:00:18. > :00:26.Welcome to Reporting Scotland. A Judy heels of the day that a

:00:26. > :00:31.suspect package was sent to for Mark MSP, Trish Godman. Detectives

:00:31. > :00:36.hunting a killer say this pensioner cut short a phone call after

:00:36. > :00:42.hearing a car pull into her driveway the day before she died.

:00:42. > :00:47.We report on the new brand being offered in the constitutional

:00:48. > :00:57.debate. And the unseasonally warm weather that has them stripping off

:00:58. > :00:59.

:00:59. > :01:06.a nap have been. -- stepping off and Aberdeen.

:01:06. > :01:11.A court has heard that Neil Lennon and MS P Trish Godman were sent

:01:11. > :01:21.suspicious packages containing more than 40 meals. But the jury was

:01:21. > :01:23.

:01:23. > :01:30.told by a specialist police of so that the devices were not viable. -

:01:30. > :01:35.- 40 nails. This post man says that he was sorting his meal for his

:01:35. > :01:38.round when he noticed the Neil pointing out of a packet. He

:01:38. > :01:44.thought it was suspicious and to get outside where the police were

:01:44. > :01:48.called. This constable was one of the faster on the scene. She got a

:01:48. > :01:55.good look at what wasn't the one below. She told the court but the

:01:55. > :02:05.package contained a small bottle containing a milky colour liquid

:02:05. > :02:09.

:02:09. > :02:14.with a petrol smell. Inside was a quantity of males, -- nails and a

:02:14. > :02:21.face from a sports watch. A similar package arrived two days later at

:02:21. > :02:27.the constituency office of Trish Godman. Evelyn Campbell was her

:02:27. > :02:33.assistant. She explained that the package arrived after the MS P, who

:02:33. > :02:40.was stepping down, had warned a Celtic strip to Parliament as a

:02:40. > :02:45.charity bet. Specially trained police attended and reported that

:02:45. > :02:55.the devices were none of viable. There was no initiator of power

:02:55. > :03:01.

:03:01. > :03:06.source to to rid of the explosion. Late this afternoon the court heard

:03:06. > :03:11.from chief petty officer Lisa Yates, a bomb disposal experts. He tested

:03:11. > :03:16.the liquid from the bottle found in Trish Godman's package and said it

:03:16. > :03:19.tested positive for peroxide, which could be used as an explosive. He

:03:19. > :03:25.said the amount of liquid could have been enough to cause serious

:03:25. > :03:31.injury or death where the device viable. After it was a hoax, he

:03:31. > :03:37.claimed, it was a serious hoax. The accused to deny the charges against

:03:37. > :03:40.them. The Justice Secretary will make a

:03:40. > :03:44.statement in a wholly due to more on the Lockerbie case. It falls

:03:44. > :03:49.claims that the Government encouraged the bomb were to drop

:03:49. > :03:53.his appeal against conviction in exchange for compassionate release.

:03:53. > :03:59.The allegation is strongly denied by the Government and contained in

:03:59. > :04:02.a new biography about Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi.

:04:02. > :04:08.Police have revealed that the day end 80-year-old pensioner was

:04:08. > :04:11.murdered she cut short a phone call to a friend after hearing a vehicle

:04:11. > :04:21.and her drive. It is the last time anybody can be certain Jenny

:04:21. > :04:29.Methven was alive. Her body was found seven Arabs later.

:04:29. > :04:36.-- seven hours. She said to the core, I must go,

:04:36. > :04:41.there is a vehicle in my drive. We cannot be sure how she her bit of

:04:41. > :04:46.anything other than the fact that it was from 10:28pm according to

:04:46. > :04:51.her phone records. Did anybody see a vehicle? This is an excellent

:04:51. > :04:58.opportunity for me to get that crucial piece of information.

:04:58. > :05:02.What other lines of inquiry are police following?

:05:02. > :05:06.Detectives are very anxious to trace the occupants of two vehicles

:05:06. > :05:12.seen parked in the driveway of Jenny Methven's home last Monday

:05:12. > :05:18.afternoon, several hours after the phone call. They were parked nose

:05:18. > :05:23.to tail and seen by at least two people at 1:45pm in the afternoon.

:05:23. > :05:30.This is one of the biggest mark or investigations in Perth Show in

:05:30. > :05:36.recent years. 70 officers on the case. -- Perthshire. Hundreds of

:05:36. > :05:41.drivers have been stopped in the area in recent days for police to

:05:41. > :05:44.interview people in the hope of finding the crucial clue that will

:05:44. > :05:50.help find the killer. Jenny Methven was regarded very much as a pillar

:05:50. > :05:58.of this small community. You are watching Reporting Scotland.

