:01:02. > :01:05.MSP hits out at his intervention. And his rugby career was ended by a
:01:05. > :01:09.life threatening injury, now Thom Evans is back to relaunch himself
:01:09. > :01:11.as a sprinter. A man has gone on trial accused of
:01:11. > :01:14.the murder of Edinburgh woman Suzanne Pilley. David Gilroy is
:01:14. > :01:18.charged with killing the 38-year- old in May 2010. This afternoon,

:01:42. > :01:47.But she has never been found. Today, her former boyfriend David Gilroy
:01:47. > :01:50.went on trial for her murder. He is accused of murdering her in the
:01:50. > :01:54.Thistle Street office where she worked, or somewhere else, and
:01:55. > :02:03.tried to cover up her death. He is accused of trying to defeat the
:02:03. > :02:07.ends of justice. Prosecutors say he tried to disguise injuries to his
:02:07. > :02:11.hand and tried to convince police and his colleagues that he thought
:02:11. > :02:15.Suzanne Pilley was alive when he knew she was dead. He is also
:02:15. > :02:19.charged with assaulting his wife and his for the accused of
:02:19. > :02:23.threatening two children. The trial is expected to last around six

:02:50. > :02:53.awaiting a decision from the club's administrators on how many jobs
:02:53. > :02:56.will be lost there. The Ibrox club was declared insolvent last week
:02:56. > :02:59.after it failed to pay a multi- million pound tax bill. Our

:03:01. > :03:05.a week on and what are the adminstrators saying now?
:03:05. > :03:09.They say they are trying to get on with their job. They have spent the
:03:09. > :03:13.weekend at Ibrox going through the books, looking at the millions of
:03:13. > :03:17.pounds are generated by Rangers in recent years and trying to work out
:03:17. > :03:21.what assets are left. This is not easy, it takes time, but it is
:03:21. > :03:25.crucial because they have to identify the height of the Rangers
:03:25. > :03:28.a debt mountain. That will determine the health of the
:03:28. > :03:34.business and ultimately how many jobs will be lost at Rangers.
:03:34. > :03:38.Rangers currently have a 67 players on their books, they also have

:03:50. > :03:56.this, trying to sound upbeat about the future for them. The ad
:03:56. > :04:02.ministers have said that the cuts, people losing their jobs is not
:04:02. > :04:08.inevitable. It is a possibility, but not inevitable. That, in itself,
:04:08. > :04:13.I find encouraging. It gives us hope. What other key questions for
:04:13. > :04:19.the administrators? The most important question is

:04:29. > :04:30.
:04:30. > :04:37.Craig Whyte by selling off season- ticket? Money collected for taxes
:04:37. > :04:44.but not passed on to the taxman. There is more visibility according
:04:44. > :04:47.to the administrators about the 24 million. The administrators plan to
:04:47. > :04:54.publish some of the details over the course of the next few days. In

:05:38. > :05:41.Alex Salmond has backed plans for the controversial redevelopment of
:05:41. > :05:45.Aberdeen's city centre. He says he is very impressed with the City
:05:45. > :05:47.Garden project. But his comments have been attacked by one local MSP
:05:47. > :05:56.who says the wisdom of the First Minister's intervention is highly
:05:56. > :06:01.questionable. Colin Wight reports. The letters have started arriving
:06:01. > :06:05.at homes throughout Aberdeen. Residents have to decide whether
:06:05. > :06:11.they want a major change in the centre of the city. This is what is
:06:11. > :06:15.at stake, Union Terrace Gardens. This is what is on offer, a new
:06:15. > :06:21.city centre, the brainchild of a local businessman. Alex Salmond
:06:21. > :06:26.gave his view on the issue. As an MSP for Aberdeenshire, my view is
:06:26. > :06:30.that this project offers the possibility of a city centre in
:06:30. > :06:36.Aberdeen which would be the equal of any in Europe. It is a statement
:06:36. > :06:42.of confidence. But it is up to the people in Aberdeen. Alex Salmond

:06:49. > :06:54.parliamentary inquiry over his involvement in Donald Trump's golf
:06:54. > :06:59.development. I think the wisdom of his intervention is highly
:06:59. > :07:03.questionable. His constituency is out with the city. It will be for
:07:03. > :07:07.the Scottish government to decide whether the funding package goes
:07:07. > :07:12.ahead, but ministers have told us that they have not approved the
:07:12. > :07:20.business case or even at see it. He seems to have pre-empted at that
:07:20. > :07:25.decision. If someone asks me a question, I have the right to speak
:07:25. > :07:35.out as a constituency MP. But as a government minister, I would be
:07:35. > :07:36.

:07:54. > :07:58.How influential, or not, is this intervention?
:07:58. > :08:05.Who can say? Alex Salmond has made no major comment on this project
:08:05. > :08:10.until now. He has made his comments at a sensitive time, a time when
:08:10. > :08:18.the voters in Aberdeen are deciding where to put their cross in the
