:00:00. > :00:00.Tonight on Reporting Scotland: Reaching out across Europe.

:00:07. > :00:10.The First Minister is in talks with Gibraltar

:00:11. > :00:13.in a bid to sustain Scotland's links with the EU.

:00:14. > :00:16.Two boys remain in a serious condition in hospital

:00:17. > :00:21.after a rollercoaster crash in North Lanarkshire.

:00:22. > :00:24.A national investigation into crematoriums finds a history

:00:25. > :00:35.of "unethical and abhorrent practices" in Aberdeen.

:00:36. > :00:38.I don't think they understand how much they have hurt people, telling

:00:39. > :00:41.lies. Also on the programme,

:00:42. > :00:43.Muirfield Golf Club announces it will vote again on lifting its ban

:00:44. > :00:46.on admitting female members, six weeks after

:00:47. > :00:50.rejecting the proposal. And we're back at Wimbledon,

:00:51. > :00:52.as Team Murray aims for another The First Minister has told BBC

:00:53. > :01:13.Scotland that she's in talks with Gibraltar to find common ground

:01:14. > :01:16.in their efforts to maintain links The initiative came

:01:17. > :01:21.from Gibraltar's Chief Minister after both Scotland and Gibraltar

:01:22. > :01:24.voted to remain in the EU Nicola Sturgeon said

:01:25. > :01:30.she would pursue all avenues Here's our political editor,

:01:31. > :01:47.Brian Taylor. This afternoon, Nicola Sturgeon held

:01:48. > :01:51.talks with the Irish president, but she's prepared to look even further

:01:52. > :01:59.afield in search of pro-EU allegiances. She has agreed to talks

:02:00. > :02:04.with Gibraltar's Chief Minister. Gibraltar voted overwhelmingly to

:02:05. > :02:09.stay in the EU. For Gibraltar, for Northern Ireland, for London and for

:02:10. > :02:12.Scotland, this idea that we can be ripped out of the European Union

:02:13. > :02:18.against our will, with all the damaging consequences that will flow

:02:19. > :02:22.for that, is unacceptable. So I will forge alliances where possible.

:02:23. > :02:26.Could Scotland veto Brexit? Maybe. forge alliances where possible.

:02:27. > :02:32.It is down to Holyrood to implement EU laws here, so MSPs might be

:02:33. > :02:37.entitled to a vote on any changes. But it is Westminster that has the

:02:38. > :02:41.final say on relations with the EU. Could doing a reverse green and be

:02:42. > :02:48.on the table? The Arctic territory is part of Denmark, but opted out of

:02:49. > :02:53.the EU early in the 1980s. Could Scotland opt in after the UK leads?

:02:54. > :02:58.But agreement is a remote territory of Denmark. Scotland and the UK are

:02:59. > :03:03.much more closely linked. So what would that leave on the table? An

:03:04. > :03:11.independence referendum. This expert on EU law says Brussels might talk

:03:12. > :03:17.to Scotland, but issues like trade and free movement, but only en route

:03:18. > :03:20.to independence. Any continuing arrangements relating specifically

:03:21. > :03:25.to Scotland will be part of a broader process of an emergent

:03:26. > :03:30.independent Scotland in the EU, which will require a new referendum

:03:31. > :03:35.and all the other complications. I don't think Scotland could enjoy

:03:36. > :03:40.semi-EU membership while in the UK. MSPs will be asked tomorrow to back

:03:41. > :03:44.the Scottish Government's attempt to maintain relations with the European

:03:45. > :03:49.Union. The motion makes no mention of independence. Tories say a second

:03:50. > :03:54.independence referendum should be off the table. We were asked that

:03:55. > :03:56.question about whether we should stay part of the United Kingdom. We

:03:57. > :04:01.question about whether we should voted on it, and that should be

:04:02. > :04:06.respected. People are seeing the instability that the vote has caused

:04:07. > :04:12.in the last few days. We don't need further division and instability on

:04:13. > :04:15.top of that. I cannot support that. Seeking to reassure markets, the

:04:16. > :04:21.Chancellor has ruled out an emergency austerity budget. Nicola

:04:22. > :04:28.Sturgeon says it is a pity that Project Fear has been replaced by

:04:29. > :04:32.Project Farce. What is the likelihood of an

:04:33. > :04:36.alliance with Gibraltar bearing any fruit? Nicola Sturgeon is looking at

:04:37. > :04:49.her options. I think she will have seen this as the most likely avenue.

