:00:08. > :00:12.Detectives and forensic experts have been searching at an Edinburgh golf

:00:13. > :00:13.course after human remains were found.

:00:14. > :00:15.Police were called to nearby Gogar Mount House last Saturday

:00:16. > :00:19.It is understood body parts have now been found

:00:20. > :00:22.So far police won't say if this is a murder inquiry.

:00:23. > :00:41.Almost a week since human remains were found here, yet on this a frost

:00:42. > :00:48.covered golf course, police continued to work. It is not as a

:00:49. > :00:52.caretaker here raised the alarm after discovering a skull on the

:00:53. > :00:56.grounds. The 19th century grounds is close to the airport. Other body

:00:57. > :01:06.parts were found on the edge of the golf course. The club say they know

:01:07. > :01:12.little of what has happened. We closed the top field. Other than

:01:13. > :01:17.that, we are just doing but the police tell us. The golfers played

:01:18. > :01:22.on as police continued with their investigation. We were told we could

:01:23. > :01:28.not use the top half of the course. The part that is near the main road.

:01:29. > :01:33.We were told not to go there at all. Forensic teams were here earlier in

:01:34. > :01:37.the week, but behind me is not a forensic tent, but where police are

:01:38. > :01:41.carrying on with their investigation. I am told today that

:01:42. > :01:47.divers are going into the periphery of the golf course. So far, police

:01:48. > :01:52.will not say if this is a murder investigation, and they will not

:01:53. > :02:00.comment on the remains or how long they have been here. Reconstruction

:02:01. > :02:06.efforts led to a murder investigation over an unsolved

:02:07. > :02:10.mystery in the spring of 2013. By this afternoon, the police were gone

:02:11. > :02:14.and the golf was fully opened. There has been speculation about the

:02:15. > :02:15.remains, but police say any update could take until the end of next

:02:16. > :02:19.week. One week ago, the residents

:02:20. > :02:21.of Port Elphinstone in Aberdeenshire were recovering from a night

:02:22. > :02:24.of flooding, after the River Don burst its banks and raged

:02:25. > :02:26.through their homes. Now they've begun the long process

:02:27. > :02:29.of returning their water sodden Our reporter John McManus has been

:02:30. > :02:45.back to speak to some of them. This is what Port Elphinstone faced

:02:46. > :02:49.one week ago. Water, unstoppable, crashing through that town, families

:02:50. > :02:55.fleeing their homes with what ever they could take, and by any means

:02:56. > :02:59.possible. What a difference a week makes. The washer is gone, and over

:03:00. > :03:03.the last week, people have been coming back into their homes to

:03:04. > :03:06.assess the damage to their goods and property. The clean-up and

:03:07. > :03:11.refurbishment is also underway, but that is a process that is going to

:03:12. > :03:17.take a long time. Nobody will be staying here tonight. There fled

:03:18. > :03:21.damaged possessions thrown out, the interiors gutted. The floodwater

:03:22. > :03:27.sped past the front of this house, but did act up at the rear. By ten

:03:28. > :03:32.o'clock, 11 o'clock, when it burst its banks, that is when it started

:03:33. > :03:38.to come down the road and come in here. You can see the level it

:03:39. > :03:43.reached. The community have rallied around, donating materials and food

:03:44. > :03:54.to the British lesion centre. Giving to someone in need is what we are

:03:55. > :03:59.hearing, and that is strange, because it is them that are in need.

:04:00. > :04:05.We have givers instead of takers. We're asking them to take this time

:04:06. > :04:16.so that they get back on their feet they can give later. Here, at a

:04:17. > :04:24.business park, the -- is a business park... There was a collapse. We

:04:25. > :04:29.just think that excess water came in. It has been a tough seven days

:04:30. > :04:32.for people in Port Elphinstone and many other towns across North East

:04:33. > :04:37.Scotland. They are hoping that they flood defenses that we have seen

:04:38. > :04:47.behind me on the River Don will help another week from hell from

:04:48. > :04:53.happening again. -- help. Another week of hell from happening again.

:04:54. > :04:55.Ministers have confirmed plans for a high-speed rail link

:04:56. > :04:58.between Glasgow and Edinburgh have been shelved while a cross-border

:04:59. > :05:01.The Scottish government had said in 2012 they would push ahead

:05:02. > :05:03.with plans seen 140mph trains linking the cities.

