:00:08. > :00:11.An estimated 120,000 jobs could be lost by the end of this year

:00:12. > :00:15.because of the downturn in the oil and gas industry.

:00:16. > :00:19.The industry body, Oil and Gas UK, says the figure shows the impact

:00:20. > :00:24.of the problems in the sector on the UK economy as a whole.

:00:25. > :00:37.You can sit there for an hour before anything happens.

:00:38. > :00:43.Fred Wallace has been taxing in Aberdeen for 14 years. Before that

:00:44. > :00:47.it was in the fishing industry. His business has been hit by the

:00:48. > :00:53.knock-on effect of the lowering gas charge.

:00:54. > :01:01.The effect on the average taxi driver is a reduction in 30 to 40%

:01:02. > :01:07.of income. That is even working extra hours.

:01:08. > :01:09.Fred is not alone. Hotels, restaurants and shops have all been

:01:10. > :01:14.affected in Aberdeen. There is nothing else. There used to

:01:15. > :01:19.be the fishing industry but now there is nothing else. I've some of

:01:20. > :01:25.them all go back to their old trades but is the business there for them?

:01:26. > :01:28.The industry body no estimates that 120,000 jobs will have been lost by

:01:29. > :01:35.the end of the year, including the supply chain. That is not just in

:01:36. > :01:42.Aberdeen but across the UK. If you think of the dramatic drop we

:01:43. > :01:45.have two deal with in the last couple of years, it needs to go up

:01:46. > :01:50.and stay at a level to bring confidence and revenues back into

:01:51. > :01:53.the industry so we can start spending again.

:01:54. > :01:59.Fred Wallace know he is lucky still to have worked. Despite the loss of

:02:00. > :02:02.business, it is estimated more than 330,000 jobs around the UK still

:02:03. > :02:04.rely on oil and gas. Meanwhile, BP has confirmed

:02:05. > :02:07.that it has scrapped plans for a new gas sweetening plant

:02:08. > :02:09.at Shetland's Sullom Voe terminal. The company announced

:02:10. > :02:11.in March that the project, which would have employed 300

:02:12. > :02:13.people in its construction and 30 permanent staff,

:02:14. > :02:17.was on hold, The number of people charged under

:02:18. > :02:23.football-related offensive behaviour laws has increased by almost

:02:24. > :02:26.50% in the past year. Ministers claim it shows

:02:27. > :02:29.that the controversial policy is working but some fans

:02:30. > :02:34.and opposition politicians say the laws are still targeting

:02:35. > :02:48.law-abiding football supporters. These scenes from last month's cup

:02:49. > :02:58.final at Hampden are a reminder of Scotland's Robins with food related

:02:59. > :03:04.disorder. -- problems. The match was marred by a pitch invasion which led

:03:05. > :03:05.to violence. Figures published today by the Scottish Government show that

:03:06. > :03:29.was not an isolated incident. Scotland's Justice Secretary says

:03:30. > :03:32.the figures show the government was right and passenger specific laws to

:03:33. > :03:38.tackle the problem. This legislation continues to play

:03:39. > :03:43.in a potent bat and sending a strong message that offensive behaviour at

:03:44. > :03:49.football will not be tolerated and prosecutors will take robust action

:03:50. > :03:53.pursuing those involved. Not everybody agrees. Some fans

:03:54. > :04:00.reckon current legislation targets law-abiding foot all supporters and

:04:01. > :04:04.see the figures do not tell the whole story.

:04:05. > :04:09.When the figures went down in 2013 and 2014, ministers said that was

:04:10. > :04:15.evidence the act was working. I think we all know it is not working.

:04:16. > :04:18.We are talking about attaining any aid of people and a small increase

:04:19. > :04:23.this year. The act is not working. Meanwhile,

:04:24. > :04:33.12 men appeared in court following the cup final trouble. The

:04:34. > :04:35.Department are committed, they say, to end scenes like these.

:04:36. > :04:38.A zoo in Cumbria has been fined more than quarter of a million pounds

:04:39. > :04:41.after one of its keepers was mauled to death by a tiger.

:04:42. > :04:44.Sarah McClay, who was 24, was from Glasgow.

:04:45. > :04:51.Peter Marshall reports from Preston Crown Court.

:04:52. > :04:59.The owner of the South Lakes Wild Animal Park left court this

:05:00. > :05:03.afternoon, unwilling to talk about the feelings that played a

:05:04. > :05:16.substantial role in Sarah McClay's debt. -- death.

