:00:22. > :00:39.in and married name. This was her first public appearance in court
:00:40. > :00:44.since she was charged with her son Mikaeel's murder. On the 16th of
:00:45. > :00:48.January, Mrs Adekoya had called the police and reported her little boy
:00:49. > :00:51.missing, saying she thought he had climbed onto a stool and unlock the
:00:52. > :00:56.front door of her Edinburgh flat. The Crown says she did this knowing
:00:57. > :01:00.he was already dead. These were the pictures of hundreds of Mikaeel's
:01:01. > :01:08.neighbours, members of the public, police and coastguards who searched
:01:09. > :01:13.for the three-year-old. Then the news that was dreaded. Mikaeel's
:01:14. > :01:16.body had been found 25 miles away in a woodland near Kirkcaldy, near a
:01:17. > :01:21.house Mikaeel had lived in with his family months before. I can confirm
:01:22. > :01:27.that we have recovered the body of a young boy in Fife, shortly before
:01:28. > :01:33.midnight. 34-year-old Rosdeep Adekoya stood in the dock dressed

:01:56. > :01:58.head and body in the family home between the two other 15th of
:01:59. > :02:05.January. She is accused of failing to seek medical attention for
:02:06. > :02:08.Mikaeel and of murdering him. She is also accused of attempting to defeat
:02:09. > :02:13.the ends of justice by wrapping Mikaeel's body in a duvet, putting
:02:14. > :02:18.him in a suitcase and then into the boot of her car, and then driving to
:02:19. > :02:21.Kirkcaldy. Mrs Adekoya is then said to have hidden the suitcase under a
:02:22. > :02:25.bush in wetland behind the home in Fife. The case is being continued,
:02:26. > :02:27.and there will be a further hearing here at the High Court in Edinburgh
:02:28. > :02:30.on the 25th of July. MPs are calling
:02:31. > :02:32.for a public inquiry into concerns commercial pressure from oil
:02:33. > :02:34.and gas companies is putting The Commons transport select
:02:35. > :02:38.committee launched an inquiry following last year's
:02:39. > :02:42.fatal crash off Shetland. In all 20 people have been killed
:02:43. > :03:01.in offshore helicopter accidents And survived the Super Puma L2 crash
:03:02. > :03:05.off Shetland last August. Four of his colleagues died. He is still
:03:06. > :03:09.coping with the after-effects. I don't have a broken leg or a broken
:03:10. > :03:12.back or anything like that. I have very subtle injuries. I have had a
:03:13. > :03:17.constant headache since the accident. I get migraines anything
:03:18. > :03:23.up to three times per week, which cannot me out for about four days.
:03:24. > :03:27.It was the Shetland crash that spot the enquiry by MPs. 20 people in all
:03:28. > :03:30.have died in offshore helicopter accidents since 20 people in all
:03:31. > :03:35.have died in offshore helicopter accidents wants a full public
:03:36. > :03:40.enquiry to investigate if commercial pressure is putting lives at risk.
:03:41. > :03:44.Do the oil and gas companies have power that has led to cost-cutting
:03:45. > :03:48.in safety measures? Has there been another enforcement of safety
:03:49. > :03:51.regulations? Is there an openness that workers can express their
:03:52. > :03:56.concerns if they feel things are not being done correctly? There are
:03:57. > :04:00.around 100 light into the North Sea and Shetland every day, but oil and
:04:01. > :04:05.gas companies deny helicopter operators are put under unsafe
:04:06. > :04:08.pressure to make things work. If the government corporate public enquiry,
:04:09. > :04:12.we will support it, and we would get intimately involved with that
:04:13. > :04:16.process. But it is not something the oil and gas industry with support
:04:17. > :04:20.unless it was ordered? We are not asking for it, but we will support
:04:21. > :04:24.it if required. You don't think it is necessary? I didn't say that, I
:04:25. > :04:29.said we would support it if there was evidence that we needed to.
