:00:19. > :00:24.Tonight on Reporting Scotland... The First Minister apologises after

:00:24. > :00:31.being accused of misleading Parliament. I apologise to the

:00:31. > :00:38.chamber. He said he gave incorrect information about college funding.

:00:38. > :00:42.Labour said Scotland would never be able to trust him again. The body

:00:42. > :00:47.of a soldier from Glasgow shot dead in Afghanistan is returns to

:00:47. > :00:56.Britain. Questions raised about a treatment plan for people that are

:00:56. > :01:04.terminally ill. There are hypocrites in the medical

:01:04. > :01:12.profession. And later, the fisherman trying to get local

:01:12. > :01:20.produce To catch on with children. What did you not like? It did not

:01:20. > :01:25.taste nice, the taste of it. It is good for our Hearts and brains.

:01:25. > :01:31.testing taste for pupils on the Isle of Skye as we did into seafood

:01:31. > :01:36.landed on your doorstep. Alex Salmond has denied apologised City

:01:36. > :01:40.MSPs for getting his figures wrong on the college funding. He claimed

:01:40. > :01:44.it had increased from last year but under pressure he was forced to

:01:44. > :01:54.acknowledge he had used an incorrect figure and that they had

:01:54. > :01:55.

:01:55. > :01:58.It is about them. Students. Also about the Glasgow College boss

:01:58. > :02:08.pressed to quit after secretly recording a meeting with the

:02:08. > :02:09.

:02:09. > :02:12.minister. But now it is about them. Were ministers misled. Some people

:02:12. > :02:18.have said that the Budget was up from last year to this but Labour

:02:18. > :02:23.disagrees. It was in fact wrong. It is misleading of Parliament and is

:02:23. > :02:30.that not an offence that would cost him his job? Alex Salmond that his

:02:30. > :02:38.minister. I think five large and 45 million is by definition an

:02:38. > :02:48.increase in funding. -- 545 million. Outside the chamber, both dismissed

:02:48. > :02:51.the attack. She calls for everybody's resignation except hers.

:02:51. > :02:56.If they do not make a case in the chamber, that is an end to the

:02:56. > :03:03.matter. A You are not going anywhere saying? The minister

:03:03. > :03:09.insisted he was not comparing like with like. Funding was initially

:03:09. > :03:15.set at 544.7 million. But that was set at 544.7 million. But that was

:03:15. > :03:23.topped up to 555.7 million. This year, the planned figure was 506.9.

:03:23. > :03:24.The final total, after top-ups... And that, said Labour means that

:03:24. > :03:31.And that, said Labour means that funding has been cut and not

:03:31. > :03:40.increased. Interrupting normal these days, Labour said the First

:03:40. > :03:45.Minister was drawing a line. Well, Ding, Dong, presiding officer.

:03:45. > :03:48.the government, they said the figures were being checked out. And

:03:48. > :03:55.finally, Alex Salmond admitted using the wrong figure for last

:03:55. > :03:58.year and that they had been a cut. I take responsibility for what I

:03:58. > :04:05.have said in this chamber and I take the earliest opportunity to

:04:05. > :04:15.correct a figure. It should have been five under and 56 million, not

:04:15. > :04:20.545 million. And I apologised. -- 556 million. Labour said it was not

:04:20. > :04:28.an isolated incident. After the dip Arkell in Europe, how can anybody

:04:29. > :04:32.believe a word that he says? -- the problem in Europe. Not his happiest

:07:48. > :07:53.with his mother but she said she put him out as he had stolen from

:07:53. > :07:59.her. She said on the day her mother died she had contacted him and had

:07:59. > :08:04.no concerns. She telephoned again at 7 o'clock and there was no reply.

