:00:08. > :00:10.Demonstrations have been held across the country ahead of a House

:00:11. > :00:12.of Commons vote on Monday on whether to renew

:00:13. > :00:16.The main anti-Trident protest was in Glasgow

:00:17. > :00:31.Several hundred protesters gathered in Glasgow city centre to voice

:00:32. > :00:35.their opposition to renewing the UK's Trident weapons system, and

:00:36. > :00:39.replacing before Clyde -based submarines that carry the warheads.

:00:40. > :00:44.We are backing up on the Scottish MPs will be saying on Monday, so

:00:45. > :00:47.almost all of them, with the exception of David Mundell, will be

:00:48. > :00:55.saying we are opposed nuclear weapons. This is ordinary people

:00:56. > :00:58.saying this, we are behind you. The lifetime cost of Trident replacement

:00:59. > :01:05.is estimated to be around ?200 billion. Including at least 31

:01:06. > :01:09.billion for the new submarines. The renewal of Trident represents 6% of

:01:10. > :01:14.the defence budget. The .1% of total government spending. That means it

:01:15. > :01:19.is affordable and ultimately is an investment in national security. We

:01:20. > :01:26.want rid of these and we want rid of them now. Scotland's MPs

:01:27. > :01:31.overwhelmingly disagree. Is pretty well mean how many MPs will be

:01:32. > :01:35.voting against it on Monday. The people on the steps here, and 32

:01:36. > :01:39.other demonstrations, are saying they don't want nuclear weapons in

:01:40. > :01:43.Scotland. The existing submarines can operate until about 2030, of the

:01:44. > :01:47.lead-in Times Square to build replacements means the decision of

:01:48. > :01:50.whether or not to press ahead must be taken now. This is likely to be

:01:51. > :01:56.the biggest of around 30 demonstrations taking place today.

:01:57. > :02:01.Designs to send a message to Westminster ahead of Monday's vote.

:02:02. > :02:03.The reality of the make-up of Parliament is that the arguments

:02:04. > :02:06.expressed here are unlikely to win the day.

:02:07. > :02:10.Tommy Sheppard has announced he will stand for the role

:02:11. > :02:12.The MP for Edinburgh East joins the party's Westminster

:02:13. > :02:14.leader Angus Robertson - and MEP Alyn Smith -

:02:15. > :02:17.The current deputy leader, Stewart Hosie, has said

:02:18. > :02:28.Members of the RMT working at Scotrail are striking again this

:02:29. > :02:34.Scotrail expects to operate three quarters of its normal timetable -

:02:35. > :02:37.despite the walkout - and says trains to and from the Open

:02:38. > :02:43.The rail operator is urging passengers to check its website

:02:44. > :02:45.for details of what's running and what's not.

:02:46. > :02:47.Golf and the 2013 Open champion Phil Mickelson is battling it out

:02:48. > :02:50.with the man who came second that year - Henrik Stenson.

:02:51. > :03:00.Our sports reporter Phil Goodlad sent this report from Royal Troon.

:03:01. > :03:08.We are seeing something of a dual here on the links, between Phil

:03:09. > :03:13.Mickelson and Henrik Stenson. It was tense and who started brightest of

:03:14. > :03:18.all. Three of his opening for holes. That helped him take the lead at 12

:03:19. > :03:23.under par. He has dropped back since then and it is Phil Mickelson who

:03:24. > :03:29.now believe the Open Championship on 11 under, playing a steady golf you

:03:30. > :03:32.would expect from the 2013 open champion. Steady golf is what is

:03:33. > :03:40.required with this weather. Gusts of up to 30 mph. Pretty wet conditions.

:03:41. > :03:46.They are leading by five shots from a group of players trying to chase

:03:47. > :03:51.them down. Scotland's leading golfer, Russell Marks, finished on

:03:52. > :03:54.four over par for his round. He is back to four over for the

:03:55. > :04:00.championship. As Phil Mickelson and Henrik Stenson or the

:04:01. > :04:04.Well, it's over to Judith for the forecast.

:04:05. > :04:11.good evening. This is what is happening at the moment. We are

:04:12. > :04:16.bringing our weather in from the Atlantic. Breezy conditions for

:04:17. > :04:20.western areas. By the time we reach the beginning of next week, the

:04:21. > :04:24.winds back into the south-west, introducing much warmer conditions

:04:25. > :04:28.for Monday and Tuesday. Thing is starting to hot up. As far as this

:04:29. > :04:33.evening, still some further outbreaks of radio courtesy of

:04:34. > :04:37.Atlantic weather fans. Continuing to affect parts of western Scotland as

:04:38. > :04:45.we had through the overnight period and first tomorrow. Gradually

:04:46. > :04:48.confined to the Highlands. For the Northern Isles tomorrow, a dry

:04:49. > :04:54.picture. Bright twists and spells of sunshine. In the South, pretty good

:04:55. > :04:59.sunshine coming through for the south-west. Temperatures climbing up

:05:00. > :05:02.to 20 Celsius for the out of Scotland. Elsewhere, 15 or 16.

:05:03. > :05:21.We're seeing some of the best and worst of what summer 2016 has too

:05:22. > :05:22.often today, no prizes for guessing what category you are in. If this