:04:50. > :04:54.Scotland, Gibraltar and Northern Ireland are wanted by some to keep

:04:55. > :04:58.full EU membership when the rest of the UK leads. I think that is

:04:59. > :05:02.unlikely, and most people would point out that the EU operates by

:05:03. > :05:05.treaties, which are with member states and not with sections of

:05:06. > :05:13.member states. Green and notwithstanding. Nicolas virgin is

:05:14. > :05:13.examining -- Nicola Sturgeon is examining every possibility. She

:05:14. > :05:19.wants to build all possible examining every possibility. She

:05:20. > :05:23.alliances in pursuit of her aim. What is happening at Holyrood

:05:24. > :05:27.tomorrow? It is a statement from the first Minster, comparable to the

:05:28. > :05:32.statement made by the Prime Minister today at Westminster. It will set

:05:33. > :05:38.out her thinking in how to maintain the links with the European Union.

:05:39. > :05:42.Then it will be a vote from an entire parliament on a motion from

:05:43. > :05:46.the First Minister. Motion does not set out independence, but it does

:05:47. > :05:52.say that Scotland has voted in favour of European Union membership,

:05:53. > :05:57.and it is seeking a mandate for ministers to carry on and examine

:05:58. > :06:02.those talks. I think Labour, the Lib Dems and the Greens will vote for

:06:03. > :06:06.it, but the Tories will seek to amend it to keep out any prospect of

:06:07. > :06:12.a second independence referendum, I think. Thank you very much.

:06:13. > :06:14.Meanwhile, at Westminster, David Cameron has been making

:06:15. > :06:16.a statement on the result of the EU referendum.

:06:17. > :06:18.Our correspondent, David Porter is there for us tonight.

:06:19. > :06:21.And the suggestion that Scotland could remain in the EU was raised

:06:22. > :06:34.And could maintain its relationship with the EU? Yes, the shock waves of

:06:35. > :06:38.last weeks vote are still being felt at Westminster, as they are in

:06:39. > :06:42.Edinburgh. David Cameron coming to the House of Commons today to

:06:43. > :06:46.explain to MPs that although he didn't like the result of the EU

:06:47. > :06:51.referendum, he would respect it. He said there would be difficulties

:06:52. > :06:56.ahead. The SNP MPs in the debate were of one voice, and said that as

:06:57. > :07:00.Scotland had voted overwhelmingly to stay within the European Union, it

:07:01. > :07:04.was unfair that they could be taken out. They raised the prospect of a

:07:05. > :07:06.was unfair that they could be taken second independence referendum in

:07:07. > :07:13.Scotland once again. David Cameron quashed that and said it wasn't on

:07:14. > :07:16.the agenda. He said it was a UK wide referendum, therefore all parts of

:07:17. > :07:21.the UK would have to respect it, whether they liked it or not.

:07:22. > :07:27.Meanwhile, the tall oil within the Labour Party continues. Turmoil

:07:28. > :07:32.doesn't explain what is going on at the moment. There is open rebellion

:07:33. > :07:36.by a large number of Labour MPs against their leader, Jeremy Corbyn.

:07:37. > :07:41.More than 40 of them now have said they have no confidence in him.

:07:42. > :07:47.That's two thirds of his Shadow Cabinet who have resigned. There has

:07:48. > :07:51.been a very stormy meeting of Labour MPs and Jeremy Corbyn tonight. In

:07:52. > :07:56.all likelihood, there will be a vote of confidence in him tomorrow.

