:00:00. > :00:10.Now on BBC One its time for the news where you are.

:00:11. > :00:13.Parents in Edinburgh have been talking about the challenges

:00:14. > :00:16.they face in the week ahead, with 17 schools in the capital

:00:17. > :00:19.They've been shut because of concerns over construction safety.

:00:20. > :00:32.This afternoon this family had all the superheroes out for

:00:33. > :00:34.nine-year-old Chi who has cerebral palsy.

:00:35. > :00:39.With his special needs school being one of the 17 schools, and Council

:00:40. > :00:43.has closed until further notice, it has been a very stressful weekend

:00:44. > :00:47.trying to organise childcare. His mother and father both work.

:00:48. > :00:51.That is finding the appropriate options. We have no understanding at

:00:52. > :00:56.all at this point as to how long this will go on for. The word

:00:57. > :00:59.indefinitely has been used on the website, which is a worry. What does

:01:00. > :01:03.that mean? It is not sustainable and it is

:01:04. > :01:08.difficult, especially coming in after the Easter break when we have

:01:09. > :01:14.had to take some time off. Whether that will be unpaid leave or annual

:01:15. > :01:18.leave, I have yet to find out? The Edinburgh Schools Partnership

:01:19. > :01:23.who managed to schools have been in meetings today. It was revealed

:01:24. > :01:26.yesterday that missing header ties at St Peter's primary and Oxgangs

:01:27. > :01:29.Primary had prompted the council to shut down also begin School built

:01:30. > :01:33.under the same private finance agreement. And Oxgangs, these

:01:34. > :01:36.parents were doing their best to keep their prime one daughter from

:01:37. > :01:42.worrying about what will now happen at her school. Oxgangs Primary was

:01:43. > :01:46.close just before the holidays for remedial work on all problems and it

:01:47. > :01:51.should have reopened tomorrow. I do not have confidence now. We had

:01:52. > :01:56.an issue one, now it is an issue too, how other many issues will be?

:01:57. > :02:00.They have had the Easter holidays, how they could find out that one

:02:01. > :02:05.day, I do not know. When the ball collapsed in January,

:02:06. > :02:09.period started by shocking enough. But as one said to me, had it not

:02:10. > :02:12.period started by shocking enough. happened, when with his father

:02:13. > :02:16.safety issues come to light? Questions are now being asked as to

:02:17. > :02:18.why they were not spotted when these buildings were being completed.

:02:19. > :02:22.Aileen Clarke, Reporting Scotland, Edinburgh.

:02:23. > :02:24.All four of Scotland's party leaders have now

:02:25. > :02:27.Politicians here have been reacting in the wake

:02:28. > :02:30.of the Panama Papers scandal, which saw the Prime Minister publish

:02:31. > :02:32.tax details after being criticised for having an offshore account.

:02:33. > :02:37.Our political correspondent Andrew Kerr reports.

:02:38. > :02:44.In black-and-white, the SNP leader's tax return. There had been calls for

:02:45. > :02:47.Nicola Sturgeon to publish it after the Scottish Labour Leader released

:02:48. > :02:52.her study. Ms Sturgeon was happy to do so.

:02:53. > :02:56.The more transparency we have, the better, might only income is my

:02:57. > :03:00.salary. It is a very good one but it is all I have got to declare on my

:03:01. > :03:05.tax return. I will put it out there and people can look at it. I think

:03:06. > :03:07.all politicians, certainly in a position of leadership, should do

:03:08. > :03:11.likewise. Another leader who published his tax

:03:12. > :03:16.returns, the Prime Minister. After being criticised for having his

:03:17. > :03:18.shares on and off shore trust. The Scottish leader published hours but

:03:19. > :03:23.the party has concerns. I am happy to publish my tax return

:03:24. > :03:28.but I do not believe that ad hoc publication is the way forward. I

:03:29. > :03:34.believe it is about finding out the right balance, so that everyone

:03:35. > :03:38.abides by the same rules. Not quite the Masters at Augusta,

:03:39. > :03:42.but the Liberal Democrat Leader in Kirkcaldy is keen of eye of the land

:03:43. > :03:46.on this issue before taking a swing. Before we go any further we have to

:03:47. > :03:51.have the cold, hard look at this, to make sure that we are not creating

:03:52. > :03:54.barriers to politics that would be unhelpful. Therefore, perhaps

:03:55. > :03:59.outside of the election period, having a proper permission to get

:04:00. > :04:03.these arrangements. Politician's goal has been the focus

:04:04. > :04:06.of the Labour Party the past few days. Today they have gone further

:04:07. > :04:10.wanting stretched actuals for companies that were handed

:04:11. > :04:13.government contracts. If a company or an individual avoids

:04:14. > :04:17.tax, they should not be able to benefit from public contracts. And

:04:18. > :04:23.so a future Labour government would make sure that no public contract

:04:24. > :04:26.could be awarded to a company or individual if they have been found

:04:27. > :04:30.to be avoiding tax. Debates about tax affairs have

:04:31. > :04:33.dominated the agenda this weekend. There will be fresh political

:04:34. > :04:37.arguments this week as the main parties release their main

:04:38. > :04:41.manifestos. Andrew Kerr, Reporting Scotland, Edinburgh.

:04:42. > :04:42.Football, and Rangers have won the Scottish

:04:43. > :04:47.The League One side had already scored an own goal before

:04:48. > :04:49.James Tavernier hit a superb volley before half-time.

:04:50. > :04:51.Rangers won't be eligible to play in this competition next season,

:04:52. > :04:54.as it is only for teams outside the Premiership.

:04:55. > :04:57.Time for the weather forecast for this evening and the start

:04:58. > :05:14.Not a bad day at all weather. Beeson spells of sunshine hear is the map

:05:15. > :05:18.from 7pm. We will hang onto bits of the rain and the far north.

:05:19. > :05:24.Elsewhere some rain before dawn for parts of the South West. Some good

:05:25. > :05:30.clear spells. We could see some sheltered rural glen stepping 2-1dC.

:05:31. > :05:33.Elsewhere, temperatures holding up between three and five Celsius. And

:05:34. > :05:38.to the start of the working week, not a bad start to the beat. Some

:05:39. > :05:41.mist and fog patches around for parts of the Highlands. Decent

:05:42. > :05:46.weather, good spells uprightness, particularly so for the North West

:05:47. > :05:50.Highlands. Elsewhere, a bit more in the way of cloud, but temperatures

:05:51. > :05:54.responding well, his 15 Celsius. That is your forecast.

:05:55. > :05:58.Our next update is just after the Ten O'Clock News.

:05:59. > :06:00.Until then, from everyone on the team here in

:06:01. > :06:02.Glasgow, enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening.
