, when their house
:14:19. > :14:28.was deliberately set on fire in July. The only survivor of the fire

:14:30. > :14:33.The search is launched today for thousands of Scottish runners
:14:33. > :14:36.who'll help light up Arthur's Seat next year. Hundreds of runners in
:14:36. > :14:45.special suits will take part in Speed of Light, one of four
:14:45. > :14:49.projects commissioned in Scotland to celebrate the 2012 Olympic games.
:14:49. > :14:51.-- 2012 Commonwealth Games. Almost 70 per cent of girls aged
:14:51. > :14:56.between 11 and 12 get the recommended level of an hour's
:14:56. > :15:01.exercise every day. But by the time they reach 15, that's fallen to
:15:01. > :15:03.just over a third. For teen mums it's thought to be even lower. Our
:15:04. > :15:11.reporter Suzanne Allan went to visit a project in Paisley
:15:11. > :15:17.encouraging teenage mothers to get their running shoes on.
:15:17. > :15:23.Heart pounding, rapid breathing. This young mother is bucking the
:15:23. > :15:28.trend. She is 27 and started with this group when she had her first
:15:28. > :15:34.child. Like many girls, she hated to be at school so what put her
:15:34. > :15:38.off? Having to move my legs and sweat! With a face full of make-up,
:15:38. > :15:45.you don't want to do that. I did not want to run outside because I
:15:45. > :15:51.was embarrassed. Then the exercise bug bit before stop at first, it
:15:51. > :15:56.was quite scary. I wondered what I was getting myself into. You don't
:15:56. > :16:04.realise how much you are running, how long, so we realised we were
:16:04. > :16:11.doing well. 66 % of girls aged between 10 and 11 take the
:16:11. > :16:14.recommended amount of exercise. That falls to 35 % after at 14. If
:16:14. > :16:18.you are at a teenage mother, it is even lower.
:16:18. > :16:23.And that is what prompted this project. A lot of young women seem
:16:24. > :16:28.to lack confidence when it comes to activities. They might feel they
:16:28. > :16:33.don't enjoy it all it is not for them. Often they are not encouraged
:16:33. > :16:41.by their family to take part, or not found an activity that suits
:16:41. > :16:46.them. This is essentially a burning group,
:16:46. > :16:51.but it has become more than that: It is exercise, socialise and
:16:51. > :16:55.toddler group all in one. -- a running group. It is very much

:17:06. > :17:11.they feel vulnerable. They need encouragement and that is something