:08:04. > :08:08.She tried again and again and became anxious. She asked her son

:08:08. > :08:13.to check on his grandmother. She said she knew there was something

:08:13. > :08:18.wrong. She went to the house and the police were there. She said

:08:18. > :08:23.that he was in shock, saying, my grandmother. She said that he had

:09:10. > :09:15.from the BBC. Coming up... How a funding project is helping

:09:15. > :09:21.disadvantaged youngsters learn music. And in sport, Celtic's

:09:21. > :09:27.goalscoring prodigy gets a new long-term deal. Details later and

:09:27. > :09:34.some stark talk. What will be matched with Luxembourg do with

:09:34. > :09:37.Billy Stark's chances of getting the job full-time? Questions are

:09:37. > :09:43.being raised about a common treatment plan for people

:09:43. > :09:47.terminally ill. The Liverpool Care Pathway offers specialised care and

:09:47. > :09:57.dignity for be dying but some people think it is a stabbing death

:10:04. > :10:09.82nd birthday... Four years ago, he walks into hospital after a funny

:10:09. > :10:14.turn. A streak was suspected and in hours he was in a hospital bed and

:10:14. > :10:20.apparently dying. His daughter accidentally knocks the drip out of

:10:20. > :10:25.his arm. Instead of dying as you were told you would not make big

:10:25. > :10:30.night, you started to wake up and started asking, is that you? Where

:10:30. > :10:35.am I? We started having fun with him because the doctors said he

:10:35. > :10:40.would not leave until Sunday and he would be dead. That was four years

:10:40. > :10:46.ago. I do not know what was happening. I was going back and I

:10:46. > :10:51.put my trust in the medical profession. Where I have lost my

:10:51. > :10:57.trust, I do not trust them now. story is one of many connected to a

:10:57. > :11:00.care plan called Liverpool Care Pathway. This pathway or a version

:11:00. > :11:05.is used in every health board in Scotland and was designed to give

:11:05. > :11:10.people a dignified death, removing the obligation to give futile

:11:10. > :11:14.treatment. In some cases, food and spirits can be withdrawn. But

:11:14. > :11:19.somebody should only be put on the plan with the agreement of

:11:19. > :11:24.relatives. David's family had a different experience. He watched

:11:25. > :11:28.his mother and dad died from cancer. His mother died alone in hospital

:11:28. > :11:38.at night but depart weight meant his father's death was more

:11:38. > :11:41.

:11:41. > :11:47.controlled. --, but his father's death. I was there and my son was

:11:47. > :11:52.there. My mother died alone and it was terrible and it has haunted me

:11:52. > :11:57.ever since. The Liverpool Care Pathway seems to have helped some

:11:57. > :12:07.and failed others. Many people say it is not the rules which fail,

:12:07. > :12:08.

:12:08. > :12:13.Other stories from around Scotland... The manufacturers of a

:12:13. > :12:17.helicopter which ditched in Shetland said it could be February

:12:17. > :12:21.before the model involved comes back into service. The company told

:12:21. > :12:27.an industry meeting that they are still carrying out tests to resolve

:12:27. > :12:33.the problem. We need to regain confidence and in particular,

:12:33. > :12:40.confidence of the passengers and crews in the aircraft and the way

:12:40. > :12:44.in which we as a company tackle this problem. A 25,000 reward is

:12:49. > :12:54.East Coast line. An object had been deliberately placed on a track

:12:54. > :13:00.north of Dundee earlier this month. The constabulary are investigating

:13:00. > :13:04.a report that helicopters were used to kill deer on an estate. A hill

:13:04. > :13:09.walker claimed he saw helicopters being used to drive them towards

:13:09. > :13:14.marksmen, which is illegal. The estate said helicopters were only

:13:14. > :13:20.used to take personnel to areas where deer were to be shot. A cycle

:14:11. > :14:16.way it is believed she was buried. Moira Anderson vanished on a trip

:14:16. > :14:23.to have local shop in Coatbridge 55 years ago. The disappearance has

:14:23. > :14:30.been treated as murder. Moira Anderson disappeared just weeks

:14:30. > :14:35.before her 12th birthday. She was sent to the shops and banished. It

:14:35. > :14:42.was February, 1957. She was last seen at this bus stop. Her family

:14:42. > :14:46.always hoped she would return. waited each night at an evening

:14:46. > :14:54.meal and we hope she was going to come back. We thought she might

:14:54. > :14:59.have been deducted. It never -- abducted. We hoped she would come

:14:59. > :15:06.back but hopes faded. A but years later, suspicion fell on a bus

:15:06. > :15:13.driver. A convicted child molester, he was exposed as the likely killer

:15:13. > :15:17.by his own daughter. She accused him in a book of murder and set up

:15:17. > :15:27.a foundation in the name of Moira Anderson to help the people

:15:27. > :15:29.