:07:57. > :08:00.Yesterday, the only Scottish Labour MP, Ian Murray, resigned as Scottish

:08:01. > :08:07.Secretary. Jeremy Corbyn has not been able to replace him so far.

:08:08. > :08:11.Tonight, Ian Murray has tweeted that there are Corbyn supporting

:08:12. > :08:15.protesters outside his home. He says it is disgraceful. He says to Jeremy

:08:16. > :08:18.Corbyn that it is now time to call the dogs of.

:08:19. > :08:20.The operators of the M's theme park say a rollercoaster

:08:21. > :08:22.which derailed yesterday had passed its annual safety

:08:23. > :08:26.Ten people, most of them children, were injured when a carriage

:08:27. > :08:29.of the Tsunami ride plunged 30 feet after it became detached

:08:30. > :08:37.in 50 years in the business and was heartbroken that

:08:38. > :08:54.Panic and confusion, as an afternoon at a theme park which should have

:08:55. > :08:59.been fun turned very quickly to fear. Carriages from a

:09:00. > :09:03.roller-coaster fell 20 feet onto an area below, part of it on to ride

:09:04. > :09:08.for very young children. One dad who was queueing for the roller coasters

:09:09. > :09:14.thinks something went wrong on the right before it crashed. It came to

:09:15. > :09:17.a very, very quick halt, as if the brakes had been slammed on. I saw

:09:18. > :09:24.the frame of the roller coasters shudder and shake. I remember

:09:25. > :09:28.thinking it was strange. Firefighters worked alongside police

:09:29. > :09:32.and paramedics to free the nine passengers from the crashed

:09:33. > :09:39.carriages, mostly children. They say they arrive to see chaotic scenes.

:09:40. > :09:43.The front carriage was in an upside-down position, twisting into

:09:44. > :09:48.carriages the right way up. The ones in the rear were upside down. So you

:09:49. > :09:51.were dealing with a lot of child casualties, so that must have

:09:52. > :09:56.brought an extra dimensional to the rescue. There was a lot of distress,

:09:57. > :10:02.from the casualties and the public in general. It's something I don't

:10:03. > :10:07.think you can actually train for, for dealing with the distress that

:10:08. > :10:13.the children were faced with at this time. A 12-year-old boy is in

:10:14. > :10:19.serious condition in hospital in Glasgow. An 11-year-old boy is also

:10:20. > :10:23.still serious, but his grandad posted an update today on social

:10:24. > :10:32.media, saying that optimal team at efforts to save his arm and hand had

:10:33. > :10:39.been successful. William is still being treated for a knee injury,

:10:40. > :10:43.after being -- after flying out of his seat. There have been a number

:10:44. > :10:48.of occasions at M's over the year where firefighters have been called

:10:49. > :10:52.to free people from roller coasters that have got stuck, including the

:10:53. > :10:57.Tsunami ride involved in yesterday's crash. But M's insists that the

:10:58. > :11:01.Tsunami had recently passed its annual safety test. We have never

:11:02. > :11:07.had an incident like this before in 50 years. We are heartbroken that

:11:08. > :11:12.people have come to Alma Park and been injured on one of our rights.

:11:13. > :11:17.The Health and Safety Executive has mechanical and engineering experts

:11:18. > :11:22.on site to examine the wreckage and see if they can find out why it came

:11:23. > :11:26.off its rails. They are looking at the structure of the roller

:11:27. > :11:30.coasters. With the news emerging that one passenger was thrown from

:11:31. > :11:36.the ride, passenger restraints will have to be looked at, as well as the

:11:37. > :11:42.overall mechanics of the rise. -- of the ride. Tonight, there are a total

:11:43. > :11:44.of seven children, aged between 11 and 16, being treated in hospital

:11:45. > :11:47.following yesterday's crash. You're watching Reporting

:11:48. > :11:48.Scotland from the BBC. Still to come

:11:49. > :11:50.on tonight's programme: Muirfield Golf Club announces it

:11:51. > :11:52.will vote again on lifting its ban six weeks after rejecting

:11:53. > :11:55.the proposal. It's day one of two

:11:56. > :12:00.weeks of Murraymania. We have a special report

:12:01. > :12:05.from the British Olympic trials and find that Scots' medal hopes