:05:58. > :06:05.Still to come: Scottish Power announces 300 jobs but warns of a

:06:05. > :06:10.skills shortage. And 300 years of the world's oldest post office. And

:06:10. > :06:14.sport, Scotland go to Slovenia with one eye and World Cup qualification.

:06:14. > :06:19.Craig Levein told us why the game is so potent just before the squad

:06:19. > :06:26.left. And a combination of illness and a lack of match sharpness meant

:06:26. > :06:31.that Andy Murray is through but the job was anything but easy.

:06:31. > :06:36.A campaign has been launched to secure more power for the Scottish

:06:36. > :06:39.Parliament short of independence. The Devo Plus route would hold a

:06:39. > :06:45.route to raise the bulk of the money it spends whilst remaining

:06:45. > :06:53.part of the United Kingdom. We compared it to the other brands on

:06:53. > :07:01.the market. Milk. Full-fat or semi- skimmed? Decaffeinated coffee or

:07:01. > :07:05.double strength? Creamed rice or custard? OK, choosing shopping is

:07:05. > :07:10.not much like choosing the future of the country but an increasing

:07:10. > :07:16.number of constitutional options are now available. Politicians are

:07:16. > :07:21.trying to sell us everything from ending the union with England to

:07:21. > :07:31.transferring a little more power from Westminster to Holyrood.

:07:31. > :07:32.

:07:32. > :07:36.Independence is the SNP brand. The current formula is sometimes called

:07:36. > :07:44.Independence white because it retains the Queen as head of state

:07:44. > :07:48.and the pound as the currency. Other bands? Maximum pay volition.

:07:48. > :07:54.Tax powers for Holyrood and the main ingredients of independence

:07:54. > :08:04.except defence and foreign affairs. Now, and even a lighter alternative.

:08:04. > :08:05.

:08:06. > :08:10.Devo Plus would leave key taxes like VAT and National Insurance out.

:08:10. > :08:17.Supporters include the Liberal Democrats for Scottish Labour and

:08:18. > :08:22.Conservative who used to be the presiding officer in Holyrood.

:08:22. > :08:25.The general principle is raising the tax we propose to spend as a

:08:25. > :08:30.government. I have signed up to that personally embodied we always

:08:30. > :08:34.lacked that as an accountable parliament. Until we have that a

:08:34. > :08:39.similar we are not accountable to the electorate.

:08:39. > :08:47.This Labour MSP has joined the group but did not make the launch.

:08:47. > :08:51.However an adviser or listened and. People will know what the options

:08:51. > :08:54.are. They will certainly know what independence means but they should

:08:54. > :09:01.certainly you the positions of the other parties and of this campaign

:09:01. > :09:05.is a contribution to that explanation, I welcome it.

:09:05. > :09:08.Is there a concern that it will prove so popular that voters to

:09:08. > :09:16.claim independence when the time comes? Reporting Scotland,

:09:16. > :09:22.Edinburgh. A court has heard that the man

:09:22. > :09:28.accused of killing Suzanne Pilley told his boss she was blackmailing

:09:28. > :09:34.him. The boss of the company, IML, said he was not told how she was

:09:34. > :09:39.blackmailing him. He said it was part of an emotional meeting days

:09:39. > :09:43.after she disappeared. The trial continues.

:09:43. > :09:50.Scotland rugby Staff Max Evans has gone on trial accused of assaulting

:09:51. > :09:54.a man in a nightclub in 2010. He had been drinking in the nightclub

:09:54. > :10:00.when his sister and friend when a man struck him in the face with a

:10:00. > :10:04.glass. He says he acted in self defence.

:10:04. > :10:09.Scottish Power is creating 300 jobs to help upgrade the electricity

:10:09. > :10:17.network. One fog of the jobs of bad -- earmarked for graduates and

:10:17. > :10:22.apprentices. But there are fears of a skills shortage and two few young

:10:22. > :10:27.people -- too few young people wanting to become engineers.

:10:27. > :10:31.Scottish Power says that engineers can claim to the top of the career

:10:31. > :10:36.ladder. There is tough competition to win a coveted apprenticeship

:10:36. > :10:43.with the company. Sean Nick Bourne way and Stephen McMillan are sure

:10:43. > :10:49.that it is for them. It is a hands-on Kinnear. A

:10:49. > :10:56.different job of the year. And by will be working with my hands.

