:00:49. > :00:53.much of the day, there has been concern about Cantor and
:00:54. > :00:57.individually further upstream. Warnings had been issued at both of
:00:58. > :01:04.those relatively small communities. But this evening, the attention is
:01:05. > :01:09.focused here. Not so much because of the eminent risk of flooding, but
:01:10. > :01:14.because if that flooding does happen, it is a huge area to
:01:15. > :01:20.evacuate. Police and other services have been knocking on doors here and
:01:21. > :01:24.inviting people to consider the possibility of evacuating their
:01:25. > :01:31.homes. The concern is that there is a big body of water heading down
:01:32. > :01:43.stream. It is high tide in the next couple of hours in the North Sea
:01:44. > :01:45.about half an a mile in that direction. A lot of concern about

:02:17. > :02:18.until tomorrow morning. A familiar sight this winter,
:02:19. > :02:26.but no less frightening. Rampaging floodwaters, this time
:02:27. > :02:32.through an Aberdeenshire village. Dealing with such conditions has
:02:33. > :02:36.tested people's resource, Whether it is ferrying the weekly
:02:37. > :02:49.shop or guests for a local B, they are finding ways
:02:50. > :02:51.round being cut off. We are having to get
:02:52. > :02:56.up a bit earlier. Normally, I have been running home,
:02:57. > :02:59.which is an hour, but today, very wet, so I took
:03:00. > :03:02.the opportunity of a lift. We are making sure that elderly
:03:03. > :03:04.residents are provided It is lovely to see the village
:03:05. > :03:13.pulling together so well. Work to fix the bridge continues
:03:14. > :03:20.in difficult conditions. unaffected,
:03:21. > :03:22.insist those responsible. Not far away, the rising River Dee
:03:23. > :03:25.is a concern for those trying In affected areas across
:03:26. > :03:31.the country, a huge effort to repair All the while, life is becoming
:03:32. > :03:38.increasingly difficult and, at times, impossible for those out
:03:39. > :03:45.on the roads. The more immediate consequence
:03:46. > :03:47.of the predicted heavy rain. Here in Perth, flood defences have
:03:48. > :03:50.already been tested to their limits. The water level reaching its highest
:03:51. > :03:56.point since 2004. With the rain falling
:03:57. > :03:59.and the River Tay due to peak overnight, this is once again
:04:00. > :04:04.a city on its guard. The same applies further along
:04:05. > :04:08.the river, where the sandbags are in place, fingers crossed,
:04:09. > :04:10.waiting to see what Police have described the murder
:04:11. > :04:17.of an 82-year-old woman in her own home as a brutal

:04:57. > :04:59.on Tuesday and she said she was planning to get
:05:00. > :05:02.the bus into town and visit Later that day, the neighbour became
:05:03. > :05:05.concerned because they hadn't When they called in,
:05:06. > :05:08.they found her dead. Detectives say it is key
:05:09. > :05:16.to establish her movements. My number one priority is to reduce
:05:17. > :05:26.that 12 hours to aim - a more focused time period,
:05:27. > :05:29.and I'm confident we can do quickly by establishing
:05:30. > :05:32.whether Mary left her house, and by speaking to as many people
:05:33. > :05:35.as possible, and CCTV enquiries That will give us an idea
:05:36. > :05:38.of whether Mary left the flat. Mary spent the festive period

:06:10. > :06:12.or who is responsible Extra patrols remain in the area
:06:13. > :06:16.this evening as detectives try to work out who carried out this
