:00:00. > :00:00.We are back with the late news at 10:05pm.

:00:00. > :00:11.Now on BBC One its time for the news where you are.

:00:12. > :00:14.Seven people have been injured in a serious accident involving

:00:15. > :00:16.a roller-coaster at M's theme park near Motherwell.

:00:17. > :00:19.Emergency services are at the scene and the park has been closed.

:00:20. > :00:21.Our reporter Andrew Black is there with the latest.

:00:22. > :00:35.If you look just behind me you will be able to see the entrance to

:00:36. > :00:39.Strathclyde Country Park, that is near to where this accident

:00:40. > :00:44.happened. This is as close as police will allow us to get at the moment

:00:45. > :00:48.and it is a fast changing situation. What we know is that seven people

:00:49. > :00:52.were injured after the roller-coaster crashed for the real

:00:53. > :00:56.lives at MND is parked here near Motherwell. Emergency services said

:00:57. > :01:00.that happened on the Tsunami roller-coaster ride. This was a

:01:01. > :01:06.Sunday afternoon, this place was absolutely mobbed with families, it

:01:07. > :01:09.school holidays have just happened. school holidays have just happened.

:01:10. > :01:13.-- M's. Some eyewitnesses have spoken to us and spoken of people

:01:14. > :01:17.being trapped upside down on the right with children on board.

:01:18. > :01:22.Someone else said it was like a scene out of a horror film. Since I

:01:23. > :01:25.have been here, there have been a lot of ambulances and emergency

:01:26. > :01:31.services coming and going from the scene. As I have said, it is a very

:01:32. > :01:35.fast changing situation. All we know at the moment officially from police

:01:36. > :01:40.is that there are seven casualties. We hope for an update later. At this

:01:41. > :01:47.stage, it is pretty clear they are having to deal with a very serious

:01:48. > :01:49.incident. Andrew Black, thank you very much

:01:50. > :01:53.for that. 13-year-old Caitlin Barnes

:01:54. > :02:03.was at the site with friends and had When I turned around to look at it,

:02:04. > :02:07.I saw the carriage hurtling towards the ground. I do not think there was

:02:08. > :02:13.anyone else on the right that it landed on. There were lots of people

:02:14. > :02:20.trapped, probably I would have said up to ten people. I saw one girl

:02:21. > :02:25.upside down who was stuck. The voice of Caitlin Barnes there.

:02:26. > :02:28.The First Minister has said she would consider asking Holyrood

:02:29. > :02:30.to refuse permission for Westminster legislation, which could ultimately

:02:31. > :02:33.pave the way for the UK's exit from the European Union.

:02:34. > :02:35.Nicola Sturgeon indicated she wouldn't vote for something that

:02:36. > :02:38.The Scottish Secretary said the Scottish Parliament couldn't

:02:39. > :02:46.Here's our political correspondent, Andrew Kerr.

:02:47. > :02:55.There's a sense of sheer confusion at Westminster after the on

:02:56. > :03:00.Thursday. Shattered careers and politics in a spin. As debate rages

:03:01. > :03:05.over how the UK might cut links from the EU, the First Minister was clear

:03:06. > :03:10.today that she could put up hurdles to frustrate the process. She might

:03:11. > :03:13.consider asking MSPs to withhold Holyrood's consent from legislation

:03:14. > :03:18.that would pave the way for the UK's departure. As the Scottish

:03:19. > :03:22.Parliament was judging this on the basis of what is right for Scotland,

:03:23. > :03:24.then the option of saying we will not vote for something that is

:03:25. > :03:28.against the interests of Scotland, not vote for something that is

:03:29. > :03:31.of course that must be on the table. There has been intense debate today

:03:32. > :03:35.as to how far the Scottish Parliament could go on frustrating

:03:36. > :03:40.Brexit. Hollywood cannot block Brexit legislation, there is a

:03:41. > :03:44.principle that if were displayed -- Westminster will legislate on such

:03:45. > :03:47.matters in my copy content of the Scottish Parliament. At the Scottish

:03:48. > :03:51.Parliament refused that, Westminster can always override it.

