0:00:13 > 0:00:15Welcome to Reporting Scotland. Tonight on your national news. BBC

0:00:15 > 0:00:25Scotland can reveal how this Glasgow couple were shot dead in

0:00:25 > 0:00:26

0:00:26 > 0:00:31Pakistan three weeks ago. The 4th when people into it the wife and

0:00:31 > 0:00:34his sister out of the car and the short term without saying anything.

0:00:34 > 0:00:36Pakistani police are investigating the theory it was an honour killing.

0:00:36 > 0:00:39We have an exclusive report. Later in the programme. Schools

0:00:39 > 0:00:48closed, operations postponed and courts disrupted - the potential

0:00:48 > 0:00:54impact on Scotland of next week's public sector strike.

0:00:54 > 0:00:58But this was undoubtedly a stupid act and it is deeply regretted by

0:00:58 > 0:01:00the conservative Union Association. An apology from the St Andrews

0:01:00 > 0:01:04University students who burnt an effigy of Barack Obama.

0:01:04 > 0:01:10And the puppets that are giving a sinister twist to one of the

0:01:10 > 0:01:13favourite Christmas stories. Good evening. A young couple from

0:01:13 > 0:01:18Glasgow have been murdered in Pakistan. Police are investigating

0:01:18 > 0:01:22the theory that it was an honour killing. Saif Rehman and his wife

0:01:22 > 0:01:32Uzma were on a shopping trip in Gujrat when their car was ambushed

0:01:32 > 0:01:32

0:01:32 > 0:01:36and they were shot and killed. This was at the wedding reception in

0:01:36 > 0:01:41Glasgow in February. Friends say they were happy and are ready to

0:01:41 > 0:01:45start a new life together. Three weeks ago, during a visit to

0:01:45 > 0:01:53Pakistan, the car they were travelling in was stopped by a

0:01:53 > 0:01:58group of men. The sister of Saif Rehman was also in the car. They

0:01:58 > 0:02:07were out shopping, they were going back home and of a sudden the car

0:02:07 > 0:02:12was stopped. A car stopped in front of them. They told the sister and

0:02:12 > 0:02:16his wife to get out of the car. As soon as he was out of the car they

0:02:16 > 0:02:24shot him without saying anything. No words were exchanged between the

0:02:24 > 0:02:30Saif Rehman and these people. was then told that Saif Rehman's

0:02:30 > 0:02:36wife was picked out from the passengers and driven off. Five

0:02:36 > 0:02:46minutes up the road, they killed her as well. She was not found

0:02:46 > 0:02:47

0:02:47 > 0:02:51until sometime later. She was found at the side of the road. Police in

0:02:51 > 0:02:56Pakistan are now questioning the driver of the car. Family and

0:02:56 > 0:03:02friends in Scotland just want to see justice for the couple. All we

0:03:02 > 0:03:07have left it is the desire to have justice for them. That should not

0:03:07 > 0:03:12happen to people. Although he lived in Glasgow for years, Saif Rehman

0:03:12 > 0:03:16was a Pakistani national and his wife was a US citizen so the

0:03:16 > 0:03:20British Foreign Office are not involved in this case. Tonight I

0:03:20 > 0:03:26spoke to the sister of the victim in the US and she says the family

0:03:26 > 0:03:34have no idea why they have been killed. Their friends here say they

0:03:34 > 0:03:42will keep trying to get answers. are still grieving. We're still

0:03:42 > 0:03:49grieving for him. I do not think it will ever pass. He made that impact

0:03:49 > 0:03:55on our lives, I do not think he will ever go away. We will not

0:03:55 > 0:04:00forget him. We will not forget him. Clearly, a lot of unanswered

0:04:00 > 0:04:04questions, what state is the investigation at? It is difficult

0:04:04 > 0:04:08to contact the police in Pakistan and find out what is happening. We

0:04:08 > 0:04:13have contacted the embassy and they are looking into it for us. Friends

0:04:13 > 0:04:17and family have been given an incident reports and an in contact

0:04:17 > 0:04:23with the police in Pakistan. They tell me that the driver of the car

0:04:23 > 0:04:28is being questioned. It appears that the couple were targeted and

0:04:28 > 0:04:33this is something the investigation will focus on. We understand that

0:04:33 > 0:04:37other passengers asked to identify themselves and were left and heart