:10:56. > :11:01.My father is an electrician and that is why I am in this background.

:11:01. > :11:09.Encouragement today from the First Minister and company chairmen. Many

:11:09. > :11:14.worry that too few teenagers are keen on a career like this.

:11:14. > :11:17.It is important to learn about the economy, any kind of industry. To

:11:17. > :11:22.start working for a company like Scottish Power is a real

:11:22. > :11:27.opportunity. There are too few engineers and

:11:27. > :11:33.that is a challenge for the whole industry. Scottish Power was

:11:33. > :11:36.casting the net wide but there is a genuine skills gap looming. Across

:11:36. > :11:41.the industry for at five workers will have time over the next 15

:11:41. > :11:44.years. Where will their replacements come from? We have

:11:44. > :11:49.more than a per in addition has been trained at the moment.

:11:49. > :11:52.Something like 30,000, and a large proportion are in engineering. They

:11:52. > :11:58.will come through the system and make a significant contribution but

:11:58. > :12:02.we do need more. Graduates, design, electrical.

:12:02. > :12:07.You might not think it here but one problem is that not enough young

:12:07. > :12:13.people want to become engineers to begin with. That is a challenge for

:12:13. > :12:17.employers as well as schools, colleges, and universities.

:12:17. > :12:24.Rupert Murdoch has arrived in Scotland to talk to staff at his

:12:24. > :12:33.newspapers. He was challenged by the mother of Tommy Sheridan, who

:12:33. > :12:37.claims her phone was hacked. He A look now at what else has been

:12:37. > :12:42.happening across the country this Tuesday. The oil and gas industry

:12:42. > :12:46.says that there was a record fall in production last year. It won't

:12:46. > :12:53.help for the industry to be included in next week's UK budget.

:12:53. > :12:58.A doctor who spent four days travelling from our home to cover a

:12:58. > :13:03.3.5 hour shift on Jura. NHS Highlands said the scheduled locum

:13:03. > :13:07.was not available. We are attempting to work with local

:13:07. > :13:11.communities to try to attack to GPs to come and work in these

:13:11. > :13:15.communities. But as you can see from this situation, when things go

:13:15. > :13:21.wrong at short notice, we have to try to pull out the stops, and

:13:21. > :13:23.sometimes pay a premium for doing If a financial watchdog has warned

:13:23. > :13:27.there could be long-term risks to Aberdeen due to the way a

:13:27. > :13:31.redevelopment of Union Terrace Gardens will be funded. The

:13:31. > :13:35.council's leader insists any risks are low.

:13:35. > :13:38.A plan is expected to be announced to protect the status of the old

:13:38. > :13:43.and new towns of Edinburgh's World Heritage Site, reducing the impact

:13:43. > :13:47.of traffic, restoring historic monuments and renewing the sign age.

:13:47. > :13:50.The transport minister has been in the Borders today meeting

:13:50. > :13:56.campaigners who are calling for a reopening of the old railway

:13:56. > :14:00.station at Preston. The group says that by opening the station here

:14:00. > :14:06.and at least Limington, it will boost tourism and business.

:14:06. > :14:09.The UK's first bungee jump on a bike took place in Perthshire. Adam

:14:18. > :14:24.falling off a cliff in Louis. She was almost 26, double the age she'd

:14:24. > :14:32.usually reach. I actually have her photo as a screensaver on my

:14:32. > :14:39.computer. Happy memories. there's more on those and other

:14:39. > :14:42.On the face of it, the former Dumfriesshire mining town of

:14:42. > :14:46.Sanquhar doesn't have much in common with either the Swedish

:14:46. > :14:48.capital Stockholm or Santiago in Chile. But they're the locations of

:14:48. > :14:58.the three oldest post offices in the world - with Sanquhar,

:14:58. > :15:03.remarkably, the daddy of them all. Willie Johnston reports.

