:00:00. > :00:00.details of the deal in Brussels. You can follow it on the BBC News

:00:00. > :00:00.Channel. That's all from us, now on BBC1,

:00:00. > :00:18.its time for the news where you are. As you've just heard,

:00:19. > :00:22.EU leaders have unanimously agreed a deal

:00:23. > :00:24.in Brussels which will pave the way The agreement clears the way

:00:25. > :00:31.for David Cameron to return immediately to London and call

:00:32. > :00:33.a special Cabinet meeting tomorrow There's been swift

:00:34. > :00:47.reaction here in Scotland. Scotland's main parties all back

:00:48. > :00:52.staying in the EU whilst Ukip and some individual want out of the EU.

:00:53. > :00:54.We'll have more on that in our coverage on line

:00:55. > :01:06.The Scottish and UK governments have been at the Treasury in London,

:01:07. > :01:09.continuing to thrash out a deal on a financial settlement

:01:10. > :01:10.to underpin new powers for the Scottish Parliament.

:01:11. > :01:13.Both sides say progress has been made and talks will continue behind

:01:14. > :01:28.I've had a productive meeting with the Treasury but we've not yet

:01:29. > :01:32.managed to reach an overall agreement that could be secured and

:01:33. > :01:36.supported by both governments. We will continue to discuss the

:01:37. > :01:41.standing issues and further work will be undertaken by officials in

:01:42. > :01:47.the course of the next few days. Today's talks looks at the number of

:01:48. > :01:51.areas. Officials from both the Scottish and UK governments are

:01:52. > :01:54.looking at these over the weekend and I hope that they will come up

:01:55. > :01:56.with a productive solution which will allow those steel to finally be

:01:57. > :01:59.done. The Forth Road Bridge will fully

:02:00. > :02:01.reopen to all traffic this weekend. It's 11 weeks since a crack forced

:02:02. > :02:04.the main route between Fife While cars and light vehicles have

:02:05. > :02:09.been allowed back on the bridge since Christmas, heavier lorries

:02:10. > :02:21.will be able to use the crossing. Finally, after two and a half

:02:22. > :02:31.months, restrictions on the bridge are set to be a thing of the past.

:02:32. > :02:32.The final repair, jacking up a 400 tonne section of carriageway to

:02:33. > :02:38.allow strengthening cables to take tonne section of carriageway to

:02:39. > :02:43.the weight. Once completed, HGVs will be welcome at any time. This

:02:44. > :02:47.will be able to carry the will be welcome at any time. This

:02:48. > :02:52.generated by the traffic. A full bridge inspection during December

:02:53. > :02:55.was done and no significant structural defects were found so we

:02:56. > :03:03.are absolutely confident the bridge can now be reopened to heavy

:03:04. > :03:07.vehicles. The saga began at the beginning of December, causing its

:03:08. > :03:11.complete closure. After three weeks, cars and vans were allowed back on

:03:12. > :03:20.following temporary repairs. Earlier this month, and night-time window

:03:21. > :03:24.was open for HGVs. The latest update, a full reopening at 11

:03:25. > :03:29.o'clock tomorrow night. As always, the weather has played a big part in

:03:30. > :03:33.the timetable for bridge repairs. Six of the last eight days in

:03:34. > :03:40.January were lost as storms battered the country. Since then, engineers

:03:41. > :03:44.have been able to work unhindered. Part of the reason why poorly Phil

:03:45. > :03:50.Henderson can once again start planning to use the shortest route

:03:51. > :03:54.for journeys to the North. From a business point of view, has cost us

:03:55. > :04:00.action money having to go around the long way rather than just go over

:04:01. > :04:03.the bridge. It's good that it will now be reopened. It's just a pity it

:04:04. > :04:11.has taken us two months to get there. The Road haulage Association

:04:12. > :04:16.estimates the extra cost at eight to 12,000 extra pounds a week for their

:04:17. > :04:19.members. We will continue to talk to the sector about the impact that

:04:20. > :04:24.disruptions had on them but as transport Minister, in one thing

:04:25. > :04:29.they asked me to do is fix the bridge and get it open. Here we are,

:04:30. > :04:33.just one day away from it being fully open to that sector. Teddy to

:04:34. > :04:38.take the full string of East Coast traffic again until its new

:04:39. > :04:40.neighbour is completed. -- ready to take.

:04:41. > :04:43.Prosecutors have failed in a bid to bring a man to trial

:04:44. > :04:46.for the second time for the murder of a Lanarkshire woman.