:12:06. > :12:10.are in confident mood. A report into the operation

:12:11. > :12:18.of crematoriums in Scotland has found what it describes as unethical

:12:19. > :12:20.and abhorrent practices in Aberdeen The report, by the former

:12:21. > :12:28.Lord Advocate Dame Elish Angiolini, found babies were cremated

:12:29. > :12:32.alongside unrelated adults. The inquiry was prompted by a BBC

:12:33. > :12:35.Scotland investigation which highlighted bad practices

:12:36. > :12:50.at crematoria across Scotland. It is where people come to grieve

:12:51. > :12:55.and find comfort, but for 15 years, the practices here only made things

:12:56. > :12:59.worse. Until 2010, the bodies of babies would be placed in these

:13:00. > :13:03.worse. Until 2010, the bodies of burners with unrelated adults. All

:13:04. > :13:07.the ashes would go to the adults' relatives. Parents of the infant

:13:08. > :13:13.were told there was nothing to hand over. Nicola mentioned's son Liam

:13:14. > :13:18.was born prematurely in 2002, and died after just six hours. -- Nicola

:13:19. > :13:22.Merchant. She feels betrayed by the people who were meant to help her. I

:13:23. > :13:32.don't think they understand how much they have hurt people. Telling

:13:33. > :13:37.lies... We don't even have anything left, even if we found out there was

:13:38. > :13:44.remains and we could scatter the man know when to go. But no, nothing. In

:13:45. > :13:48.two previous enquiries, staff misled investigators about the practices.

:13:49. > :13:52.It was an anonymous whistle-blower who revealed the truth. Today, the

:13:53. > :13:54.Chief Executive of Aberdeen City Council offered an apology, but

:13:55. > :14:00.Chief Executive of Aberdeen City refused to answer questions. The

:14:01. > :14:04.loss of a baby is devastating for parents and families, and we are

:14:05. > :14:09.deeply sorry for the distress our past actions have caused. You talk

:14:10. > :14:12.about transparency, but you are walking off as soon as you have

:14:13. > :14:19.given this report. Instead, it was left to a string of

:14:20. > :14:23.deputies to provide answers. Part and parcel of the initial thing,

:14:24. > :14:26.staff were asked to come forward with anything that concerned them

:14:27. > :14:30.about procedures, so we could examine them to see if there was

:14:31. > :14:35.anything that was not appropriate. But they didn't? The bit about

:14:36. > :14:40.rabies in with adults was not brought forward. Hazel head is one

:14:41. > :14:45.of 14 crematoria across Scotland cited in the report, but it is the

:14:46. > :14:48.one by far the most heavily criticised. The Scottish Government

:14:49. > :14:52.says it will follow all the recommendations laid out, including

:14:53. > :14:55.the legislation to make what happened here a criminal offence.

:14:56. > :14:57.The Scottish breast-screening programme is to be reviewed after it

:14:58. > :15:00.emerged invitations to thousands of women were delayed.

:15:01. > :15:03.The problem first came to light when a woman contacted

:15:04. > :15:06.a breast-screening centre in August 2015 to report that she had not been

:15:07. > :15:09.called for an appointment for more than three years.

:15:10. > :15:12.She was among about 3,800 women affected.

:15:13. > :15:14.The Scottish Government has asked Healthcare Improvement

:15:15. > :15:20.Police Scotland is to review its approach to counter-corruption

:15:21. > :15:24.after a probe called for an urgent overhaul.

:15:25. > :15:26.It followed revelations that guidelines on accessing data

:15:27. > :15:30.without proper consent had been breached.

:15:31. > :15:32.It happened when the force's counter-corruption unit

:15:33. > :15:35.tried to discover more about a journalist's sources

:15:36. > :15:39.in relation to a newspaper story about the murder of Emma Caldwell.