0:04:37 > 0:04:42- this included Saif Rehman's sister and her young child. They

0:04:42 > 0:04:46had been on a shopping Chet -- trip, but none of that was taking so it

0:04:46 > 0:04:51is unlikely a robbery was the motive for this killing. Thank you

0:04:51 > 0:04:53very much. Luke Mitchell who was convicted of

0:04:53 > 0:04:57murdering his 14-year-old girlfriend Jodi Jones in 2003 has

0:04:57 > 0:05:00lost his attempt to get his conviction overturned. The UK

0:05:00 > 0:05:10Supreme Court has refused Mitchell permission to appeal his murder

0:05:10 > 0:05:10

0:05:10 > 0:05:13conviction to the court. Police officers have become the latest

0:05:13 > 0:05:16group to reject reform of their public sector pension scheme. They

0:05:17 > 0:05:22will not go on strike, but around a quarter of a million Scots will

0:05:22 > 0:05:24take part in a day of action, this time next week. It could see

0:05:24 > 0:05:33hospital operations cancelled and schools closed. Our correspondent

0:05:34 > 0:05:38David Henderson reports. Schools, hospitals, courts and councils will

0:05:38 > 0:05:46all face a huge disruption when staff walk out. This strike will

0:05:46 > 0:05:50have an impact if you can avoid. This woman runs the graphic design

0:05:50 > 0:05:55firm in Edinburgh. Her colleagues may be off work on strike day,

0:05:55 > 0:05:59looking after their children. only a small team, some of us have

0:05:59 > 0:06:05children and the chances are they will not be his school because of

0:06:05 > 0:06:09the strike. Some of my team will probably have to take the day off.

0:06:09 > 0:06:14So trekkers are angry about the UK's government plans to reform

0:06:14 > 0:06:18public sector pensions. Ministers say the current way of funding

0:06:18 > 0:06:24retirement is unsustainable. Their critics say they will have to work

0:06:24 > 0:06:28longer and pay more towards their own pensions. Today, rank and file

0:06:28 > 0:06:32police officers were the latest people to voice their opposition to

0:06:32 > 0:06:36these changes. They cannot go on strike, so they will be working

0:06:36 > 0:06:39next week whatever happens, but they're far from happy about

0:06:39 > 0:06:43proposals which have come from Westminster and not the Scottish

0:06:43 > 0:06:48government. They are funding of Scottish police pensions is

0:06:48 > 0:06:52entirely a matter for the Scottish government yet despite that the

0:06:52 > 0:06:59Westminster government has made it clear that if they do not pass on

0:06:59 > 0:07:04the pension cuts, they will reduce Scotland's budget accordingly. That

0:07:04 > 0:07:08is an affront to the role of the Scottish Parliament. I quarter of a

0:07:08 > 0:07:17million Scots may be out on strike. Some Crossgar staff will not be

0:07:17 > 0:07:19working. -- some crows -- some postcards staff. At airports,

0:07:19 > 0:07:26travellers have been warned to expect delays because border

0:07:26 > 0:07:29control officials will not be there. Clearly industrial action will be

0:07:30 > 0:07:33disruptive to services in Scotland. There will be indications for many

0:07:33 > 0:07:38of the public services which the public depend upon. The government

0:07:38 > 0:07:44will be working as effectively as we can to minimise any disruption

0:07:44 > 0:07:48that takes place to members of the public. Tonight transport officials

0:07:48 > 0:07:52said Glasgow's Underground would close on strike date so even those

0:07:52 > 0:07:57who want to work might find it a challenge.

0:07:57 > 0:08:02Still to come on Reporting Scotland: The success of the crime

0:08:02 > 0:08:07reduction scheme which uses ex- convicts to advise offenders.

0:08:07 > 0:08:10Their attitude shown by some councils to protecting confidential

0:08:10 > 0:08:17information is described as shocking relax.

0:08:17 > 0:08:23In sport - fancy Friday-night international action at Hampden?

0:08:23 > 0:08:28Scotland as a while the police. Celtic's new signing and also the

0:08:28 > 0:08:32man who could be a new manager at Thames.