:03:52. > :03:56.The Scottish Secretary said the majority must be listened to. We

:03:57. > :04:00.must respect the result on Thursday even have we do not like it. I

:04:01. > :04:05.personally do not believe that the Scottish Parliament is in a position

:04:06. > :04:08.to block Brexit. Mr Mundell also indicated there would be another

:04:09. > :04:14.independence referendum, if that is what people wanted. Polling suggests

:04:15. > :04:17.elite in support for independence, with Ms Sturgeon warning Westminster

:04:18. > :04:20.that it would be unacceptable for a second vote to be blocked. Andrew

:04:21. > :04:24.Kerr, Reporting Scotland. Nine members of Labour's

:04:25. > :04:26.front bench - including their Shadow Scottish Secretary,

:04:27. > :04:28.Ian Murray - have resigned today. The UK party leader, Jeremy Corbyn,

:04:29. > :04:31.faces a vote of no confidence but says he'll stand again

:04:32. > :04:44.if there's a leadership election. Mr Corbyn, how can you survive? As

:04:45. > :04:48.he left home this morning, the UK Labour leader might have been hoping

:04:49. > :04:52.to avoid getting any more e-mails and letters from Shadow Cabinet

:04:53. > :04:58.colleagues resigned from their jobs. Labour's only MP in Scotland, the

:04:59. > :05:02.former Shadow Secretary Ian Murray, send Mr Corbyn a letter Kevin Kim

:05:03. > :05:06.that he did not believe that the Labour Party could be bold under his

:05:07. > :05:10.leadership -- leadership. He announced that live on BBC One

:05:11. > :05:13.Scotland. I said to the Labour Party and to Jeremy directly that at this

:05:14. > :05:16.moment in time I did not believe that he could be pie minister and if

:05:17. > :05:20.he thought he could be, then he is speaking to the wrong people and

:05:21. > :05:23.needs to change. His changes seems to have been the site Helena Lee

:05:24. > :05:27.bank, I think that is the wrong way to go and I think this is the final

:05:28. > :05:32.stop for many people in the Shadow Cabinet. A handful of activists

:05:33. > :05:36.rallied in support of Mr Corbyn outside of Labour headquarters.

:05:37. > :05:39.Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell told the studio is, pointing to the

:05:40. > :05:44.big mandate Jeremy Corbyn had received less than one year ago. And

:05:45. > :05:49.there was support from the party's Deputy Leader in Scotland, Alex

:05:50. > :05:51.Rowley. He accused Ian Murray and others who resigned of putting

:05:52. > :05:55.self-interest before the needs of the country. All this was very

:05:56. > :05:57.different from the show of unity just months ago, but the suggestion

:05:58. > :06:01.different from the show of unity of more Shadow Cabinet resignation

:06:02. > :06:06.still to come. Huw Williams, Reporting Scotland.

:06:07. > :06:07.Let's get the weather forecast for this evening

:06:08. > :06:21.Good evening, after a sunny start this morning, the cloud and rain

:06:22. > :06:26.soon arrived. We can see that rain moving from West to East producing

:06:27. > :06:30.damp and wet conditions. The rain is on the way out during the course of

:06:31. > :06:34.the evening and overnight. Hugh is the chart and there is the thing.

:06:35. > :06:38.Off it goes, becoming confined to Shetland. Most of the main line is

:06:39. > :06:44.dry with just mist and not for the West coast. Nine or 7 degrees

:06:45. > :06:49.overnight. Tomorrow we will seek westerly winds freshening. So for

:06:50. > :06:56.areas having up to 20 degrees today, a bit of a change. The showers will

:06:57. > :06:59.be blustery at times. South of the border, Driver England and Wales,

:07:00. > :07:01.temperatures in the South East of England up to 20 degrees. Some

:07:02. > :07:06.rights bills in the West of Scotland but many showers. Most will be

:07:07. > :07:09.across Western parts of the country but that does westerly winds

:07:10. > :07:13.dragging them in that we will see a few over in the East as well,

:07:14. > :07:16.particularly towards Edinburgh and up towards the site. Eastham

:07:17. > :07:23.Aberdeenshire is very best in terms of the amount of dry some sheltered

:07:24. > :07:28.weather for the Cairngorms. Generally a fresh feel for many.

:07:29. > :07:33.Into the evening the showers remain with us, probably a dying end to the

:07:34. > :07:36.day for the central belt. For the rest of the week, Tuesday onwards,

:07:37. > :07:39.unsettled with rain showers at times and equal or fresh feel for many.

:07:40. > :07:40.Certainly through the course of the afternoon. That is the forecast for

:07:41. > :07:45.now. Our next update is just

:07:46. > :07:50.after the Ten O'clock News. Until then, from everyone

:07:51. > :07:52.on the team here in Glasgow, enjoy the rest

:07:53. > :07:55.of your Sunday evening.
