:02:18. > :02:21.The atrocity led to the introduction of some of the strictest firearms

:02:22. > :02:25.There are no official plans to mark the anniversary, but parents of some

:02:26. > :02:28.of those who died have been reflecting on the impact

:02:29. > :02:31.Among them is Isabel Wilson, who lost her five-year-old daughter

:02:32. > :02:35.She's been speaking to Jackie Bird and, began by recalling

:02:36. > :02:37.what happened when she got to the school that day.

:02:38. > :02:40.We were taken to the staff room in the primary school and then

:02:41. > :02:44.that was it, that was the beginning of the longest wait of my life.

:02:45. > :02:52.The police would come in and call out the name and a couple

:02:53. > :02:54.Now, at that point I made an error of judgment.

:02:55. > :02:57.I thought the people who were being called out

:02:58. > :03:01.were perhaps the people for whom the news was worse.

:03:02. > :03:05.I do not think it dawned on me until later in the process that

:03:06. > :03:07.actually they were calling out the families of the injured pupils

:03:08. > :03:21.I think at that point it began to dawn on me that we were

:03:22. > :03:24.the people who would have the worst news and they were saving

:03:25. > :03:28.You learned later she had been taken from the gym hall alive -

:03:29. > :03:34.I was able to speak to the ambulance, not the ambulance

:03:35. > :03:48.driver, the paramedic who was with her.

:03:55. > :03:57.I suppose it is a parent's worst nightmare that your child will be

:03:58. > :04:00.frightened and wanting you with them and you do not appear.

:04:01. > :04:03.Someone had had the presence of mind to leave an auxiliary or even

:04:04. > :04:15.a cleaning lady and to ask her to be with my daughter when she died.

:04:16. > :04:19.Despite the fact she was deeply unconscious, it matters the fact

:04:20. > :04:30.I find that in social settings if I announce myself as the parent

:04:31. > :04:34.of a Dunblane child, of a murdered Dunblane child,

:04:35. > :04:39.then I feel guilty, I feel responsible for having spoiled

:04:40. > :04:42.a social occasion, or for having made someone feel badly

:04:43. > :04:51.The hardest thing is with people that you know you are going

:04:52. > :04:54.to have a relationship with, for example new neighbours

:04:55. > :04:59.or friends or colleagues, and you know at some point

:05:00. > :05:02.you will have to tell them and you are desperately trying

:05:03. > :05:09.to think of a way to make it all right for them.

:05:10. > :05:10.The irrationality of that is staggering,

:05:11. > :05:21.Sometimes I have asked people to pass the information on for me,

:05:22. > :05:26.and that smoothes it over a bit and that is easier for me.

:05:27. > :05:29.On the first anniversary of the shooting in Dunblane people

:05:30. > :05:32.all over Dunblane lit candles and put them in their windows

:05:33. > :05:38.and it was so beautiful, such a simple gesture of support.

:05:39. > :05:41.So what we do now is we have a lantern in our back garden

:05:42. > :05:46.and we light it from dawn to dusk on the 13th.

:05:47. > :05:51.Sometimes the candle burns right through until the next morning.

:05:52. > :05:55.I like to think that she can see it, that she knows that I am there.

:05:56. > :06:01.something of great value, something of great joy that has been