:04:30. > :04:33.Unions and relatives of those killed in the helicopter crashes have long
:04:34. > :04:37.supported a public enquiry. The UK Government says it will look at the
:04:38. > :04:39.committee's report. James Nugent says he might return offshore one
:04:40. > :04:44.day, if he feels it is safe will. Scotland's first satellite has been
:04:45. > :04:46.launched from a space centre UKube-One was built by
:04:47. > :04:49.a Glasgow-based company. It's already in orbit and it's due
:04:50. > :04:54.to separate from its Russian rocket Here's our science correspondent
:04:55. > :05:06.Kenneth Macdonald. Not quite Mission control Marielle,
:05:07. > :05:13.but even without live pictures from the cosmodrome, it felt a lot like
:05:14. > :05:16.it. I have confirmation that the satellite has launched. It is the
:05:17. > :05:19.first satellite that has been fully designed and built in Scotland, so
:05:20. > :05:23.it is a big step forward from that perspective. The other benefit of it
:05:24. > :05:30.is, it is a different type of satellite, a more off the shelf type
:05:31. > :05:34.of satellite. UKube-1 is the most advanced satellite of its kind in
:05:35. > :05:38.the world, small, but it packs in six experiment into just three
:05:39. > :05:41.metres. It will help to study things like space weather and satellite
:05:42. > :05:46.security, and give schoolchildren the chance to contact the satellite.
:05:47. > :05:49.More than that, it is blazing a trail for the Scottish space
:05:50. > :05:56.industry. The buzz has already been good for business. Today's rocket
:05:57. > :06:03.was an updated version of the one that once carried Soviet, cosmonauts
:06:04. > :06:07.into orbit. The world's first satellite and the first man in space
:06:08. > :06:11.both lifted off from the same place. Today, it was Scotland's turn.
:06:12. > :06:13.Well, it's over to Sarah Cruickshank now with the weather outlook
:06:14. > :06:25.Thank you very much. Good evening to you. It looks to stay dry through
:06:26. > :06:29.the overnight period, although it will turn fairly misty and murky
:06:30. > :06:32.across eastern parts, and that is how we start tomorrow. A lot of dry
:06:33. > :06:36.weather around, Clinton is something brighter, but also ploughed along
:06:37. > :06:40.the east coast. Towards the south-west, a dry start, and we will
:06:41. > :06:43.see the mist gradually burning back towards the east coast during the
:06:44. > :06:47.day tomorrow. We could seasoning brighter coming through, but overall
:06:48. > :06:50.Orkney and Shetland, it stays rather murky. Outbreaks of rain over
:06:51. > :06:53.Shetland through much of the day. In the north-west Highlands, a fairly
:06:54. > :06:57.dry start and also some brightness as well. That's how it stays across
:06:58. > :07:01.western Scotland through the rest of the day. Plenty of sunshine around
:07:02. > :07:04.across the Western Isles, and down towards the central belt and the
:07:05. > :07:07.south-west. Plenty of sunshine lifting the temperature tomorrow to
:07:08. > :07:11.around 22 Celsius for some parts, but there the East, it will be a
:07:12. > :07:16.touch cooler, especially around the coasts, just 17 Celsius for some
:07:17. > :07:19.places. Across Orkney and Shetland, cooler still, 13 or 14 at best, but
:07:20. > :07:21.in the sunshine, it will feel lovely, and it looks to be a lovely
:07:22. > :07:23.day for many of us. Thanks, Sarah.
:07:24. > :07:25.And that's Reporting Scotland. Our next update is during

:07:28. > :07:33.on the late team here in Glasgow through the next few days into the
:07:34. > :07:36.weekend. Hot on Saturday with thundery showers.
:07:37. > :07:42.Good evening, the rain in Rio is matching the mood, I suspect, this
:07:43. > :07:46.evening. Here, we will take a day off from the rain tomorrow, at least
:07:47. > :07:47.most of us. There