0:08:32 > 0:08:38St Andrew's Conservatives stay in association is to write to

0:08:38 > 0:08:46President of, to offer a personal apology for an incident which

0:08:46 > 0:08:49happened on the beach. This beach at St Andrews - more used by dog-

0:08:49 > 0:08:53walkers and political protesters. Last Friday night there was a

0:08:53 > 0:08:57meeting of his in Andrew's Conservative students' association

0:08:57 > 0:09:02on the speech. There was a bonfire and at some point an effigy of

0:09:02 > 0:09:07Barack Obama at ended up on that bonfire. Once ginger was present at

0:09:07 > 0:09:11the meeting said they were very surprised by what had happened. --

0:09:11 > 0:09:17won it student. There is a large contingent of American students at

0:09:17 > 0:09:23St Andrews and only a few of them wanted to stay -- to speak about

0:09:23 > 0:09:28the incident. I think it was just a very dumb, and thought through cent.

0:09:28 > 0:09:33They did not mean anything large buy it. We do have think they feel

0:09:33 > 0:09:37that way about the United States. group of students were at the

0:09:37 > 0:09:44Scottish Parliament today. This in association has been quick to

0:09:44 > 0:09:51condemn the actions of a few. think it is ill-timed and very

0:09:51 > 0:09:57insensitive, especially coming from a group which has a reputation of

0:09:57 > 0:10:00hanging political figures. Effigy burning is seen by some as

0:10:00 > 0:10:04legitimate political protest and over the years Conservative

0:10:04 > 0:10:09students at St Andrews have set fire to the political figures of

0:10:09 > 0:10:16Gordon Brown and Nelson Mandela. Their choice of Barack Obama has

0:10:16 > 0:10:22offended many. Tonight, a promise that such a thing will not happen

0:10:22 > 0:10:25again at St Andrews. The United States and President Obama are key

0:10:25 > 0:10:30allies to be United Kingdom and an they have of the whole association

0:10:30 > 0:10:34I apologise unreservedly. I also apologise for any damage which was

0:10:34 > 0:10:42done to the reputation of St Andrews or the Conservative Party.

0:10:42 > 0:10:45The authorities here will hope that is an end to the matter.

0:10:45 > 0:10:51Historic Scotland says it will not display the Olympic rings on the

0:10:51 > 0:10:55ramparts of Edinburgh cost -- Edinburgh Castle. Plans were

0:10:55 > 0:11:00launched last week to promote the Olympics but Historic Scotland says

0:11:00 > 0:11:04it would not be suitable to place below go there. The Organisation

0:11:04 > 0:11:08says it fully supports the games and hopes another site can be found

0:11:08 > 0:11:10in Edinburgh. A scheme credited with reducing

0:11:10 > 0:11:12reoffending among prisoners sentenced to short terms, has

0:11:12 > 0:11:15received a cash grant from the Scottish Government.

0:11:15 > 0:11:19A quarter of a million pounds - money seized under proceeds of

0:11:19 > 0:11:21crime legislation - is being given to the Routes out of Prison project.

0:11:21 > 0:11:24It uses ex-offenders to provide advice and support for those about

0:11:24 > 0:11:34to leave jail. Our home affairs correspondent, Reevel Alderson

0:11:34 > 0:11:35

0:11:35 > 0:11:38reports. There is a revolving door at the largest deal in Scotland.

0:11:38 > 0:11:41This man works for a Glasgow charity which operates with

0:11:41 > 0:11:48prisoners coming to the end of their sentences with the aim of

0:11:48 > 0:11:52making sure they do not come back. Charlie heads a group of coaches

0:11:52 > 0:11:57who had done time themselves. They know the problems prisoners face

0:11:57 > 0:12:03and how to avoid them. When I get away from here, I will make an

0:12:03 > 0:12:13appointment for you with Alcoholics Anonymous. This man is grateful for

0:12:13 > 0:12:16

0:12:16 > 0:12:23their help. The drink it is just something I do. You want to stop

0:12:23 > 0:12:27that? Yes, definitely. Prisons like Barlinnie are overcrowded and

0:12:27 > 0:12:34vastly expensive. Research has shown the scheme reduces

0:12:34 > 0:12:39reoffending by 20 %. We can spend 80,000 of tax money to put people

0:12:39 > 0:12:44into prison when they have we offended. That is someone who has

0:12:44 > 0:12:49re offended within two years of leaving. Four 2,000 our project

0:12:49 > 0:12:54can peak -- and keep people out of prison for a year. They Justice

0:12:54 > 0:13:00Secretary was in Glasgow to listen to the stories. He has announced a

0:13:00 > 0:13:04grant of a quarter of a million times. They have to have a

0:13:04 > 0:13:11willingness to transform their lives. They have to be helped along