:15:03. > :15:08.300 this year. Sanquhar Post Office wasn't the country's first, but is

:15:08. > :15:11.the longest surviving. Originally a staging post for runners moving

:15:11. > :15:16.mail about on foot or horseback, these were stables to rest for

:15:16. > :15:22.horses, and back then, no post office shop. There was no counter

:15:22. > :15:29.as we know them today. Mail was delivered to the window of the Post

:15:30. > :15:36.Office, and she tapped on the window, handed in your mail, and

:15:36. > :15:42.that was the way it was done. is my father, and this is my

:15:42. > :15:46.brother Jimmy. Sandy Hogarth was born at the Post Office 90 years

:15:46. > :15:51.ago. His father and brother were both Post Masters, whose service

:15:51. > :15:55.spanned seven decades. He records opportunities -- recalls

:15:55. > :16:01.opportunities to earn extra pocket money. If the telegraph messenger

:16:01. > :16:06.was away for his lunch, we got the job of delivering Telegraphs. A

:16:06. > :16:14.penny halfpenny for a local one, sixpence within a three-mile

:16:14. > :16:20.boundary, and a shilling for a five mile boundary. Penny is the current

:16:20. > :16:23.owner and post mistress, and she says a historian. We have the

:16:23. > :16:28.national treasure here, which should be an international treasure.

:16:28. > :16:31.We are the oldest in the world, and that is something to be proud of.

:16:31. > :16:35.Some years ago, ambitious plans to make the Post Office here a tourist

:16:35. > :16:42.attraction fell through, and more recently hope that a special stamp

:16:42. > :16:45.may be issued to mark the centenary were dashed by Royal Mail. Despite

:16:45. > :16:51.these setbacks, there remains a desire here that more could and

:16:51. > :16:59.should be made of the town was -- town's unique mark on postal

:16:59. > :17:02.Some more history now. It was one of hundreds of small boats that

:17:02. > :17:05.took part in the most remarkable rescue operations of the Second

:17:05. > :17:07.World War. Skylark Nine saved the lives of hundreds of allied

:17:07. > :17:14.soldiers lives after they were trapped on the beaches of Dunkirk.

:17:14. > :17:23.Now she's up for sale for just a pound. But there is a catch. Huw

:17:23. > :17:26.Williams reports. Here in pictures as the tramp that

:17:26. > :17:29.made a military disaster... Skylark Nine was one of the

:17:29. > :17:33.hundreds of little ships that rescue thousands of members of the

:17:33. > :17:37.British Expeditionary Force from the beaches of Dunkirk in 1940.

:17:37. > :17:41.After the war, she had a quieter life, cruising Loch Lomond for

:17:41. > :17:46.three decades. This was her in her prime. And this is her now after

:17:46. > :17:53.she sank at her mooring 18 months ago. Now the only way to see her

:17:53. > :17:58.properly is under the water. But Skylark Nine is part of the local

:17:58. > :18:04.story as well as the history of World War Two. She took 600 people

:18:04. > :18:07.off the beaches of Dunkirk, and for 30 years has played a n important

:18:07. > :18:12.part of the local history. She deserves a better fate than she has

:18:12. > :18:18.at the moment. Now she is up for sale on an internet auction site.

:18:18. > :18:22.Asking price, just 1. It is really to raise the profile and generate

:18:22. > :18:25.some interest. It is a short window where we need somebody with a

:18:25. > :18:29.viable option to come along and the equipment and the willpower and

:18:29. > :18:32.perhaps the funding in place to get hat out of the water and get her

:18:32. > :18:36.somewhere safe so she does have a future. 1 for such an important

:18:36. > :18:39.piece of maritime history might seem like the bargain of the

:18:39. > :18:43.century, but what Skylark Nine really need is somebody with the

:18:43. > :18:50.money, skills and expertise to draw up a plan which will preserve her

:18:50. > :18:53.and can suffer for the future. What a sad story. The pandas at

:18:53. > :18:56.Edinburgh zoo have had a royal visitor. Princess Anne spent ten

:18:56. > :18:59.minutes viewing Sweetie, the female panda. She also had a private

:18:59. > :19:02.viewing with the male panda, Sunshine, and helped feed him

:19:02. > :19:11.bamboo. The Princess is patron of the Royal Zoological Society of

:19:11. > :19:16.Scotland, which runs the zoo. He looks like he is enjoying that

:19:16. > :19:19.there. Too much carry on in this programme! Now for the sport. The

:19:19. > :19:21.Brighton striker Craig Mackail Smith will start up front for

:19:21. > :19:24.Scotland tomorrow in a side captained by Gary Caldwell. Manager

:19:24. > :19:27.Craig Levein has opted not to start Kenny Miller against Slovenia after

:19:27. > :19:30.his gruelling Carling Cup final match with Cardiff. The squad flew

:19:30. > :19:37.out today hoping to pick up some tips on qualification. Our senior

:19:37. > :19:41.football reporter Chris McLaughlin reports.