:15:40. > :15:41.Police Scotland said it was "fully committed to taking forward"

:15:42. > :15:50.Muirfield Golf Club wants to hold a fresh ballot over

:15:51. > :15:52.whether to admit women members, just six weeks after

:15:53. > :15:56.The vote in May failed to reach the two-thirds majority required

:15:57. > :15:59.to overturn the men-only membership policy at the East Lothian club.

:16:00. > :16:02.It led to Muirfield being stripped of its right to host

:16:03. > :16:16.For those in charge at the world's oldest golf club, it's been an

:16:17. > :16:20.uncomfortable six weeks. A majority of members voted for women as

:16:21. > :16:24.members of the club, but the two-thirds majority that we require

:16:25. > :16:31.for a change in the rules was not met. The vote that saw Muirfield

:16:32. > :16:35.retain its centuries'-old male only policy drew widespread criticism and

:16:36. > :16:39.cost it the right to host the Open Championship. Having failed to

:16:40. > :16:44.convince enough members, the Committee are ready to try again,

:16:45. > :16:47.proposing a fresh ballot, the club captain said today a clear and

:16:48. > :16:52.decisive vote in favour of admitting women as members is required to

:16:53. > :16:56.enable us to begin the task of restoring the reputation of the

:16:57. > :17:07.club. On the nearby links, it was welcome

:17:08. > :17:11.news. I think for individual ladies to be members is a good thing. It is

:17:12. > :17:18.their business. They are a private club. They can do what they want. As

:17:19. > :17:22.a woman, I'm glad to hear it. Scotland's First Minister, a fierce

:17:23. > :17:26.critic of the original decision, says a change of heart by the

:17:27. > :17:32.members here at Muirfield would be a hugely positive step for equality.

:17:33. > :17:37.The R, the organisers of golf's Open Championship, have also

:17:38. > :17:42.welcomed today's developments. This Friday, Royal Troon, venue for this

:17:43. > :17:49.year's Open, will vote on allowing female members. The Muirfield

:17:50. > :17:58.precedent accused of focussing minds. The Chief Executive of the

:17:59. > :18:07.R has taken the bull by the horns. He is nudging clubs very quietly.

:18:08. > :18:10.The outcome is expected by the end of the year.

:18:11. > :18:15.A look at other stories from across the country.

:18:16. > :18:18.Controversial plans to build a new jail in a residential area

:18:19. > :18:22.of Inverness have been put on hold by Scotland's Prison Service.

:18:23. > :18:27.The plan to build a replacement for the city's existing Victorian

:18:28. > :18:35.Prison bosses say they're now examining a different site.

:18:36. > :18:38.A hill walker who was reported missing after heading out for a trek

:18:39. > :18:42.on Sunday has been found safe on a hill near Loch Kishorn,

:18:43. > :18:46.68-year-old Mark Flinn failed to return to his accommodation

:18:47. > :18:49.in Achintraid in Wester Ross after planning walks

:18:50. > :18:54.Searches for him involved mountain rescue teams, search dogs

:18:55. > :18:58.and an Inverness-based coastguard helicopter.

:18:59. > :19:01.The ferry service connecting Govan to Glasgow's Riverside

:19:02. > :19:05.Transport Museum has resumed for the summer season.

:19:06. > :19:08.The vessel carried almost 28,000 people on the free service over

:19:09. > :19:13.The community-sponsored project allows the public access

:19:14. > :19:18.to the historic medieval carved stones at Govan Old Parish church

:19:19. > :19:21.while also linking the area with Partick and Hillhead.

:19:22. > :19:23.The ferry will operate as an on-demand shuttle

:19:24. > :19:28.on seven days a week during the summer season.

:19:29. > :19:30.The owners of the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre

:19:31. > :19:32.in Glasgow have unveiled plans to create "the best

:19:33. > :19:40.SECC has commissioned a feasibility study to establish "viable

:19:41. > :19:43.options" for upgrading and enhancing the site.