0:13:11 > 0:13:14the way once they have made that decision. This helps those who want

0:13:14 > 0:13:19to change and provides a helping hand to break the cycle of

0:13:19 > 0:13:23reoffending. It is hoped the cash will reduce reoffending and help

0:13:23 > 0:13:27reduce the prison population. Some of the other stories across

0:13:27 > 0:13:30Scotland: five Scottish Youth hostels are to shut. The closures

0:13:30 > 0:13:34at Melrose, Kirk Yetholm and Broadmeadows will leave the borders

0:13:34 > 0:13:36without any hostel. Arden on Loch Lomondside and Canisbay in

0:13:36 > 0:13:42Caithness will also close. The Scottish Youth hostels Association

0:13:42 > 0:13:45says it has to make best use of scarce resources.

0:13:45 > 0:13:47A consortium led by the engineering company Babcock has won the

0:13:47 > 0:13:52contract to complete the decommissioning of the Dounreay

0:13:52 > 0:13:55nuclear plant. The 20 year contract is thought be worth just over 2

0:13:55 > 0:13:57billion and will take the Caithness plant into what is called an

0:13:57 > 0:14:02interim end state, when its landmark dome and other buildings

0:14:02 > 0:14:05will be removed. The second shortlisted design has

0:14:05 > 0:14:10been revealed in the competition to transform Aberdeen's Union Terrace

0:14:10 > 0:14:15Gardens. Granite Web will go head- to-head with another design called

0:14:15 > 0:14:18winter garden. A jury made up of local politicians and business

0:14:18 > 0:14:27people will choose which design will win the contest for the 140

0:14:27 > 0:14:29million project. They will announce Some councils are being accused of

0:14:29 > 0:14:34having a "shockingly lax attitude" towards protecting confidential

0:14:34 > 0:14:36information. Campaigners claim 132 local authorities across the UK

0:14:36 > 0:14:46have lost sensitive information, and they say Renfrewshire Council

0:14:46 > 0:14:47

0:14:47 > 0:14:51is one of the worst. Councils hold all kinds of

0:14:51 > 0:14:56sensitive and private information. Information about children,

0:14:56 > 0:15:00vulnerable adults. And about all sorts of people who've used some

0:15:00 > 0:15:03council services. But are they always being as careful as they

0:15:03 > 0:15:13should be? Well, a series of freedom of information requests by

0:15:13 > 0:15:16

0:15:16 > 0:15:19a campaigning group has revealed some worrying incidents.

0:15:19 > 0:15:23Asocial work file with information identifying seven people was left

0:15:23 > 0:15:27in a bag of waste and fell into the hands of a newspaper. In

0:15:27 > 0:15:31Aberdeenshire, a social worker feral form was blown away in the

0:15:32 > 0:15:37wind. In Glasgow, two computer memory sticks with information

0:15:37 > 0:15:40about people being helped by the social work department were lost.

0:15:40 > 0:15:44These cases all lead to disciplinary action. But the

0:15:44 > 0:15:49biggest number of reported incidents in Scotland was in

0:15:49 > 0:15:54Renfrewshire. Renfrewshire has maids at the top 10 offending a

0:15:54 > 0:16:00authorities and the country. Laptops and paper records are lost.

0:16:00 > 0:16:03They all potentially contained very personal and sensitive information.

0:16:03 > 0:16:05Now Renfrewshire Council says just 12 of the 41 cases it revealed

0:16:05 > 0:16:07involved personal data. Three of these involved children. The

0:16:07 > 0:16:10council also says sensitive information is now encrypted, so if

0:16:10 > 0:16:15a computer or a memory stick was lost it would be practically

0:16:15 > 0:16:20impossible for someone else to get hold of the information. Now all

0:16:20 > 0:16:22these incidents are both concerning and embarrassing for the councils.

0:16:22 > 0:16:28But it's worth remembering how the overall number of reported

0:16:28 > 0:16:31incidents is small. Still with so much concern about both privacy and

0:16:31 > 0:16:38the risk of identity theft - even one incident carries the risk of

0:16:38 > 0:16:42serious repercussions. 3 million is to be spent tackling

0:16:42 > 0:16:45the root causes of sectarianism in Scotland. The funding for a package

0:16:45 > 0:16:48of community and education projects has been announced by the Scottish

0:16:48 > 0:16:50Government. It comes after controversial plans to pass a new

0:16:50 > 0:16:55law banning offensive behaviour at football matches cleared another

0:16:55 > 0:16:58Parliamentary hurdle. The classical violinist Nicola

0:16:58 > 0:17:03Benedetti has received an honourary degree from the University of

0:17:03 > 0:17:05Edinburgh and has been made a Doctor of Music. She's already a

0:17:05 > 0:17:11patron of a scheme at the university which provides

0:17:11 > 0:17:15scholarships for postgraduate students in Italian Studies.

