:00:00. > :00:00.Thanks very much. -- taking the yellow jersey.

:00:00. > :00:09.A man's in a serious condition in hospital after a jet ski

:00:10. > :00:13.The collision between two water scooters happened yesterday evening

:00:14. > :00:16.and the injured man was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth

:00:17. > :00:32.Loch Lomond, a popular site for water sports enthusiasts, but a

:00:33. > :00:37.potentially dangerous one as well. Last night near to Inchmurrin island

:00:38. > :00:42.two jet skis collided, leaving a man seriously injured. Two other people

:00:43. > :00:46.helped him stay afloat with the assistance of the park authority

:00:47. > :00:49.staff. A rescue boat was dispatched from the nearby lifeboat station and

:00:50. > :00:54.help to transfer the man to the island on which a rescue helicopter

:00:55. > :00:58.was able to land to give further treatment. He was then lifted to the

:00:59. > :01:00.Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Glasgow where he remains in a serious but

:01:01. > :01:03.where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

:01:04. > :01:05.An eight-year-old girl is in a critical condition

:01:06. > :01:06.in Ninewells Hospital after she was hit

:01:07. > :01:10.It happened around nine o'clock last night at St Fillan's Road.

:01:11. > :01:12.Police who were searching for a missing man in

:01:13. > :01:15.71-year-old William Clark, who's known as Billy,

:01:16. > :01:19.was last seen in the Muirhall Road area of the city last night.

:01:20. > :01:22.Rail users across Scotland have seen another day of disruption

:01:23. > :01:24.to services due to a continuing dispute between the RMT

:01:25. > :01:29.The union is campaigning against the increased use

:01:30. > :01:32.of trains without guards, leaving the driver responsible

:01:33. > :01:48.The RMT said it had no option but to walk out once again after the

:01:49. > :01:53.failure of talks. The union says the dispute is about the introduction of

:01:54. > :01:59.what it describes as driver only trains and the safety conditions of

:02:00. > :02:03.that. It is a far better train system to have two people on the

:02:04. > :02:09.train and as far as we are concerned, having regard on the

:02:10. > :02:16.train insurers that Scotland's trains remain safe. Not so, says

:02:17. > :02:20.ScotRail. According to the operator there will always be a second member

:02:21. > :02:24.of staff to help the driver, whether that be a conductor or ticket

:02:25. > :02:29.examiner. It is a system that already operates on many suburban

:02:30. > :02:33.services. No one loses their jobs, no one loses pay, we are only

:02:34. > :02:36.improving the railway for our customers. We want to come up with

:02:37. > :02:43.solutions that improve punctuality, reduces journey time and makes our

:02:44. > :02:47.customers happier. Happy is not the word to describe these customers.

:02:48. > :02:52.For them this is the reality, queueing for a bus in the rain. We

:02:53. > :02:55.expected the train and it was cheaper to get a bus from a

:02:56. > :03:00.different service, but we have paid for a train ticket. We have come

:03:01. > :03:05.from England, so we did not know that much about it. It has cost us a

:03:06. > :03:10.fair amount. As long as we get the ferry it will be fine. The transport

:03:11. > :03:14.minister has called for the suspension of the strike while more

:03:15. > :03:18.dialogue takes place, although no further talks are planned. This is

:03:19. > :03:23.the ninth strike we have had to endure in recent weeks. ScotRail

:03:24. > :03:29.says they have run almost 80% of services, albeit some of them

:03:30. > :03:32.reduced. But with another walk-out planned for next Sunday commuters

:03:33. > :03:36.Teaching young people about the dangers of alcohol

:03:37. > :03:40.But there have been encouraging results from a project in Edinburgh

:03:41. > :03:43.where the teenagers themselves lead the discussion.

:03:44. > :03:45.Joanne Macaulay reports caught up with them just before

:03:46. > :03:58.What does drinking mean to you? This lesson at Portobello high school is

:03:59. > :04:03.slightly different, a room full of teenagers, but the door is closed to

:04:04. > :04:07.adults and teachers. Senior pupils have undergone special training to

:04:08. > :04:11.lead these discussions with younger pupils about Scotland's notorious

:04:12. > :04:15.drinking culture. It makes me realise that if I do not want to

:04:16. > :04:19.drink alcohol, and others are, that I do not have to feel pressured into

:04:20. > :04:25.it because there are lots of people who feel the same way. People are

:04:26. > :04:30.sharing stories about people they know, even if you do not know them,

:04:31. > :04:31.that is what makes it personal to you and that is what encourages you

:04:32. > :04:37.to take action. Schools in Edinburgh you and that is what encourages you

:04:38. > :04:42.have these groups were preconceived ideas about drinking are being

:04:43. > :04:44.broken down. Before, what we would find is in the playground people

:04:45. > :04:48.would be talking about drunkenness find is in the playground people

:04:49. > :04:54.as if it was funny and great and a good way to behave. The people who

:04:55. > :04:59.disagreed kept quiet. We create a safe space, we give people the

:05:00. > :05:04.ability, the confidence, to speak out and the reassurance from each

:05:05. > :05:09.other that they will not be judged. The benefits are being felt in the

:05:10. > :05:13.wider community. I have definitely seen a real difference in the amount

:05:14. > :05:18.of young people drinking, predominately at the weekends. We do

:05:19. > :05:22.not have the same sort of alcohol-related anti-social

:05:23. > :05:27.behaviour like we used to. They hoped the project can be extended to

:05:28. > :05:29.more schools to promote healthier attitudes to drinking in future

:05:30. > :05:33.Football, and Celtic have completed the signing of former

:05:34. > :05:35.Liverpool defender Kolo Toure on a one-year deal.

:05:36. > :05:38.The 35-year-old Ivory Coast international worked under manager

:05:39. > :05:45.Let's get the weather prospects for this evening and the start

:05:46. > :05:51.of the week and Kawser is at the map.

:05:52. > :05:59.It has been a great, misty, murky and damp end to the day. Overnight

:06:00. > :06:02.we will continue to see some outbreaks of rain, courtesy of this

:06:03. > :06:07.low pressure which is only over Scotland. For the rest of the

:06:08. > :06:12.evening and overnight those outbreaks could be quite heavy for a

:06:13. > :06:17.time, especially as it spreads north eastwards over the country. Some

:06:18. > :06:21.clearer spells developing as we head through the night. It becomes drier

:06:22. > :06:27.across the South and east of the country. A bit chilly as

:06:28. > :06:31.temperatures dipped to around eight or nine Celsius, but elsewhere

:06:32. > :06:36.holding on double figures. Some showers start to push in across the

:06:37. > :06:41.west coast. Tomorrow morning it will be cloudy and wait in western parts

:06:42. > :06:46.of Scotland and Northern Ireland. The best of any sunshine is on the

:06:47. > :06:50.east coast, but the showers will become more widespread across the

:06:51. > :06:54.afternoon and there may well be the odd rumble of thunder. The high

:06:55. > :06:59.teens further towards the north and the low 20s in the south, so average

:07:00. > :07:05.for this time of year. Tomorrow those showers will continue for some

:07:06. > :07:10.time, but it will become drier in the evening over the eastern part of

:07:11. > :07:13.the country. On Tuesday we are looking at sunshine and scattered

:07:14. > :07:18.showers and they drift further inland as we head through the day.

:07:19. > :07:20.The best of the brightness in the east and temperatures in the mid to

:07:21. > :07:25.Our next update's just after the ten o'clock news.

:07:26. > :07:29.Until then, from everyone on the team here in Glasgow, enjoy
