:00:00. > :00:09.and we're back with the late news at Ten.

:00:10. > :00:15.Police in Glasgow are investigating whether carbon monoxide might be

:00:16. > :00:18.linked to the deaths of two women found dead at lunchtime.

:00:19. > :00:21.Officers discovered the bodies in a flat in the city's east end.

:00:22. > :00:22.Nearby residents were evacuated as a precaution.

:00:23. > :00:35.The police arrived at the ground floor flat here in Glasgow's

:00:36. > :00:39.Gallowgate area about midday. They got into the property and found the

:00:40. > :00:43.bodies of the two women. The police say the cause of their debts is not

:00:44. > :00:46.yet known but there doesn't appear to be subsisted circumstances. One

:00:47. > :00:50.theory is that the women died of carbon monoxide poisoning and gas

:00:51. > :00:56.engineers have been here all afternoon. A number of neighbouring

:00:57. > :00:59.plots have also been evacuated. Carbon monoxide is an odorless gas,

:01:00. > :01:05.it can be produced when gas appliances aren't working properly.

:01:06. > :01:12.The police say their investigations are continuing impulse boredom

:01:13. > :01:14.investigations will be carried out to find out the precise cause of the

:01:15. > :01:16.women's debts. An investigation is underway

:01:17. > :01:19.following a large fire at a block The blaze in the city's west end

:01:20. > :01:22.triggered a major response from the emergency services

:01:23. > :01:25.in the early hours of this morning. Firefighters rescued seventeen

:01:26. > :01:29.people from the six-storey building. The SNP leader Nicola

:01:30. > :01:30.Sturgeon has said there would "almost certainly" be

:01:31. > :01:35.a second independence referendum if the UK votes to leave the EU

:01:36. > :01:39.without Scottish backing. Meanwhile, most of her rivals

:01:40. > :01:43.in the Holyrood election campaign remain firmly opposed to revisiting

:01:44. > :01:46.Scotland's relationship Here's our political

:01:47. > :02:03.correspondent Glenn Campbell. For the first time in a Holyrood

:02:04. > :02:07.election, the SNP manifesto does not include a firm commitment to hold an

:02:08. > :02:12.independence referendum. But Nicola Sturgeon leaves open the possibility

:02:13. > :02:17.in certain circumstances as she set out in a BBC interview.

:02:18. > :02:21.If we are taken out of the EU against our will, I would like to

:02:22. > :02:23.give the people of Scotland the opportunity to protect our EU

:02:24. > :02:31.membership to give Lade look again at the question of this. I would

:02:32. > :02:34.judge the circumstances of this assured the situation awry. Nicola

:02:35. > :02:38.Sturgeon is reserving the right to call another independence referendum

:02:39. > :02:43.if she remains First Minister. During the course of this election

:02:44. > :02:45.campaign, the Labour leader Kezia Dugdale has been quoted saying that

:02:46. > :02:54.it wouldn't be inconceivable that she would back independence if the

:02:55. > :02:57.United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union but Scotland voted to

:02:58. > :03:02.stay in. But she said today she wouldn't support a run other

:03:03. > :03:07.referendum L loan over independence. In every scenario, I would vote no

:03:08. > :03:11.again. I believe the economic case for independence has fallen apart,

:03:12. > :03:17.the best way to pull in shared resources of Scotland and the United

:03:18. > :03:19.Kingdom is together. The conservative leader things the SM

:03:20. > :03:24.people have no right to demand a referendum rematch if they remain in

:03:25. > :03:27.power. There is no mandate for a second

:03:28. > :03:33.referendum, it's not their manifesto, and the exit would never

:03:34. > :03:37.be trigger for it. I stammer the majority the people of Scotland say

:03:38. > :03:42.I defend the decision we made to remain part of the United Kingdom.