:04:47. > :04:48.Francis Auld was acquitted of the murder of Amanda Duffy

:04:49. > :04:52.Three judges rejected an attempt by prosecutors to use so-called

:04:53. > :04:54."double jeopardy" legislation to submit new evidence.

:04:55. > :05:04.Amanda Duffy was on her way home from a night out.

:05:05. > :05:10.Her badly beaten body was discovered on wasteland near a car

:05:11. > :05:14.19-year-old Francis Auld was acquitted of murder

:05:15. > :05:41.Double jeopardy changed in 2011, until then someone couldn't be tried

:05:42. > :05:50.twice for the same offence. Another man is due to go on trial for the

:05:51. > :05:51.murder of a waiter in 1998. The Francis Auld is the third time

:05:52. > :05:53.double jeopardy has been used. Prosecutors had to show that

:05:54. > :05:55.compelling new evidence had come to light that taken

:05:56. > :05:57.against the evidence against the original trial may have

:05:58. > :05:59.led the jury to convey. Prosecutors said that Francis Auld

:06:00. > :06:02.had admitted to killing Amanda Duffy Francis Auld's lawyers issued a

:06:03. > :06:18.statement saying he was pleased. Amanda Duffy's family had come

:06:19. > :06:21.to court for the hearing. This is the first time a double

:06:22. > :06:26.jeopardy hearing had been rejected. Today's hearing lasted only a few

:06:27. > :06:29.minutes. Her family left court

:06:30. > :06:30.to upset to speak. This route to a retrial

:06:31. > :06:41.is now closed for them. Judges have rejected a legal

:06:42. > :06:43.challenge, which would have forced Scotland's senior law officer

:06:44. > :06:46.to publish guidance over prosecution The case was brought by Gordon Ross,

:06:47. > :06:49.a retired TV producer He was concerned that anyone

:06:50. > :06:53.who helped him to end his life But in their judgement the Court

:06:54. > :06:57.of Session said it would only be a crime, if the act of assistance

:06:58. > :07:00.were the immediate and direct cause One of the North Sea's leading oil

:07:01. > :07:06.services firms is cutting the pay of around a third

:07:07. > :07:09.of its contractors. It's the third such move

:07:10. > :07:11.by the Aberdeen-based Wood Group PSN The cuts in pay rates amount

:07:12. > :07:17.to an average of nine per cent. The company says they are due

:07:18. > :07:20.to the challenges affecting the oil Police are urging anyone

:07:21. > :07:25.going into the hills in the Ben Nevis area to report

:07:26. > :07:28.anything that might help in the search for the missing

:07:29. > :07:30.Bradford couple, Tim Newton Rescue teams were unable

:07:31. > :07:34.to renew their efforts today The climbers haven't been

:07:35. > :07:41.seen since last weekend. Rugby and there were two games

:07:42. > :07:44.in the Guinness pro-12 tonight In Cardiff, it was a tight match

:07:45. > :07:48.between the hosts Ospreys But Ospreys came out

:07:49. > :07:51.on top 19 points to 13. And at Rugby park in

:07:52. > :08:15.Kilmarnock Glasgow Warriorswere Showery conditions tonight. Fairly

:08:16. > :08:19.windy and in fact, Morris the same through the weekend. It will be cold

:08:20. > :08:25.and some those showers in rain and snow. We have a be aware warning

:08:26. > :08:30.across north-western parts of the country. Through the central belt

:08:31. > :08:38.and South, showers are likely to be of rain. Drier across the

:08:39. > :08:43.north-east, some clearer conditions and frost. Tomorrow morning, fairly

:08:44. > :08:48.showery across the country. It is from Western Lee winds driving them

:08:49. > :08:57.through. Some sleet to load levels, -- low levels. Across the

:08:58. > :09:03.north-east, drier and brighter. Through Saturday, we hold onto that

:09:04. > :09:08.showery windy theme. Across the south-west, showers managing for

:09:09. > :09:15.longer spells of rain. Across the North West, where we have that snow,

:09:16. > :09:22.difficult conditions on the road. We have this weather front splitting

:09:23. > :09:29.the UK in half. We are to the north of it, in the colder air mass.

:09:30. > :09:36.Saturday evening, winds continuing to blow, they will be strong and

:09:37. > :09:41.showery. Sunday, the weather front still with us. We are still in the

:09:42. > :09:46.colder air mass. Showers are little less frequent. Not dry by any sense

:09:47. > :09:52.and certainly fairly frequent in the northern Northwest. Brighter weather

:09:53. > :09:54.more likely in the East. Feeling cool, especially in the winter.

:09:55. > :10:00.But, from everyone on the late team here in Glasgow and around