0:17:15 > 0:17:20And now the sport. It looks as though Scotland will

0:17:20 > 0:17:23soon be playing international matches on Friday nights at Hampden.

0:17:23 > 0:17:26Police have approved the staging of World Cup 2014 qualifying matches

0:17:26 > 0:17:30on Fridays. The fixtures for the qualifying campaign were agreed

0:17:30 > 0:17:40today in Brussels. Our senior football reporter is at the

0:17:40 > 0:17:43

0:17:43 > 0:17:46National stadium now. Strap yourself in for another

0:17:46 > 0:17:51Scottish World cub qualifying campaign. The campaign that will

0:17:51 > 0:17:55start here in the national stadium with a home double header. Games

0:17:55 > 0:18:01against Macedonia and Serbia in September. It will also Phoenicia

0:18:01 > 0:18:04against Croatia in October 2013. In the middle of all that come lobby

0:18:04 > 0:18:10have the prospect of Friday-night the ball, a prospect which will be

0:18:10 > 0:18:16good news for the SFA's. If they have always been very keen. The

0:18:16 > 0:18:19police are not so keen. They do not have the resources to fill that.

0:18:19 > 0:18:24But after a call from the Scottish Football Association, the green

0:18:24 > 0:18:27light has been given and we will have Friday-night the Pavia. That's

0:18:27 > 0:18:32have a look at those pictures. have a look at those pictures.

0:18:32 > 0:18:37There will be games against Wales and Belgium. That will be on Friday

0:18:37 > 0:18:4022nd March 2013. Belgium will be the visitors here on Friday the

0:18:41 > 0:18:43the visitors here on Friday the sixth of some temper 2013.

0:18:43 > 0:18:49Strathclyde Police will be doing their bit to help Scotland qualify

0:18:49 > 0:18:54for Brazil 2014. For a full run- down of all the fixtures, you can

0:18:54 > 0:18:57check out the BBC website. The Irish club Bohemians have given

0:18:57 > 0:19:00Hibernian permission to speak to their manager Pat Fenlon. The Hibs

0:19:00 > 0:19:04managerial job has been vacant since the sacking of Colin

0:19:04 > 0:19:08Calderwood. Fenlon is the bookies favourite to takeover at the Leith

0:19:08 > 0:19:11side. Celtic have signed the Swedish

0:19:11 > 0:19:14international defender Mikael Lustig. The 24-year-old right back,

0:19:14 > 0:19:17who can also play at centreback, has signed a pre-contract agreement

0:19:17 > 0:19:23and will arrive at Celtic in January from the Norwegian club

0:19:23 > 0:19:26Rosenberg on a three and a half year deal. Meanwhile, Celtic are at

0:19:59 > 0:20:02The Saint Mirren manager Danny Lennon says he was flattered to be

0:20:02 > 0:20:05linked with the vacant post at Hibs but is delighted to have signed a

0:20:05 > 0:20:08new contract with his current employers. Lennon has agreed to

0:20:08 > 0:20:11stay with the Buddies till the summer of 2014. Under Lennon, the

0:20:11 > 0:20:20club have risen top fifth in the Premier League table but his

0:20:20 > 0:20:24ambition doesn't stop there. Mirren's rise has been one of the

0:20:24 > 0:20:29stories of the Scottish Premier League season. Let's try and get to

0:20:29 > 0:20:34know him better. Here is his football philosophies. I like to

0:20:34 > 0:20:37see the game played in a beautiful manor. I like to see players have

0:20:37 > 0:20:42belief in themselves in the same way I believe in them. That is

0:20:42 > 0:20:49coming across. With these key ingredients and the passion and

0:20:49 > 0:20:56hunger the boys are showing, there are no magic ingredients. What

0:20:56 > 0:21:02about your ambitions? How far can you take Sindh Miron? I am planning

0:21:02 > 0:21:08to take this club as far as it can go. Not just at first-team level.