:19:41. > :19:46.It was a squad of mostly familiar faces that headed for Slovenia this

:19:46. > :19:50.afternoon. The manager will be forced to make some changes due to

:19:50. > :19:54.injury. Celtic's Charlie Mulgrew will start in defence. James

:19:54. > :19:57.MacArthur will take his place in midfield. And Brighton striker

:19:57. > :20:01.Craig Mackail Smith will be the lone striker. Gary Caldwell also

:20:01. > :20:06.starts as captain for the first time. It is a great opportunity for

:20:06. > :20:11.myself and some of the other lads that don't really play for Scotland

:20:11. > :20:14.in the starting 11 to do well. it is a friendly match, but the

:20:14. > :20:19.World Cup campaign starts here, according to the manager. And he

:20:19. > :20:25.thinks they could learn a thing or two from their hosts. For too long,

:20:25. > :20:28.Scotland have not been at the top table in major finals. I look at

:20:28. > :20:33.Slovenia and look at their recent history and how her they have done

:20:33. > :20:36.and the size of the country, and you could almost say it is a model

:20:36. > :20:40.for us. We would like to see if we can do as well as them. And with

:20:40. > :20:43.new faces looking to impress, the scene is set for a feisty friendly.

:20:43. > :20:46.Daniel Majstorovic is out for the rest of the season. The 34-year-old

:20:46. > :20:49.Celtic defender was injured in a training pitch clash while on duty

:20:49. > :20:56.with Sweden. Majstorovic has ruptured his left cruciate ligament,

:20:56. > :20:59.and is also likely miss this To rugby, and the former Scotland

:20:59. > :21:01.stand-off Dan Parks will move to Connacht at the end of this season.

:21:01. > :21:04.Parks, who retired from international rugby after this

:21:04. > :21:11.year's opening Six Nations match, will leave Cardiff Blues and head

:21:11. > :21:15.to the Irish side on a two-year Andy Murray is through to the

:21:15. > :21:18.second round of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, but he had to

:21:18. > :21:21.work pretty hard to get there. The world number 4 admitted he'd felt

:21:21. > :21:28.ill before the encounter against Michael Berrer. Despite this,

:21:28. > :21:32.Murray eventually won the match in three sets.

:21:32. > :21:42.In his first outing since losing the final of the Australian Open,

:21:42. > :21:44.

:21:44. > :21:54.Andy Murray started slowly, losing The world No. 4 broke back

:21:54. > :21:55.

:21:55. > :22:01.immediately, and then began to ease After just 38 minutes, the first

:22:01. > :22:09.set was his, and all was looking fine. In the second set, having

:22:09. > :22:13.already been broken, the opponent up his game considerably. The 31-

:22:13. > :22:17.year-old from Stuttgart frustrated Andy Murray, and having taken the

:22:17. > :22:23.second set, the biggest win of his career was looking a distinct

:22:23. > :22:33.possibility. The No. 3 seed looked a little off the pace, but

:22:33. > :22:37.

:22:37. > :22:46.eventually managed to get his game And after a bigger workout than he

:22:46. > :22:50.had perhaps expected, Murray closed out the match 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

:22:50. > :22:53.Another qualifier is the next hurdle to overcome in round two.

:22:53. > :22:56.And he will be on first on Centre Court around 10 o'clock tomorrow

:22:56. > :22:59.morning. Thank you very much. Crete, Corfu,

:22:59. > :23:02.Tunisia, Majorca. Take your pick, the Granite City was warmer than

:23:02. > :23:05.them all today. The temperature might not have reached record-

:23:05. > :23:14.breaking, but today Aberdeen enjoyed one of the warmest February

:23:14. > :23:18.days in the UK. Colin Wight can tell us more.

:23:18. > :23:24.Aberdeen Beach, and if not a scorcher, it is at least warm,

:23:24. > :23:28.especially for February, with temperatures in the City over 16

:23:28. > :23:33.degrees as most people headed off for work. It is wonderful. This is

:23:33. > :23:38.more like the Continent than Aberdeen. This time last year, we

:23:38. > :23:43.were knee-deep in snow. They say that this is the hottest February

:23:43. > :23:48.for 100 years. We are just lapping this up. I think it is wonderful to

:23:48. > :23:50.be sitting outside in Aberdeen in February. It is unbelievable.

