:00:00. > :00:07.the evening session still to come. There is more throughout the evening

:00:08. > :00:16.Good evening. Some of Scotland's leading cancer experts have spoken

:00:17. > :00:20.of "postcode prescribing" in access to new drugs. A group of oncologists

:00:21. > :00:25.at the Beatson in Glasgow says the system is "highly problematic"

:00:26. > :00:27.locally. The Scottish Government insists it's committed to improving

:00:28. > :00:30.access to new medicines. Gillian Sharpe reports.Police have launched

:00:31. > :00:33.an investigation after claims that a young East Stirling footballer

:00:34. > :00:41.suffered racial abuse during a match at Peterhead. Cancer affects

:00:42. > :00:44.families across Scotland. The Beatson which serves more than 50%

:00:45. > :00:51.of the Scottish population has written to the government. They say

:00:52. > :00:56.their local experiences that the system is not fit for purpose. This

:00:57. > :01:09.is despite suggestions from the Scottish Government that the system

:01:10. > :01:11.would be less suggestive. They argue that the postcode prescribing in

:01:12. > :01:20.Scotland adds to the injustice experienced by patients. This

:01:21. > :01:30.opposition MSP says those changes will lead to a much improved system

:01:31. > :01:33.but this letter poses concern. Time is of the essence. The consultants

:01:34. > :01:46.say they are not getting access as they expect to. The new system

:01:47. > :01:55.should be up and running by Maeve. May. The whole thrust of government

:01:56. > :02:05.policy is to make it easier for patients who would benefit from new

:02:06. > :02:09.medicines to get easier access. Police have launched an

:02:10. > :02:18.investigation after claims that a young footballer suffered racial

:02:19. > :02:21.abuse during a match at the ahead. East Stirling player, 17-year-old

:02:22. > :02:24.Jordan Tapping had to be subsituted during Saturday's match at Balmoor

:02:25. > :02:27.Stadium after breaking down in tears. The club said he was

:02:28. > :02:30.extremely distressed. Peterhead have apologised to the player and are

:02:31. > :02:32.pledging to help find those responsible. Poor ticket sales and

:02:33. > :02:35.low-level marketing could threaten the event organised to mark the

:02:36. > :02:38.700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn. And now a clash with

:02:39. > :02:42.Armed Forces Day has prompted politicians and clan chiefs to raise

:02:43. > :02:53.concerns about the event. More from Andrew Kerr. The creation of a

:02:54. > :03:00.nation. The new visitor senator opened to the public this weekend

:03:01. > :03:06.and the Bannockburn Live will open this summer. But there are concerns

:03:07. > :03:16.that the generation has been cut back and the ticket sales are down.

:03:17. > :03:24.Chan chiefs -- clan chiefs are worried. It has caused confusion

:03:25. > :03:30.over what is going on amongst our friends overseas. They need a clear

:03:31. > :03:34.cut view and that there's nothing worse than a confused ancestral to

:03:35. > :03:41.list our ancestral Scott because they are the ones putting the money

:03:42. > :03:50.into this. Conservatives share worries about the marketing and also

:03:51. > :03:57.about uptake. Public. -- uptake from the public. The Scottish tourism

:03:58. > :04:08.industry is relying on this being a success. People have said to us this

:04:09. > :04:11.will break even and organisers have a good and solid experience in this

:04:12. > :04:19.area. It will be a spectacular success. Visit Scotland who have

:04:20. > :04:26.been accused by MSPs for keeping them in the dark about organisation

:04:27. > :04:31.say the critics are jumping the gun. It was always going to be that

:04:32. > :04:38.promotion would be built up as we work towards the event itself. There

:04:39. > :04:47.may be dissent in their ranks and frequent skirmishes but then people

:04:48. > :04:51.will no doubt get behind the Bruce. Ricky Burns has vowed to bounce back

:04:52. > :04:53.at world title level and fight on after losing his WBO Lightweight

:04:54. > :04:57.belt to unbeaten American Terence Crawford in Glasgow last night. The

:04:58. > :04:59.Scot suffered his first defeat in seven years after judges took a

:05:00. > :05:03.unanimous points decision against him. Let's now get the weather for

:05:04. > :05:07.tonight and the start of the week with

:05:08. > :05:15.this could be a changeable week but that is not all bad. Some rain is

:05:16. > :05:20.forecast for this evening and for tonight. It will continue northwards

:05:21. > :05:24.to ring the course of the evening. It will fall as snow on the hills

:05:25. > :05:31.and dry and clear conditions will push the West. There is a risk of

:05:32. > :05:35.ice in south-west Scotland as we see temperatures falling to around

:05:36. > :05:42.freezing or below freezing. It will stay breezy across Shetland and

:05:43. > :05:48.Orkney. It will be dry and clear in the West tomorrow but rain across

:05:49. > :05:54.eastern areas and will eventually be confined to northern parts. Double

:05:55. > :05:57.beehives of around six or seven Celsius.

:05:58. > :06:01.Thanks, Judith. And that's Reporting Scotland. We're back just after the

:06:02. > :06:10.ten o'clock news. Until then, will be back.

:06:16. > :06:16.warm sofa while it rains outside. Pretty heavy rain