:15:29. > :15:33.I would not have imagined he was a black sheep, that his own father

:15:33. > :15:38.had blamed him for all sorts of things, including the Moira

:15:38. > :15:43.Anderson thing. The Moira Anderson Foundation has asked for a grave at

:15:43. > :15:49.the cemetery in Coatbridge to be opened. Buried in this graveyard is

:15:49. > :15:54.a man called Sinclair. He is thought to have been a friend of

:15:55. > :16:01.Alexander. A friend once described as having done a special favour. He

:16:01. > :16:05.was buried in 19 it 57, around the same time as Moira Anderson. --

:16:05. > :16:13.1957. The decision will be made by the court. No date has been decided

:16:14. > :16:18.for that hearing. It could be a matter of weeks. They may live

:16:18. > :16:22.along the West Coast and many are born into seafaring families that

:16:22. > :16:26.school children on Skye are being urged to eat more seafood on their

:16:26. > :16:31.doorstep. Local groups have joined forces with a project promoting

:16:31. > :16:37.their health and economic benefits of eating the locally sourced

:16:38. > :16:42.products. Lucrative patches of shellfish are landed on Skye. As

:16:42. > :16:46.always, the bulk is bound for the Continent and not for local did

:16:47. > :16:50.tables. A few miles up the roads in Portree, a new attempt is being

:16:50. > :16:57.made for to encourage schoolchildren have to eat more of

:16:57. > :17:05.the country's finest exports. What was it you did not like? It was not

:17:05. > :17:10.a nice texture in my mouth. bulldog chewing a wasp. I used to

:17:10. > :17:14.be the same! Prawns may be in plentiful supply a but few

:17:14. > :17:19.supermarkets sell them. To change that, local fishermen have donated

:17:19. > :17:25.a catch to the project at Portree High School this week to help

:17:25. > :17:29.educate young palates. If we can grow a market through encouraging

:17:29. > :17:33.today's youth to have a taste for the product, they will carry that

:17:33. > :17:37.through it their lives. We are generating a market, we are

:17:37. > :17:42.generating sustainability of demand that will allow the retailer the

:17:42. > :17:45.confidence to stop the product on the shelves. As well as getting to

:17:46. > :17:53.grips with cooking seafood, the health benefits are being anchored.

:17:53. > :17:58.The message getting through... learned it is high in a meagre

:17:58. > :18:03.three and that is good for us. It is one of the very few meat that

:18:03. > :18:07.has a meagre three. It is good for hearts and brains. It is hoped

:18:07. > :18:10.initiatives like this will give children a true taste of the wealth

:18:10. > :18:20.of seafood on their doorstep. Eventually, it is hoped shelling

:18:20. > :18:21.

:18:21. > :18:23.one of these will become as easy as opening a packet of crisps. Now the

:18:23. > :18:27.sport. Celtic's in-form young striker Tony

:18:27. > :18:30.Watt says the last seven days have possibly been the best of his life.

:18:30. > :18:34.After his famous goal against Barcelona, the 18-year-old has

:18:34. > :18:44.signed a new four-year contract. His ambitions now are to help

:18:44. > :18:54.

:18:54. > :19:00.Celtic win the League, and to keep scoring goals.

:19:00. > :19:06.No wonder he is smiling. Just 18 years old and imposition of a

:19:06. > :19:11.brand-new four-year contract. a dream come true. -- and in a

:19:11. > :19:15.position. All the boys are brilliant. It is good I am in the

:19:16. > :19:20.team. He is aim is to become a regular in the Celtic team. Two

:19:20. > :19:27.years ago, he was learning his trade at a tree United. Did he

:19:27. > :19:34.foresee it? Know. -- no. Some people told me that I did not

:19:34. > :19:39.believe them. I was always hard on myself. It was from here that Tony

:19:39. > :19:42.Watt hit the most important strike of his career, a goal against

:19:42. > :19:49.Barcelona in the Champions League followed by a new contract. Surely

:19:49. > :19:55.the best week of his life. Yes, possibly. I want to win as much as

:19:55. > :20:02.I can for Celtic. I want to be here for him long time. I warned people

:20:02. > :20:05.to remember me. -- I want people. Many more goals like this and he

:20:06. > :20:09.will be hard to forget. One of the potential candidates to

:20:09. > :20:12.be the next Scotland manager has had a taste of what it is like to

:20:12. > :20:16.be in charge of the national team. Under interim manager Billy Stark,

:20:16. > :20:19.the Scots beat Luxembourg by two goals to one. That will not have

:20:19. > :20:29.done his prospects any harm as the Scottish FA starts working on a

:20:29. > :20:31.

