:00:08. > :00:11.Good afternoon. Smoking among young teenagers is at its lowest level

:00:12. > :00:16.since modern surveys began, according to a report by the

:00:17. > :00:26.anti-smoking charity ASH. Catriona Renton reports. The charity report

:00:27. > :00:33.says that in 1996 around one third of 15-year-olds smoke is at least

:00:34. > :00:40.one cigarette a week. That has fallen to one in ten. The smoking

:00:41. > :00:48.rate has dropped from 26.5% of 16-24 -year-olds, to 22% in 2012. The aim

:00:49. > :00:55.is to reduce the rate further for this year. We got really worried

:00:56. > :00:59.about five years ago because the smoking rates were not showing the

:01:00. > :01:02.decline in youngsters that they are seen in adults. The good news is

:01:03. > :01:07.that they are now starting to decline. That is as a result of the

:01:08. > :01:13.real commitment that has been shown in Scotland to tackling tobacco. One

:01:14. > :01:18.fifth of the adult population smoke, down from one third in 1999.

:01:19. > :01:22.But it is still strongly associated with deprivation and the gap between

:01:23. > :01:26.the richest and poorest has not reduced. The Scottish government say

:01:27. > :01:30.they are committed to bold action and want Scotland to be at the

:01:31. > :01:32.forefront of international efforts. Police say they're treating a

:01:33. > :01:35.disturbance in Glasgow which left two teenagers in hospital as an

:01:36. > :01:41.attempted murder and a serious assault. The 19-year-old men were

:01:42. > :01:44.taken to hospital following the incident in the Kinning Park area of

:01:45. > :01:49.Paisley Road West early this morning. The police say they're

:01:50. > :01:51.following a positive line of enquiry.

:01:52. > :01:54.Rugby, and Scotland face England at Murrayfield today in the Calcutta

:01:55. > :01:58.Cup, after losing their opening match against Ireland last weekend.

:01:59. > :02:08.But the squad is confident it can rise to the occasion. This game

:02:09. > :02:13.means a huge amount to others. It means a huge amount to the English

:02:14. > :02:18.boys also, trying to turn is over on our home page. We will do everything

:02:19. > :02:20.in our power to get the cup back. And there's live coverage of

:02:21. > :02:23.Scotland versus England later on this channel and on BBC Radio

:02:24. > :02:26.Scotland. Kick-off at 5pm. Rangers have cruised into the

:02:27. > :02:33.quarter finals of the Scottish Cup. They beat Dunfermline 4-0 in last

:02:34. > :02:41.night's game at Ibrox. This was the first of Dean Shiels' three goals..

:02:42. > :02:53.Now the weekend weather. Cloudy and damp with a number of

:02:54. > :02:56.showers. He was the combined satellite picture. This whole area

:02:57. > :03:05.of showery rain and cloud moving eastwards. The map, we can see that

:03:06. > :03:14.the showers are heavy at times. The wind is risk from the south. Not as

:03:15. > :03:18.windy in the central belt land. In the showers are fairly frequent.

:03:19. > :03:25.Probably for the rugby this afternoon over at Murrayfield.

:03:26. > :03:32.Feeling a little bit chilly. This afternoon into the evening, showers

:03:33. > :03:37.continue for a time. But through the central belt and south, they

:03:38. > :03:46.continue. Temperature, around about four Celsius. A touch cool in the

:03:47. > :03:54.countryside. Sunday, and East/West split. Showers frequent across the
