:00:08. > :00:10.Good evening. Environmental campaigners have

:00:11. > :00:15.published league tables which they say identify Scotland's most

:00:16. > :00:18.polluted streets. Friends of the Earth Scotland have warned their

:00:19. > :00:21.research shows air pollution from vehicles is a major threat to

:00:22. > :00:32.health, even in some smaller towns and villages.

:00:33. > :00:38.Pope street in the centre of Glasgow is said to have the highest levels

:00:39. > :00:43.of nitrogen dioxide pollution in Scotland. That is linked to

:00:44. > :00:48.respiratory diseases. Meanwhile, market street in Aberdeen is claimed

:00:49. > :00:54.to have the highest levels of matter, tiny particles from vehicle

:00:55. > :00:58.exhausts are links to a high risk of heart attack. The problem of air

:00:59. > :01:03.pollution is not confined to our biggest towns and cities. There are

:01:04. > :01:09.some surprising places in the results. Missing health target in

:01:10. > :01:15.Crieff, Perthshire, even in small villages in some parts of West

:01:16. > :01:20.Lothian. Surprising way you can find a problem. The Scottish Government

:01:21. > :01:25.says pollution levels across the country have been falling. But

:01:26. > :01:28.accepts that more needs to be done. It is urging motorists to walk or

:01:29. > :01:35.cycle when travelling short distances.

:01:36. > :01:40.Politicians have clashed over the voting intentions of young people in

:01:41. > :01:46.September's referendum. It came as a poll showed a swing towards a yes

:01:47. > :01:53.vote amongst the young. Including 16 and 17-year-olds in the

:01:54. > :01:56.electorate was a rational with some question whether they were

:01:57. > :02:02.responsible enough. Now they have the power, how will they use it?

:02:03. > :02:05.There are a lot of uncertainties. Because of that, I wouldn't be

:02:06. > :02:12.voting yes at the moment. For as long as I can run but, I have been

:02:13. > :02:15.thinking yes. Politicians on both sides are keen to harness their vote

:02:16. > :02:21.and the shadow Foreign Secretary believes that the younger will opt

:02:22. > :02:27.for the union. Yell mac they are pragmatic as they see it we are

:02:28. > :02:34.unconnected generation ago, now we do not have to choose between being

:02:35. > :02:38.Scottish or British. A poll published today suggests a

:02:39. > :02:41.significant increase in support for independence, especially amongst

:02:42. > :02:47.young voters. In it, 37% of those questioned said

:02:48. > :02:53.they would vote yes, a 5% increase since September. 44% said they would

:02:54. > :03:03.vote no. Among the 16 to 24-year-old age group, 44% said they would vote

:03:04. > :03:06.yes. 32% plan to vote no. Questions have been raised about the small

:03:07. > :03:14.number of young people who were questioned. It is more important

:03:15. > :03:18.issue the trend in these debates. Young people want to see people that

:03:19. > :03:23.will talk about what Scotland can do, what we can achieve, young

:03:24. > :03:29.people can see that the no campaign is like one of those teachers that

:03:30. > :03:33.tells you what you cannot do. 16 to 24-year-olds make up a relatively

:03:34. > :03:37.small part of the electorate, but it is the youngest voters who will live

:03:38. > :03:41.longest with the result. Around 300 people have taken part in

:03:42. > :03:45.an Irish republican parade in the centre of Glasgow to mark the events

:03:46. > :03:52.of Bloody Sunday. A small counter-demonstration of loyalists

:03:53. > :03:57.near Glasgow Cathedral. Celtic have extended their unbeaten run to 22

:03:58. > :04:01.games with a 4-0 win over Hibernian. Kris Commons scored twice

:04:02. > :04:07.for the champions, thinking him over the 20 goal mark.

:04:08. > :04:14.After the match, Neil Lennon praised the goalkeeper, he kept Hibernian at

:04:15. > :04:19.bay with several good saves. The Bard's birthday was celebrated

:04:20. > :04:23.in a spectacular carnival in Dumfries. Around 2000 people took

:04:24. > :04:31.part in a parade of street performers, bands and Lantern

:04:32. > :04:36.bearers to celebrate Burns night. The carnival was a highlight of the

:04:37. > :04:40.third annual big Burns supper, three days of art and music that closes

:04:41. > :04:50.tonight with a concert by Big Country.

:04:51. > :04:57.There was some snow across the hills and high ground. Tonight, the focus

:04:58. > :05:02.is on ice. A yellow office be aware warning were ground will be wet from

:05:03. > :05:06.the showers. With plunging temperatures, they could be icy

:05:07. > :05:10.conditions. It is still windy around the coast and across the Northern

:05:11. > :05:18.Isles, we could see a Dumas 's power. The showers will merge. -- 80

:05:19. > :05:23.mph. Temperatures close to freezing. We

:05:24. > :05:29.will continue to see snow risk across parts of the Grampians and

:05:30. > :05:32.Highlands. Elsewhere, quite showery conditions and still quite breezy. A

:05:33. > :05:37.cold easterly wind coming across the North Sea. It will feel quite

:05:38. > :05:43.brought down the East coast and the Shetland, only to sell this as a max

:05:44. > :05:51.for you tomorrow with the potential of snow flurries. -- two Celsius.

:05:52. > :06:02.More news, weather and sport online. Until then, plenty more news on our

:06:03. > :06:11.website. Bye-bye. Good evening.

:06:12. > :06:12.will keep going through the nights tonight and as the air turns

:06:13. > :06:17.colder, tonight and as the air turns

:06:18. > :06:20.wintry. A mixture of sleet and snow leaving us with the risk advice. The

:06:21. > :06:25.band of rain has cleared his leaving us with the risk advice. The