:20:31. > :20:36.shortlist of contenders for the job. The few Scotland fans holding on to

:20:36. > :20:42.any hope of reaching Brazil, what they will take from this game with

:20:42. > :20:46.Luxembourg will be in question. A morale boosting game will give the

:20:46. > :20:51.Billy Stark are a chance of sticking the job. It started well.

:20:51. > :20:58.Scotland opened the scoring. He was keen to make his mark. A chance

:20:58. > :21:05.inside the box. He made it 2-0. After a good first half, it tailed

:21:05. > :21:10.off. There was a second path free- kick that made it 2-1. Jordan

:21:10. > :21:15.Rhodes was denied a hat-trick by an offside flag. What chance of Billy

:21:15. > :21:22.Stark keeping the job on a full- time basis? I have been asked to

:21:22. > :21:26.take the team through this game. I am delighted we had a victory. We

:21:27. > :21:31.will see what happens. Billy Stark will be a worthy full-time boss,

:21:31. > :21:38.says the Scotland goalscorer. Without a doubt. You have to look

:21:38. > :21:43.at his record. He has had an under 21 record at the last two campaigns.

:21:43. > :21:49.He is since -- he is experienced as a player and a manager. Without a

:21:49. > :21:53.doubt, I would say. Billy Stark remains in the frame but a

:21:53. > :21:57.Luxembourg friendly is out of the way and the FA will work up a

:21:57. > :22:00.shortlist as the search for a full- time Scotland boss begins.

:22:00. > :22:03.The Hearts manager John McGlynn says first team players may be sold

:22:03. > :22:07.in the January transfer window to keep the club in business. Hearts

:22:07. > :22:09.have been given until December 3rd to pay a tax bill of 450,00. Some

:22:09. > :22:17.players have deferred their wages but McGlynn says that might not

:22:17. > :22:22.enough. It may well be there are players

:22:22. > :22:26.who will be out of contract at the end of the season who may get some

:22:26. > :22:31.interest from others who may come forward and make bids. It may not

:22:31. > :22:36.be because the bids are enough money for the football club to help

:22:36. > :22:38.survive. If that was to happen, the main thing is that the club

:22:38. > :22:40.survives. South Africa's rugby players will

:22:40. > :22:43.provide more than just a physical challenge for Scotland to overcome

:22:43. > :22:46.this weekend, according to new Scots captain Kelly Brown. Whilst

:22:46. > :22:49.the home side are coming off the back of that heavy defeat to New

:22:49. > :22:57.Zealand last Sunday, the Springboks showed their power in coming from

:22:57. > :23:03.behind to beat Ireland in Dublin. The Strentz were there, kicking

:23:03. > :23:11.game, their physicality. -- the strengths. They and all sides are

:23:11. > :23:18.looking to expand their game. I am sure on Saturday we will be faced

:23:18. > :23:23.by more than just a huge physical challenge. That is all the sport.

:23:23. > :23:27.Learning to read music can be daunting but now it has a project

:23:27. > :23:36.funded by to -- where Children In Need is helping youngsters take

:23:36. > :23:41.their first steps by a using colours and symbols.

:23:41. > :23:44.Singing, trying out instruments and creating their own tunes, these

:23:44. > :23:47.children in Edinburgh are being introduced to music through the

:23:48. > :23:53.figure Notes system. Instead of following what can be confusing

:23:53. > :23:57.black notes on a white paper, they match colours and shapes on the

:23:57. > :24:02.page to symbols on the instruments. It aims to make music accessible.

:24:02. > :24:07.For some children, they like -- they lack confidence and they have