:19:44. > :19:46.The area includes the SSE Hydro arena, which attracted more

:19:47. > :20:00.Let's get the latest sports news, from Rhona.

:20:01. > :20:06.We have two weeks ahead of stomach-churning,

:20:07. > :20:09.hand-wringing angst as we follow the fortunes of Andy Murray,

:20:10. > :20:12.Jamie Murray and Gordon Reid, amongst others.

:20:13. > :20:16.The Singles campaign of world number two Andy Murray begins tomorrow.

:20:17. > :20:18.For the first time this year, let's join Kheredine

:20:19. > :20:30.Hello from the All England Club, day one of Wimbledon has been blessed

:20:31. > :20:35.with good weather and some good tennis. For Andy Murray, the serious

:20:36. > :20:40.action doesn't start until tomorrow. So it has all been about final

:20:41. > :20:48.preparations for his first-round match and getting reacquainted with

:20:49. > :20:58.his coach's dry sense of humour. Where you heading now? Practice. The

:20:59. > :21:08.fine tuning continues under the watchful eye of Ivan Lendl. Back in

:21:09. > :21:13.charge of Team Murray. The British number one doesn't start until

:21:14. > :21:19.tomorrow and he's already readapting to Lendl's sense of humour. He can

:21:20. > :21:24.be harsh with his words. He doesn't mean them, most of the time. He's

:21:25. > :21:29.very different to how he looks on the TV when he is watching the

:21:30. > :21:34.matches. He pushes and works me hard. We have a good time whilst we

:21:35. > :21:38.are practising and away from the court. Another key cog in the

:21:39. > :21:41.machine is the assistant coach who told BBC Scotland there is real

:21:42. > :21:46.belief their man can win the tournament. He has the ability, he

:21:47. > :21:50.has done it before and the form that he's coming in with is exceptional.

:21:51. > :21:54.It's a long way to go and a lot of things can happen. People lose.

:21:55. > :21:58.Draws get tougher or open up. A lot can happen. He has a chance. How

:21:59. > :22:02.much of a chance will Andy Murray have of repeating that Wimbledon

:22:03. > :22:05.victory of three years ago? That will become clear over the next

:22:06. > :22:09.fortnight. He is seeded to meet a familiar foe in the final, Novak

:22:10. > :22:13.Djokovic got the defence of his crown off to the best possible start

:22:14. > :22:23.with a straight-sets win over James spp ward. -- James Ward. He is

:22:24. > :22:24.second up tomorrow against the world number 235 from Stockport, Liam

:22:25. > :22:29.Broady. The 400m hurdler Eilidh Doyle

:22:30. > :22:31.believes she can be in contention She was dominant in confirming

:22:32. > :22:35.her place in Team GB during the British Championships

:22:36. > :22:37.at the weekend. Doyle will be one of 12 Scots

:22:38. > :22:39.athletes heading to Rio, and, as Jane Lewis reports,

:22:40. > :22:54.she's not the only Scot The Olympic Trials saw plenty at

:22:55. > :23:01.stake. She is the UK champion. Doyle started off a wave of Scottish

:23:02. > :23:04.success. The Scottish athletes have put on such an impressive display

:23:05. > :23:09.here at the Olympic Trials in Birmingham. Eight Scots have booked

:23:10. > :23:14.their places on the athletics GB Team heading to Rio during the

:23:15. > :23:18.weekend at the trials. That is in addition to the four who had already

:23:19. > :23:26.qualified. That equals our best ever. Everybody keeps talking about

:23:27. > :23:31.the Glasgow legacy from 2014. It has put a surge into our step and

:23:32. > :23:34.motivated us to make sure that the Glasgow wasn't a one-off thing and

:23:35. > :23:38.we are good enough to compete on a world level. Good enough to compete

:23:39. > :23:52.with the best, but can they become one of the best? These were the last

:23:53. > :23:59.Scots to win individual medals. That was at the Seoul Games in 1988. 28

:24:00. > :24:05.years on, some believe they could deliver in Rio. I don't see why I

