:00:00. > :00:00.first British champion. That is it for now.

:00:07. > :00:10.Good evening. Police in Fife are investigating the

:00:11. > :00:14.death of a two-year-old boy in Thornton. Officers were called to a

:00:15. > :00:22.house in the village last night, and are treating the death as

:00:23. > :00:26.unexplained. Aileen Clarke reports. The ambulance service was called to

:00:27. > :00:33.this house just before 8pm last night. They then alerted the police.

:00:34. > :00:37.The two-year-old had been found dead in a bedroom by a member of the

:00:38. > :00:43.family. Lisa see no one has been arrested or detained but other local

:00:44. > :00:48.parents should not be alarmed. It is tragic and devastating circumstances

:00:49. > :00:50.for the family, we have a family lives on officers working with the

:00:51. > :00:54.family to establish what has occurred. We are not looking for

:00:55. > :00:58.anyone else at this stage of the operation. Neighbours say the family

:00:59. > :01:04.including the two-year-old twin brothers had been seen earlier in

:01:05. > :01:07.the day. Yesterday my sons had went to the shops, around three or four,

:01:08. > :01:13.and seen the family all at the shops, all looked happy and like a

:01:14. > :01:17.normal family. We sincerely are currently treating the death as

:01:18. > :01:21.unexplained and will not speculate as to just how this little boy lost

:01:22. > :01:23.his life. ? The world's biggest investment fund manager, Blackrock,

:01:24. > :01:27.has said Scottish independence would bring "major uncertainties, costs

:01:28. > :01:30.and risks". But, in response, Yes Scotland says

:01:31. > :01:32.the credit agency Standard and Poor's highlighted the

:01:33. > :01:37.attractiveness of an independent Scotland for business. Meanwhile, an

:01:38. > :01:40.economics professor has said the Treasury's case against a possible

:01:41. > :01:45.currency union does not stand up to scrutiny. A spokesman for the First

:01:46. > :01:48.Minister says the report from Leslie Young "totally demolishes" the

:01:49. > :01:50.Whitehall analysis. The Better Together campaign insists the

:01:51. > :01:56.professor's work is flawed. And the SNP should tell voters its plan B on

:01:57. > :01:58.currency. The President of the local

:01:59. > :02:01.government umbrella organisation, Cosla, has urged Labour councils to

:02:02. > :02:04.think again about plans to end their membership. David O'Neill delivered

:02:05. > :02:16.his plea at the Labour conference in Perth. From there, our political

:02:17. > :02:20.editor Brian Taylor reports. The conference has backed plans to

:02:21. > :02:22.give local authorities more power in future, but right now Labour

:02:23. > :02:28.councils are unhappy with the umbrella properly -- umbrella

:02:29. > :02:35.organisation. Kozlov's president urged a rethink. Only cohesive and

:02:36. > :02:38.powerful voice for local government across Scotland has any chance of

:02:39. > :02:43.success. Seeking to damage that voices short-sighted because the

:02:44. > :02:48.long-term impact will be felt by those in our communities that we

:02:49. > :02:50.represent and who need our help. In a question session party leaders and

:02:51. > :02:57.sympathise with Labour councillors who feel Kozlov is not standing up

:02:58. > :03:00.for them. They also acknowledged the benefits of unity. Closing the

:03:01. > :03:04.conference the deputy leader said the wider choice facing the people

:03:05. > :03:10.Scotland was clear. 's devolution versus separation. Social justice

:03:11. > :03:14.versus nationalism. I am confident that with your help devolution and

:03:15. > :03:18.social justice will win. Supporters of independence is the it will offer

:03:19. > :03:21.a route to social justice. Thousands of Aberdeen football club

:03:22. > :03:25.fans have seen the Scottish League Cup trophy being paraded through the

:03:26. > :03:28.city centre by the team on an open-top bus. Last week the Dons

:03:29. > :03:38.beat Inverness in a penalty shoot out. Kevin Keane reports.

:03:39. > :03:46.This was the fans stay. And thousands of them see the silverware

:03:47. > :03:50.twinkle in the sun. For the film mile of union Street, crowds lined

:03:51. > :03:56.both sides, eager to groups that elusive trophy. And simply to bask

:03:57. > :04:03.in the city's gaudy. It is good to remember that when I was a kid, you

:04:04. > :04:08.can ever it being like this. It is amazing. We waited 19 years but it

:04:09. > :04:14.is unbelievable. I have never seen so many people in my life, it is a

:04:15. > :04:18.brilliant atmosphere. The open top bus was taking the team to a civic

:04:19. > :04:21.reception hosted by the City council. An opportunity for people

:04:22. > :04:30.to enjoy the club's success and for loyal fans to be rewarded with this

:04:31. > :04:38.site. We were hoping for a big crowd but I think this is beyond our

:04:39. > :04:43.expectations. As last Sunday was, 43,000 at Parkhead last Sunday was

:04:44. > :04:51.an amazing sight. A site the city was once used to. Many hoped this

:04:52. > :04:56.would be a one off. Time for the weather.

:04:57. > :05:03.It has been a lovely day for many of us, but with those blue skies we see

:05:04. > :05:07.clear skies and eight the cold night as you can see by the frosty cold

:05:08. > :05:12.behind me. It could be cold the slate we have seen this year, the

:05:13. > :05:14.widespread frost meaning we will already see temperatures reaching

:05:15. > :05:19.freezing and certainly that will be the case the night. -1 or minus two

:05:20. > :05:26.degrees. It will be a drowning, possibly minus five degrees or minus

:05:27. > :05:31.six degrees. Tomorrow will be cold, frosty and with lovely sunshine from

:05:32. > :05:33.first light. Dry cold the although we will see some change with the

:05:34. > :05:39.cloud increasing towards the West Coast, the afternoon. Some rainbow

:05:40. > :05:45.with an alternate, but the strengthening southerly wind. --

:05:46. > :05:48.some rain moving in overnight. For the rest of the week we see rain on

:05:49. > :05:53.Tuesday but from Wednesday onwards it is predominantly dry with a

:05:54. > :05:58.lighter winds. That's Reporting Scotland for now.

:05:59. > :06:06.We are back to late. Just after the BBC 10pm news. Goodbye.

:06:07. > :06:16.Hello. Following today's showers, tonight is going to be much colder.

:06:17. > :06:19.Clear skies, light winds, a recipe for a widespread frost. Sharp

:06:20. > :06:25.showers for the next couple of hours. From East Yorkshire to the

:06:26. > :06:27.south-east. Hail and thunder. Skies will clear across many areas.