:05:17. > :05:20.Sarah McClay considered at it a village to work with big cats. She

:05:21. > :05:26.died when entering through what should have been a self closing

:05:27. > :05:33.locked door at the mechanism was inadequate.

:05:34. > :05:38.It was fair for the judge to say he did not want the zoo to close

:05:39. > :05:40.because he didn't want people to lose their jobs but it was good to

:05:41. > :05:57.know somebody else was responsible. It was fined a total of almost

:05:58. > :06:00.?300,000 and given ten years to complete payment.

:06:01. > :06:04.We never wanted the zoo to close complete payment.

:06:05. > :06:11.because that is not what Sarah would have wanted but we just wanted her

:06:12. > :06:15.ex-employees to feel safe. In mitigation, the barrister

:06:16. > :06:20.representing the zoo apologised and said nobody would forget the horror

:06:21. > :06:24.of that day. The judge recognised that safety was

:06:25. > :06:29.a considerable priority in the zoo and it remains so.

:06:30. > :06:33.The council has given the zoo 's strict new conditions which will

:06:34. > :06:38.have to meet before its relations is renewed. -- it's a licence.

:06:39. > :06:40.The Coastguard has confirmed that debris found during a search

:06:41. > :06:42.off the coast of County Antrim in Northern Ireland

:06:43. > :06:45.is from a microlight aircraft that went missing on Thursday.

:06:46. > :06:49.The plane with two people onboard went missing, after leaving

:06:50. > :06:53.Wreckage, including the tail fin, was discovered by a Dublin couple

:06:54. > :06:56.Five lifeboats from Scotland and Northern Ireland were joined

:06:57. > :06:57.in the search by coastguard helicopters from

:06:58. > :07:04.It's emerged that a teenage driver involved in a crash that left

:07:05. > :07:06.a passenger in a critical condition had only passed her

:07:07. > :07:12.Three teenagers were injured when the car collided with a tree

:07:13. > :07:17.in Dundee's Camperdown Park on Wednesday evening.

:07:18. > :07:19.The First Minister has admitted to having "frustrations"

:07:20. > :07:21.with the European Union, as it's prevented her

:07:22. > :07:25.from introducing a minimum price for alcohol.

:07:26. > :07:29.Speaking during a Buzzfeed debate on the forthcoming referendum,

:07:30. > :07:32.Nicola Sturgeon said that the policy being held up by legal argument

:07:33. > :07:35.didn't justify walking out of the EU.

:07:36. > :07:39.However, the Vote Leave campaign said a European court was rejecting

:07:40. > :07:42.the settled will of the Scottish people and the First Minister

:07:43. > :07:45.should stand up for Scottish democracy.

:07:46. > :07:48.Army officer cadets at Edinburgh castle fired a 21-gun salute to mark

:07:49. > :07:56.The young soldiers also provided the ceremonial guard

:07:57. > :08:07.Let's get the weekend weather outlook now from Christopher.

:08:08. > :08:14.It was a fairly cloudy day across many parts of the country bar

:08:15. > :08:24.Shetland and Orkney, and a similar story tomorrow. That is how we start

:08:25. > :08:30.tomorrow morning. The rain is light and patchy and not everyone will see

:08:31. > :08:33.it but it will be cloudy for most. There will be a number of heavy

:08:34. > :08:42.showers through the Midlands, thundery at times. Elsewhere, cloudy

:08:43. > :08:45.with patchy outbreaks of rain. Feeling cooler than what we have

:08:46. > :08:52.seen through the week. By mid-afternoon tomorrow, in the West,

:08:53. > :08:58.one or two hefty showers. The good part of Central Scotland will be dry

:08:59. > :09:02.but probably cloudy. This day and murky around the North Sea coast.

:09:03. > :09:07.Fairly damp conditions stretching up to the north-west. All major went

:09:08. > :09:17.dry with the best of the best sunshine and Shetland. As we head

:09:18. > :09:23.overnight towards Sunday, little in the way of change. You will see

:09:24. > :09:28.these weather fronts continue to pile in, bringing workload and

:09:29. > :09:38.further spills of patchy light rain at times. Drier on Sunday and maybe

:09:39. > :09:45.brighter. A humid feel in the West with some rain in the afternoon. Low

:09:46. > :09:49.pressure stays in charge next week which means it will be fairly cloudy

:09:50. > :09:54.with summit pics of rain but the winds generally liked. -- light.

:09:55. > :10:00.But, from everyone on the late team here in Glasgow and around

:10:01. > :10:06.Both sides of the EU debate are about to face tough questions