:24:06. > :24:11.can't be contending for a medal. They don't hand them out for free. I

:24:12. > :24:15.have to perform. I done the first step in qualifying for Rio, but I

:24:16. > :24:19.have to get through that heat and the semifinal. I have to get to the

:24:20. > :24:24.final and once I'm there, I can concentrate on that. For a few of

:24:25. > :24:27.the girls, each race has been different results-wise. Everyone

:24:28. > :24:33.switches places every race. It is competitive. I'm in the mix. So in

:24:34. > :24:40.the mix and there could be a 13th Scot named in the GB Team, 5,000m

:24:41. > :24:43.runner Laura Whittle could be handed a selector's pick.

:24:44. > :24:49.Now here's Andrew Kerr, with details of Scotland 2016.

:24:50. > :24:55.Who is up, who is down, who is in, who is out? It is hard to keep track

:24:56. > :24:59.of the Brexit developments. As the UK comes to terms with its decision,

:25:00. > :25:03.we will be speaking to the Scottish Government as they reach out to

:25:04. > :25:06.European partners. We will have all the latest on Scotland 2016 tonight

:25:07. > :25:19.at 10.30pm on BBC Two. Hello. The next seven days are

:25:20. > :25:25.unsettled weather-wise, all courtesy of low pressure up towards Iceland.

:25:26. > :25:30.Around it, swirling weather fronts, showers, breezy, quite a cool feel,

:25:31. > :25:37.fresh, but some sunshine in the mix. In fact, some decent spells of

:25:38. > :25:41.sunshine around today. The showers easing away tonight,

:25:42. > :25:48.many areas dry, certainly for central and southern Scotland. Still

:25:49. > :25:53.holding on across the north-west. Temperatures in towns and cities

:25:54. > :25:56.holding at 9 or 10 Celsius. In the countryside, it will be cooler than

:25:57. > :26:00.that in the shelter from the breeze. So to tomorrow. A north-south split

:26:01. > :26:04.that in the shelter from the breeze. to start the day. Dry for the

:26:05. > :26:11.central belt and south. Look what is coming. We can see this area of rain

:26:12. > :26:14.edging through the Irish Sea, showery outbreaks in towards

:26:15. > :26:19.Dumfries and Galloway, through the course of the afternoon and edging

:26:20. > :26:21.in to the central belt. Further north, those showers merging to give

:26:22. > :26:25.a longer spell of rain at times, too. Here is how the afternoon

:26:26. > :26:33.looks. Cloudy, some outbreaks of rain. Breezy around the west coast.

:26:34. > :26:38.Inland, the winds are lighter. 15, 16 Celsius, maybe the odd spot

:26:39. > :26:42.reaching 17 or 18 for eastern parts of Aberdeenshire. And the

:26:43. > :26:45.north-west, the showers will be frequent, the odd heavy one and the

:26:46. > :26:51.odd rumble of thunder. To end the day, something a bit drier edging in

:26:52. > :26:56.towards the south-west. Then midweek, there is that low pressure

:26:57. > :26:59.still with us, the weather systems swing their way through. This area

:27:00. > :27:03.of rain will stay south of the border, but there is a chance it

:27:04. > :27:05.could come further north. For many on Wednesday, bright spells and

:27:06. > :27:08.could come further north. For many showers. There is that rain edging

:27:09. > :27:12.its way in. That is one to watch. Now a reminder of

:27:13. > :27:14.tonight's main news. The First Minister has told BBC

:27:15. > :27:17.Scotland that she's in talks with Gibraltar to find common ground

:27:18. > :27:18.in their efforts to maintain links The initiative came

:27:19. > :27:23.from Gibraltar's Chief Minister after both Scotland and Gibraltar

:27:24. > :27:25.voted to remain in the EU The Shadow Chancellor says Jeremy

:27:26. > :27:37.Corbyn is going nowhere. He's now lost 34 members of his

:27:38. > :27:38.senior team over the last 24 hours. Even his deputy has told him

:27:39. > :27:40.he'd lost the confidence
