:00:59. > :01:04.devastating. To have a child as young as that for this to happen.

:01:39. > :01:41.enquiry. -- and the force CVR. The family of a seven year old boy

:01:42. > :01:44.who was discovered on fire in Aberdeen has thanked the medical

:01:45. > :01:47.staff who are looking after him. Preston Flores remains in a critical

:01:48. > :01:50.condition in hospital following the incident on Friday in Bedford

:01:54. > :01:56.of friends and the local community. The youngster's being treated at the

:02:15. > :02:16.Three Scottish universities have become the latest organisations to

:02:17. > :02:19.quit an influential business group, because it's backing the pro-Union

:02:20. > :02:21.campaign in the independence referendum. Aberdeen, Glasgow and

:02:22. > :02:24.Edinburgh universities have left the Confederation of British Industry

:02:30. > :02:41.Aquamarine Power and the Balhousie Care Group.

:02:42. > :02:45.After a weekend of spring sunshine there may be a few pink faces around

:02:46. > :02:48.but Scots are endangering their health if they're not listening to

:02:49. > :02:51.warnings about the sun. According to Cancer Research UK, in the last

:02:52. > :02:54.forty years the number of people diagnosed with malignant melanoma,

:02:55. > :03:09.has more than quadrupled in Scotland. Suzanne Allan reports.

:03:10. > :03:13.These tender moments with her family are something Caroline may never

:03:14. > :03:18.have had. At 26 she did not expect to be diagnosed with malignant

:03:19. > :03:23.melanoma. I was quite shocked at the time, I was annoyed and disappointed

:03:24. > :03:27.with myself because it had been dropped on by vanity, sitting in the

:03:28. > :03:31.sun and I was a regular sunbed user. I was quite annoyed I had brought

:03:32. > :03:35.this upon myself and obviously I would have to get surgery and have

:03:36. > :03:39.been left with a scar because of that. She is one of a growing number

:03:40. > :03:44.of people being diagnosed with the disease. A report today by Cancer

:03:45. > :03:49.research UK shows a dramatic increase in rates of skin cancer. It

:03:50. > :03:52.has been a lovely Easter weekend and it is probably the first time most

:03:53. > :03:56.of us have had our T-shirts and shorts on. According to Cancer

:03:57. > :04:02.research UK we are not heeding the warnings. In the past 40 years,

:04:03. > :04:06.rates of malignant melanoma have quadrupled in Scotland. In the

:04:07. > :04:12.mid-1970s and hundred and 90 people were diagnosed with it every year.

:04:13. > :04:18.Now, and 1200 people are diagnosed with this, the most serious form of

:04:19. > :04:21.skin cancer, every year in Scotland. The rise is partly due to an

:04:22. > :04:28.explosion in package holidays, even in sunbed use and better protection.

:04:29. > :04:33.But are we winning enough sunscreen? All year round I would wear a

:04:34. > :04:38.something on my face to protect my face. I may have done it if I was

:04:39. > :04:46.going hill walking or if I knew I was going to be outside for a long

:04:47. > :04:49.time. I never lose it. Carolyn has changed her attitude towards having

:04:50. > :04:52.completely. Wear a hat, teacher and sunglasses when the sun has a hat,

:04:53. > :04:54.teacher and sunglasses when the sun is strong and always use a factor of

:04:55. > :04:57.at least 15. A number of football clubs are

:04:58. > :05:01.proposing a shift in power within the game. These could lead to major

:05:02. > :05:04.changes in how the sport is governed in Scotland. Tomorrow, the Scottish

:05:05. > :05:06.Football Association and the Scottish Professional Football

:05:07. > :05:09.League will meet to discuss the situation. The proposals include

:05:10. > :05:11.changing the election of office bearers and how finance within the

:05:12. > :05:13.game is controlled. Judith is here with the weather

:05:14. > :05:23.outlook. Just reflecting on what we have seen

:05:24. > :05:29.during the course of today, wall-to-wall sunshine. The quote is

:05:30. > :05:34.burning even Shetland. The high pressure that has been responsible

:05:35. > :05:38.for this begins to move away, allowing visible pressure to come in

:05:39. > :05:41.from the new continent. Usually we take our winner from the Atlantic

:05:42. > :05:46.but for the next few days we will see some rain coming in from the

:05:47. > :05:50.North Sea. Through tonight we have some fine evening sunshine on offer,

:05:51. > :05:57.we will see Mr" return to the Northern Isles in eastern areas in

:05:58. > :06:00.the East Coast. Some rain will show its hand across the east by the end

:06:01. > :06:04.of the night. Temperatures will be allowed five degrees and the wind on

:06:05. > :06:11.the call will be on the light side but gusty at pains in coastal areas.

:06:12. > :06:15.Calder, too, across the Northwest. There will be a largely dry start in

:06:16. > :06:19.the North with outbreaks of rain pushing in close eastern Scotland,

:06:20. > :06:24.extending through the central lowlands. As it moves west it will

:06:25. > :06:27.become late and patchy in nature. The driest conditions with easy

:06:28. > :06:35.sunshine will be across the north-west Highlands. Shetland is

:06:36. > :06:38.not feeling too badly. It will tend to become cloudy across many parts

:06:39. > :06:43.of the country. Temperatures fuming cool across eastern areas under that

:06:44. > :06:47.cloud and rain, ten or 11 degrees. Not feeling too bad. The outlook for

:06:48. > :06:49.the week is it will stay predominantly unsettled the week is

:06:50. > :06:51.it will stay predominantly unsettled with rain at times.

:06:52. > :06:56.And that's all from Reporting Scotland for now. I'll be back with

:06:57. > :07:00.the late bulletin just after the ten o'clock news. Until then, goodbye.
