:00:00. > :00:32.Now on BBC One, it's time for the news where you are.

:00:33. > :00:34.Scotland's party leaders have been back

:00:35. > :00:36.on the campaign trail after the last televised leaders' debate.

:00:37. > :00:38.It was the question of a second independence referendum that saw

:00:39. > :00:40.the liveliest exchanges, with each party accusing each other

:00:41. > :01:26.No politician has the right to stand in the way of the democratic wishes

:01:27. > :01:30.of the Scottish people. That question back on the lips of the

:01:31. > :01:32.leaders today, and they blame game over who wants to keep the debate

:01:33. > :01:40.going. It's the side that won that referendum, the

:01:41. > :01:45.no side, who are raising it time and time again. Before the referendum, I

:01:46. > :01:49.remember conservatives and Labour Party politicians saying they had no

:01:50. > :01:54.fear of a referendum and bring it on. Now they seem infuriated at the

:01:55. > :01:59.question that Scotland will consider it again. It is the SNP and Nicola

:02:00. > :02:04.Sturgeon who are determined to keep us in the arguments of the past.

:02:05. > :02:09.Let's focus on the future and how we can use the new powers of the

:02:10. > :02:15.parliament to use the richest 1% to pay their share. The Conservatives

:02:16. > :02:18.and the Lib Dems say it is the SNP serving up uncertainty. It isn't an

:02:19. > :02:22.acceptable for the first Minister to say she can wake up in the morning,

:02:23. > :02:23.see an opinion poll she likes, and take us back

:02:24. > :02:31.to the debate and the discord we had with the referendum. People are

:02:32. > :02:35.angry that 18 months after the referendum, which was supposed to be

:02:36. > :02:37.the biggest democratic experience of a lifetime, the SNP don't think it's

:02:38. > :02:41.any good any longer and they want to have another

:02:42. > :02:53.campaign, starting in a few weeks' time.

:02:54. > :02:59.for a on the other parties want to talk about independence more than I

:03:00. > :03:05.have been doing in the election. It is not a surprise. Scotland will

:03:06. > :03:09.only become independent if that is what a majority of people want.

:03:10. > :03:15.There are many issues for people to ponder the election. We have heard

:03:16. > :03:19.about tax, education and other. Issues This will be the first

:03:20. > :03:23.Hollywood vote since the independence referendum and the

:03:24. > :03:27.exchanges suggested is an issue that divides and excites the parties.

:03:28. > :03:30.A leading candidate for Ukip has said the party in Scotland stands

:03:31. > :03:33.Alan Melville, who tops Ukip's Lothian list, wants

:03:34. > :03:38.Yesterday, West of Scotland candidate, Robert Malyn quit,

:03:39. > :03:40.two months after ten senior activists wrote to party HQ

:03:41. > :03:45.demanding a new spokesman north of the border.

:03:46. > :03:47.The party leader in Scotland, David Coburn, has dismissed

:03:48. > :04:02.man died in police custody at the weekend.

:04:03. > :04:04.The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner has been

:04:05. > :04:06.asked by prosecutors to look into the circumstances leading up

:04:07. > :04:12.to the death of Steven Chesney in Motherwell on Sunday.

:04:13. > :04:13.Airbus Helicopters has lifted its recommendation

:04:14. > :04:19.that its H225 Super Puma helicopter be grounded.

:04:20. > :04:21.It claims initial evidence suggests there is no link

:04:22. > :04:33.between Friday's crash and two in the North Sea in 2012.

:04:34. > :04:41.The aftermath of the helicopter crash. The emergency services rushed

:04:42. > :04:47.to find survivors. There were none from the 13 occupants. One of those

:04:48. > :04:52.killed was this 41-year-old from Aberdeenshire. His family called him

:04:53. > :04:57.a loving husband and devoted father and say they were devastated by his

:04:58. > :05:03.death. Super Pumas are used in many of the thousands of flights that

:05:04. > :05:10.take workers to the oil platforms every year. There has been

:05:11. > :05:13.logistical headaches. Offshore workers are being ferried using

:05:14. > :05:19.other helicopter models but the company using the crash helicopter,

:05:20. > :05:26.CHC, said it is too early to assign blame. It is too early to speculate

:05:27. > :05:31.on the reasons for the accident. We will work closely with the regulator

:05:32. > :05:33.and manufacturers to ensure we find hopefully the root cause of the

:05:34. > :05:40.incident and hopefully learn from it. The 225 is now grounded for

:05:41. > :05:42.commercial operations in the UK until it is deemed safe to use

:05:43. > :05:45.again. To football and Dundee United

:05:46. > :05:47.will be relegated from the Premiership if they fail

:05:48. > :05:49.to beat their neighbours Dundee United are 11 points adrift

:05:50. > :05:55.at the bottom of the table Our reporter Brian McLauchlin

:05:56. > :06:05.is outside Dens Park. To be relegated here at the home of

:06:06. > :06:15.city rivals Dundee would be the final straw for many fans, and some

:06:16. > :06:19.protested outside the ground. More protests are expected this evening.

:06:20. > :06:24.Stephen Thompson said he is willing to listen to credible offers for his

:06:25. > :06:28.shareholding but none as yet have been forthcoming. Mixu Paatelainen,

:06:29. > :06:34.is also under threat, he has been at the club since October. They have to

:06:35. > :06:37.win to avoid the drop. Bidding has not come easy for United with only

:06:38. > :06:45.six in the league this season. Now the weather. Good evening. Beefy

:06:46. > :06:49.showers around today. Sunshine with them at times, too. As we headed

:06:50. > :06:53.towards tonight the showers continue courtesy of the low pressure towards

:06:54. > :07:00.Iceland and the wind will remain fresh and strong. Some of the

:07:01. > :07:14.showers could come with hail and a rumble of thunder. Tonight and

:07:15. > :07:20.tomorrow, fewer showers. The showers will remain frequent. Tomorrow we

:07:21. > :07:24.get off to a showery start. Breezy and blustery at times. Showers

:07:25. > :07:26.easing off and more in the way of sunshine coming through,

:07:27. > :07:30.particularly in the East of Scotland. As we head through towards

:07:31. > :07:34.particularly in the East of the end of today the cloud thickens

:07:35. > :07:40.in the west and the rain will arrive ahead of a weather front with us

:07:41. > :07:43.through Wednesday. It means a fairly cloudy and wet day on Wednesday

:07:44. > :07:51.across the north-west of the country. Cloudy at times but some

:07:52. > :07:51.brightness particularly around the Murray Firth.

:07:52. > :07:56.That is the forecast. I'll be back with the late

:07:57. > :07:59.bulletin at 10:45. Until then, have

:08:00. > :08:03.a very good evening.
