:00:17. > :00:22.Will Good evening. The head of the CBI in Scotland is to step down at

:00:23. > :00:25.the end of the year. The announcement about Iain McMillan's

:00:26. > :00:29.future comes just days after the business lobby group said it would

:00:30. > :00:31.try to reverse its position as an official campaign opposed to

:00:32. > :00:36.Scottish independence. Laura Maxwell reports.

:00:37. > :00:42.Scottish independence. Laura Maxwell Iain McMillan has led the CBI for

:00:43. > :00:58.almost two decades. In a statement the CBI said he is planning to

:00:59. > :01:02.retire before the end of 2014. The announcement comes at a difficult

:01:03. > :01:07.time for the group. Last week it registered as an official campaign

:01:08. > :01:16.against independence. The move saw several key Scottish institutions

:01:17. > :01:22.resign or suspend their memberships. On Friday there was a U-turn. The

:01:23. > :01:26.CBI announced it no longer wanted to be considered an official

:01:27. > :01:32.campaigning group. Pro-independence businesses say the news comes as no

:01:33. > :01:37.surprise. I think he is being made a scapegoat here and clearly we will

:01:38. > :01:42.have to look at where blame properly lies. As I understand it the

:01:43. > :01:46.decision has been made to campaign against Scottish independence at the

:01:47. > :01:53.approval of the Council of CBI Scotland. Clearly the decision has

:01:54. > :02:00.been in Dorset by the board. -- endorsed. The CBI has denied any

:02:01. > :02:05.link between the independence issue and today's announcement.

:02:06. > :02:08.Scots have joined the huge crowds to celebrate Pope John Paul II being

:02:09. > :02:12.made a saint. Scotland has a special connection to the Polish pontiff. In

:02:13. > :02:18.1982 he became the first ever to visit here. Andreas Wolff has sent

:02:19. > :02:22.this report from Rome. You could have thought there was a

:02:23. > :02:27.rock concert as masses of people were heading for St Peter's Square

:02:28. > :02:32.this morning. Some left as early as 2am, others decided to sleep in the

:02:33. > :02:40.streets nearby, to be in time for two former hopes being declared a

:02:41. > :02:44.saint. Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul II are being canonised at the

:02:45. > :02:56.same time will stop this is also the first time that two Popes, are

:02:57. > :03:01.present at the canonisation. There have been questions about the

:03:02. > :03:05.canonisation because of Pope John Paul's handling of the abuse scandal

:03:06. > :03:09.but that was not on the minds of people here. It was a brilliant

:03:10. > :03:13.atmosphere, singing through the tunnel, lots of different things

:03:14. > :03:20.happening. Just being there was amazing. It was pretty incredible,

:03:21. > :03:24.just being here, building up the image of what it was going to be

:03:25. > :03:37.like and just seeing it happen. Pope John Paul second was the second

:03:38. > :03:46.longest Pope in history. At this church in Partick they have

:03:47. > :03:55.also been following events closely. You just feel proud that he was your

:03:56. > :04:02.native Pope. John Paul for me was the number one Polish man. He is

:04:03. > :04:06.holy, it is true. It is a great day and we are happy to be here with all

:04:07. > :04:35.of our friends in church and all of our parents will stop -- our parents

:04:36. > :04:38.and friends. Police are investigating a complaint

:04:39. > :04:39.from a Rangers shareholder against the football club's chief executive,

:04:40. > :04:42.Graham Wallace -- seen here the football club's chief executive,

:04:43. > :04:46.right. The complaint follows unrest among some shareholders and fans --

:04:47. > :04:49.over statements made by Mr Wallace regarding the club's finances. In

:04:50. > :04:51.the Premiership today -- Hibs lost two - one to Hearts in the capital

:04:52. > :05:10.derby match at Easter Road. Good evening. A day of contrast with

:05:11. > :05:21.lovely warm sunshine across western Scotland. Tonight it is almost a

:05:22. > :05:26.North -South split. Cloudy with patchy rain edging into the south

:05:27. > :05:30.and some mist patches forming. Tomorrow morning that is how it

:05:31. > :05:36.really starts off, cloudy, bits and pieces of rain and drizzle. Sunshine

:05:37. > :05:40.in the North. The rain in the South will gradually die away, some

:05:41. > :05:46.brightness towards the western borders, some mist patches lingering

:05:47. > :05:50.to the east. Warm sunshine for the north-west, potentially up to 20,

:05:51. > :05:53.perhaps 21 Celsius. A much better day to come for the north-east as

:05:54. > :06:13.well. Winds will be Good evening. After an unsettled

:06:14. > :06:17.weekend, the same culprit will be staying with us through the early

:06:18. > :06:23.part of the new week. No pressure is set to continue producing a fair

:06:24. > :06:25.number of showers across England and Wales. Still some hefty ones to