0:21:08 > 0:21:13But also bringing three young talent. There is one thing about

0:21:13 > 0:21:18thyself - I am very hard working. That is one thing I like to see in

0:21:18 > 0:21:27my team. You're always referring to yourself in the third person. Who

0:21:27 > 0:21:34did you pick that up from? remember someone speaking to me

0:21:34 > 0:21:44last season about that. The punter actually said that he did his head

0:21:44 > 0:21:44

0:21:44 > 0:21:47in. I think I am just doing it to annoy him.

0:21:47 > 0:21:51The National Theatre of Scotland is staging its first ever Christmas

0:21:51 > 0:21:55Show later this month. Actors have had to learn the art of

0:21:55 > 0:21:59puppeteering, since most of the cast are life sized puppets. And

0:21:59 > 0:22:09they warn their sinister tale is not for small children or the faint

0:22:09 > 0:22:19

0:22:19 > 0:22:24hearted. Our arts correspondent reports.

0:22:24 > 0:22:27It is one of the best-known Christmas ghost stories. The

0:22:27 > 0:22:31redemption of Ebenezer Scrooge after a series of nightmarish

0:22:31 > 0:22:41vision. In this new production, it is poppets which bring those ghosts

0:22:41 > 0:22:46are life and scare the audience to death. Actors cannot float, try as

0:22:46 > 0:22:50they might. They cannot rip their head off and continue the

0:22:50 > 0:22:55conversation. Those are the kind of things Charles Dickens asks us to

0:22:55 > 0:23:02believe is going on. It seems to me that the obvious thing was to

0:23:02 > 0:23:07incorporate poppets into the story telling. For the actors, it has

0:23:07 > 0:23:13also been a challenge. They have had to learn Popat hearing from

0:23:13 > 0:23:20scratch and that sometimes means a line the pockets to steal the show.

0:23:20 > 0:23:25If it is engaging enough, the puppeteer literally just disappears.

0:23:25 > 0:23:32The puppets themselves are the creation of Gavin Glover. They're

0:23:32 > 0:23:39capable of melting even the hardest heart. They are not just for kids.

0:23:39 > 0:23:44There is a power there. Even for an adult audience, and there is some

0:23:44 > 0:23:47sort of invisible force and that people think, what is this thing?

0:23:47 > 0:23:56They can see the actor behind, but if they are buying into what is

0:23:56 > 0:24:04happening, they are transported. The test of they say will be the

0:24:04 > 0:24:11show itself. A Christmas tale, but And to accompany a Christmas carol,

0:24:11 > 0:24:16some Christmas weather. There is a lot going on over the

0:24:16 > 0:24:20next few days. We will start with tonight. There's a lot of rain

0:24:20 > 0:24:25around through the central belt. North of here, it will be dry and

0:24:25 > 0:24:31clear. You can see it on a map. On the those clear skies, quite a

0:24:31 > 0:24:34school start to their night. Further south, a milder. Through

0:24:34 > 0:24:41the early hours, a battering spreads North under temperatures

0:24:41 > 0:24:44recovered somewhat. On Thursday, we have been influenced by this area

0:24:44 > 0:24:50of low pressure and the Atlantic. You can see that weather front that

0:24:50 > 0:24:54is bringing the rain overnight. Tomorrow, but rain will move North.

0:24:54 > 0:24:57It will be an improving picture as we go through the morning towards

0:24:57 > 0:25:07lunchtime. The rain clears the way to the North and drier conditions

0:25:07 > 0:25:10

0:25:10 > 0:25:16followed., mid-afternoon, it will be a dry story and a cloudy story.

0:25:16 > 0:25:21Highs of 13 degrees. A windy afternoon. Some sunshine likely for

0:25:21 > 0:25:25at Aberdeen sure. There is that rain and the North. The main

0:25:25 > 0:25:30feature tomorrow will be the winds. Are associated with that rain,

0:25:30 > 0:25:35severe gales. As it makes its way inland from west to East, Gale

0:25:39 > 0:25:44ahead to to Friday, oblique and see that area of low pressure to the

0:25:44 > 0:25:49North. We're still being affected by it. The tight isobars mean the

0:25:49 > 0:25:53gale force winds back and play and colder air is being dragged down.

0:25:53 > 0:26:01Some of the shires are turning wintry over the hills. There are

0:26:01 > 0:26:07strong winds and it will feel bitterly cold on Friday. Into the

0:26:07 > 0:26:13weekend, it will stay very windy. It will be milder. Do not make this