:23:50. > :23:55.today's higher than normal temperatures have been caused by

:23:55. > :24:02.warm air from around the Azores being brought north by strong winds.

:24:02. > :24:04.It will get cooler later in the week. Scientists have been watching

:24:04. > :24:09.the temperature for a decade and have noticed a steady rise. That

:24:09. > :24:13.could mean big changes for farmers. Farm management will be

:24:13. > :24:16.significantly different, because if you suddenly get large amounts of

:24:16. > :24:20.rain in short periods followed by a blistering heat, the soil will be

:24:20. > :24:24.under massive pressure. Smarter ways of managing the crops will

:24:24. > :24:28.have to be developed. Meanwhile, the first signs of spring have been

:24:28. > :24:31.here for weeks. Last year in January we were willing the

:24:31. > :24:35.snowdrops to come out of the ground, and in early February we had hardly

:24:35. > :24:39.a snowdrop to show. Rose this year, in January, they were leaping

:24:39. > :24:44.through the ground, and we were willing them to stay in the ground!

:24:44. > :24:48.Back in ice-cream -- back in Aberdeen, ice-cream sales are up.

:24:48. > :24:56.These are the same sales we had last March. We are all looking for

:24:56. > :25:06.the weather. They say never cast a clout until May is out. But with

:25:06. > :25:07.

:25:07. > :25:16.weather like this, you have to let Now let's find out what is

:25:16. > :25:21.happening across the country with There has been a spell of very mild

:25:21. > :25:28.weather this week, with this warm air coming up to the west coast of

:25:28. > :25:32.Scotland, and it has turned pretty misty and murky. We have seen

:25:32. > :25:40.temperatures to 12 or 13 Celsius, but not as nice as it is in the

:25:40. > :25:45.east. It was 17 at the highest in Aberdeen today. It will continue to

:25:45. > :25:50.be largely dry tonight, a little patchy rain in the West, but try

:25:50. > :25:59.elsewhere. Although it will be a cooler night than last night, still

:25:59. > :26:05.very mild for the time of year. Mainly light winds, turning fresher

:26:05. > :26:10.and westerly, and cooler. Tomorrow will be fairly cloudy again, with

:26:10. > :26:14.outbreaks of drizzle. However, by the time we reach around 3 o'clock

:26:14. > :26:18.tomorrow afternoon, we will see a lot more in the way of brightness

:26:18. > :26:23.developing across southern and central parts. And although it will

:26:24. > :26:28.be cooler than today, temperatures will still reach 11 Celsius. Always

:26:28. > :26:32.a little more in the way of cloud up the west coast, especially with

:26:32. > :26:38.the the drizzle pushing into the western and northern isles. But the

:26:38. > :26:43.best of those temperatures, like yesterday, in the north-east. As we

:26:43. > :26:47.head towards tomorrow evening, it will stay largely dried. But as we

:26:47. > :26:51.head into the overnight period, we begin to see a little changed as

:26:51. > :26:56.the weather front putsches in from the north-west. This is going to

:26:56. > :27:02.mean a fairly wet day on Thursday, but the rain will be largely patchy

:27:02. > :27:09.and light. It will then push across the country, still in the milder

:27:09. > :27:15.air, said temperatures up to 12 Celsius. And cooler conditions for

:27:15. > :27:18.Now, just before seven o'clock, a summary of tonight's top stories: A

:27:18. > :27:20.court has heard that the Celtic manager Neil Lennon and the former

:27:20. > :27:24.MSP Trish Godman were sent suspicious packages containing a

:27:24. > :27:27.bottle of liquid, wire and a more than forty nails. But the jury was

:27:27. > :27:30.told by a specialist police officer that the devices were not viable.

:27:30. > :27:33.A British photographer wounded in Syria has been smuggled out of the

:27:33. > :27:36.country to neighbouring Lebanon. Paul Conroy was injured last week

:27:36. > :27:43.in the same attack that killed his colleague Marie Colvin in the city

:27:43. > :27:46.of Homs. It is understood that Syrian

:27:46. > :27:48.activists were killed in the operation to get him across the

:27:48. > :27:50.border. Police have revealed that on the

:27:51. > :27:54.day an 80-year-old woman was murdered in her remote Perthshire

:27:54. > :27:57.cottage she'd cut short a phone call to a friend after hearing a

:27:57. > :27:59.vehicle pull into her drive. It's the last time detectives can be

:27:59. > :28:03.certain Jenny Methven from Forteviot was still alive. And that
