:00:10. > :00:12.They were stranded in the Egyptian resort

:00:13. > :00:15.after flights were suspended over security concerns, but it's thought

:00:16. > :00:18.many other people from Scotland are still trying to get back home.

:00:19. > :00:31.Happy to be back. These holiday-makers arrived at Glasgow

:00:32. > :00:35.Airport just before midnight. They've been stranded in Sharm

:00:36. > :00:40.el-Sheikh since the UK Government's suspended flights on Wednesday after

:00:41. > :00:45.a suspected terrorist attack on a Russian plane Egypt. Limited flights

:00:46. > :00:49.have resumed. On their return, these passengers told of chaotic scenes at

:00:50. > :00:55.Sharm el-Sheikh airport. It is like being held as a hostage because you

:00:56. > :01:01.go five steps, and you have to go back. You go to the next bit, and

:01:02. > :01:05.they are sending you back. Everybody was upset because there was a lot of

:01:06. > :01:08.young children and parents crying because they were told to come to

:01:09. > :01:14.the airport and then to go away. It was chaotic. We were one of the

:01:15. > :01:20.lucky ones manage to get through OK. Others had no complaints. It felt

:01:21. > :01:25.so. The Egyptian people are fantastic. If you book a holiday, go

:01:26. > :01:29.to Egypt. All stranded British tourists are expected to be home

:01:30. > :01:34.within the next ten days. These holiday-makers are the lucky ones. A

:01:35. > :01:37.number of Scots who have spoken to the BBC from Sharm el-Sheikh say

:01:38. > :01:41.they don't expect if catch a flight home until next week.

:01:42. > :01:43.A 17-year-old girl has died and another three people have been

:01:44. > :01:50.injured following a crash on the Largs to Kilbirnie Road last night.

:01:51. > :01:53.A second person has been charged with murder after human remains were

:01:54. > :01:57.The remains have now been identified as those of 37-year-old Kim

:01:58. > :02:00.MacKenzie. Police Scotland said a 28-year-old woman detained on Friday

:02:01. > :02:04.A man had earlier been charged in relation to the same incident.

:02:05. > :02:06.Supporters of the two threatened Tata steel plants in North

:02:07. > :02:09.Lanarkshire have been marching in protest at the decline of the

:02:10. > :02:11.industry, after plans were announced to mothball the Motherwell and

:02:12. > :02:26.Around 300 people set off on a march through Motherwell and support of

:02:27. > :02:30.the workers at Tata steel. The companies blaming cheap Chinese

:02:31. > :02:34.imports were putting 270 Scottish jobs at risk. Workers say today's

:02:35. > :02:43.event is about trying to save those jobs. We are managing to keep the

:02:44. > :02:51.situation at Tata... The people reminded that it is families. We

:02:52. > :02:55.need this to survive. We look at the human impact on everything like

:02:56. > :03:01.that. That is what we're fighting for. A rally held in the shadow of

:03:02. > :03:06.the former steelworks plant referenced the pain this area has

:03:07. > :03:14.already felt. You see that tower in the background? In my lifetime, it

:03:15. > :03:19.has gone down. It is unacceptable that we will have no steel mills.

:03:20. > :03:22.The Scottish government has set up a task force to try to guarantee a

:03:23. > :03:26.future for these remaining plants and keep them operational with its

:03:27. > :03:30.preferred option being to find a buyer. The UK Government says it

:03:31. > :03:31.wants to work with the EU to do all it can to support the steel

:03:32. > :03:32.industry. Sport now, and Andy Murray has won

:03:33. > :03:35.his first ever semifinal He'll play Novak Djokovic or

:03:36. > :03:39.Stan Wawrinka in tomorrow's final. In Rugby's Pro 12 league,

:03:40. > :03:42.Glasgow Warriors beat Cardiff Blues Football, and,

:03:43. > :03:55.in the Scottish Premiership, Hearts closed the gap on Celtic to

:03:56. > :03:59.three points with a home win over Hamilton, and Aberdeen won for the

:04:00. > :04:01.first time in five league games. In the Championship,

:04:02. > :04:03.Rangers maintain a five point lead at the top of the

:04:04. > :04:06.table, despite a high-scoring Hibs A statue to commemorate the

:04:07. > :04:11."soldier bear" who came to Scotland after the Second World War has been

:04:12. > :04:13.unveiled in Edinburgh. The bear was adopted by Polish

:04:14. > :04:17.troops stationed in Iran in the 1940s and went

:04:18. > :04:19.into battle with them in Italy. After the war, he moved with

:04:20. > :04:22.the troops to Scotland, where he spent his later years as a popular

:04:23. > :04:25.attraction at Edinburgh Zoo. Finally, they're claiming a first,

:04:26. > :04:27.bagpipes in space! American astronaut Kjell Lindgren

:04:28. > :04:33.played Amazing Grace on a set of Scottish-made pipes on the

:04:34. > :04:36.International Space Station to pay The pipes were made for Mr Lindgren

:04:37. > :04:45.at McCallum Bagpipes in Kilmarnock. Well, it's over to Christopher now

:04:46. > :04:55.with the weather outlook Thank you and good evening. It was

:04:56. > :05:00.fairly wet across the country today. The picture tonight from

:05:01. > :05:05.weather Watch Stewart. Pretty autumnal colours but it was wet here

:05:06. > :05:10.as well. Tonight, dry. The rain clears away with clear spells, so

:05:11. > :05:15.chilly. Some showers merging at times in the north-west but

:05:16. > :05:22.overnight largely dry at chilly for some, certainly across the rural

:05:23. > :05:24.parts of Grampian. Five to seven Celsius in the cities. The winds

:05:25. > :05:28.picking up by dawn, initially Celsius in the cities. The winds

:05:29. > :05:34.but rain pushing in across the south and south-west and by 11am, wet

:05:35. > :05:39.through Don Friesen Galloway. Further it east, still reasonably

:05:40. > :05:42.dry at cloudy. Further north, some brightness coming through at this

:05:43. > :05:50.point but clouding over later. I similar story for the far north. A

:05:51. > :05:54.few showers. Through the afternoon, the rain tracks northwards but

:05:55. > :05:58.thanks to the southerly winds, which are strong, a bit of shelter through

:05:59. > :06:04.the central belt so not as wet and windy. Through the UK, you can see

:06:05. > :06:12.largely dry. On the mild side, but, still, windy. Afternoon and the rain

:06:13. > :06:19.gets going, it will be wet for everyone. The winds strengthen

:06:20. > :06:25.further, veering towards the West, Gailes at times. Monday, the wet and

:06:26. > :06:32.windy theme continues. Pretty wet, but clearing through. Later on, a

:06:33. > :06:33.second band of rain on the way in. That is the forecast for now.

:06:34. > :06:36.Our next update is tomorrow evening at 6:10pm.

:06:37. > :06:39.Until then, from everyone here, enjoy the rest