:03:43. > :03:46.The Liberal Democrats leader says that talk of a stubborn referendum

:03:47. > :03:48.is oppressive. People said very clearly we want to stay in the

:03:49. > :03:54.United Kingdom. The SNP said they would respect that result and

:03:55. > :04:01.planning a new referendum campaign after the summer... The Greens said

:04:02. > :04:06.that it 1 million signature petition would be another route to another

:04:07. > :04:09.referendum. I think Ann Arbor attorney date now for second

:04:10. > :04:11.referendum would be a mistake, we should only have that referendum

:04:12. > :04:15.when the people of Scotland are ready for it. There are a range of

:04:16. > :04:22.ways of gauging of. Smaller socialist parties go into the

:04:23. > :04:30.selection demanding and a referendum rerun as soon as possible. They

:04:31. > :04:31.reject the talk of a referendum being a once in a generation

:04:32. > :04:31.perspective. At the London Marathon,

:04:32. > :04:33.Callum Hawkins has qualified for this summer's Rio Olympics

:04:34. > :04:35.after finishing eighth Callum, who's from the Kilbarchan

:04:36. > :04:39.Athletics Club in Renfrewshire, was the first British

:04:40. > :04:40.athlete to finish. Tsegai Tewelde, a Glasgow-based

:04:41. > :04:44.Eritrean who claimed asylum in Britain,

:04:45. > :04:53.will also be in Rio Callum's elder brother Derek

:04:54. > :05:05.finished 14th and may also I was feeling brilliant at halfway

:05:06. > :05:09.so I put in quite a big African in the half way, the last couple of

:05:10. > :05:11.miles, especially coming up the finish, I was hurting and just

:05:12. > :05:15.trying to hold on. I wasn't really going for time or splits, I was just

:05:16. > :05:15.running. Football, and in the

:05:16. > :05:17.Premiership, Inverness came The match turned on a second half

:05:18. > :05:31.penalty converted by Greg Tansey. The result means Kilmarnock are next

:05:32. > :05:34.to last in the table, Elsewhere, Celtic drew

:05:35. > :05:37.at home to Ross County and lead the Premiership

:05:38. > :05:38.by nine points. Dundee United's defeat

:05:39. > :05:40.means their relegation could be confirmed next week

:05:41. > :05:42.when they take on city Let's get the weather

:05:43. > :05:46.prospects for this evening - and the start of the week -

:05:47. > :05:52.and Judith is at the map. Good evening. It's been a pretty

:05:53. > :05:56.nice day with good sunny spells and we will continue to see some

:05:57. > :06:01.sunshine as we approached us. Then we will see this feature coming in

:06:02. > :06:06.across more northeastern areas. The showers will be wintry in nature,

:06:07. > :06:14.possibly even some snow in lower levels. Another good cold, brisk

:06:15. > :06:21.wind, leading to another cold night. Possibly a frost in sheltered areas

:06:22. > :06:25.as well. For the next few days, it's looking unseasonably cold with

:06:26. > :06:31.arctic air driving in across the country and not just the UK but

:06:32. > :06:36.Northern Europe as well, brought on that brisk northerly wind, making it

:06:37. > :06:40.unseasonably cold. Still the showers person to more money, more frequent

:06:41. > :06:44.in the Northeast and the Northern Isles, one or two pushing further

:06:45. > :06:48.south in across eastern Scotland as did the day progresses. Plenty of

:06:49. > :06:52.dry and sunny weather for western parts. Guilt developing the Northern

:06:53. > :06:55.Isles and along the East Coast as we head towards the afternoon. A

:06:56. > :06:59.similar picture across the rest of the UK. Good sunny spells, drive for

:07:00. > :07:05.Northern Ireland in northwest England. In the East we will see the

:07:06. > :07:09.showers ganging together. There is a wintry and is over the higher ground

:07:10. > :07:12.than unseasonably cold. Look at our temperatures, eight or nine Celsius

:07:13. > :07:17.at best. Though showers becoming more frequent as we through tomorrow

:07:18. > :07:19.evening, a wintry healing as well, it stays on the Wendy said.

:07:20. > :07:23.Our next update is just after the ten o'clock news.

:07:24. > :07:26.Until then, from everyone in the team here in Glasgow,

:07:27. > :07:30.enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening.