:05:04. > :05:06.However, transport minister Derek Mackay has now said it is "not

:05:07. > :05:08.possible to progress planning" until a cross-border link

:05:09. > :05:11.Liberal Democrat MSP Tavish Scott says the government were unusually

:05:12. > :05:16.The senior officer in overall charge of policing football in Scotland

:05:17. > :05:19.says he fears it's only a matter of time before someone is injured

:05:20. > :05:24.It follows a rash of such incidents, which have led to calls for clubs

:05:25. > :05:26.to be held responsible for the actions of their fans.

:05:27. > :05:28.Our Home Affairs Correspondent, Reevel Alderson reports.

:05:29. > :05:35.Flares, when Dundee United were the visitors at lassies and's Scottish

:05:36. > :05:42.cup, one of a series of such incidents which have been condemned

:05:43. > :05:46.as a reckless by the police. Flares, also, when hearts were playing hits

:05:47. > :05:54.on a something which concerns senior police. Flares and pyrotechnics are

:05:55. > :05:59.a huge risk. Probably the greatest risk that we come to face. In my

:06:00. > :06:06.view, it is only a matter of time until someone is seriously injured

:06:07. > :06:13.as a consequence of a act that is irresponsible. These incidents are

:06:14. > :06:19.carried out by a small minority. So far, 66 people have been arrested in

:06:20. > :06:25.incidents like these, but so far, the season, pyrotechnics have been

:06:26. > :06:33.thrown, some involving one then -- more than one missile. As a Celtic

:06:34. > :06:37.prepare to play Dundee United this evening, investigations were still

:06:38. > :06:42.under way at a previous cup match, where a number of players were set

:06:43. > :06:48.off. Some supporters are concerned about this growing trend. It is only

:06:49. > :06:52.one, two or three at most that any football game, and it probably takes

:06:53. > :06:55.that amount of people to bring the flares along and causes the month of

:06:56. > :07:00.disruption when you have tens of thousands of people at a game, but

:07:01. > :07:06.it is inevitably small, not as big as it is elsewhere, but is still a

:07:07. > :07:10.new and unwelcome issue in Scotland the ball. One solution that is being

:07:11. > :07:14.discussed by the football authorities could be for clubs to

:07:15. > :07:21.face sanctions if their fans misbehave. If fans or -- of teams

:07:22. > :07:28.have points deducted, I think self-regulation will look after the

:07:29. > :07:32.club and make sure that supporters do not behave badly if it affects

:07:33. > :07:36.their team. But this idea of strict liability have had a lukewarm

:07:37. > :07:41.response from the clubs themselves. Football now and Celtic moved six

:07:42. > :07:44.points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership

:07:45. > :07:46.after a win over Dundee United Leigh Griffiths scored his 50th

:07:47. > :07:50.and 51st goal for the Glasgow side. The striker opened the scoring

:07:51. > :07:53.with a low drive midway United pulled a goal back before

:07:54. > :07:56.Celtic scored a third with Kris Commons volleying

:07:57. > :08:11.home a fourth. Let's get the weekend weather

:08:12. > :08:18.forecast. I think the word cold sums things up! Yes, many would have seen

:08:19. > :08:22.sunshine today but his clear skies by day, by night mean it's will be

:08:23. > :08:28.very cold indeed, and is still a few wintry showers around. There is a be

:08:29. > :08:33.aware warning in force for some icy patches. Still a few wintry showers

:08:34. > :08:39.around and foremost a dry but cold start. The temperatures will still

:08:40. > :08:43.be below freezing for most but largely dry away from the North East

:08:44. > :08:48.where those showers will continue. Winds are fairly late but there is a

:08:49. > :08:52.change on the way as they had through the course of the morning.

:08:53. > :08:56.After a bright, sunny start, the cloud will start to increase from

:08:57. > :09:01.the West and will cloud over across western parts of the country as we

:09:02. > :09:06.head through Saturday. Starting sunny on Sunday, but it could behave

:09:07. > :09:11.yet times. South of the border, plenty of sunshine to the heart of

:09:12. > :09:15.England, but temperature wise, on the low side for us here in

:09:16. > :09:22.Scotland, and you will notice this weather front, which will bring some

:09:23. > :09:29.rain and snow on Saturday evening and perhaps a few centimetres right

:09:30. > :09:32.down to low levels. If we pull out, we can see the wintry weather

:09:33. > :09:38.stretching all the way down towards the Midlands, perhaps as far as

:09:39. > :09:42.Oxfordshire. A wintry night comes Saturday. Sunday, high pressure

:09:43. > :09:49.across the near content and weather fronts trying to arrive, but

:09:50. > :09:54.probably another... Wintry at times and still quite chilly, but

:09:55. > :09:58.temperature wise, around six agrees if we are lucky in the far

:09:59. > :10:02.northwest. That is the forecast. Enjoy your weekend.
